Concerns: Wed. July 8th, I decided to celebrate my birthday at Wi-Spa. At check I submitted my Driver's License the Latina Clerk scanned my license and #1, made no mention of my birthday. I shared with her I had a body scrub appointment and she swiped my card and gave me the check in items. Midway during my body scrub, I could hear #2 teenagers talking loud and disrupting the peace and tranquillity of the women's only level. Management and owners should really enforce this rule. As a teacher of 32 years, I want to escape noise when I am at a spa. The management really needs to offer hours or window of times for adults only. My services for the body scrub were nice, however #3 request for a tip was a bit pushy. And, my reason for submitting this review was my last two interactions of the evening. It cost me $33.00 for a green tea, veggie egg rolls and a dark chocolate raspberry ice cream bar at the restaurant. Nice, hot and fresh food. However, the eldest female Asian lady's demeanor was quite stark and cold to work in customer service. I asked for a #4 to-go box and she said it cost a $1.00. I said of course it would. During check out I went over my bill $185.00 plus $33. I stated to the same Latina who checked me in , so #5 they are charging me a $1.00 for the to-go-box. She said, "Yes." I said, "Does WiSpa offer anything for birthdays because today is my actual birthday. I gave you my driver's license when I checked in you did not say anything. She said, #6 "No, We just scan it." I proceeded to pay my bill and she said, "Thank you." I said, " Happy Birthday to me." I took time to compose this review because I want to patronize Asian own businesses l, however most times I am treated shrewdly and often overcharged for basic services. The price is now $40, which feels steep since the spa hasn't really improved. The facility is looking a bit rundown -- I've seen brown stains in the wet areas, weird smells coming from the Jacuzzis, and there's usually something broken every time I visit. On top of that, spa etiquette, especially on weekends, can be pretty much nonexistent. If they're going to raise prices by over 30%, you'd expect some upgrades or better maintenance. Visited Wi Spa in LA and it truly exceeded my expectations. When I first arrived, the front desk was very crowded, which felt a bit overwhelming at first. However, an employee named Minwoo stepped in to help, and he really stood out. He seemed like a manager, not necessarily by title, but because he was noticeably more professional and kind than the other front desk staff. He carefully went over each of my reserved services and explained how to prepare and where to go in a very clear and easy-to-understand way. It made the whole experience much smoother, especially for a first-time visit. After using the sauna, I spent time in the co-ed jimjilbang area, which had a relaxing and authentic atmosphere. I also received a skincare treatment and an acupressure service, and both were very satisfying. Later, I had a meal at the restaurant with friends, and we went up to the rooftop to get some fresh air. The patio area was nicely set up, and the cool breeze made it a perfect place to relax and unwind. This was my first time and first experience going to a spa. This facility is open 24 hours. On the Main street it looked like it's closed but, I believe that is the back side of the establishment. You will have to turn the corner and enter through the parking lot. Parking is a fee of $4 for the day but the parking can get a little packed so try and aim for an early time. We arrived around 11 AM and walked in. We were greeted at the counter but wasn't given a tour. I had to let her know it was my first time, and we didn't know what we were doing. The staff member just told us where we could change at and was asked if we wanted to book anymore services, we politely declined. We were wrong, we should of book a service instead of trying later. Sorry, forgot to mention it's $40 for the day, once you leave you have to pay again but you have unlimited time inside. With the $40 you get: Entry, shirt, shorts, slippers and excess to all three floors. We adventured off to the women's side of the facility. The spa had multiple showers, pools, full size mirrors, toothbrushes, massage chairs, a little store for things you might need. Once we changed into out of our clothes we attempted to get to the main floor by elevator and it wasn't working for us, so we had to use the stairs. I have a knee problem so using the stairs can be difficult of certain days. On the main floor there are 6 six rooms. Start for the hottest room and work your way down. We didn't know that so we were just jumping from room to room after a while. We did try the snack shack for a snack but sweating and resting is a workout that I NEVER knew could be done. We are so hungry and thirsty. We tried to go and reserve times for a massage but they were booked until 7PM and it was only 3PM so we decided to leave but we are definitely coming back. read more

