White's is another diner featured in a 2013 book, "Classic Diners of Connecticut" by Garrison Leykam. Manufactured in 1957 by dining car maker, De Raffele, it has all the "bones" of diners of the past... plenty of stools and booths and stainless steel and glitz. So on another perfect day, drove the 70+ miles to the B'port train station to collect best friend, Hopalong Casualty, formerly known as Zagbolt. White's is only a couple of miles from the station. Smallish parking lot on a busy thoroughfare. We were seated at a booth by Carolina, who attended to all our culinary needs and kept coming w the coffee. I ordered a CBH omelet w grits and rye toast. HC ordered a small stack of pecan pancakes, a side order of sausage, a side order of CBH and two eggs over. I guess he wasn't that hungry. Especially since he tried to give me most of his CBH and sausages when they arrived. My omelet was a bit overcooked w not that much hash, compared to a lot of other diners. The grits, however, were outstanding. Very tasty and smooth. HC shoveled most of his food very quickly, although he did bring a lot of CBH home to his wife, "the breathtaking Maria". We agreed the CBH was from a can. Overall, service was great, prices VERY reasonable, and it brought us back in time to visit a vintage '57 diner. 4 stars

Whites diner. It was the first diner I have gone to here in Bridgeport. We came here and got a traditional American breakfast. Blueberry pancakes, bacon egg sausage, and homefries with toast and coffee. The waitress was tentative, the environment was clean, and my lady gave me some history on the ownership of this diner. I ate almost everything. I enjoyed the blueberry pancakes the most. I would love to come back and have breakfast here again.

The staff was friendly and the food was quick. I enjoyed everything. I loved seeing how the place had many regulars! Grits tasted so good. I like the short stack but I was not a fan of the batter. It seemed to thick for my taste. It was nice to hangout with my husband and talk for hours.

Pancake combo & veggie omelette that came with home fries. Comes with OJ & coffee

The boyfriend & I came to Bridgeport to look for apartments. We got hungry & searched for a brunch spot. After seeing a lot of nice pictures on yelp for White's Diner, I decided to try it out! The food came out quickly, was reasonably priced, and tasted good! I ordered the veggie omelette special (came with home fries & toast) and the pancake combo (came with scrambled eggs, bacon, tiny OJ & coffee). We both ate well & didn't feel so heavy afterwards. The pancakes were really great. I should've taken some to go. This is a great, quick breakfast spot! Paid $20 for the entire experience.

Outside has plenty of tables that wrap from the front of the shop around this side. This is high-level, social media friendly decor. Service was good overall. Coffee service was very quick. But breakfast sandwich orders were going to take 45 minutes. Raise eyebrows for sure. Looking back they set the bar low. It maybe took 20 minutes. But know that on a gorgeous summer morning, it might take a minute to get your breakfast sandwiches. The food was very good. The BEACH sandwich was tasty and filling. The iced coffee was very good as well. The fresh baked goods looked amazing. Overall, Harborview Market is highly recommended. It's a place that looks like you want to love it - if that makes sense. But it is a great spot. Off hours might be the smart approach as this place (rightfully) gets packed.

Parking is street parking only, so be prepared for that. The biggest downside was the service timing. We felt a bit rushed to place our order, but then waited about 45 minutes for the food to arrive. When it finally came out, the food was cold. The flavors were actually really good, and you could tell the food had potential, but it definitely would have been much better served warm. Overall, it's a cute place with a nice vibe, but the long wait and cold food made the experience a little disappointing.

Mine was not cut, not sure why but super tasty with tender duck meat! I also tried the pork belly bao buns: pork belly, picked onions and chimichurri and avocado. Firstly, I have no idea who the Parkers are - let alone where they live, but whoever/wherever they are big fist bump on their rolls. What makes them so good? Butter. Just a little butter to crisp up the roll elevates these breakfast sandwiches. 5-start effort. The ok- service was friendly and helpful but took longer than I thought - especially based on the customer volume. Looked like a lot of hands in the kitchen but not super efficient back there. It wasn't a long wait- just a bit longer than I thought it should be for two breakfast sammies. It's a small spot. Clean, bright, some flavor. It was too nice out to eat inside. The yellow jackets thought so too. I had a few bites and left b/c I didn't want to deal with them. Overall, I'll be back. Fantastic breakfast sandwiches and looking forward to trying more things. I hadn't been to Black Rock in decades - love to see so many interesting looking spots open.

They provide a table hook to hang purses and wristlets from the side of the table - that is quite the treat! First time customers are given samples of their fountain beverages and we were also given a sample pineapple mocktail. The complimentary salsa was thick with a really nice spicy flavor. The sweet potato pancakes were warm & fluffy with just the right amount of cinnamon and the Vegan Brunch was substantial, coming with two sides of vegan sausage and bacon. The tofu eggs were scrambled with a tasty creamy spice. The owner is very personable and pleasant, speaking with us about our vegan journey. Such a wonderful Sunday brunch!

The only reason I would remove a star is the service. The restaurant wasn't very busy (just one or two other tables) but our appetizers came out at the same time as our main dishes, and we had to go up to the counter to ask for a water refill. On a positive note, the owner came out to introduce herself, and she was absolutely lovely. She shared a bit about how she and her husband started the restaurant, which gave the place a really warm, personal touch. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the food, but I hope the hostess and waitstaff can be a bit more attentive in the future. The menu is also extensive and has a lot of options!
