I recently visited the White Rhino in Cedar Hill. Since I don't care for their coffee, I got a sweet foam iced coffee. The barista who took my order, and whose name I don't know, was a young black woman with many facial piercings. After paying for the drink, and putting some sweetener in my cup, I tasted the beverage. It tasted like bad, watered down coffee with an odd tasting foam on top. I decided to take the beverage back inside to see if I could get an additional pump of syrup. When I told her the drink had little flavor and could I get an additional pump of syrup, she didn't answer me and started over to the other side of the counter leaving me to wonder if she'd heard me or if she had left me to serve myself. I soon realized she'd misunderstood what I'd asked for, as she began to make a new drink for me. I said that wasn't necessary and that I'd asked for another pump of syrup. This made her visibly frustrated and, she took one of the syrup bottles, pumped whatever was in that bottle into my cup all the while with an attitude that I was bothering her. When I went back outside where my friend was, waiting, I tasted the drink and it was still awful! At that moment, i dumped it on the ground and vowed never to go back. There were a lot of positive ways she could have chosen to handle this situation as a "server", but she chose not to. Her poor attitude towards me was unexceptable! So I've decided I will NEVER go back to that White Rhino! This woman is in much need of an attitude adjustment and serious customer service training. read more

My hubby & I absolutely this place.!!! Their coffee is absolutely delicious. We moved to Texas from Cali & looked for that was comparable to Dutch Bros because we the flavor of their coffee. This place is definitely comparable to them... especially with the hospitality. I've tried the Whole Latte Love & the Sebastian & both are delish with just the perfect amount of sweetness & flavor. Tried the Breakfast Tacos with Chorizo & I gotta say they were very delish ! I expected the chorizo taste to be strong & I'm sooo happy it was NOT. It was a perfect balance where I actually tasted the chorizo AND the egg & cheese. Oops...I forgot to take a pic because I enjoyed it so much ! This is a cute little coffee shop with a busy parking lot! I was in need of a pick me up so I stopped by... I like that they have designated parking for take out! The baristas come to your car and take your order. I wanted to go in but Texas people are borderline ready to fight if you're not wearing a mask so I ordered from the car.Barista was fast and really nice,so I asked her what was the best seller on the menu and she said it was the" Sebastian" so I said I'll go with it! I shouldn't have....it wasn't good to me. I should have stuck with my go to off coffee,cream and raw sugar. I think I may have given a higher rating had I done that. read more

Such a quaint cafe to be at on a beautifully-crisp day in mid-October. The only reason I was out here poking around in Cedar Hill was because I was carpooling some people to a volunteering event 20 minutes out and wanted a nice place to study with the bf for a couple hours. White Rhino Coffee is a bright, clean, and rustic cafe that also serves one of my favorite pie establishments ever - Emporium Pies - among many interesting combinations of sweets, lattes and other drinks that will surely impress. I love finding small, local cafes and taking the time to try something new. My adventure today was in the form of a minty latte, called Minty Situation (I believe so, not 100% sure of the name) and it was divine. Not too sweet but sweet enough for my morning to lift up. Also, I grabbed me a slice of the Smooth Operator pie and it was just like the Emporium Pies' slices in Bishop Arts District. Maybe a little less creamy/fresh, but that's okay to me because at least there's such straight-forward parking spaces here as opposed to in Oakcliff haha. If I ever find myself nearby (like after a nice hike in Cedar Hill Ridge Preserve) I'm definitely checking out more lattes, especially in the coming of winter. I was surprised to find out about this place from Groupon. Wouldn't have thought about driving to Cedar Hill if it wasn't for this little discovery, nice area, just not where I usually hang out at. From the outside, they have plenty of parking spaces, even couple designated to go spots, where u just pull ur car in, and someone will be out to take ur order. I haven't used that service, but it seems neat. There are several outdoor tables, right in front of the coffee shop, out in the front yard, back yard, and on the side, would be perfect to sit outside when the weather permits it. Indoor seating is very limited however. It seems cramped up almost. Each time I come here, there'd be at least several college students coming here to study. It'd be nice if it was more spacious inside. Onto the main thing, coffee. I have tried several different coffees they have to offer. The flavor is not bad, but the taste and texture are not exactly my cup of tea, or in this case, coffee. The latte is not smooth and creamy enough. Same thing with the blended drink. It tastes somewhat water down. I finally got the chance to try the emporium pies that they offer here for the very first time. That by itself, was worth the drive. The baristas and most of the customers here seem pretty nice and friendly. I want to like this place so much, but not completely happy with my cup of coffee kinda makes it hard to love them. I'll come back here if I want some pies or coffee late at night, since they stay open so late. Maybe not coffee, but try something different next time. read more

