Overall, Wienerschnitzel is ok. The staff was friendly, the service quick, the portions are on the small side - but the prices aren't bad. I say Wienerschnitzel is best for a snack. We went through the drive thru. What we ordered: chili dog - cheaper dog and bun with basic chili corn dog - typical normal sized corn dog, not greasy polish sandwich - better quality dog, polish sausage, bread had a nice rye flavor and not too tough. There was a deal where the chili dogs and corn dogs were $1 each. Either 5 for $5 or 6 for $6 and you can mix and match. Wienerschnitzel seems to be nostalgic for many. I didn't grow up eating at Wienerschnitzel but it's fun to stop by once in a while. I am curious about their desserts as they have tastee freeze desserts, we'll have to try them next. read more

My friend and I were super excited to try Wienerschnitzel because we've never seen one before. Since we were in the area, we decided to give it a shot. We went through the drive-thru and it was pretty fast. We ordered chili dogs and corn dogs. We finished our meal but weren't too satisfied. The corn dogs weren't crispy on the outside and the chili dogs left a weird aftertaste in our mouths. Also, we asked for ketchup and mustard and the packets were so dirty. Stoped in to check this place out since I have lived in Germany and was missing the Wienerschnitzel. LOL, they don't have a breaded veal Wienerschnitzel On the menu. I was out pretty late last night and my hubby was craving hot dogs and we ended up here. I was about to pass up on it and then I gave in. I ordered the Kraut Dog with mustard and ketchup, hubby ordered the Chicago Dog and 2 chili dog with cheese. To my surprise, the total came out to $14 and some change.(YIKES) whatever happened to back in the day where you can get all that for just peanuts! Hubby looked at the receipt. I Love Wienerschnitzel.....esp. this location. The Northridge Library is next door and CSUN is across the street so it's popular with the college students 8)...and I'm over that way frequently...so it's all good for me too. The drive-thru customer service can be a Lil nicer though...I don't appreciate it when I ask a question and they just totally ignore you and then they'll say....anything else. I love their chili dogs. The buns are so soft...and I love the chili. And they are served HOT...even if you bring the bag home....when you open up the paper....the chili dog is still so HOTT!!! I love that. I'm gonna try the pastrami dog next time I go. The thing that has made me so happy there though lately is the cherryaide & strawberryaide drinks. During the weekends, I get to treat myself to a sweet delight. There aren't a lot of hot dog carts in the San Fernando Valley, but there are quite a few places that serves hot dogs like Wienerschnitzel in Northridge. Located on the south side of Nordhoff and a block east of Reseda. Its a also a good spot for CSUN Students who just want a quick fanfare food. You'll miss this place because of the still-closed Taco Bell. I had asked the Wienerschnitzel Employee if they had moved from next door, but then she corrected me that it was Taco Bell. I always thought when I was kid it was Wienerschnitzel. There is only one entrance. Be cautious when entering and exiting. When I walked in, I saw the old-school cash registers. That was pretty cool to see the buttons and simple display screen. I think all places should go retro. Its simple and reliable. It was as if I walked back in time and the new cash registers didn't exist. Unfortunately, I saw a modern day credit card machine connected to it. Since it was Saturday, it was $1.99 Freezee Day. With the recent reports that Oreo Cookies are addicting to lab rats, I decided to honor those lab rats with an Oreo Freezee. Then I ordered a hot dog, but a Kraut Dog $1.49. The Oreo Freezee is very thick and you'll see a lot of pieces of Oreo Cookies in it. I switched places between my Oreo Freezee and my Kraut Dog. Just as the name describes it. It is just SauerKraut on top of the hot dog. Its nothing special, but it sure is a simple hot dog. After trying the Oreo Freezee and the Kraut Dog, I might want to change up and try different varieties. Unless its true that the Oreo is addicting. I still haven't felt that effect....YET! Yelp! Kraut on the dog (which was juicy and tasty) and lettuce tomato and pickle on the burger were fresh. I use to love Wienerschnitzel growing up but as the times have changed and my taste buds have expanded Wienerschnitzel just doesn't cut it, even if it's just fast-food. Location This Wienerschnitzel is hidden behind an old and closed Taco Bell which makes it seem as if this Wienerschnitzel doesn't even exist. They have their own lot with ample parking. They are right across the street from CSUN so I would assume they are swamped around lunch time. Staff I used the drive-thru and didn't really expect much but to be honest the employee working was like a zombie; I got no eye-contact, no hi, no bye, no thank you, no smile, no ketchup (yes, I would've been happy with just one word), no nothing, all I got was the assumption that I knew how much my meal was and that everything that I could possibly need was in the bag. RUDE. Food I got the "Kids Bag" ($3.59, thanks to my receipt) which came with your choice of a mustard hot dog or mini corn dogs, fries, a drink and a toy. The fries didn't have salt and nor did I have ketchup to give it any flavor. The mustard hot dog was pathetic again no flavor which is sad because it's a hot dog it should be fine by itself given that it's made with so much junk anyways. I guess I'm just spoiled with my Hebrew Nationals. The drink was small which was expected since it was in fact a kid's meal. The saving grace was sadly enough the toy, but most people wouldn't say that; I got recycled playing cards which will definitely come in handy down the road. Overall I wouldn't recommend Wienerschnitzel, especially this one. If I'm looking for a quick fried fix by campus there's always the Micky Dee's and Jack-in-the-Crack just down the street. read more

