Wanted to try this place. My friend called in earlier in the day to ask what we needed to do to get a table. Call in when you are 30 minutes from arriving. I called and was told it would be an hour and 45 minute wait. I went ahead and gave her my name and number. I got the text message stating one hour and 50 minute wait. We went on to open table and got a reservation for BonFire and headed there. Great table, great fire, friendly server... oh wait this is about Whiskey Inferno. I never received another text. A few things first: This is a great space in a wonderful building. The service was top-notch. But the food was inconsistent to say the least. - Those who had Cobb salads with brisket were quite pleased. - The kids who had chicken tenders or fried chicken were happy. - The adult who had the shrimp and grits likened it to "grits soup". Maybe a lesson in preparation? It did look like soup. - The adults who had the steakhouse sandwiches (what looked to be an appealing combo sandwich of brisket, pulled pork and sausage) were surprised then they the arrived cold. I was looking forward to this place. I loved bourbon and volstead. But Maybe because this was new or maybe I got the worst waitress/server? I mean I went out to the heated patio and waited what felt like 10 minutes just to get a water and my drink finally showed another 5 minutes later... doesn't sound long but heck there were 3 servers for maybe 6 or 7 tables? My husband and I were meeting between our two places of employment and last weekend we made a pact to try a new place every week. I saw the name of this restaurant and I was kind of hooked from the get go. When I got there it was pretty packed which isn't unusual on a Friday after work so I expected it. I guess they have an indoor type patio where you can get drinks and appetizers while you wait for a table, but we we're fortunate enough to have a couple of people leave at the bar while we tried to decide where we wanted to wait. OK...first of all, I LOVE the decor! Warm, cozy, and very welcoming! Lots to look around at there. The noise level isn't too bad either which is fantastic (and unusual) especially if you are sitting at a bar. We decided to just eat at the bar instead of getting a table. The chairs were comfortable and I have to say...the service was absolutely Fantastic!! That isn't always the case which is kind of expected at the bar when the place is packed, and bartenders are serving the bar and the tables essentially, and that's understandable. However the bartender we had was friendly, funny, and very likeable! Everyone was busy, but they were all on top of it and the service experience was excellent! Drinks....the Savage Old Fashioned....WOW! What a beautiful drink!! So well crafted and smooth. My husband had something different that I cannot remember the name of right now, but essentially a craft Whiskey Sour. Very good, but couldn't beat the Old Fashioned so he switched over after tasting mine :) Food....Wow! Now....we got there at 5pm and decided to just have appetizers so I cannot speak to the regular part of the menu (yet), but we got the nachos and the day's special sliders (brisket). The nachos were very generous and between the brisket on them, and the cheese sauce, it was terrific! The sliders were excellent as well with generous brisket and a BBQ sauce that we had to get more of because I think my husband drank it when I wasn't looking ;). We then needed something sweet...because...well...why not?! We had their salted caramel cheesecake which is new I guess. It wasn't a big piece, but it was very good! It was a rich cheesecake with a nutty base crust that I loved. The salted caramel laying on the top layer was soft and tasty. I would recommend it, but it sounded like they had a couple of other dessert choices I think I would try next time...and there WILL be a next time for sure!! So in closing....Yes....go here! This place has quite the setting I have to say. It's got a more darker color palate to it and a sick chandelier over the bar to match it. I love the HUGE whiskey selection here. They even have some Taiwanese whiskeys available here! For this visit I cam for the adult snow cones! I had 2 Gin Cooler Snow Cones and they were so perfect for the hot weather that day. My friend and I ordered up some food as well. I got a good portion of Brisket which was phenomenal! This place serves up their brisket like no other! When they brought it out me and my friend were astonished. They very thickly slice their Brisket like no other, it almost looked like slices of prime. Besides the presentation the flavor was excellent. Very tender, juicy, you could taste the care that went into it. I didn't need a knife at all, just need a fork. For my sides I got mashed potatoes which were average, and a very flavorful smoked Gouda mac and cheese. As much as I enjoyed the mac and cheese I felt that the choice of noodle wasn't appropriate. Th use of penne felt kinda out of touch. But flavor wise I was very satified! I also got something else I've never seen served up anywhere else, a Old Fashioned all "slushied" up. It just tastes like your average old fashioned but with all the ice it was very cooling. Overall this place serves up solid food and innovative drinks! A bar patron sitting next to me and my friend ordered the Smoked Manhattan and it came in a box full of smoke! I would've loved to give that a taste. The service was friendly and on point. I would give this place another visit soon but given the distance from where I reside, I think I'll have to wait. read more

Good place to grab a bite or partake in a pour- as the name says, Whiskey is their strong suit. Great selection too. Hoping their full menu returns soon as I miss some of the items they once offered. What is on the menu is very tasty and their HH specials are great. My only negative (why 4 stars) is how busy they have become has impacted the personal service they once offered. Waiters and bartenders seem so busy and that impacts both speed of service and the quality of the service. As new places pop up nearby, it's the service that will bring the people back. read more

