The food is A FLAVOR BOMB! Everything I've tried here has been really good. The downside is parking since it is on a busy street but I don't mind just to get my hands on this food . SO GOOD!

I started ordering from Ackee Bamboo about a month ago, and I can't stop! The oxtails are seriously so good they're incredibly tender, fall right off the bone, and are so juicy. Everything is seasoned perfectly and packed with flavor. I keep telling myself I'm going to try something different, but the oxtails are just too addictive to pass up. I can't wait to work my way through the rest of the menu because if it's anything like the oxtails, I'm sure it'll be amazing.

Just received my DoorDash order. Curry jackfruit and Veggie Curry Soup!!! Omg it was extremely amazing! It got to me super hot and tasted soooo fresh. I am soooo satisfied. I haven't had a meal this wonderful in a long time via delivery. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to this meal. Please know it is very much appreciated. Thank you

So happy Ackee Bamboo Jamaican Cuisine is back, and now in a beautiful new home on Robertson. This has always been one of my staple spots for Jamaican food, and the new location delivers the same great flavor with an even better setup. I called my order in ahead of time, and they told me it'd be about 15 minutes. Perfect, since I live about that far. When I arrived, I only waited about five minutes in the lobby before my food came out piping hot. I ordered two large oxtail plates, and they were everything they needed to be: tender, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. Each plate came with rice and peas, plantain, and veggies, all cooked perfectly. I also grabbed a side of jerk chicken, which came with three pieces and had great heat and seasoning. Everything tasted amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The new space is clean, bright, and thoughtfully set up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a lobby area for waiting and a seated area on the left if you want to dine in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went on a rainy Saturday night, so it wasn't busy, but the hospitality and quality were still on point. After being closed for a while, it's so good to have Ackee Bamboo back, and with the same recipes we love. Ten out of ten.

We're lucky to have an abundance of Jamaican spots in LA. I've never been to a Jamaican restaurant where the food was disappointing. But Ackee Bamboo's jerk chicken and curry goat are next level. The meats. It's all about the meats. They are so tender and flavorful. We're talking slow-cooked, fall-off-the-bone, juicy deliciousness. It's a good idea to call ahead if you're hungry. We called about 15 minutes ahead and waited another 15 minutes when we arrived. The woman up front was nothing but friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's an easy-to-miss, small, hole-in-the-wall joint with a few tables inside and outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But we couldn't care less about the atmosphere. It's all about how good the food is. And my wife and I loved and devoured our meal. We'll be back!

A friend said that Ackee Bamboo has the best Jamaican food in LA so I pulled up to find out. When I took my first bite of jerk chicken I was absolutely blown away by the flavor. My friend didn't lie, Ackee Bamboo has the best Jamaican food in LA. My beef patty was super fresh and crispy. I can't wait to return to try more dishes! Customer service was on point too! Thanks for the delicious Sunday dinner!

I ordered the small oxtail plate. As you can see, it's more than enough. What a hidden gem! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This small Caribbean restaurant may be modest in size, but it's very clean and offers a peaceful, comfortable place to dine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was served hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. Every bite was delicious. If you're looking for authentic Caribbean food made right, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Large oxtail plate was so good. Delicious, fresh food. Very flavorful. Meaty oxtail and not a bunch of bones. I only took off a star because my festival was a tad undercooked but I'm sure they were just doing their best to get my order out quickly. If i hadn't ordered takeout and noticed once I had already left, I would have mentioned it and I'm positive they would have replaced it. It was so good tho, best festival I've had minus the little rawness in the middle. The coconut crunch cake (I think that's what she called it?) really sealed the deal for me. It was delicious!!!! Very happy to see an La staple like this on the west side. I will be back!!

Four stars only because I wish the meat pies had more meat in them. The meat was more like a soupy sauce base with an underlying heat to it that limited me from enjoying the flavor. The crust was flaky yet firm and still moist enough yet dry enough. It was served warm and seemed fresh. That's all I got this time. Will be back. Saw lots of dishes on the tables that looked nummy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of seating in a Sat night around dinner time. Tables of 2-4. Seating is inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Next time I may order ahead as the kitchen seems small and limited labor so may want to plan ahead. Parking not too bad on the street. Service was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience is chill casual diner like.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We ordered right before closing via 3rd party and it came faster than we expected. It was hot and fresh. I ordered the jackfruit jerk platter however I didn't receive any jackfruit, just the veggies. It was too spicy for me but really flavorful. If extra spicy is your thing, go for it. I paired it with mash potatoes to cut some of the spice because the rice and peas wasn't enough to cut the spice. I would definitely ordered from here again and look forward to trying other meatless options next time.

    Woot!

I got there with my mother and was greeted by a very lovely gentleman named Clark. He told us we could sit wherever so we seated ourselves in the outside area. He came over right away with the menus and asked if we had been there before to which we responded had not. He went over the menu with us and answered any questions we had regarding the menu. He was very sociable and friendly. We chatted with him and put in an order for the Kiwi Chowder. I ordered a Modelo and my mother ordered a glass of orange blend wine. He came over with the drinks a while later and the Kiwi chowder and have us plenty of time to sit and enjoy the dish before we ordered our main courses. The kiwi chowder was delicious and came with little crackers. The clams and mussels were so tasty and the Ora King Salmon was a nice treat. After a while he came back and served me the Fisherman's Mixed Basket and my mother got the Fish tacos with fish of the day for them being Sword Fish. The fisherman's basket was amazing and paired perfectly with my beer. I had never had clams, mussels, snapper, and oysters all together and they were so good I wish I could have them more frequently. The place was very cute and sat quietly with good music playing. Not current music but music that really fit the place and set the vibe. I will be coming back here and if you ever go, there is no bad choice for the fish, the service is stupendous and I haven't gotten anything like it in forever, and if you meet Clark enjoy a friendly conversation with him.