Overall, the spa was still relaxing, though not the cleanest--likely due to the holiday and 24/7 nature. It does get very crowded. That said, I really enjoyed the ice and jade rooms, and I appreciated the valet security--it made me feel safer walking to my car late at night. The staff at both the front desk and restaurant were very friendly. Wi Spa is a bit of a drive for me, and with so many other Korean spas in the area, I plan to keep exploring. Full service Korean spa with multi-levels of rejuvenation and healing. Quality, cleanliness and overall service has definitely gone down since its original opening but until another comparable spa opens, this has been my go-to. They have the best unisex common area that my husband and I like to hang out. Our biggest complaints is that the cleanliness has gone down, they need to hire more people to clean and they need to make some updates. It feels like they have been using the same nasty towels they've had since they opened. The towels are thinned out and have stains and discoloration. You can really feel the age and I've found hair stuck to them on a few occasions. (Long blond hair that I don't have) We need more larger towels to be more readily available. Robes are rarely available and if you find one, often they are missing the ties and feel oddly sticky. The facility needs better signs that emphasize the spa rules. Mainly that YOU MUST .... MUST MUST shower first before entering any hot tub or any of the rooms. So gross watching people go directly into the hot tubs without washing.... This isn't your home.... When assigning lockers, please space them out....the facility is never full and yet they assign all of us lockers that are on top of eachother crowding the dressing area. Really hope they make some updates, clean things up and improve customer service so I can continue to come here and make it worth the continue hike in price. read more

I have been a long term customer here, but my recent experience was a nightmare. First, Gross Negligence with Lost Property: about a month ago, I left a $300+ vaporizer in a bag. I called the very next day, and the staff confirmed they had it and took my phone number. When I finally went to retrieve it, they casually told me they 'threw it away.' How does a reputable business discard a customer's high-value property without even a phone call, especially after confirming they found it? Second, Extreme Valet Negligence: Yesterday, the valet service was even worse. I paid for valet, but the attendant left before parking my car. When I tried to get my keys from the front desk, they couldn't find them. I eventually found my car sitting UNATTENDED in the middle of the driveway, UNLOCKED, with the KEYS IN THE IGNITION. Anyone could have driven off with my car. This isn't just bad service; it's a massive security and safety hazard. If you value your property or the safety of your vehicle, think twice before coming here. The management is clearly failing at basic oversight. read more

Came here on a Saturday at 12pm. While the sauna rooms, dining options and customer service are great, the environment itself is overcrowded and suited towards socializing more than it is relaxing. People talk loudly through out the entire space and rooms are packed. This could be attributed to weekend crowds of course, but in general there isn't an enforced policy on noise or capacity. If you're looking to rest in a quieter, peaceful area, I recommend checking out the open space in the women's locker room to the left of the inner stairwell. There's hardly anyone there and it's away from the main walking paths. Parking is available for a few dollars on site, but there is free street parking 2 blocks down if you're willing to walk by encampments. Treatments are on the pricer side, so expect to pay $160+ for a massage, facial, etc. though your $40 entry fee is waived if you purchase a service. My Go-To Spot for Serious Relaxation! I've been coming to Wi Spa for years, and it never disappoints. Yes, the entrance fee recently went up from $30 to $40, but honestly, it's still so worth it. My husband and I were looking for a unique massage experience and the acupressure massages were nice. They do have a base charge 160$ which if you don't go over they add a 40$ for admission so we did the 80min for 170$. They have sauna rooms which are all different and a cool experience but It was very crowded which kind of took away from it. The roof top terrace was calming to get away from everyone. Ps: they do have separate pools for men and women and there does tend to be a lot of nudity in the gender specific areas so if you're not comfortable with that it might not be for you. Very nice and big place. The front staffs were knowledgeable. The women bath and locker areas are very clean and spacious. They provide blankets and robes. Many other spas don't offer these amenities. There is a rooftop space to hang out if you want some fresh air. One downside I would say are the non Asians who disrespect and have no courtesy. It's been some time since I've visited, are least 5+ years and I was reminded of why I never felt the urge to go back. Given the size of the facility and the amount of foot traffic it sees on a weekend day/night, it was filthy. It smelly dirty, ball's of hair everywhere and absolutely no one cleaning in the process. I'm use to other Korean spas where there is someone always picking up dirty towels left behind, sweeping, wiping surfaces etc and I didn't see anyone doing any of this until 11p when it was at the end of the day, but 3 hrs prior to that-- nada. I just felt dirty walking through there and tried to give it a chance but in the end, I will never be back. The only plus is that it's opened late but then they charge $70 past midnight as an entrance fee s opposed to the regular $40. And the restaurant was just ok, $30 for mediocre spicy beef soup. I really enjoyed Wi Spa, except for the women's dry sauna in the wet area (which is usually my favorite part of a spa!). I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why they have speakers blasting a Korean television show when the television itself is off (or broken?) I would have spent so much time in there if the auditory experience wasn't so awful (the television show consisted of a good amount of loud screaming whereas the tv in the men's dry sauna was apparently playing a football game.) That's the area in which you cannot bring phones, so I couldn't even try to drown out the noise with headphones. I asked someone who worked there if it was possible to turn it off since no one was listening to it, and was told no. Besides that -- the dry saunas upstairs are awesome, they just feel a little less cleansing and a little more social since you have to wear clothes (and people are talking in there a ton, but I did use headphones in them.) The food is delicious (I got the udon and it was a perfect meal to replenish for the heat.) The cosmetic purchasing area was a godsend for moisturizing. And the massage chairs lowkey totally rock. Came to Wi Spa after midnight specifically to use the women's wet spa area (hot tubs/saunas), only to find out upon arrival that the entire women's sauna/wet spa section would be closed from 2:00-3:30 a.m. for cleaning/maintenance. What bothered me was not the maintenance itself but the fact that they still charged the full overnight rate ($70) with zero adjustment despite a major amenity being unavailable for a significant portion of the visit. I was just politely inquiring/confirming the area of closure when extremely rude front desk guy immediately informed me that I'll also be charged the overnight rate and there'll be no discount (I haven't even asked if there's one!) I said 'wow' then pause and reach for my wallet, which he then quickly said: I don't need your attitude. I responded and asked him what attitude when I'm simply pausing to reach for my wallet. The interaction escalated unnecessarily, and I was literally told, "We don't need your business." I left immediately. For a business positioning itself as a relaxing spa experience, the customer service was shockingly aggressive and unprofessional. If the women's wet spa area is going to close overnight, this should be made clear on the website, especially when charging premium overnight pricing. Judging by other reviews, it seems others has toxic encounter with this same employee. This interaction completely killed the relaxing atmosphere before I even step foot in the spa. ***WIFE TAKEOVER*** Happy New Year, Yelp family! My husband and I wanted to start the new year right with relaxation and rejuvenation. Wi Spa has always been on my radar ever since Conan O'Brien and Stephen Yuen went many years ago. We were afraid of the nudity back then. However, the opportunity presented itself when we decided on a date night in Los Angeles. We live farther away and needed something to occupy our time while waiting for dinner. Hence, Wi Spa. We arrived at about 8:30 AM and were surprised by the number of parked cars. Luckily, we did not have to utilize the valet service since there were open parking stalls. To waive the $40 entrance fee, we booked services (nude scrub and CBD massage for me, acupressure and Swedish combo massage for the hubs). She confirmed our appointments and gave us instructions on what to do before the massages. The front desk asked us for our shirt sizes and handed us each a shirt, a towel, a numbered wrist band, and cheap disposable slippers. Then she directed us to our gendered floors. I was impressed by the cleanliness and layout. I quickly found my spacious locker and changed into the co-ed gear. There is a numbered wristband they give that works as a locker access, so place it on before changing to avoid lockout. A few minutes into changing, more ladies came to the locker area, and it became quite crowded with naked bodies. There was a lot of nudity, but no one cared, and it was quite freeing. We met on the third-floor co-ed space (jimjilbang) and decided on a quick bite. Mind you, the prices were quite high, but we decided on splurging and paid with the aforementioned wristband. We