This Company is extremely expensive. we have been a member for a long, long time we pay $9.99 a month. that gives us a $20 visit discount if we need their help, which we have maybe 5 or 6 times over the years to check our heater. No work.($79) Their repairs are exorbitant. $590.00 to put in 2 plugs. They won't give you a breakdown of parts and labor. We went to a small local plumber and got it done for $300. read more

Wighton's replaced a hot water heater that was leaking. I didn't take time to call and see what other rates were as I needed the water off then to keep my water bill from going through the roof. They are going to email an invoice showing just the cost of $2875. I requested showing how much the tank was, any part's required, and the labor cost. They don't do that I was told. Know now i could have bought a tank for $500-700 elsewhere. My son in law is furious saying they took advantage of an elderly, single woman. The details are too lengthy, but over-priced and underserviced captures our experience. A two to three-day install took THREE weeks. Everyone was nice, but they simply Did Not get the job done. The absolute worse part? I shared my experience with the boss via email and letter and he didn't have the decency or common courtesy to respond or apologize. The caulking around toilet was coming off and the smell was terrible. So they recaulked it. The caulking started splitting away from toilet the next day. It wasn't leaking from bottom originally so was hoping that the caulking is all I needed. Now I probably need to pull toilet off and check underneath but the estimate to do that was over $500 just to look. I will check around at other companies read more

My AC quit running on 9-1-22, one of the hottest days of the year. I called at about 4:45 expecting to get an answering machine or a person saying they could come out in two or three weeks. To my surprise, a very nice lady named April answered and she was more than happy to try to help me that evening but she was unable to find a nighttime tech. She gave me an appointment for 8:00 the next morning (a Friday.) Again, to my surprise, at 8:00 Friday a.m. a tech named Jonathan was at my door ready to address my issue. Fortunately for me the problem was relatively simple and Jonathan fixed it, put in a new filter, and was gone by 9:00. I cannot express enough that I would, without a doubt, recommend this business in a heartbeat. They will also be the first people I will call in the future. Thank you!! read more

Wighton's is the best company I've never used. Let me explain. My wife and I are in the market for installing central air. We got several quotes, including from Wighton's. We heard from a friend that they were not the cheapest quote, but she had the most confidence in their competence and professionalism. My wife and I would wholeheartedly agree. Their quote came in pretty high -- almost double the next-highest quote we got for installing central AC. But the result is that I'm more suspicious of the cheaper companies, not resentful toward Wighton's. After talking with Malcom, who came out to do a site visit, we're confident that this is just how much it takes to get the job down right. We were very impressed with Malcom's professionalism and knowledge about the process. So, when we move forward with this project, we will get back in touch with you Wighton's first, for sure. read more

We were told there would be a $99 site visit fee and diagnostics beyond that would be extra. We had a leak. When the technician showed up, we were told the diagnostic fee would be $315 and if we declined that option we still owed $99 just to answer the door. They need to tell people their fee for diagnosis is $315 before coming out. I clearly explained we didn't know the source of the leak and needed help figuring out what the problem is. We wouldn't have agreed to that price over the phone and gone with a different option... read more

We waited 24 hours for our Home Warranty to assign a vendor to fix our whole house backup. They finally told me they didn't have anyone on contract in our area and I could find someone myself. I immediately called Wighton's . They came out in 3 hours and fixed our problem that afternoon. Their rep wasn't going to leave until the clog was fixed and he had verified it was clear. Even put a scope in it 74 feet in to ensure it was fixed. I can't say enough of the great service and professionalism. They have all the right equipment and excellent resources, from there dispatch folks to their plumbers. Great Company!!! read more