Very rich and indulgent broth. Fatty and creamy. That's what you want. Descent amount of clams too. The fried fish was best I have had in LA. Thick batter, juicy fish inside, and audible CRUNCH when you bit in. Superbly done. The lobster roll and crab salad lacked flavor and felt previously frozen. I would not repeat those. If that was fresh lobster and crab they need to talk to their fish supplier. Both had no taste. Not "bad" or "fishy," but that much lobster claw and knuckle meat should taste sweet. Even rich. The crab was the same way. Deff claw and not lump. Nice environment and kind waitress. Lots of old people. Nothing wrong with that. Went for lunch. Made me miss my grandparents lol lots of shouting without anger AKA bad hearing aids. Oyster sampler was half really good - and half "meh." We ordered the oysters, clam chowder, mussels and the miso cod. Everything was cooked perfectly (minus the raw oysters, ofc) and so delicious. You could really tell that everything was very fresh. My only complaints are that I felt like the oyster garnishing (if that's what they're called) could've been slightly better. Nothing stood out to me and that's what I personally look forward to when I have oysters. The meal also took a very long time. I think it may have been due to the fact that it was a Sunday and we came between the lunch and dinner rush? Service was very friendly and kept apologizing about the delay. Asked him if he wanted to go get a bite. I told him let's find somewhere that has Salmon. Since it was late afternoon, I didn't think there would be any chance to find something good. I yelped Seafood Near Me and Lonzo's Peruvian Restaurant popped up. We looked at the pictures and the food looked good. I was eyeing that Crispy Salmon. We drove three miles and got there around three pm. When we arrived there was plenty of parking on the street. As we walked up to the door, it didn't look like they were open. My son tugged at the door and it was locked. Just as we were walking away a young woman came to open the door. She said they were having a meeting, but they were open for service. We were seated in the front of the restaurant. They also had a huge dining room on the side. The young lady served us some fresh bread with this delicious green sauce. She took our drink order. I had a plain ice tea and my son had a Peruvian soda called "Inka Kola" My son kept raving about the bread and green sauce. It was good. We decided to try the Grilled Spanish Octopus as an appetizer, my son ordered the Arroz Chaufa/Fillet Mignon, and I got the Crispy Salmon. Before I go any further I just want to say that each dish's presentation was TOP NOTCH. (See Attached Photos) When I first saw the Grilled Octopus, I thought damn this looks so good I don't want to cut it. I told my son to take the first bite. The look on his face was priceless. He said, "Mom this SLAPS!" I cut off a piece and it was so tender, it melted in my mouth. We got our entrees and I must say again my plate was BEAUTIFUL! When they say CRISPY SALMON they meant it. Both the skin and the meat had a crispy texture. The Quinoa was very good. The side salad had little vegetables that were cut star shaped. The salad's ingredients (apples, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados) were so good I barely used the dressing. I just ate it. I must admit I was hungry, I cleaned my plate. I haven't eaten like this in a while. The portion sizes were just right. My son loved his fried rice, although he said it was a bit salty. He had a second, Inka Soda. He told me , "Mom, we found a new place near my house. I will definitely be coming back here!" Y'all don't sleep on Lonzo's Peruvian Restaurant. It was worth every penny! We will be back!

What a wonderful surprise…read more I live just around the corner from Jamaica Bay Inn, and for whatever reason, it took me far too long to finally have dinner here with family and friends. I wish I'd discovered it sooner. The restaurant overlooks Mother's Beach, and the setting is exactly what you'd hope for: peaceful, relaxed, and quintessential Marina del Rey. You almost expect the view to be the highlight... Then the food shows up. For appetizers, we shared the hummus plate and the calamari. Both were excellent. As someone whose kids were practically raised eating seafood around the ports of New England, calamari is one of those deceptively simple dishes we judge pretty harshly. Beachside absolutely passed the test. I ordered the cheeseburger, which was solid, but the real stars of the evening were the roasted Jidori chicken and the jumbo shrimp fettuccine. The chicken was perfectly juicy, something that sounds easy but surprisingly few restaurants consistently get right. The shrimp fettuccine completely stole the show. In fact, it's now become my daughter's regular takeout order, and she's easily the toughest pasta critic in our family. Congratulations... you've officially earned the title of our favorite pasta spot in the Marina. The service was another highlight. Our server spoke both German and Italian, had a great sense of humor, and made the evening feel warm and effortless. Between the location, the food, and the hospitality, I already know this is going to become one of our regular family dinner spots.

We didn't tell him there were any issues, because once the decision was made to stay, why ruin his holiday too? lol Ordered coffee. Dreadful. Ok, no big deal. The food came out and I could immediately SEE The Unappetizing . It's special when you can tell that your food is going to be bad before you take one bite. The French toast was Sahara dry, burned and flavorless. The chicken, was competing with it in the dry and flavorless category-- I really can't say which was worse. I don't really use hot sauce and I drowned the tenders in Cholula just to make it halfway edible. Literally we could have waited for the AMC chicken tenders and they would have been better, which is horrifying. Particularly when you try to avoid fried food in general and now you are poisoning your body for no good reason. Husband ordered a steak and eggs, medium well. I'll attach the picture and I'll let you be the judge of whether or not it was cooked properly. Eggs were not good either. Immediately, I gave hubby more than half my plate because he eats All of Everything that's put in front of him. Something would have to get up and walk off his plate for him to not eat it. He was taught not to waste food, period. The exception was steak so that he could take it home, cook it, and then eat it. This was possibly the worst meal I've ever had, and certainly on a special occasion.