got the clam seaweed soup and the classic spicy ramen. The seaweed soup was generous with whole clams and served with rice and banchan. It is a simple and humble dish that brought warmth, comfort, and a smile to my face. The spicy ramen was probably Shin ramen cooked from the package...just for $14 without any accoutrements. Anyhow, we tried all the different rooms and the favorite was the Jade room. There weren't any painful, pokey objects (salt room and clay room). One could just lie down. There is also a cold room to cool off between each sauna room. We brought our own water bottles to drink in between (there are water stations scattered everwhere but only mall 4 oz cups). Our massage time was approaching, and we had to split ways. I was advised to submerge in the hot bath for 30 minutes prior. I showered before submerging and really enjoyed my soaking time. An older lady wearing a bra and underwear shouted my number (from the wristband). She eyed me up and down and didn't really say anything but smiled. She instructed me to lie down on a massage table, threw warm water on me, placed a small towel over my eyes, and started scrubbing away. It was not painful and oddly relaxing. I did look forward to the warm water being splashed on me because it got a little cold. I felt like a sea animal during a transport mission that needed the occasional water splash to keep cool. It got to the point where when I turned, I almost slipped off the table. After a half-hour of scrubbing every inch of my body (yes, chest, inner thighs, butt), she washed my hair, gave me a face scrub, and told me to wash off and scrub my face. I returned to the area afterwards, and she started massaging me with the perfect amount of pressure. She even did a surprise face mask and washed my hair again. She handed me a envelope at the end for tipping purposes. Good thing we brought cash. My skin is now baby-butt smooth, and I will try to keep it that way because she let me keep the scrubber! So why the four stars despite getting pampered and consuming authentic, humble Korean dishes? It got PACKED to the point where we witnessed people swiping other people's head pillows and mats. If you need a self care day by yourself, with a partner, or with friends, Wi Spa is the place to go! I absolutely love it here for the amenities. To start, Wi Spa offers painless valet parking in their lot for $4. This is great so that you don't have to fight for parking in Koreatown LA. The check in process is also simple. A day at the spa is $30 base if you leave before 5am. I typically come here around 11pm and still until 2 or 3 with no issues. You are handed a wristband which you will use to open your locker and pay for any additional items or services throughout your stay. They bathrooms are kept clean with an abundance of spa clothes to choose from. Towels and robes are always stocked which is nice as well. My favorite part of the experience is the food court, which serves the menu up until 11pm, and smaller late night menu for the rest of operating hours. My favorite things are the spicy cold noodles and the milk tea. My favorite sauna room is the salt room. It can be a little loud in the rooms depending on the crowd, but it is peaceful for the most part. My recommendation is that you cycle through all of the rooms, get a milk tea, and then relax on their outdoor rooftop. Enjoy! read more

My only complaint was on my way out during check out the girl at the front desk was so rude. All she had to say was "did you enjoy your experience?" Or "Thanks for coming in". We always have a great time here. This trip we spent less time in the women's/men's areas and way more time in the coed area. We brought the kids and they really loved the kids room. We were able to get some relaxation and the kids also enjoyed a bit of the saunas. Here are some tips: 1. Bring extra activities for the kiddos like coloring, reading etc. 2. Take a snack/drink up to the rooftop terrace. 3. If you're bringing kids, make sure you have at least 2 adults to mix up play and relaxation. 4. Enjoy the restaurant. Went to Wi Spa in downtown LA right before Christmas for a massage and... okay wow. I got an 80-minute massage and it was so relaxing I felt like my soul left my body in the best way and came back refreshed. The place is super clean and it's definitely not for the modest. The wet areas (showers + pools/spas) are gender-separated and it's fully nude in there. Like fully. No underwear, no swimsuit, no "I'll just keep this on" they don't allow it. So just mentally prepare lol. Also check-in was actually pleasant. The front counter staff were nice, no rudeness, no weird vibes, nothing awkward. Just smooth and easy. What I loved though is there's staff constantly cleaning, so it never feels gross or sketchy. And there's even this cute little shop inside the women's locker area where you can buy a face mask and just... marinate in relaxation. I didn't know what to expect my first time, but now I get it. Also the food is actually good, and everything gets charged to your