Been to their sister location, Bourbon Butcher Kitchen + Bar and thought to give this place a try since I really like that location. This place is pretty new - apparently the location used to be an Applebee's. They don't do reservations but you can call in 30 minutes before arriving to be placed on the list. We went on a Friday night and they were slammed. We ended up waiting 1.5 hours even though they estimated it to be 50 minutes. There is a heated patio where you can hangout and order drinks and apps while waiting to be called. We started off with cocktails. They have a huge menu of drink choices. I decided on the Lei'd in Savage - basically a mojito. Old fashioned for the man. Both were pretty good. Ordered Texas chili and bone marrow to start. The chili was really good. It was packed with meat, cheese, in a spicy tomato broth. The bone marrow was the highlight though. It was just rich, fatty, meaty, buttery, full of flavor. And on top of that, the grilled bread was a great compliment. I ordered the 14oz ribeye medium done, that came with mashed potato and a choice of side. I decided on the Mac n cheese. The steak was full of flavor and well seasoned, not bland like most steaks you get at restaurants. So that was a plus. The sides were ok, nothing that stood out. Just like a yelper said, the steak plate was small. Like I had no room to cut my steak. It doesn't make any sense. Anyway, he ordered the Bacon cheeseburger with fries. I can't comment on that since I only had a bite of the bacon and few fries. The atmosphere was nice, especially the bar area. It can get loud in there, but that's normal. Since this place is still new, I hope they can work out a few kinks soon. It definitely has potential. Some of the menu items you see here or on their website might have changed. I had my eye on the wagyu skirt steak only to find out it was no longer on the menu. So be open. Also be patient. You're going to wait awhile, especially on the weekends. read more

We came across Whiskey Inferno and asked the CSR at our hotel about the place as a reference. She said it has just opened up in a space that was formerly Applebees. We gave it a go! Nice place. A bit pricey , but an overall good experience. Got the chicken wings which were good. The burger was average but the sweet potato fries were exceptional. We came in mid afternoon and were seated right away. Our server greeted us with waters and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. She was friendly and offered suggestions on food. We ordered a starter of nachos. They were a disappointment and were very bare and the brisket was fatty. I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. Chicken was crispy, moist, and had a good flavor. Mac and cheese was decent but nothing to write home about. My husband got the smoked ribs and they were phenomenal. Being from Texas, when someone claims fall off the bone in Minnesota, I am sceptical but these were truly fall off the bone and had an excellent flavor. Very disappointed. We had company and went through the barbq pick up line. Got the 4 person feast. We actually wanted chicken wings and they didn't have any yesterday. We wouldn't have gone if we knew that. We went about 3:30 and was just a few cars. The ribs were tiny and burned. All dried out. Chicken was good but there was a half chicken for 4 people!?! It looked like it had starved to death. One sausage!?! The beans were gross. The macaroni and cheese was pretty good. $60 plus 15%tip. We just about died laughing when we opened the tray. It was about 1/3 filled. Luckily we had some other food to add to the dinner. We are trying to support our local restaurants but come on. After reading some of the reviews I was a bit apprehensive about trying this place. I arrived around 6 and this place was absolutely packed. The bartender was friendly and the NY Strip was delicious. As stated above; the steak was fantastic and the asparagus and mashed potatoes were pretty good- but the portions of the sides seemed small for the $35 price tag. My only complaints aside from the portions of the sides is the plate they served the steak on was small and rather annoying to try and cut a steak on. Also, the Duck Tacos were listed on the happy hour menu and after ordering them, a different server approached me and stated they are no longer on the menu. Even with the negatives, I do believe this place is deserving of 4 stars. If they figured out those ridiculous plates and threw a tiny bit more mashed potatoes on there this would be well worth 5 stars. read more

Brisket was not good. Wasn't very smokey and mostly fat. Mac and cheese was bland. Potatoes were dry. Swapped meal out for a burger that came out wrong. Server was super apologetic and sweet (not her fault) and comped the meal. I had heard so much about this place that I was excited to try it. I was totally surprised with this place. I loved the atmosphere and I was really surprised by the food.I had two beer can chicken and the chicken was huge but the chicken was also very flavorful and juicy. It was probably some of the best chicken I've ever had anywhere. My husband and I shared a whiskey flight of three because typically were beer people so we had to try something different. you can tell this place was hopping in people love to come there to watch the games on the TV or just to have a good time with friends and family. Second horrible dinning experience at this place. My brisket was so dry it was inedible. I would like to have said something to the server, but I did not see him again until he brought a box for my daughter's raw steak and the outrageously high check. The prices are higher then a good steak house, but their food is worse then the school food I had back in the 70's. I will never go back there, and I strongly recommend you skip it as well.
