Yes, despite being a self proclaimed foodie, I do like a White Castle slider every now and then. In particular, White Castle's jalapeño cheese sliders are the best in my opinion. This particular location is a usually stop whenever I am on I-65 as it is half way to Indy or Chicago. This location is also super clean :-)

Waiting to order while others wait long periods of time on their food.

Stopped here at lunch. Extremely slow, took 15 minutes to place my order with 1 person in front of me. After I placed my order it took 21minutes for them to tell my name. My order was incorrect so it was another 10 minute wait. The cashier kept stopping and going outside and away from the counter. This all happened during noon time lunch. To top it off the tables were all dirty, the floors were dirty and the counter was dirty.

What a pleasant surprise! This White Castle has been completely remodeled and now features "BLAZE - The Modern Barbecue," a sort of restaurant-within-a-restaurant. It is the only one in the world, a pilot that I hope will be copied in many White Castles or spun off into its own chain. The new restaurant fare features barbecue: six kinds of meat - pulled chicken, carnitas, Andouille sausage, Chinese char sui pork, smoked turkey and beef brisket. Dinners may be ordered with one or two sides and all come with a nice little loaf of cornbread - with or without jalapenos baked inside. They also have a sloppy Joe that my nephew likes a lot. There is a great assortment of sides with a home cooking bent, including: mac and cheese, loaded potato salad, Southwestern black beans and corn, redskin mashed potatoes, creamy coleslaw, BBQ baked beans (my personal favorite), corn on the cob, and Brunswick stew. Once you have your meal, you select your sauces from an assortment. They are in pumps so they are easy to pump onto your plate or fill little plastic containers. There five sauces to choose from. Three are mild: Blaze BQ (my fav), Smokin' Tomato Blaze, Sweet Asian Blaze. Blazin' Mustard and Blazin' Chili rate 3 and 4 flames on the Blaze sauce hottness scale. All are good and the two hotties, while warm enough to get a little perspiration going, are not going to hurt anybody. Of course they still have all of the standard White Castle favorites that made them famous. They have an array of drinks and feature Coke products, which puts them closer to my heart, For dessert there are two kinds of pie. The place is bright and clean, with a cool graphic along one wall that references the original White Castle restaurants. This is fast-ish food (go in and sit down to eat - it would be challenging to eat while driving a car) with a new twist. It's fun and delicious. The only problem I can see with Blaze is the job of getting new customers familiar with the new choices. Once that is done, I think people will come back again and again. Get in today and try it while it's still the only one on the planet! UPDATE 5/17/11: Just ate lunch here (pulled pork dinner) and was sad to see the carnitas, Andouille sausage, Chinese char sui pork, and smoked turkey have all been discontinued due to their unpopularity. Oh, well... Also noted the pulled pork seemed overly salty and had a rub type seasoning on it. It was still really good though and it fell apart nicely.

Once you walk in, you walk up to a counter place your order and they will call out your name on the order is ready for pick up. There is also a fully self service station for sauces as well as Takeaway boxes if you need them. The menu offers a lot of different combinations and samplers and meats from pork to chicken. The sides are also a little bit unique in the sense that the vegetable sides also have added bacon, which is great to see. I personally love to see hush puppies, which is a very antiquated and rare to find option for food. And they did not disappoint. Overall, I would say from the sampler of the ribs and the chicken were fantastic as well as the pulled pork. The brisket was OK, but did not necessarily stand out. We did try four different barbecue sauces, which were all fantastic. The hush puppies as I stated earlier were absolutely delicious and I would come back just for these. We also got the corn pudding, which was a little bit on the sweeter side, but made and baked fresh just like everything else here. And this was a great alternative to cornbread. To top it all off, the staff here was so super nice, especially the young man at the counter when you first walked in as he also offered up a sample of the corn pudding because I've never heard of corn pudding nor did I ever tried it and this was also my first visit. I would definitely come back here again, and/or visit any of their other locations closer to Indy.

OMG we were totally blown away by how tender the brisket was. 19 hours under smoke. It was unbelievable and they give you nice portion for the sandwich. The fries are extra but man are they good. They know how to get crisp outside and almost creamy inside. I saw they had a pork belly burnt ends as a special so I had to order. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They have 4 or 5 sauces that you serve yourself. I mixed a couple. They have seating outside which is really nice. The bathrooms were super clean which was important for m wife.

They have the most tender and juicy chicken paired with the warm and slightly chewy yet crispy soft corn tortillas. I mean wow. I'm from the Chicagoland area and I'd say I've been fortunate enough to have amazing Mexican food. But this place ranks one of the highest in my book. And it's in central fricken INDIANA??? Idc. Absolutely the best place in town. Period. Not to mention the service is perfect. The team there is always greeting you with a smile, and it seems they really remember their customers and people. Gotta love that kind of hospitality in a town that notoriously lacks good service. These guys truly know how to go the extra mile and make your week UPDATE: I tried their flaming hot Cheeto birria bombs two days ago and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them. They were the most perfect texture of crunch to birria Mac and cheese ratio. One of my new favorite foods, which is wild because I've never been a fan of Mac and cheese bites. These are just. Unreal

We will never come back to this location again. MULTIPLE issues…read more 1. First thing I ordered was an adult sized cheese quesadilla for my 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, who was with me. Employee told me he couldn't make an adult size, only a kid size. I said, no, I want an adult size because the kid size isn't enough for my daughter. Employee said it's an online order only. I asked why? That's ridiculous! Employee said there is a line and it takes too long. I stated that that was what my child wanted. Employee eventually got the manager and manager stated the same thing. I said the quesadilla could have been done by now while we've been arguing. She said I needed to go to back of line and order online the quesadilla. I said I want additional items, put the quesadilla on the griddle please and move on. The employee at the cash register said I had to move down to order the quesadilla. I didn't move and again I loudly stated I needed an adult cheese quesadilla FOR MY CHILD. So employee finally put one on the griddle and I ordered two burrito bowls to go. I did NOT yell, I was NOT mean. I was firm and clear. My child was hungry and that's what she liked, so of course that's what I'm getting for her. When paying, I asked employee how long this policy had been in effect and she said since she had been there, so at least a year. I said we had been to a Chipotle a month or so ago and had zero issue and she said it varies by location. Again, ridiculous. Train your employees to multi-task. You should have a timer to go off when it's done so they can come back to it. They don't have to stand there babysitting it. 2. They were out of fajita veggies, the lettuce was drowning in water, and they were out of unsweet tea which my husband only drinks due to no sugar. I asked an employee if they had any unsweet tea and he said no, the tea canister has been leaking and we are out. He flipped the spout and it dripped. There was a huge puddle of tea underneath. 3. The restaurant was filthy. Tables were dirty, floor was dirty, trash was full. 4. To top it off, our food wasn't even good! Bland & cold. EXTREMELY disappointed. My husband and I have been customers since probably 2012 when I was in college.