bracelet, which is dangerously convenient. Bonus: they have super convenient valet parking on site. You literally just leave your keys with them and they park it for you. It's $4, which is honestly a steal for downtown LA. The person I spoke to had to ask me for my phone number and name several times and told me there was no reservation for us (even though I called a week before to confirm and I responded to a reminder call I got earlier in the day). After he finally found the reservations, there was no guidance on how to use the facilities. My boyfriend and I had to proactively ask where to go for our massages and where to change. We both got ~80 minute acupressure massages. While pricey for the bareboned environment, we both thought the massages themselves were fantastic. It was clear that each session was customized to the needs of our bodies as we both shared different areas our therapist focused on. The sauna rooms surprisingly weren't crowded. The temperatures really relaxed the body, but it was often hard to fully relax in each of the rooms as there was a lot of noise that would come from other guests coming in and out. read more

I love Korean spas. One of my favorite pastimes is cleaning myself at these spas and using the hot tubs. However, at Wi Spa, I felt unclean. I had several issues with the hygiene of this spa. First, the shoe lockers were not being used. I stood at my designated shoe locker for a couple minutes wondering how my wristband was supposed to unlock the keyhole. A staff member then informed me that they don't use the shoe lockers and instructed me to take off my shoes in the regular changing area and put my shoes in the big locker. Looking around, I saw everyone else walking around the changing area with their shoes on. The floor felt dirty, which defeated the purpose of washing yourself. Imagine washing your whole body only to step barefoot into an area where people are walking around with their shoes on. Second, I noticed several of the clientele not following the rules. On a Sunday, I saw about 6-7 people in the men's bath wearing shorts or slides. The wet room is supposed to be a clean, relatively "sterile" environment. You are supposed to get fully naked and wash your body before using the tubs or saunas. People wearing their clothes was not only breaking the rules, but was also filthy and made me doubt if they actually showered. Also, wearing slides or sandals in the wet room was inexcusable. People are supposed to be barefoot there and the floor is wet. Bringing in footwear that had been used outside is disgusting. There were more than enough staff patrolling the area and none of them were enforcing the rules. I think this negligence was unprofessional and impeded my ability to enjoy the spa. I did enjoy the dry saunas my favorite room was the clay room. It felt so nice to be immersed in the hot beads. Playing with the beads was a nice sensory experience, grasping them and dropping them on my body. The salt room was nice too, though I wish there was a little more leg room. The food was.. ok. I really enjoyed my rice punch. I thought the salmon was a little fishy though. On top of everything, Wi Spa feels a little dated. The faucets at the sitting showers are a little rusty and rickety. The lighting is yellow and strange. It is true that Wi Spa has established itself in its community, but that comes with a unique set of drawbacks. And it doesn't seem like anything has been updated since it opened. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at Wi Spa. I've been to several jjimjilbang, but I had never left feeling dirtier than when I came in before. read more

I never expected that one of the biggest concerns I'd have at Wi Spa would be privacy in the women's nude area. During my visit, I encountered a transgender woman who still had male genitalia in the women's-only nude section. On a separate visit just two days later, I encountered the same situation again with a different individual. Regardless of anyone's gender identity, I was not expecting to see male genitalia in a space designated for women who are required to be fully nude. For many women, these spaces are meant to feel private and safe. Some guests have religious beliefs, a history of sexual trauma, or simply expect a female-only nude environment. During my visit, another woman also expressed discomfort to staff. I was told that under California law, the spa could not exclude someone based on their gender identity. I understand that the staff are following the law, and my frustration is not directed at them. My concern is with the policy itself and the lack of options for women who specifically want a nude space where no male genitalia are present. I believe businesses and lawmakers should explore solutions that respect the privacy and dignity of everyone. If this issue matters to you, I encourage you to respectfully contact your elected representatives and the Governor's Office to share your views. Decided to try the sugar scrub this time and it was great! A 90 minute scrub and massage