I have been a priority customer of Whiton's for over 4 years, where I pay a monthly fee for what I thought would be premier service. l have been very disappointed the past few months with their cancelling appointments after I have rearranged my schedule and that of my renters. April and Amanda are quick to blame their answering service for booking appointments that they cannot keep. Today was the final straw, I made an appointment yesterday for my thermostat to be repaired (although my system was serviced by Wighton's Oct. 4, 2022 and everything was in good condition) between 12-4 today. I asked for the earliest time and one of the girls said they would note that with dispatch. I called at 2:15 to get an idea of what time they were going to be here and was told they were just too busy to get to me today because they have had several calls and many technicians were out. They tried to blame the appointment on the answering service when I spoke to one of the secretaries yesterday. Answering services do not make the appointments, they only relay a message. All of the technicians I have worked with have been professional and courteous but the office really needs to get their act together and quit blaming others for their ineptness. read more

Do not use this company. They even admitted to me they cannot compete with local prices. They charged me $570 to fill coolant on my sons mini split ac/heater unit. They charge $99 to come out but then said I would be charged an additional $150 diagnostic fee if I chose to do nothing. This was never mentioned ahead of time. Perhaps the shoddiest customer service I've encountered since living on the Central Coast, an area unknown for its customer service. I scheduled a technician and had the owner call to give his approval. The technician arrived but was not trained to service a gas furnace (?) Yeah, I know. So he said someone else would arrive in 30 minutes, and he would wait outside. After 45 minutes, no one showed, and the guy had left. There was no follow-up call from Wighton's, So I called them the next day and scheduled another technician. I never heard from them, so I called to confirm the appointment, only to learn they had canceled it because the owner had not called to approve. Had I not called, I would have spent the entire day waiting for someone who would never show. How many times does the owner have to call before they can capture his approval? A 6th grader could see the problem(s) with their customer service, lack of attention, care, and follow-up. Avoid this company like the plague. read more

We began shopping around for a ductless air conditioner a couple of months ago. Wightons responded quickly for our request for a review of our needs and then to quote the project. Chuck surveyed our property and developed a plan. He showed us a side by side comparison for ductless air conditioning versus a central air system using our existing ducts. Central air proved to be much more cost effective and ten days later Koby and Jake were there to install our system. Koby really knows his stuff and we went with his suggestion for placement of the unit. It was a two day job in and out of a crawl space yet we hardly knew they were there. Five stars for sales and installation. If service after the sale is just as good we'll certainly be long term customers. read more

I received a quote to install a new toilet for $1571, and install if I supply toilet for $875. The toilet is on the ground floor and has no complications. Simple toilet install. I was able to have the toilet installed for $175 by a licensed plumber. I would expect to pay for $250- $400 for this job. It took the installer about an hour to complete the job. Weighton's also quoted me $200 for a new supply line, cost is $15 at Home Depot. Upon reaching out to them It was explained to me that they quoted me for a higher quality toilet and materials with a lifetime guarantee. This was not explained in the original quote. Upon further discussion it was agreed that other options should have been given and the process i went through was not typical for them. I appreciate their attention and prompt responses and service. As with any project I suggest people get several quotes and be aware exactly what you are purchasing. read more

I called to have new sink installed as I got new countertops. Appointment after 2. They never showed up. I called at 3:30 and dispatcher told me I had an appt. but they would not make it that day. I made a new appt. for next day at 830. Received phone call at 930 that he was in meeting and would be buying my new products and come . ( he was a hour away). Then told me an Outrageous price for my extremely simple job of hooking up faucet and garbage disposal. He told me that he didn't want to come all this way and deliver the STICKER shock of hooking up a simple faucet garbage disposal and 2 sink baskets. Very unprofessional to not show up or call and then proceed to be late and discourage a new customer by Sticker shocking her. read more

I bought a York furnace for my home in 2020. The cost was $7,000. I later had an energy-efficient thermostat installed. As the thermostat was electric and my furnace was natural gas, I was curious if there was an override on the furnace in case of a power outage. I called the office and spoke with "V," who advised I would need to schedule a home visit from a technician. I advised I simply needed an answer to a simple question. V repeated my need to schedule an appointment because they "don't give out free information." When asked if I could speak with a supervisor for clarification, she claimed all people were out to lunch (at 3:00 p.m.) but that they would tell me the same answer offered by V. If this is how Wighton's treats their customers, I suggest you purchase your HVAC needs elsewhere. read more

