I would love a couple tables to sit down and eat so I don't have to walk back to my office carrying a sack of sliders. My food was decent - service was acceptable. I loved my crispy chicken sliders, the two cheeseburgers were wonderful, and my onion chips were burnt but not to the point of asking for a refund. I asked for packets of ketchup and mustard and they provided copious amounts of each, which is good compared to some other White Castles I've visited. I will probably visit again. read more

Everyone wants to try White Castle especially after seeing Harold and Kumar, so of course my boyfriend would want to try it in real life as he's never had a White Castle ever. So on our exploration of Detroit we had to stop by a White Castle. Well we went to this one which was on our way back home and well it was a little sad drive through in the middle of a busy intersection. Not very busy. We used the drive through as, I don't think there was anything but a drive through. We ordered the standard but also got the chicken with waffle bun and well that was actually the winner for me! Surprisingly good. Just skip the other stuff and stick to the chicken and waffles :) read more

If I could give this no star, I would. We placed an online order at 12:25am and here I am, writing at 2:27am and still have not gotten our order. Pick up time was supposed to be 1:15am but that didn't happen. They didn't start working on our order until we got there at 1:24am. This is horrible. They were short staffed and that's understandable but if you know it gets busy at night, then y'all need more staff. read more

Best white castle in Detroit. The night staff are some of the most kind and caring people I have ever met at a fast food establishment. They have always have a positive attitude when I go. My friends and I are regulars and considering how understaffed places are right now, they have only gotten our order wrong ONCE even when we are ordering for a large group, absolutely incredible I could not ask for better service, they never cheap out on toppings. This white castle is my friends and i's safe space, sounds ridiculous but we just love it here. The only time I get to eat WhiteCastle is when you catch me out here in the east or deep in the south ya digg. I love their mini burgers. They got this one called the wave or something live that. Their calamari fries are off the hook. Their mini jalapeno burgers are good. 10 burgers for under $10 plus calamari fries and a drink. This has got to be the worst White Castle!!! Slow service and inaccurate food order. The employees could careless about making sure your order is correct. Ask for a bacon, egg, and cheese on wheat toast ... I get sausage, egg, and no cheese on wheat toast. I give the sandwich back and instead of them making the sandwich from scratch they take the bacon off put sausage on and didn't even bother adding the cheese slice. Okay, the food is usually on point but I had to write a review b/c the guy at the drive thru was trying to rip me off (I think). All I wanted was two White Castles. That's about $1.40...right? He told me $2.90...then he said "no, that's for 3 burgers" after I questioned him. When I got to the window, he said $1.90-something. When I started handing him the change I told him "this is $1.75...let me get you the rest..." He stopped me and said "that's okay...you're good"! When I drove a few feet...I thought to myself "wait! He didn't give me a receipt and my bill should have been around $1.40". So, I called and asked for the manager. Since I hadn't left the premises, he grabbed the correct change and ran out to my car and gave it back to me. That was a weird experience! It's never happened to me there and the manager did make it right...but ONLY after I called the store. I'm posting this because I didn't want anyone else to be a victim to being overcharged at this store. I don't usually write reviews for fast-food chains, but I'm making an exception for this place, because it's kind of famous. I have to do my part to dispel myths whenever I can, so... here it is. Firstly, no one I spoke to about this place was ever overly impressed by the food. I was under the impression that White Castle had, like, the best hamburgers on the planet or something. I'm not sure why I thought that, as I have no frame of reference when it comes to good or bad hamburgers, and nor have I seen any movie from the franchise that made this place a household name even on the West Coast where it doesn't really exist. Whatever the reason, it was mostly incorrect. The general consensus among the very large group of people that I spent a week with in Michigan was that this place had good drunk food... and with their giant take away packs, it was also easy and cheap. This made it kind of a go to late at night when nothing else was open and everyone was hungry. So, having admitted to knowing nothing about hamburgers, I will say that I am, however, a fry expert. It is in this area that my testimony is at all applicable. My sad, sad, damning testimony. Oh, White Castle. With your weird castle like exterior, and your cute little hamburgers... Why did you give up on your fries? They're most definitely from a frozen surplus of lifeless potato slivers, and they're tasteless. I feel like they never even had a chance. In fact, I would rank them in the top 5 most disappointing french fries I have ever had in my life. I say this with a heavy, though truthful, heart. While traveling across the east coast we first stopped at a White Castle somewhere in KY or Cinci OH and I was curious at what the hype was all about and it was decent but greesey. My buddies and I ended up in Dearborn staying at the Holiday Inn for some 3 months or so working on a movie and that was back when I drank and everyone kept telling us that this is what White Castle is most famous for, is curing or rather preventing a hangover, and what do you know, It actually does work like a charm so to put it plainly we frequented the many stores and drive thru's whever we were in Detroit Metro and now I am sick of WC but it's definitely worth the experience. The sandwiches are tiny as hell, about 3 or 4 bites so get a 6 pack and take some with you if you can't eat them all. read more

Well, it's White Castle so don't expect a 5-star experience! And, especially not late at night! We pulled up to this Whitey's around 10p on a Tuesday night and there was a good amount of cars at the drive through (maybe 3 or 4 cars ahead of us). When we arrived at the speaker we had to wait a bit for anyone to assist us. A male voice finally came on the speaker. After I gave the entire order there was a long pause then a female voice started speaking and I had to repeat the entire order again--UGH! While we were waiting to pull up to the window we noticed that two cars ahead of us were giving back their bags--the orders were coming out wrong! We also noticed that there was a vagrant hanging out at the drive through and begging people for money--UGHHHHHHH!!! This an easily avoidable problem by simply telling the vagrant to leave your establishment. You can threaten to call the police if they are resistant. I worked in foodservice for many years, and dealt with this situation myself. I never once had to call the police. You just have to tell them that you have a no loitering policy, and that's it! Post a sign if necessary! Anyway, back to the food! So, we finally reach the window and get our food. The lady at the window was an older lady and very polite. I didn't see many employees through the window, which led me to believe they were short of help. When I looked in our bag the order was surprisingly right--HALLELUJAH--and we pulled off. When we arrived home hubs and I, for the first time, bit into the Impossible Sliders. They were absolutely amazing! We only wanted two each but I ended up getting us three each (I had a feeling we'd want more). It was a good thing that I did! I would highly recommend the Impossible Slider while visiting White Castle. It makes all the other nonsense worth it! And, like the name suggests, it is impossible to tell that it's not real meat! read more

Of course I would come back here, but I really didn't appreciate the somewhat endearing crackhead practically reaching into people's cars at the drive-thru last night trying to get people's money and/or food, and the restaurant workers doing absolutely nothing about it. Instead of getting upset I just kind of felt awkward and sad. Generally I just want to feel overstuffed and get a bad case of diarrhea, the exact opposite. The double drive-thru is kind of a bitch if you're on the side that doesn't have a person in the window and instead a paper cup to put your money in. I really can't believe I'm on here complaining about White Castle so I'll stop here and give three stars. Love dem burgers, though. read more

Dried up tasteless burgers. They don't put ketchup or mustard on the burgers no more you have to ask. Sucks and I will never go back.

It's a white castle, what do you expect? Good food and great selection. The service tends to be relatively quick. Don't try to compare this to other burger joints that are more gourmet or in n out. The styles are different but for a fast food joint the selection is awesome, cheap and tasty. My favorite is the fish slider. read more

It was my first time going to a White Castle. I've had the microwaveable sliders at the supermarket, but they're not the same! These little burger were amazing but don't let the movie fool you...you cannot eat 100 of these things....after 5 or so your stomach will pay the price. read more