This should be the model for how all weinerschnitzel franchises are managed at least in terms of customer service. The restaurant is extremely clean! Its the first thing you notice when you walk inside. They also provide a TV for patrons to catch sports highlights. Staff here is friendly and go above and beyond to make the customer happy. Fries are hot, crispy, golden and taste delicious. Ordered the pastrami sandwhich and it looks like a deli sandwhich!! Overall this is a great fast food place and would recommend this location as opposed to the North Hollywood franchise that is still trying to find competent management. read more

I've been to a few locations and this is not one of my favorites. It isn't bad but it isn't fantastic either. Their regular hot dogs are just ok. I can get a better regular dog at the 7-11 down the street. BUT...I do love their pretzel buns. The pretzel buns are generally hard to find at places but if you get one of the more premium dogs with a pretzel bun then the taste is better. I am really disappointed that they no longer offer the BBQ Bacon dog. That was my favorite with BBQ sauce, Bacon and a mound of cheddar cheese. Add a pretzel bun to that and you have one tasty weiner! Alas, they are no longer offered. The location is alright but can get busy with the school nearly across the street. However it is easy to think that it has closed down. The Taco Bell next door is all boarded up and dark. So if you don't pay attention you can think it is closed or miss it all together. read more

Yummy corn dogs. Greasy? Yes. But tasty. :D You can always wrap a paper towel around it and give it a little squeeze to cut down on the oil. I didn't have a problem finding it at all (it's right across from CSUN), and the drive thru was fast & super friendly. I didn't particularly like the chili dog because it was a bit bland (maybe cheese would have helped). I've had the regular plain dog from here before (different location, though), and it was good. However, the corn dog is probably my fav. On the other hand, the fries were reaaaaaaaaaally soggy and very pale in color. It was weird. On my first order for my family when we asked for 2 sodas I was charged two additional MEALS. This Wienerschniztel is great! I have stopped by a few times before during my CSUN undergrad years, stopped by today, service was quick, and staff was friendly! Place is always clean, and well organized. ESPN is always on in their tv monitors, and you can always catch up on sports highlights during your stay. They even give you coupons for specials to use later on after every purchase. I recommend this location if anyone happens to be by the Northridge area! I literally just picked some up to eat in the drive thru. I have not ate a more stale corn dog and fries in my life. The chili fries i ordered had frys from probably yesterday, the corn dogs where nearly cold and also stale, fries where extra stale. The chili dogs where not stale, just looked like dog shhh. Not the healthiest way to eat, but kids love it and it makes a nice reward for good behavior/grades/accomplishments. The staff is always friendly, the place is clean, and the service is fast. The orders are usually accurate although they sometimes make mistakes (you should have seen my kid's face when the mini corn dogs we ordered turned out to be stuffed jalapenos!). It's overall a good place, but if I'm picking up food to take home, I make my family endure two lines so I can get Farmer Boys or California Chicken nearby while they get their hot dog fix. read more