I am a technician at sundays car wash on Santa Rosa st. Brand new business that's been operating for 3 months, unfortunately our reclaim system "water waste processor" was clogged and back flowing water constantly. We were unable to use it and the investment was going to waste. We had tried multiple plumbing companies and got the same result each time. No help and just a bill at the end. Carlos came in with an amazing attitude and helped me out till the solution was fixed. Along with snaking debree he cut out piping lowered the flow height and raised a pipe causing no more back flow issues and solving our 3 month long journey. Along with a positive attitude jokes and amazing effort he backed it with a warranty. I will continue to use this company and will always recommend it to anyone in the future. read more

Wighton's states they get City building permits for all of their jobs. They charge exorbitant fees for these permits but they do not always get them, nor send the final, signed permit to customers. I paid Wighton's $1,200 for a City building permit to replace a heater at my home. They FAILED to produce this permit for 3 months after the job was finished despite multiple requests. First they sent me a "Certificate of Compliance" signed by a computer generated third party, then 2.5 months later they sent what they called was the permit but it was just the application for the permit. They paid $277 to the City to file the permit, (not $1,200). After an in person meeting, multiple emails and phone conversations, and me getting the correct information from the City, Wighton's, on their 3rd appointment at the house, got the permit signed off and finalled by a City Inspector. It is now supposedly in the mail to me. They appear to be profiting from their "permitting" process - charging me $1,200 for a $277 permit which I had to absolutely insist they get. This took three months. They hope customers will not ask for a real, final permit from the City and just pay Wighton's their bill in full. It is impossible to reach upper management at Wighton's - no contact information is available from the front desk - and their contact person for their permitting process, Nate Medina, walked out of the meeting I had scheduled to discuss this issue. In addition, customers, verify that the address, information and signatures on documents you are sent are correct and authentic. It was a very tedious and time-wasting process trying to get what was stated in the contract. read more

I contacted Wighton's almost 3 weeks ago. I was told someone would call me to get me on the schedule - after 3 days and no response I called back. I gave all my info and I was told someone would be out the following day and I was even sent a text confirmation for the appointment. Day of the appointment no one ever came by and no one called. I called the next day, explained what happened and I was told the appointment was canceled - with no explanation as to why the appointment was canceled. Again they took down my info and said someone would call to schedule an appointment. Again no one called me back. A week later I called again, they took my info (again) and said the that someone would call me back to get me on the schedule. Needless to say no one has called me back. I understand the pandemic has created issues, but after all of the above occurring over the past three weeks I give up, this isn't pandemic related, this is just poor customer service. read more