As I drive pass by this coffee shop too often and I never had a chance to stop... So today is the day I will stop my car and give this coffee shop a try. As I walk through the front door I was impress because there were plenty of customers lounging around. So my first thought was this must be a very good coffee place to try. I approach to the counter to look at the menu of course 3 girls behind the counter didn't even acknowledge me at all. I decided to order a iced latte and a black iced coffee w an extra shot of esspresso. I got my coffees and gave it a try. OMG!!! Are you serious.... We were in the area so we decided to get some cake to flush out al the sweets we just had at the cake guys :D. They have tons of different flavored lattes you can try, they even have flavored coffee. There's plenty of seats available for sitting and they even have an outside patio to enjoy your java on a nice day. I loved the to go drive in concept they have. You just pull up to the covered parking spots, and someone will be outside to get your order! I ended up trying a latte with irish cream and vanilla with soy milk. It was awesome. Great spot in a convenient location. Not too far from highway after you exit. They don't have a drive thru but they have a drive up and to go order which is cool. They have a barista come out to the car, however there is no menu to view when you pull up. Thankfully I looked up the menu ahead of time but if I didn't, then what? I had the chai latte. I'm a Starbucks fan, and no one will ever miss that little fact about me. However, I am also a low-level coffee snob who likes a good cup made from beans that Starbucks doesn't even seem to know about. For that reason, I sometimes go to local coffeehouses that aren't slaves to corporate standards. The offerings are usually a little pricier, if not in the same neighborhood as Starbucks' pricing model, but as the quality is usually much better, I don't mind. White Rhino is convenient for me, especially since everyone living in Cedar Hill is usually at Starbucks when I want to get my caffeine fix. You've seen the lines, so you know exactly what I'm talking about. White Rhino's coffee has a quality that other coffeehouses can't seem to touch. Regardless of which drink I order, the flavor is has more depth, and is never hidden by sugar or the other ingredients. Their pour-over coffee is pure aces, and I'm afraid that I'll never find a coffeehouse that can compete with it. I'm currently addicted to the Sebastian with coconut milk, and highly recommend it. The pastries are pretty decent. I think they're shipped from the larger store in Waxahachie, but that doesn't affect the quality or the freshness. I wish they could offer the same small plates that the other store does, however. Service is king for me, and in this area, it's hard to find a business that offers great service consistently. That's not an issue at White Rhino. Each barista takes the time to learn your name, drink preferences, and seems to be genuinely happy to see you when you visit. Also, they are quick to make suggestions based on what you usually order, and if you don't like it, will happily make something else for you. The building itself is awesome. The area White Rhino sits in is still semi-residential, and they are located in a house that was converted into a restaurant. There are two main seating areas inside, but as it can get kind of cramped during peak periods, finding a place to sit can be challenging. If you're the type who likes to sit outside and people-watch, the patio offers some relief. If I had any gripes about White Rhino, it would be the tiny parking lot. It can sometimes be frustrating to find a spot, to say the least. It's a situation easily remedied by parking at the library less than a block away, but still, it's a little annoying. read more

The eggs were fluffy and the chorizo's flavor was intense. Very well balanced. They know what they are doing when it comes to coffee too.
