Purchased a new XBox game, added the extended warranty. Got home, loaded the game and there was a glitch in the start-up process. No biggie, it happens (hence the extra warranty Game Stop sells). Not their fault... just a manufacturing glitch (apparently the blogs say it's a rare but well-known issue). I call Game Stop customer service and am assured that it's not an issue, just return it and they'll refund the purchase. I then download it directly from the XBox/Microsoft store, things work fine, I'm glued to my couch for three hours. Well, not so fast... I go to return the (defective) game and am told that customer service often gives incorrect instructions and the best they can do is give me a new copy of the game (that I've already purchased from the XBox store). No store credit, no exchange for a new game, they can't even give me a new copy because they're out of stock. They MIGHT be willing to accept it in trade, but since I've already told them the disk is defective, they're not interested. Employees quote policy and are totally unwilling to offer any solution beyond 'call customer service and maybe we can talk with them'. 15 minutes on hold for customer service and still waiting... Game Stop has permanently lost a customer. read more

I walk in to get a replacement on a controller that I purchased a warranty for. A short lady, black hair attended me. She had no idea what she was doing, she was sending me out and telling me to do everything online. Clueless. Another guy took over and said I could help me, tall skinny black guy, long hair not reaching shoulders When I received the controller I purchased, I immediately replaced it because it came with stick drift... as you do with any faulty item. This is covered by the manufacturer or store REGARDLESS of any purchased warranty. GameStop website says this is covered. Now the guy continued to argue with me about how that replacement I did 2-3 days after buying it used up my PRP, that's not how that works. Their stupid machines don't differentiate between the 2 warranties, and we agreed that the people that had done my first exchange messed up... so what does he do? Nothing. Acknowledges that the employee of GameStop messed up, not me as a customer but didn't resolve the issue. Stopped by this location today while on a Funko Pop! hunt. Located south of Alta on Rainbow, this GameStop can be found just off Rainbow Blvd, in the general vicinity of the 24 Hour Fitness. Location is pretty small and cramped, but stocked with a ton of games and other gaming items. Of course, I was just there for the Pops! They have a small wall of Pops! in the corner, with a decent selection considering the size of the store. Average prices were $11.99 each, but they did have some for $7 and up. The associates were helpful with questions we had and the transactions went smoothly. This place was alright, but is just a spot to swing by and check out if you happen to be in the area. Don't recall having any bad experiences, location is small but usually has a good inventory. Had been keyed/upsold on the Callisto Protocol exclusive collectors edition from these guys and glad to have been. Staff determined that they didn't have it but were able to locate a similar title at a nearby location at Rainbow and Spring Mountain, and had them hold it until I could pick it up. Tough to find at first, tucked away in a large strip mall, but they very well may have what you're looking for. OK, it's a GameStop, how different can it be? I dunno, but the staff there knew what they were talking about; and even though the 'split' line for customers looked like a recipe for chaos, things were fine. Civility rules and that's important, especially in gaming. The staff was helpful and patient with me, which I appreciated. I sometimes don't know what in the world some of the gamespeak means, and I get a little lost sometimes in the possibilities within the different consoles. So, that's good for a star right there. Other GS drop off the radar, but this location, tricky though it may be to locate, is steady. read more

If I can give zero stars to this GameStop, I would. I have NEVER been turned away & blown off so fast at a GameStop ever in my life. EVERY time I go to a GameStop everyone seems seems so nice and friendly but Malcom changed that for me by giving me the worst customer service which was so unacceptable and unprofessional. I came to return a game that was purchased at a different store because it was convenient for me to go to this store since it was closer. And the first thing he says is "is it a new game? Ok, then yeah. You cannot return it. We can only do a trade!" When in the receipt it clearly says that "new items purchased can be returned within 15 days from your in-store purchase." Didn't even ask when the game was purchased or why I was returning. You would think that at this time of year, people would be a little more considerate because of the holidays. The worst part of it all, was that I didn't even set foot for a minute in this store before even being treated like I'm worthless. Since this happened, this will be the last time I will make any kind of purchases at any GameStop for a while. Just getting into gaming as a middle aged male, having come from the Nintendo generation, the graphics and story of modern games are amazing. Went in to this particular game stop to purchase the new God of War and dealt with Christopher. The guy is extremely knowledgeable about gaming and was very helpful. He convinced me to purchase a pro membership to reap its benefits and I will definitely shop there again Edit: I bought a pre-owned copy of Monster Hunter on the same occasion. I started playing it 3 weeks later and my playstation wouldn't read it. I took it back and dealt with a young man with blonde hair, a pony tail, and a suit. He replaced the copy with no fuss, no problem, and even gave me a more expensive copy off the shelf. Of course, I was still under the one month period to replace games but this associate was very professional. I will shop here again and agiain. read more