I had to pick 1 star to leave a review, otherwise, there would be 0 stars!! Wighton's is "HORRIBLE" and should not be in business!!! Here is our story... Back in Sept, 2021, we selected Wighton's Air & Heating to put in our air conditioning. 4 guys showed up, with 1 guy doing all the work. The other 3 guys were on their cellphones the whole time stepping on my plants as they walked from my house to the side area where the 2 air conditioning units were put. I happened to notice on Wighton's truck "Now hiring." I thought to myself "This is not going to be good!" After 2 weeks of 1 air conditioning unit not turning on, my husband walked to the side of the house and noticed wires had been crossed. He pointed this out to the 1 guy doing all the work. Low and behold they figured it out. After paying them, in full, on a Thursday, by that Saturday, water was dripping out of a light fixture in the hallway by the kitchen. My husband climbed into the attic to see what was going on and he noticed a water sprinkler was leaking. We called Mid-State Sprinkler Co & they came out at 11:00 PM at night. They stated Wighton's had stepped on water pipes, cracking them, along with someone must of hit their head on a fire protection sprinkler, which was cracked & leaking. Long story short, $50,000.00 worth of repairs to the drywall and our floors. We had to live in a hotel with our 13 yr old son and 2 cats for 2 weeks, while repairs were going on in our house. Then, when we, finally, got to move back home to clean up the mess from the workers (floor demolition, dry wall, baseboards, etc), the same leak started dripping water thru the drywall, again, on Christmas Eve, 12/24/2021. Luckily, the $35,000.00 new floor didn't get affected. We NEVER heard from Wighton's when the 1st leak started. No apology, no call, no nothing. We were told by a Secretary who their insurance company was after calling Wighton's numerous times. Then, we found out Wighton's was sold to another company 3 days after we got our settlement check. After my husband made a bad review on YELP, we get an E-mail from a Todd Renfro asking if Wighton's can do anything to help us out. So, my husband sent an E-mail, back to him, stating that we are $7,000.00 out of pocket on items their insurance company refused to pay on. After numerous calls and E-mails to Todd Renfro, he, finally, picked up the phone and told my husband everything was sent to Corporate. We have never heard from Corporate and it is now 3 months later... I would definitely "Not Use" Wighton's if your looking for air conditioning and/or heating. They hire trainees who have no clue on what they are doing. We did ask for our $9,750.00 back, which we got, and they came and took their 2 air conditioning units back. This is a company that could care less about your damage that they caused!!! DO NOT USE WIGHTON's or the new company who bought them out. Guaranteed there are guys there who have no experience whatsoever left over from Wighton's. This is Christmas Eve (12/24/2021) and we are right back where we started! I also got told from one of the floor demolition guys that his Aunt's house, in Pismo Beach, had $1 million dollars worth of damage from Wighton's air conditioning & heating. We had them install a heat pump furnace and a/c. Cost close to $20,000. No one told us before the installation that it would vibrate and make a terrifying groaning sound. Nor was it discussed that since the outside unit was on the exterior wall of our bedroom , these noises would interfere with our sleep. Nor was it suggested to move the outside unit further away from the walls of the house, which we would have definitely done if the noise issue had been disclosed. After installation we called the sales rep to report the noise. Several days later we received a callback promising a tech would come out. Nearly a week after that (and several additional calls) the tech comes out, reports that part of the installation was not completed (heat strips). He evidently fixed that but that didn't resolve the issue, so he told us the company would likely suggest moving the outside unit and would send us an estimate. Still no estimate. The original installation was March 15. The tech came out last week. We are having to wear earplugs at night. I don't even want to think about how much additional cost there will be to move the outside unit away from the walls and repipe it. Buyer beware! They weren't the cheapest of the bids we received, but seemed like they were recommending good solutions for our house. read more

We used Wighton's three years ago to install a new gas furnace in our home. At that time they were very responsive and the work was done in a professional manner. Three years later a home inspection found that there was excess moisture in side the heater causing some rust on some of the metal, including the gas line. I called Wighton's to see if they could look at the furnace to see why water was building up. After multiple calls I was told the scheduler would be in touch. The scheduler called and left a message with a phone number...however after dialing that number and getting voice mail four times (leaving messages twice) I was never able to reach the scheduler. I finally started back with the main number of Wighton's and told I would be called again by the scheduler. Finally, I connected with the scheduler and was asked about my available for the next two days and that she would call the next morning with an idea of what time the technician would arrive. The next morning came and went. I waited at the house all day hoping the technician would arrive. Finally, late in the afternoon I received a call from the scheduler asking for my availability for the next two days. When I pressed for a four hour time block that I could expect the technician to arrive I was told that they would not be able to give me that since they are never sure how long the projects ahead of me will take. In other words, it might be tomorrow some time or the next day. I would have to wait for another call to let me know when the technician was actually on their way to our home. I suggested I would seek service from another company. One call to another local company and I had a time certain appointment. read more
