If you've never had one, they remind me of smaller McDonald's basic hamburgers on slightly better buns. (Just my opinion, which I am certain is sacrilege to the WC devout.) Once I was able to place my order, I had it in my hands in under 10 minutes. These days, it still takes some time to get through the order line... and the kiosks were out of order, so it was just two registers. Don't make the same mistake I made and order too much. In hindsight, five is probably enough. Unfortunately, I ordered about twenty and after a few of them, the repetitive soft, squishy texture became nauseating and gross. - the jalapeno is too spicy/hot. - the original is boring and mushy. - the cheese is okay, but the pickles are weird. In my opinion, the best sliders are the fish, chicken, and breakfast. We were driving to meet some family and I realized I was starved from the flight. Now there was a plethora of fast food signs... I just couldn't make my mind up. Then I saw it!! Like a ray of light breaking through the cloud line, the magnanimous glorious White Castle sign, next exit!! (We don't have these in the west coast) All the way there I do believe I heard angels singing, guiding my way there through the turns and lights! As I approached the parking lot, I got super disappointed as I saw a framed building with a construction fence around it and the White Castle sign mixed with others on the plastic... I thought fooled again!!! Then just as I was about to turn around, I saw another sign pointing further into the parking lot! Saved!!!! With renewed spirit, I followed the signs through the parking lot; winding and weaving till finally, I saw the end of the line. There are guys with flags guiding traffic to the two lines. It was a little confusing and the angle at which they brought us in was really acute but somehow we ended up in two lines of cars headed foot the drive through. The drive through was pretty slow... we waited around 15 minutes to get to the ordering speaker. But once there we were able to read the menu and sell they extra what we wanted. I wanted to try everything so I ordered the Impossible Slider, fish sliders, and a pack of normal sliders! The combo comes with fries and a drink and you can pick the size. Small is really small, and then it jumps right up to Medium which is really big. I can't imagine what large looks like!!. (Medium is just right) then the person asked what make, model and color my car was and my name. I thought what??? So I told the person with the make model and color of my car was and proceeded to drive around the corner. As around the corner to the first window I realized why it was taking so long. There were associates running in and out of an open slider glass door, pun intended lol... with receipts checking to see if they found the right order with the right car. It was really a little bit crazy. I was asked to different times if my order was correct. Once they found the right person, they asked for a form of payment. The person who came to my window the third time, finally asked me for a form of payment and I handed her a card. She quickly disappeared into the building and as I rounded the corner I saw her waiting in line to use the credit card machine. Once she go her turn, she ran the credit card back to me and I rolled to the next window. They handed me a bag and something told me to check the order. Sure enough, it wasn't the correct one. So I let them know and they checked my receipt and finally handed me the correct order. I drive away and exhaled... it was kind of a chaotic ordeal. We decided to park and eat. The first thing you do is eat fries, and I was disappointed that they were Luke warm; on the boarder of cold. Ok, trying for the sliders now. They were a little cold but just as delicious as I remembered them!! I tried the Impossible Slider and they were quite good! You wouldn't know it wasn't meat! Last I tried the fish slider, mmm good too! All in all, I was happy! Loaded with sliders and orange hi-c in my belly I began to continue my trek to meet family. 1 st experience here was a hit! Well, actually 2nd time here. Came on opening day looked at the line and said NO WAY! How could there be so much hype? Today's experience explained why. I lost 20 lb last few months and am really trying to watch what I eat. I love that their app has calories for everything and a PDF of all ingredients is available online. I wanted a meal around 500 calories and that's what I got. I ordered the original original (1921) slider. As a side I got hash browns. They had boxes of every kind of dipping sauce you would ever want. I got the BBQ. The sauce tasted like many other burger joints' version. Nice sweet light smoke. As for that slider, it deserves its own paragraph ... WOW!! WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! I thought I remembered what this place is like. Last memory was Jackson NJ 1990. I remember the strong onion smell and cramped quarters. Not here! No smell, very nice seating and fantastic modern building. Anyway the burger was AMAZING!! These are much better than the frozen ones I ate. The bread was way better but the onions were the biggest difference. Nice fresh moist onions and the meat tasted very fresh. The hash browns were served very hot and crispy! Impressive 1st impression. I could have eaten much more but this was just