We went on a Saturday night so it was very busy, we didn't make a reservation but only had to wait 20 minutes to get a table inside. I got the Lei'd in savage to drink, tropical and very tasty. We also got the cornbread for the table, highly recommend. I got the brisket meal with mashed potatoes and Gouda macaroni. The brisket was a little dry but the potatoes were top notch. The Gouda mac n cheese wasn't anything special. My boyfriend got the half rack of ribs and said they were pretty good. The BBQ sauce was very very good, ask for extra right off the bat :) trust me. Our service felt a little rushed but I think our waiter was extremely busy, he had a TON of tables so we were very patient with him. Since its recent opening we've read various reviews and decided to try it for ourselves, the best way to know for sure. Invited some friends and headed over to meet them. First impressions were impressive. The staff person as very pleasant and said we had about an hour wait. After all it was a popular place on a Friday night, to be expected. We found a place to sit and relax on the heated patio and had some good fixin's from the happy hour menu. Before we knew it we were in the restaurant and ordering food. We purchased the meat platter and it was amazing both in quality and quantity. This price was soo worth what we received. Stopped by tonight with my girlfriend and we'll definitely be back. Our server, Jessica was super nice and the food came out surprisingly fast. I had the grass fed burger and my girl got the black bean burger, both were really good! The drink options are definitely a bit overwhelming for someone not super familiar with different whiskeys but there are way worse problems to have! I have tried this place twice and it went from "really awful" to "I can't believe this place is still in business". Good luck saying anything to your server about the food. Heard many good things about Whiskey Inferno, but our experience was very disappointing at the Savage, MN location. Our waitress came out with a filthy, dirty apron on. Looked like she was working in the kitchen and had food ALL over it. Never seen anything like that in all my years of dining out. There were a handful of people dining, and our service was poor. No excuse when they weren't busy. Received wrong order, and when they brought out correct order it was COLD. Brisket was fatty. Never checked back with us after that. This our 2nd visit. Our rating is the same. Nice concept, great location. Probably a great place for drinks, but food is way over priced and under executed.We had brunch today. The coffee is Horrible..like an old diner coffee with no flavor. I would expect more. The Chicken waffles were OK, but ridiculous for $19... 3 chicken thighs are minimal cost, and a single waffle on the menu was $5. Worthy of $10 or so. I want to like this place, really. I've been here for lunch x3, happy hour / social hour x1, and brunch x1. All at various times since they've opened, including last week. Very disappointed in the bartenders both times that I sat at the bar. Especially the female bartender that was there both times - she seemed so unamused to be there, not even a greeting - god forbid a smile or sense of personality whatsoever. The second time this happened, there were only 4 other people at the entire bar. I speculate 3 were off duty staff or friends (more on that later) and 1 actual customer. We sat there for at least 4-5 minutes, starring in disbelief at the 2 bartenders as they avoided us. She took her sweet time cleaning glass after glass before she reluctantly placed 2 menus on the bar without making eye contact or saying hello. Another male bartender was floating around and socializing during this whole ordeal and eventually, minutes after we got our menus, he brought us waters. Still he didn't ask what we'd like. Nice segue into, it's clear that the staff and / or their friends hang out at the bar and all chat with each other regardless of who is working. When it happens, it is very obvious, they congregate towards the service end of the bar and joke around loudly - both on and off duty staff. It's fine, as long as you've taken care of your customers first. Otherwise it's wildly unprofessional. On the lunch occasion, my guest asked for water with lemon and we were told they didn't have lemons. I could literally, with my eyes, see lemons on the bar pre sliced and sitting there in a little tub next to all the other drink garnishes. Guess they were too busy socializing to notice the lemons right next to them. And... Honestly all of the food is pretty average. I haven't had anything that's knocked my socks off. Maybe I need to go for dinner, but after all these bad experiences it's been difficult to justify such an expensive bill. Do we all realize Minneapolis and St Paul are both within 30 min and have endless options for stellar food? I mean, truly, authentic wonderful cuisine. Your money will be better spent there. Don't get stuck down here. The only reason it gets 2 stars is because of the 1-2 times in there we had good service, it has a nice interior and atmosphere, and relative to the area it is a decent option. Definitely a local hot