I have to agree with Mario. This is a great Gamestop. This is been my default Gamestop as long as I've been in Vegas. While there's nothing that's particularly stand-outishly unique about this store from any other Gamestop, what makes it stand out is is the great staff. A lot of Gamestops are pushy. As soon as the "Hello" is cleared, the pushes for trade-in or reserves are initiated. That's not the case here. They are helpful, but not pushy. They try to help you find what you're looking for without rushing past all the formalities to start hawking the latest games. They actually will carry on a conversation and actually make decent recommendations based off your gaming interests as they get to know you. These guys are gamers, and are not feeding you lines to get you to buy something. I appreciate the honesty. They also hold a lot of midnight release events for big games, and I've never had a single reserve issue with them. Even if I may not be able to make it in right away, one call to explain I might not make it in that day is all it takes. And when I do come in, there's my game. They look out for their customers. Any retail chain store, regardless of what they sell, are a dime a dozen. What makes one particular store stand out from another are the people who run it. And in this case, the people here are what keeps me coming back game after game, year after year. They haven't depleted my wallet yet, but they sure as heck like to try. Heh. read more

The way i look at it, your local video game shop should be like your local barber shop. Go there enough and get to know the people who work there and they can make some suggestions based on what they know of you. So i've been going to this location for a little over 3 years. More often than not it's considerably further than the places i've been living but i still do all my reservations here and occasionally drop by just to browse the used section. Get to know some of the staff such as Larry or Raffy the manager and once they get to know you they can make some REALLY good recommendations based on what you tell them. So far i've never had a problem with this store or it's staff it's the other customers that make life a living hell. I really liked this Game Stop. At first, I wasn't expecting much due to its size. However, they have a decent sized selection for all consoles. I initially came here looking for a charger for what is seemingly an obsolete device. Instead of upselling a newer device to me, they suggested a different store down the road that caters to older model consoles. They also let us browse without constant badgering, and were helpful when we did need suggestions. I ended up purchasing two games from them and will be visiting again soon... Then again, I did buy Skyrim with the 3 expansions, so I probably won't need another game for the next couple of years. read more

Because I wasn't there to spend $500 that meant we weren't worth their time. All I wanted was to purchase a replacement charger for my daughters switch. They refused to even tell me if I was buying the right item or not. I was told to "wait" until the employee was finished with their text message conversation. They were completely annoyed that I brought my child in to the store with me. Don't bother asking any questions because apparently having to answer questions is beneath them. When my husband tried to call to speak with someone they refused to answer the phone. We called over 37 times in a 3 hour period and NOT ONCE did they answer! This is the worst Game Stop we've been to. There's this one employee that just puts the rest of the store to shame. We just went in there tonight, (5/7) to return a system, controller, and some games that just turned out to be an awful experience, and we got this one guy, his name on the receipt said CHRISTOPHER but he wasn't wearing a name tag. He's a bit bigger, shorter, and had black hair. Anyway, we tell him we want to return everything and he said "Are you sure you don't wanna exchange it, I have no money." So we said no we don't, we wanna return it. He gets so upset he starts huffing and puffing and slamming on his keys. We apologize to him and he says nothing to us. He throws a huge hissy fit and won't talk to us, or look at us. He's slamming everything around, slamming the drawers of his register closed, and we felt so uncomfortable. He finally finishes and proceeds to give us our change but he doesn't even tell us the total or count it in front of us. He just hands us cash, and we again apologize and he doesn't say anything. We will never come back again because of his disgusting attitude toward customers. We were going to shop around but not after that. It's a shame, the other employee that was in there was so friendly....It's also a shame because this isn't the first time we've seen him act like this, he clearly hates his job and wants everybody to know it. You know most video game places are filled with douches but a couple of guys that work here are real nice and helpful. The best thing is you can buy a used game and return it within 7 days. You really don't get much for trade in games but used games are pretty cheap if they have been out for about 6 months so it works out pretty good. I don't buy games anywhere else. read more

I explain that to them and what kind of games I like and they give me a lot of used games to choose from. I've never bought anything on their recommendation that I regretted. Even if I did, they have that money back or equal trade thing (for 7 days I think). I've never had to use it. I like this store because of the employees.