right for now. Awful!!! It's the same thing as east coast. I had no desire to come here but with the hype and lines thought maybe it had improved or that Arizona's White Castle might be better. The kids were curious about it so we went to check it out. Line was 25 min wait to order then another 25 min for our food. We walked over to Starbucks and got coffees and got my toddler a snack and came back and our order still wasn't ready. When we finally got our food my sons cheeseburger buns were soaking wet and the meat looked disgusting. Inedible. My 1921 burger looked nothing like the picture out front, the lettuce was soggy, and the meat had terrible unidentifiable gnarly pieces in it. Even the fish sandwich was nasty, super fishy and dark meat. The fries were ok. That's it. And they forgot our shakes. We had to ask for them, good thing the kids remembered because I forgot and we had paid for them already. It looks like a factory line up with about 7-8 deer in the headlights, totally clueless. Both Ice machines were empty. Why not take one of the 20 people standing idly in back and have them do some work up front, clean the area, refill the ice machine? Very poorly run place. I really don't get what all the hype is about. These guys got nothin In-N-Out. Nuuuuuthin. We expected the wait, it was a Saturday evening and it took about 40 minutes to get to the counter. Then another 30 to get the food. The original sliders are okay, pretty good actually. And the chicken and waffle sandwich was okay too (a little dry). The 1912 slider? Dry as can be, bland. Meh. Worth every bit of the hype. Those little sliders just slide right into my hand and into my mouth. I have never waited to get home to eat mine. Never. My favorites are the doubles with cheese. Hot... Piping off.... Immediately off the grill is the best way to have these. This location is in a popular area of Scottsdale. You can almost walk there from Great Wolf Lodge. Walked in tonight and was rudely told I must go thru the drive thru to order. Got in line and waited 40 minutes to order and get food.

We waited until Thanksgiving night to make our first trip as the waits have been really long since they opened. The drive thru had about 15 cars waiting, not too many people inside though so we went in. Inside, there are 3 kiosks which are not in use right now which take up a lot of space in the ordering area. I think this is what is leading to the appearance of "long lines" out the door. There were only about 5 people ahead of us when we arrived at 9:50 pm, but due to the kiosks & a 10-12 person communal table located right inside the door, it looked like quite a few more. Service was super fast (no longer than the wait at any other typical fast food restaurant) and super friendly. Despite being a holiday, all the counter & kitchen employees seemed happy to be there. The food was just as good as what we've had back home around the Chicago-land area. To those crying that the food tastes like what they sell in the frozen section of the supermarket, I think that's a testament to the engineers that helped create it. Only one other time have I had a frozen item taste like the restaurant item. The one difference we did find was onion rings aren't offered but what is offered is better - onion strips. This is a much better option esp. for anyone who eats while driving. Instead of a nuclear hot onion sliding out when you take your first bite, these are much smaller (not quite bite sized) bite-able pieces. This was not a horrible change, per the beau. My fiance's Father was born on Christmas Eve. Their family tradition was to pile in the family car & head to the nearest WC minutes after midnight on 12/24 to celebrate. Since I moved to AZ about 7 years ago, I've created the homemade version of sliders to celebrate his Dad. Last year I tried the frozen for the first time & was very happy that the cooking method captured the same essence of restaurant sliders. As the very first person to "purchase" a burger from the this location, let me say I am uniquely qualified to reviews this location. My qualifications are : 1) American 2) From Midwest and earliest memories are my dad stopping at 38th street and Keystone (Indianapolis ) for some burgers. So how did I become the first paying customer before it was even open? I was at my office several months ago, talking with other midwesterners about the new location and someone suggested we download the app to see when it would open and any other info. I downloaded it and kept it on my phone. Yesterday, the day before the grand opening , I checked the app , found they had added the new location and there was an order button available for this location. I ordered two "takehomeasack's" gave with a 50% discount, paid with Apple Pay and set my pickup time to 1 pm. I arrived at 1 and went in. The first greeting I had was, "we are not open until tomorrow" ? What? I guessed that might be a problem before I arrived, but I was determined to score some burgers so I pressed on. I said but I already paid! Of course they were all baffled on how I was able to order and pay to a location that was not open. I showed them the app, my Apple Pay statement. She said "hold on"! She came back about 5 minutes later with a her mobile phone on speaker as I talked to someone at CORP on how I did this. After about 15 minutes