1st time trying it and it was a disappointment. Paid $19 with 20% tip for an excessively sweet Sebastian with a breakfast sandwich. Ordered online, and receipt requested to call on arrival although I was already parked outside. Phone numbers listed on receipt and online are not working and got a busy tone while shop was obviously not that busy. Waited outside until the time my order was set to be received. Nobody came so I pulled up to the To Go area. A very attentive person came to my window right away and acknowledged my order for the first time. As soon as I got my order after several minutes I drove away. I took the first sip of my coffee several blocks away and to my surprise it was disgustingly sweet. I instantly regretted my choice to go to White Rhino. I forced a few more sips to see if I can tolerate it but no...I drove to McDonald's (since it was closer at this point) and ordered me a regular coffee from there instead. Stumbled across White Rhino Coffee every time I drive by the Cedar Hill area and honestly stopping by has been one of the best decisions I've made in a while. Starting off with just the look of the place, I love it. It's a great place for a date or just to study. It's not too big yet not small enough where you feel awkward and cramped. The environment definitely added to the experience. The customer service was phenomenal. As soon as my girlfriend and I walked in they were welcoming and helpful. Being our first time we didn't know what to get but the employee really helped us make our final selection. I ended up ordering the Cold War, a vanilla, Cubano espresso, which to me was so delicious. It was iced since the day was hot. It's a perfect drink to really get a taste of strong coffee without it being too overwhelming. My girlfriend got the Sebastian, which has a caramel, Irish cream and white chocolate, it's the perfect cup for someone who loves a sweet taste! Perfect pairing with the blueberry muffin. Been here a couple of times now! I really like this place. Their specialty coffees are really good! (you'll need to ask them to go heavier on the coffee and lighter on the milk - same as every other place around if you want real coffee drinks). The baristas are all really nice, give great suggestions and will make whatever you can think of. Love the little house that they're in, and the sitting area in the back! We were regulars here when our son was a newborn a few years back and every time we visit the area we must stop in. The signature lattes are delicious and they can be served either hot or cold. Since Texas weather can be so temperamental, this means you can have a latte for any season the state throws your way. I haven't tried many items off the food menu since they expanded it (used to only have pies and bakery items before), but I'm looking forward to doing so on my next trip. read more

It was a cold Sunday when we decided to venture out for some coffee to warm us up. Our regular hang outs were closed so we decided to check Yelp. White Rhino is easy to find and right off the street. It's located in a converted house with a nice big porch. Too bad it was cold outside otherwise that porch would make a great place to sit and sip some coffee. It was around 9 pm when we walked in. There were people sitting outside on the porch. People were sitting on the side of the house on picnic tables playing the guitar. People filled this business to the brim. There literally was not an empty seat. I ordered a white chocolate and my friend an americana. We sat outside in the cold waiting for a seat to become available. We didn't sit outside very long. A table opened up and we spent about an hour inside talking over coffee. The staff was courteous. The drinks were made to order in less than 15 mins. The atmosphere is very laid back and welcoming. They have snacks and some pie. I especially dig the drive up and order feature. I'll be trying that out on my next visit. So far I'm a fan but I might call ahead next time to ask if there are seats available. It's not fun sitting out in the cold! read more

Pair your drink with a slice from Emporium Pies and your trip here will be set. There's a decent amount of seating for this quaint coffee shop but you can always get your drink to-go if you're in a rush. Just park in their to-go parking spots adjacent to the store and a barista will come out to take your order. We are regulars here. Wonderful friendly staff who obviously enjoy working here. The coffee is always excellent and the bakery items (pumpkin bread, banana bread) make a hit with our baby. Breakfast tacos are excellent. Nice ambiance, with room to relax and hang out inside and out - it's in a converted old house. Sometimes it can be a little slow when it's crowded, which is often, but the staff work hard to get orders out ASAP. We'll keep coming back. read more