which is enough to waive the admission fee and gets you so relaxed. When I have done the salt scrub the lady would wash your hair and the end and your done this time she did it between the scrub and massage and had us sit in the sauna. My skin feels so great after this treatment! Then we had the delicious food. My friend had the beef bimbimap and I had the tofu. The portions are huge and delicious. If your looking for a super packed spa with horrible service this is the place for you. As someone who gets massages every week I have to say this is the worse massage I have had in LA. I showed up at 5pm for a scrub and massage and the scrub was amazing. The massage was horrible. She essentially just walked on my back for 50 minutes and that's it. She put a sheet over me and really did not even use her hands. Only reason I give it two stars is the sauna and scrub were great. Worst part is I was leaving and tried to leave a tip in an envelope for my services and the people at the front desk wanted me to wait in a 20 person deep line just to give them the tip. After being told twice I couldn't leave I just left the two enveloped and my wristband on the front desk and said I had a work dinner to go to, which I did. I had been to Wi Spa once 2 years ago and just went again recently. It was my first Korean spa experience ever. Fast forward to today, I've been to five other K-spas in LA and OC to which I can compare. Parking is $4 valet, even if the lot has many empty spots as another reviewer mentioned. Wish they would allow us to self-park and only charge valet when the lot is full. All the other spas have better and free parking. The gym is permanently closed. Heard from the front desk staff that they're planning to open a hair spa instead, but no ETA on when that will be completed. The locker area and restrooms were pretty clean. Half of the showers in the wet area were missing handles and out of order. Also not the cleanest. Clearly need some upgrading there. I love that Wi Spa has warm, hot, and cold tubs. The other spa I go to in the area, Hugh Spa, only has one small Himalayan salt tub. Wi Spa is pretty comparable to I Spa in Irvine, Spa Hyu in City of Industry, and K Spa in Buena Park with those three tubs, steam room, and dry sauna, except Wi Spa's wet room area seems the biggest. Overall, Wi Spa and I Spa have the most comfortable temperatures for the three tubs. The cold tub is colder than I Spa's, but not as frigid as that in Spa Hyu in City of Industry. I could not last more than 15 seconds in Spa Hyu's cold tub, but I could stay for 2-3 minutes in Wi Spa's and maybe like 5 mins in I Spa's. There's a women's sleeping area by the women's locker room, or you can go to the massive co-ed area to lounge or nap. I love bulgama (fire room), which I Spa also has but the other spas do not. I also love laying on clay balls in the clay room. Hugh Spa also has this room, whereas I Spa's equivalent is the ondol room which has clay-lined walls, but no clay balls. The jade room was nice and warm; it's set at a similar temperature to the clay and salt rooms. If I recall correctly, the bamboo room at I Spa is not as warm as the other rooms and feels closer to room temperature after the other saunas. For these co-ed dry sauna rooms, Wi Spa is my favorite, followed by Hugh Spa and then I Spa. One thing Wi Spa has that the other spas don't is the rooftop terrace. Seems like a cool area to chill if you want to also feel the fresh air outside. Another huge plus compared to other spas is it's open 24/7, though they do charge extra if you check out after 4 am. Onto the service. I got a buff and silky massage the other day. It included a scrub. Everything, including the massage, was done in the wet room and on the same bed. I didn't like this because the bed for scrubbing didn't have a hole where you could put your face and breathe, so I had to rest my head to the side, which hurt and fatigued my neck after a while. At Hugh Spa, you would move from the wet room to one of the private rooms for your massage, body treatments, facials, etc. The massage was pretty good, and the scrubbing thorough, but I noticed she finished 7 minutes before my allotted time. Given how expensive services are, I expect to get every minute. Hugh Spa is my favorite for services. TL;DR: Wi Spa is great for the tubs and co-ed sauna rooms. Parking sucks. The wet room needs upgrading and more frequent cleaning. I wouldn't recommend getting a buff + massage combo here, but admission alone is worth it. read more

Wi Spa gets crazy busy, especially late, but it rarely feels out of control for how big it is and how many people come through. That's not by accident. Chloe, one of the managers, has been there for years and you can tell she runs a tight ship. She's always on the floor, paying attention, keeping things moving, and making sure nothing slips. It makes a noticeable difference compared to other spots that get this crowded. If you come here often, you know how easily a place like this can fall apart without someone solid behind it.