of discussion, they realized IT had opened the location only for testing for 5 minutes and somehow I got in and out during that time. Now I knew they were making burgers because I saw a few promo from local radio hosts that had already been there for a soft opening. I was hoping they could make some burgers for me. They started out saying they were not cooking today but then they realized I had paid. Someone came over after all the phone calls and said "it's your lucky day! " Please wait 10 minutes, we are making you some fresh burgers! They were delicious, my office was happy to be there a day early and avoid the big crowds today. That's the good news. The bad news is my success reverberated to my wife's office and today I have been selected by my wife to buy 3 bags of 10 each for her office today. And deliver them! I came a little after 12:30pm today (Sunday). Overall time from when I stepped into line to when I got my food was 1hr45. The estimate the workers gave was pretty accurate. There was a line of cars waiting to turn at the first light after I got off the exit. I sat in that line for 15mins not realizing that I could hop in the left lane to go around the cars and get to the parking lot (yes, the drive thru line was almost backed up to the freeway!) Whether you decide to attempt the drive thru or the in store line, make sure you come prepared. Don't show up hungry or else the wait will feel even longer. If you are there during the day, be prepared to stand in the heat (there are some tents for shade but certain parts of the line are exposed). I'm guessing at night you may want a sweater. After the long wait, I finally got my food. I opted for some traditional sliders (some with American cheese, some with jalapeño cheese). At the end of the day, it's still White Castle. If you've never had it before, you will probably be disappointed - you'd have to be from the Midwest to understand! Be prepared to have the taste and smell of onions with you the rest of the day. I am just not a huge fan of White Castle. I mean I can take it or leave it, but I'd prefer to leave it. Having said that, I know it's a regional thing which brings back fond memories for people back East, sort of a Norman Rockwell reminding you of life in a simpler time sort of thing for those grownups with fond memory of playing with an etcha a sketch in the back of the car on the way to Grandma's house or being told to "Go outside and play" that we recall hearing as kids when we we look at our children now wIth their I-Phones and sadly shake our heads. That's right people, somewhere along the way I got old, so keep your damn kids off my lawn or I will turn the hose on them. There are two types of White Castle fanatics I think. Those who really genuinely love it, and those with the fond memories who go after all these years and find its just not as awesome as they recall in their youth. Not sure which one of those categories my wife fits into but she has been dying to go ever since they opened the first one out here. We waited until the initial hysteria died down after the place opened (or so we thought) and went last night at around nine o'clock after seeing Gabriel Iglesias over at Talking Stick. So despite my personal opinions on the food I am writing this review more about the location itself, as overall the food was cooked well and the fries were warm. If you like White Castle, I mean are a true convert bathed in the water on a Sunday morning kind of person I am sure it's exactly as you remember it and I can only say knock yourself out. As far as the location itself goes there was a line, about fifteen minutes long, but it went smoothly and we got our food in short order. They do still have issues at the location though such as being out of napkins so they just piled a stack of washroom towels next to the dispensers. They were also out of ice and about 90% of the fountain drinks, leaving nothing but Vanilla Coke and a bunch of nasty diet stuff or Lime Aide which nobody in their right mind wants. When we pointed it out to the manager she said they were completely out it all. I asked her what we were supposed to put in the cups they sold us as I held up the empty containers for her to see with a pleading look in my eyes and she just shrugged with a helpless smile. If they are all out of soda they should stop selling the cups or at least warn the customers that all they are going to get is warm beverages nobody in with a shred of self-respect would drink. Just sayin'. Other than that, if White Castle is truly your thing, have at it, as the food is cooked right and served promptly. We got a little bit of everything and they got the order perfect so props for that. The food was good, no great but good. Better than Krystals DOR SURE. Very clean place and spacious. Great for groups. Tons of parking and it's cheap. Overall, very average. Good was good, not everything was great but i would go again. The impossible burger was amazing though, my favorite! I was pretty excited to find out a few months ago when the fort announced that White Castle is opening in Arizona. For those who got the chance to catch them 4 years ago in Tempe( if you know, you know) were probably pretty excited like myself. The first few weeks this opened it was a lot more worst than any sneaker line I've ever waited in. Like we're talking about HOURS. So I finally got a chance to go at a "slower" time and my expectations were met. It's not mind blowing good, but it's Also not that bad. I went to check out what all the hype was about last night, since it had been open for a couple days now. The drive through line was so long it wrapped around the block and police had to help direct traffic. It took over TWO HOURS to get through and finally get our food. I ordered two classic sliders, a fish slider, a chicken waffle slider and a large chocolate shake. It came out to just over $10. 