spot that I'm glad my in-laws took us to. The hype wasn't built up just to be a letdown. Loud atmosphere, but filled with friendly staff and locals. Restaurant had a cool setting/decor. They've got liquor lockers, which I thought was a new concept. Apparently, anyone can rent a locker for about $500 (forgot time frame) and staff will store locker owner's liquor there. I think there's still a bar bill if they want bartenders to mix with cocktails with their liquor? Anyway, we had gotten the pleasure of being waited on by Brad. This dude is freakin' awesome. He's got an outgoing personality. It was a busy night for him, but he still managed our table well with friendly banter and making sure we had everything. LOL. He also happens to be my in-laws' fave rep, and he recognized one of my brothers-in-law as a regular. I don't typically care for the food whenever my husband and I visit Minnesota, so I've gotta give kudos to this restaurant for winning me over when it came to the food. Faves were the pork belly and cornbread appetizers. My smoked gouda burger was bomb. Not just 'cause it didn't have veggies XD Cocktails were on point too - gotta try the Test of Time. We had a group of 10 show up. Was surprised they had 10 pages of drinks and only 2 pages of food. Guess they would rather you drink then eat. Service was very good. Everyone in the group was extremely happy with everything. My only knock is what I ordered. I had the $21 Lobster roll and would defiantly never order that again or recommend it to anyone. It had no real flavor except for the weird pink onions on it. Was expecting red onions not a pink pickled onion. The Mayo they used was very watery and made the bun extremely soggy and just wasn't a very good choice. Made me wish I had chose my other choice. Everyone else loves what they got and was a very big selection of stuff. All the food is on the higher side of pricing but I would most likely go back. Came in the night before thanksgiving and they had pretty much every table full, we did not have to wait though, got seated right away. The server was great! He has a lot of tables so sometimes it was hard to get his attention but he was very polite and whenever he walked by you could tell he was checking on the table to see if we needed anything such as drinks. We ordered the steak flight and my fiancé and I split it. Got it with a side of fries and the smoked Gouda Mac and cheese. It was all very good. The toppings on the steak were plentiful and delicious. The steaks we ordered at medium rare and they came out perfect. Every steak had a very unique taste to it and it was so tender. It is truly worth coming here and we will be back for sure! Highly recommend getting the flight and sharing with someone if it's your first time. That way you can try every cut of steak and determine which one you like best along with which topping you like best! The fries and Mac and cheese were also done very well. We have been very excited to check out Whiskey Inferno because we enjoy the sister location so much. It is understandable for a restaurant to under go growing pains so we decided to wait until mid February, and before the big dinner rush to finally check it out. Needless to say, it was very disappointing. We were quoted a 50 minute wait and multiple parties that came in with us got seated as we continued waiting 90+ minutes. The heated patio and appetizers are redeeming qualities, but not enough so that I would be back anytime soon for dinner. read more

I'm giving it two stars because of the server we had. My friend selected Whisky Inferno to throw a surprise birthday party for her husband. Prior to her selecting this establishment, she confirmed that her guests could pay their bills separately because there would be over 20 guests. The guests started to arrive, we ordered drinks and food. Everything went smoothly until it was time to pay. Our server told us we couldn't pay separately and the most he could do was split the bill into five credit cards. This was news to us and caused a lot of problems. Because of this, my table ended up sending money via Venmo to our friend for what we ordered because we were leaving. We later found out that after they spoke to the manager, it was the server being lazy and not wanting everyone to pay separately. While they were speaking to the manager, our server could not be found anywhere. Of course, they were not going to waste more time waiting around for our server to appear, so they settled the bill and left. This was not something that the birthday guest should have to deal with on a day that was supposed to be a celebration just because one server didn't feel like running each guest's card. Regarding the food and drinks, I ordered the inferno old fashion and I love a good old fashion, but this one was too sweet. Nothing on the food menu looked appealing to me so I settled for the bacon cheeseburger. I wish I could say I enjoyed this burger, but I was highly disappointed. There was a huge lack of flavor. A great find out in the burbs. We were looking for a place to eat after a round of golf in Prior Lake. The review touting the dry rub wings sent us their way. They were great.