Dear White Rhino mgmt: it's time to expand. Proposed new location: Arlington. Arlington sucks and needs you!! And then later, Richardson! For as built up as both Arlington and Richardson are, they're both coffee shop deserts so the market is ripe! You're welcome for this free advice, just open the new shops soon, plz. Anyway, best beverage: cold war, an iced vanilla breve (breve=a latte made with half n half instead of milk) with an extra cubano shot (cubano=espresso brewed with demerara sugar). It's so clean and refreshing, just enough vanilla and sugar to be delightful, never cloying, and this drink has a higher espresso shot count than most of the drinks. I've been told that the sweet nothing, a honey cinnamon latte, also has the same number of espresso shots, and I've tried it but the cold war is still king for me personally. The Sebastian is very popular but I found it far too sweet for my tastes. Best baked goods: Reese's pb cookie, and Emporium pies. I've never seen anyone order normal food from here, just baked goods and coffee. The staff is incredibly friendly and I have yet to see anyone here make any order error of any type. Nobody's perfect.. but these people are good. I always feel a *teeeeensy* bit out of place here being a regular old UTA student when apparently like 97% of their patrons and also staff are DBU affiliated, but whatevs, haha. If loud, near constant conversations about people's religious testimonies and personal relationships with Jesus bother you, well, you're in luck because they offer a drive-up to-go service (in lieu of a drive through)! Just pull into one of the covered parking spots and they will come out promptly to your window and take your order! But if you're cool with that and/or bring headphones, you're also in luck, because the interior of the shop is lovely and it's a great place to spend some time! It's small, but somehow I always seem to find a place to sit and study. Probably because everyone is willing to crowd in and share a table with a stranger. Tons of people study here and we all know the drill - so don't be afraid to ask someone if you can sit with them. :) There is often live music on Saturday and Sunday nights which is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your perspective and how much homework you have, haha. read more

I love this adorable little coffee house! We were in Cedar Hill on a Sunday afternoon, and after a day of disc golf at Lester Lorch park we were pretty beat and ready for some caffeine. We stopped here, and immediately loved the little cottage. Stepping inside, it felt like a friend's living room. People were relaxing on couches and in arm chairs, chatting and playing board games, while others were working on laptops at a few tables. Such a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. All of their goodies looked delicious! They had cookies, muffins, pumpkin bread...I'm not sure what they make there and what they bring in, but one thing they do bring in (and I'm glad they do) is Emporium Pie! Nice to know there another place I can go to get that mind-blowing pie. Everyone we spoke to was super friendly and helpful. They have a huge list of Signature Drinks, which are different latte flavors that they mix themselves. I decided to try the Snickerdoodle Latte, which was vanilla, hazelnut and cinnamon. It was scrumptious! Sweet, but not too sweet, with a great rich flavor. Other cool things: They have free wifi, lots of White Rhino merchandise, and an open mic night. I'm not a coffee drinker but I love this coffee shop. It's such a cute place near downtown Cedar Hill. It's often busy and filled with students studying or groups meeting or just friends catching up. There is a variety of drinks for anyone (even if you don't drink coffee). I love the Chai tea. It has so much flavors with the various spices. It's also amazingly good cold. They also sell sandwiches, desserts and other treats. They provide free wifi and a computer for people to use if they don't have their own. There are limited seats however there are some available outside for one to enjoy the change in weather while sipping on something hot. They also have an affordable VIP program that allows you to get 10% off of your purchase and they email you specials. The VIP membership never expires. The staff is friendly also. This is not the place to go if you are in a rush. It can sometimes take up 10 minutes for your order. They also have a drive up section so you don't have to get out of your car. I had searched for a while for a GOOD coffee. Finally I found one in Cedar Hill. I ordered a cup of pour over. I chose 'Cheer' which blended Guatemala and Ethiopia. The quality of coffee was a good! I assumed the coffee bean was longer than 3 weeks but the taste was good enough and supposted to be. Nice mood and decorations makes cozy inside. Few benches and chairs outside for relaxation and group fellowships. To go pickup station would be a handy route for commuters. The design of disposable cup was decent! I liked it but coffee leaks and got wet from the top after a while. Still works though:) I definitely recommend this White Rhino for coffee lovers. I love coming to this little coffee place, it's very quaint and different. It has a great comfortable atmosphere inside and outside. I wish it was a bit bigger inside, because it can get full pretty quickly. Their array of coffee flavor choices are also nice, Not just your regular caramel, vanilla flavors like at your local starbucks - but also they have one that has Lavender that is absolutely delicious. Their fresh pastries are also really good. Sweet and fresh, both a great combination. This used to be my hang out place and I used to buy a lot of drinks here but in the past two years the prices have almost doubled and the cup sizes have gotten smaller and customer satisfaction is not their top priority like it was before...yes the coffee is a bit better than before but I can find better coffee at Davis St. espresso and for less money and great customer service. The "New Rhino" is more focused in making more profit than making customers happy, they recently brought in new furniture to fit more people inside (big tables with stools all around) if you like a super crowded place and can hear other peoples breathing than this is the place for you, but if you need your space just go outside, they are also getting rid of the VIP program (again to increase profit and they don't care what the customers think) It seems like they want to get rid of the old customers and replace them with new sheeple that have no idea what a good customer experience or good value for your money should be like. Love this place! My BFF and I stopped by one evening while passing through town. We loved that you could drive up and a "coffee attendant" would bring your order out "sonic" style. However, we didn't want to miss out on what was inside the quaint coffee house. It had a very homey feel. While waiting for our latte we found a chalkboard to write on. This is a great people watching place:). But more importantly, it's the perfect place to chat with a great friend.
