Whites Chicken Little is a legend in Jackson. At one point in the 80's they had 3 locations in Jackson and some in Lansing. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had from a fast food place. When I think of fried chicken this place is the gold standard. A little greasy, but the delicious taste more than makes up for it.

This is a pretty good place. Definitely better than national chains like KFC and Popeyes. I'd give it four stars except some times the chicken seems fresher than others. By that I mean sometimes you get fried chicken that's a little too crispy from sitting under a lamp too long. This is rare though. When it's on point it's excellent as it is very moist and juicy. Sides are good. I've never got the fish but I know people who swear by it. They've been open in Jackson for many years so they must be doing something right. read more

We've driven by so many times, and decided to give it a try. Best fried chicken I've ever had. My husband tried the perch and it was moist and very tasty. The only negative comment I have is that they were understaffed when we stopped in for dinner this past week, but service was still pretty good. read more

I thought i would treat my friends and family to a nice chicken dinner, so what better place than Whites? Was i mistaken, i placed a delivery order for the shrimp dinner a couple chicken dinners both with mashed potatoes and gravy. Not only did the delivery take two hours with only two orders in front of mine (according to the girl that took the order) but they also sent fries instead of the mash potatoes. So my question is how hard is really to get a order correct and in a timely fashion. This experience has me giving second thoughts on my former favorite cheese steak in town. read more

Ridiculously good Chicken. Good everything. Our family had the chicken baskets with mashed potatoes, chicken cutlets with potato salad, a Coney with fries, and a cheese steak hoagie. The chicken is just the best. Sides were delicious. Hoagie doesn't look like much, but has great flavor. And the coney...well, if you're from Jackson, you know. Why one can only find a delicious Jackson-style coney inside of Jackson, I will never understand, but it is true. Oh, we also got an order of the fried mushrooms. Really good, not overly doughy like so many places tend to serve. Ah, I miss Jackson. Can't wait to visit my old hometown again, and we will definitely hit Whites again. read more

I bought take out last night. It was very good, and very nice portions for two chicken dinners. I did not call it in, but they had it ready in 10 minutes, and didn t miss anything. The staff was very friendly, kept checking to see if I was helped. I loved the number of different items on the menu! The wings were SOOO much better than the fried-from-frozen, wizened, overcoated, cornish-hen-sized version that overpriced WS dishes out. We ordered delivery from White's and I will never order from them again. The food took over an hour to get delivered and they forgot the pies. Very poor service! I was considering having cater my wedding but obviously that's not going to happen either. read more

Preordering lunch makes for a great work week! Fish basket with beans and potatoes breaks up the routine quick lunches. Highly recommend this restaurant for small meals and catering services! Only downfall is limited eat in space and if you do stay you will leave smelling of grease. read more

Had the 2piece chicken cutlet dinner with 2 sides and a dinner roll. I chose the mashed potatoes/gravy and the green beans. I ate in. Service was great even though the server was also working the register. The chicken was hand breaded cooked perfect and moist (nice sized serving). The beans were nice and hot and did not appear to be sitting in a steam table. Mashed was pretty typical but again nice and hot. Would definitely get the cutlets again but probably would be different if you got them as take-out wouldn't be likely as crispy. Pretty filling lunch for 6.75 plus tax and tip if eating in. read more

Awesome food & service! I had the breaded chicken cutlets they were excellent. Husband had 4 piece chicken dinner. Both meals and sides were good. Staff very friendly and attentive. They were very busy with sit down,take out and delivery. It is not a fancy place but the food is much better than a lot of more expensively priced restaurants. I eat at Whites as often as I can and have never had a bad meal! Its always cooked when ordered and never before hand. Great Service also!

We had a chicken dinner and cod dinner and split it. I had the breast piece dinner. The coating was thin, not crisp, but was very tasty. Similar to KFC original coating. The cod was awesome! Crisp like Long John, but fresher. It is a must. The coleslaw was very good and so were the hush puppies. I will try the other chicken dinners, to see how the batter is next time. When in doubt...get the cod dinner and you cant go wrong!! read more
