The acai is good, not too tart and the consistency is right. The toppings were fresh, and overall, the bowls were tasty. However, I agree with the other reviewers on the cost. It was $9 for a mini, about the equivalent of a kid's size ice cream cup. Other competitors sell their mediums with the inclusion of dozens of toppings to add on (without an additional fee) for $12. read more

I went with my mom today and she tried acai for the first time. She loved it from the first bite. I got the Honolulu bowl and she got the wild bowl, and both were very tasty. Yay finally an Acai place in La Crescenta! As an acai bowl lover, this place definitely satisfies my acai craving and is pretty decent! I built my own mini acai bowl and my boyfriend got the Protein Smoothie. The Acai is good but not the best I've ever had. I've tried better acai but this place is good enough that I won't need to drive to Pasadena or burbank for my acai bowls anymore which is a win for me. Just FYI the mini portion was tiny (snack portion) so I recommend ordering the regular size if you're coming for lunch. The topping options are also very vast but I wish they didn't limit it to 4 toppings. Premium toppings are also way too overpriced for the portion size. I paid $2 to add almond butter but since the mini size is so small already, I don't think it was worth the price. Protein smoothie was just okay to me. It was very icy and is something I could just make at home. I wish it was creamier or blended more. Açaí bowls are pretty much the only breakfast I eat, so I have a little experience in the Açaí department. I've tried other Glendale locations and nothing compares to Wild Açaí. For one thing, the açaí is perfect. It's not too under or over frozen and the flavor is delish (not all Açaí tastes the same to me). The fruit is fresh, and the crunch of the goji berries is the perfect offset. This restaurant is really consistent with portions. It's annoying when you pay for a certain size and the serving amount is different every time. Not at Wild Açaí. And the portions are generous. So in short, check them out. Just what Montrose needed! I had no idea they were even opening until I drove through Honolulu a couple days ago. I tried a customized acai bowl and the acai itself was phenomenal. Sweet, but not overpowering & the blueberries were really fresh. There was a guy working at the front who was really friendly. The inside is also nice and a somewhat relaxing place to take a break during a hot day especially. Ordered the wild acai special smoothie and the consistency was just terrible. We asked for more bananas instead of the almost butter which I understand could make it into a thicker consistency but it just felt like I was drinking blended porridge. It wasn't even fully blended so I was chewing on bananas each sip. Didn't even taste like acai at all. Also, there was only one worker in which it was her second day working doing everything by herself. We had a coupon but she didn't know how to input it in so we couldn't use it and we waited 20 min for one smoothie when there was just one party in front of us who just ordered two acai bowls. If the owner is reading this, please accept this review as an honest critique. If you don't lower your price point ($12.50) for a medium with basically just 4 toppings, you will not survive more than another year. How much cash are you willing to burn through? I was there yesterday afternoon (Sunday) and your business was empty except for two teenagers. You have lots of positive reviews because your product is ok but without repeat customers you won't make it. Just a half a block down Honolulu Froyo Life was hopping. Their prices in one sense aren't much better than yours but the quantity of product is noticeably more and customers have unlimited toppings. Roots & Rye (no, I don't work for them) offer unlimited toppings and their Large dwarfs yours. Your food costs should be 25 to 30%, your labor cost should be around 30% and your Overhead & Other semi fixed costs should be 15 to 20%. Pre-tax margin of 15-20%. If you have a loyalty program, I wasn't made aware of it. Please don't be lulled thinking that just because you have a lot of positive reviews that means you're doing OK. You need to ask yourself if these customers leaving good reviews are actually coming back week after week and my guess is no. what counts is behavior not opinion. read more