1) The sliders were SOGGY, extremely messy and bland...somehow the burger still managed to be dry and they rushed us through so I couldn't ask for sauce. 2) The fish slider was also dry as can be. Again I needed some sauce but your drive through supervisor looks like a Nascar pit boss, I could hear her saying C'mon what's the hold up as my friend simply looked in her bag. 3) Chicken waffle slider tasted great but again needs some sort of sauce! The waffle could have been crispier. 4) Chocolate shake was good- tastes a lot like Burger King's shakes just a little creamier flavor. I don't recommend a large because it was a huge (32oz?) cup. If they didnt have insane lines I would go back for the breakfast waffle or the chicken waffle slider again. The fish slider has potential if they have tartar sauce or hot sauce on them. The burger was HORRIBLE by traditional burger standards... Unless a soggy sloppy bun is your thing. Definitely not worth the hype, was a waste of time and gas. The soggy burgers were nearly slimy because they were sitting there as they mass produced as many as possible ahead of time to deal with the endless stream of cars. Big turn off because the mouth feel was disgusting! They should make them TO ORDER considering their burgers are steamed on a pan and have lots of juice. I mean have any of them ever done a quality control test on their own product? If you want to try White Castle just buy the frozen ones and microwave / bake them yourself. It's a sad day at the White castle for me, this is my seventh time being there since they opened first time waited 4 1/2 hours, Second, third, fourth time was another three hours each time, then it's progressively gets easier hour and a half, and so on. Knowing did they're so completely busy every single time you go there you know your food is not going to be hard but it's OK it's white castle. Well today I went and I was fourth person in line, all I could think of was how happy I was going to be to get that nice hot slider that I have been waiting for, for years. I was sitting in the drive-through with a big old happy smile on my face. I get up to the happy talk box and tell them I want six cheeseburger sliders and one breakfast slider with bacon. I can already taste the happy hot sliders, and my eggs slider with bacon nice and hot. Well guess what, they were completely cold, Ice cold as a matter fact. I understood in the beginning but I'm having a hard time now. I have waited for so long for this restaurant to open and I am so very disappointed and sad. I decided to give this place another attempt to purchase, since several weeks have gone by and it was a week night. It took about 30 minutes, 10 minutes in line to order and about 20 minutes to get food, which ended up being wrong from what I ordered. Considering their menu is somewhat limited for burgers, I do not think it's that hard to get regular burgers and cheese burgers that difficult to pack...but apparently it is. When I got home, I discovered the error...shame on me for not checking these over paid workers. While the food is what I had expected, it was ok. Glad I did not spend hours in line for a bad experience. I wouldn't frequent this place regularly, but am not totally opposed to dining here when in the area and it's not overly busy and these folks can't screw stuff up. Day 2: The second time I go through the line it was only about 45 minutes. Once I got to the ordering person she says we are very sorry but we cannot make the impossible burger at this time because it is frozen and I takes too long to cook. While waiting a van decided to be angry and ran over six cones apparently he waited in line only to find out they cannot make the impossible burger. (My car is too little so I cannot run over any cones, the cones are taller than my car) The third time I'm in line and finally I'm able to order the impossible slider (obviously you can tell by now I am vegetarian) Yahoooooo, Finally the order is ready almost 3 dollars for 1.5 inch tiny impossible burger with wilted lettuce the tiniest slice of pickle cannot be more than 2 mm in thickness there is something circular that's red I think it is a very tiny tomato and of coarse 1.5 inch bun. The impossible burger is actually not very good at White Castle. The impossible burger I have to admit does not taste very good at Burger King either. The beyond burger at Carl's Jr. is amazing compared to these two vegetarian options Another crazy thing they have at White Castle for vegetarians is the veggie slider which is pretty much the same disgusting 1.5 inch sandwich without the impossible burger or dead animal. I forgot to mention while getting the order the girl that's handling food also was handling the money and eating these tiny burgers herself. ( it's hard to tell if she was