I will absolutely never return to this horribly run bar. We planned a birthday event that we had to buy tickets for in advance and that we had discussed via email with Hannah for weeks. When we arrived, the bouncer acted like we were lying about the event as we pulled literal tickets out. He then tried to make us pay again even though they made a point to have us pay early. Then, we go to the back upstairs area and the manager said they had no record of our event existing (lies - see picture below). Then the manager tried to pivot from blissful ignorance to say that because we opened a tab at the bar the event was void. Which was ludicrous considering the only reason we went to the bar was because they told us our event did not exist. Then once we finally got up there, they didn't give enough wristbands for access to the area for our party. We told the manager this and she refused to give us more. All in all, worst experience I have ever had at a bar in New York City and I cannot believe we wasted money and time at this shit hole. read more

Ahhh Wicked Willy's... the token college dive bar that draws us in with its extended happy hour and drinking games. I've frequented the establishment many times in my early 20s, but tonight I found myself back here because of the Winter Tippler Cocktail Book. Our cocktail for the night was the Apple Pie. It was composed of Fireball, cider, and powdery cinnamon on top. It was a nice soothing choice for a cool night and made us feel quite distinguished amongst the other patrons who were ordering pitchers of beer. Our bartender was super friendly and prompt and made sure we got our order quickly and efficiently. Towards the back were the patrons who were engaged in beer pong and darts, just where we had left them all those years ago. We were tempted to get something to eat, but decided on waiting until our next cocktail venue (which was not a wise choice). I may return to Wicked Willy's to rekindle my young adulthood. read more

Our original server seemed to be under the influence of marijuana or another recreational drug. There was a discrepancy on our check and the staff argued with us for twenty minutes instead of offering a solution. As someone who has worked in the service industry for 7+ years at multiple restaurants, it was unprofessional. Eventually, an agreement was reached, but the ordeal that it took to get there left a bad taste in our mouth. Came here for Friday night drinks and was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is cool and fun, there was live music and some people dancing, but best of all was the service from our server. Having been a server, I notice the little things, the big things, and all in between. Our server checked up on us just enough times to make sure we were doing all right and if we needed more drinks, though she was obviously busy. The drinks themselves were ok, pretty weak in comparison to what I'm used to or what I would desire. And that was across all of the drinks we ordered. So that's what I'm docking a star for. Didn't try any food so can't comment on that. Seems to be a good place for a fun pregame with friends. There's bar seating and tables of various sizes and this place does get quite rowdy. The food/drink is kind of meh. I had a specialty cocktail (champagne, vodka and cranberry) which kind of weird-tasting, like a vodka cran gone wrong. I ordered the nachos with everything on them which was frankly a little underwhelming for how flavorful I was expecting it to be. The only other thing I want to try next time is the mac and cheese. We picked this place because when we walked by there was a live music about to start and seating by very large, open windows that was almost like sitting outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. We only ordered drinks, and I'm not usually picky about my liquor, but their well tequila was awful. I ended up asking for more seltzer just to try to water down the taste. Additionally, the place was near empty, but somehow the service was still very slow. We felt like we were waiting around for our waitress whenever we needed her. *SEXUAL HARASSMENT* I had my 21st birthday at Wicked Willy's, and the atmosphere was super fun and exciting. A group of friends and I were seated right in front of the stage near where the DJ was at. We got to be front row of a live performance before the DJ took over for the rest of the night which was cool. HOWEVER, the true setback was the fact that our server was extremely creepy and inappropriate with not only me but my other friends as well. He would frequently come over to our table which at first, I didn't think much about it. I passed it off as him just being nice and attentive but I noticed that the waiter was very adamant about making sure that we were continuously drinking and was insisting upon rounds of shots. As the night progressed, the waiter seemed to be even more invested with my particular party. Throughout the night he was constantly near us. He gave me a complimentary shot and instructed me to do it a specific way, I was familiar with the Bj shot but the way he described it and his enjoyment in watching it, looking back made me realize how alarming that was. At some point during the night, he made an inappropriate comment about my friend's hair. He whispered in her ear and said, " Do you like having your hair pulled?" then proceeded to stroke and tug on her hair. With me in particular, he began to get uncomfortably friendly and kept continuously invading my personal space as well. As we continued to dance, part of my group stepped outside for a minute, leaving a friend and me alone. It was at this moment where the server began to sexually harass me. He came up to me and was whispering in my ear that he's going to get a guy for me to go home with because I needed to get my "pussy fucked for my 21st birthday" and kept insisting that "the only way to end the night for tonight was to be fucked" then he proceeded to ask me if had bought "condoms" and insisted to know where I lived. And that's not even the most creepiest part. The server THEN asked me if my "pussy was shaved". It didn't take much to see that I was clearly drunk and was the most intoxicated out of all my friends. However, despite this, I was still able to recognize how inappropriate that was. That server was fully trying to take advantage of me and my intoxicated state. I was so uncomfortable that I texted the rest of my friends that was outside about how creepy that man was and to come back because everyone then felt that I was unsafe. So then a member of the party closed out the bill and when we got the itemized receipt we were not given the correct receipt. The items on there are not what we had ordered. Perfectly fine bar with free karaoke a few days a week. I went in on Sunday (yesterday) evening. I sang a song, tipped the KJ and also ordered two shots, a canned beverage, and a vodka soda (total bill was $60.55). The bartender added a 20% auto gratuity and said that they/she adds the gratuity in the last hour of service. WHAT. I'm a bartender and we would only ever auto grat if the customer left their card behind or for large groups and we'd inform them prior to charging or even taking their card. Even in an instance where someone forgot their card, we'd do an 18% gratuity. It's unfortunate that your customers are poor tippers or you often get stiffed but it's not my job to make up for that. I'm there to spend money, I'm there to tip but the service didn't warrant a 20% tip even though I likely would have left close to that on my own.