eating a killed animal or the impossible burger). Not clean Not to mention, actually I will mention: while waiting for this tiny impossible or possible burgers the smell is Horrendous So I'm glad I tried this once. I can tell you, I will never try it again because the people were very rude, disgusting food, and smell. The lines are still way too long. Obviously the owners and the company itself in general have no idea what's going on with the climate change because of the waste of the multiple tiny little paper boxes covering these tiny little burgers. I am really hoping that the trend will keep going for having more vegetarian options within these larger fast food restaurants specifically McDonald's and Wendy's and I am also hoping that they will pick beyond burger rather than the impossible burger. So to make my long story longer I will have to say I will never try white castle again. I'm a buckeye and I am originally from Columbus Ohio. I never had it in Ohio. I only tried these obviously because they're offering a vegetarian option I just had these baby impossible burgers in scottsdale and I will not have another one. One of the best late night food stops ever created has finally made it to the valley. Let all slider worshipers rejoice in celebration! This is far and away the best White Castle I have ever been to. I'm from Detroit and am used to some pretty sketchy locations. You would put up with it in order to fulfill those burger cravings I'm sure anyone from the Midwest is familiar with. This location feels incredibly bright, clean, and open. There is a large patio outside where you can enjoy your food and consume an excessive amount of sliders. When I came to this location, it was within the first two weeks of opening. To say it was busy was an understatement. The drive-thru line wrapped around the block, and there was a Disney World level walk-in line outside. In the end, it took me three hours from entering the line to getting my food, but I'm sure that time has gone down since. As for the food, it's what you would expect. The sliders are always good, but they had some new things I was unfamiliar with, such as the 1921 Slider. This was more like your typical slider you might get in a restaurant. It has a larger patty, and lettuce/tomato. However, I find the original sliders preferable. The 1921 Slider feels too dry compared to the original. Many people have already made up their mind about White Castle or just love to hate. I'd like to strike a blow for White Castle lovers and say this is an amazing location, and if you're a Craver, you owe it to yourself to check it out! read more

Update: They reopened and it was fantastic. CLOSED due to oil spill as of 4:00 AM on Thursday, October 24. Call before you come. If nobody picks up, don't show up because they may be closed or super busy. Apparently it's so bad that many workers are standing around laughing. There are a few people that are cleaning up tables, however I've been told they are having different people cleaning the same tables at different times. I took some video, the tables look clean, the floors are clean, even the parking lot looks clean. They told us that they are not reopening until 9:00 AM, everybody knows it doesn't take 5 hours to clean up oil. You use a little cornstarch and it absorbs it. Well apparently they don't have any way to clean it up properly, which is why so many people are standing around. One of the workers let it slip out earlier that they will probably be done cleaning by 7:00 AM. 10 minutes later, a representative told us they decided they are not going to reopen until 9:00 AM. Unacceptable. If you have to restock let us know, I see there is a big truck outside but nobody is making trips to restock. read more

Let me start by saying I'm a big fan, grew up on Whiteys in Chicago. So happy to have this here in the Valley. However, this place has a lot of work to do. I ordered the #1, four sliders, fry & Orange Fanta. Burgers we not that hot, fries were warm at best. For how busy this place is nothing sits under a warmer, it should have been piping hot. The kitchen is chaotic, and that's understandable, considering the lines and drive thru. But they need to get orders correct. As I was waiting for my order, several customers came back up to the pick up counter to get their order corrected. Heard a lot of complaining while I sat and ate. Let's hope time will correct this, I'm willing to give them several (maybe hundreds) more chances. Nothin' like a bag of hot sliders, fries and an orange pop. read more

Listen, everyone may try and compare the real deal to their frozen dobbleganger but IT IS NOT A COMPARISON! I tried 4 sliders and my ratings for them: 1. Fish Slider 4.5/5 2. Chicken Ring Slider 4.2/5 3. Breakfast Slider w/ bacon 5/5 4. Classic Slider no cheese 3.8/5 1. It might just be me but I like fish sandwiches. It was perfectly cooked. The only downside would be the cheese. But all in all pretty good. 2. I was not expecting this to be as good as it was. With this sandwich, I recommend throwing their white castle hot sauce on it to add that extra flavor! 3. The egg was perfectly cooked and the bacon as well. Throw the hot sauce on it and you will stumble upon a 5/5 slider. 4. Its your usual slider. Nothing special All in all, I will be back to try almost every slider on the menu!
