Website says they close at 10:30pm, we arrived right before 9:30pm & asked if it was too late to do hibatchi. The door says they close at 10, but they said that's just when they stop seating for hibatchi and assured us it wasn't too late & ushered us to our grill, they were actively looking on other grills for other families so we figured no issue with the time (we would have just done sushi if too late!). Our chef was very nice but pretty low energy- totally get it, near the end of the day, but we didn't get much of a "show". The food was pretty good! At around 10 they began serious cleaning of the establishment including dumping huge buckets of water all over the floor which was not the most pleasant experience while eating. When we walked out about 10:20 we had to walk out through large puddles of water on a pretty slippery floor. I wouldn't go back anywhere close to 9:30 again. Also, if you are having an event I'd avoid the back area - the decor was really lacking in that area, and seemed much nicer in the front areas.

I have absolutely no idea what this is but they served it with the rice

Absurd amount of cream cheese in the sushi rolls and I still have no idea what the strange sauce is that they served with the rice but it still haunts me

    Stir fried Yaki Udon

This place is gross. My first issue is them charging more than what is on their website. The manager tried to tell me that they have a different website. Secondly, I ordered stir fried udon noodles. What is this. It's literally gray, the chicken has no color looks boiled, and it barely tastes of anything. Definitely not worth $60 to eat garbage. Do not eat here. On top of that the dine in area smells of urine.

    Chicken hibachi lunch special

Great experience for lunch on a Thursday! My wife and I met some family members for lunch here today! The hibachi grill is awesome! We both had chicken hibachi lunch special which came with chicken, fried rice, candied carrots, a salad and onion soup. I opted to just get the salad. The salad came with a sweet ginger dressing. The dressing is good but I should of got it on the side. They put a lot of dressing on top of the lettuce. The lettuce is just iceberg. I wish it was romaine or spinach was mixed in. My wife enjoyed the soup. We both loved the chicken hibachi. The fried rice was prepared for us and another family member with no eggs. The fried rice was delicious! We absolutely loved the carrots. The chicken was flavorful, moist and delicious! A very fun experience for lunch! I highly recommend coming here for lunch! We wish we would of asked to include some broccoli or mixed veggies as well into our chicken hibachi.

Sashimi and sushi lunch...includes miso soup and salad.

Had lunch here about 3 hours ago and I've had a stomach ache since. I don't think the sushi was fresh. I was disappointed that my sushi/sashimi lunch didn't include tuna. Maybe the hibachi is better. The only reason they didn't get 1 star is because the service was fast and polite.

Love the hibachi, but the rest of the place is also good. Prices are okay, especially at lunch. Best suchi in Holland.

Any time I'm in Holland I stop by wild chef. I'll be honest. This review is solely for the yakinuku. But it's amazing and I love it.

However, the reviews were good so we ventured in... and I'm glad we did as the inside is extremely inviting and the food was great! First of all - there's a kid's waiting area with snacks!! What an amazing idea! We sat quickly and ordered. I had the salmon entree - which was not the prettiest looking plate but wow, was it good! Cooked well and the vegetables that were steamed on the side were perfectly cooked also. Burgers looked good and everyone ate swiftly so I assume everyone's meals were delicious. Service was friendly and swift (but didn't rush us) and this spot even had clean bathrooms (which is a huge plus for a restaurant). Price is reasonable especially for the portion sizes. So, ignore the location and the look of the outside (they also have speakers playing horse sounds outside...) and head in for a delicious and friendly meal.

We loved the mushroom soup and salad! The sushi we tried were the Spicy Tuna, Jalapeño Yellow Tail, Salmon Sushi and a California Roll. The Jalepeno Yellow Tail would not be my choice to order again, the other sushi was delicious. The best part of our experience and earning 5 stars for the restaurant, was our server. The wait staff is friendly and the building is clean. The lunch price is very reasonable and the younger four typically get that. The older four of us upgrade to the dinner menu, even though the cost is a bit more, when ordering at lunchtime to open up a much larger menu with more rolls, sushimi (raw fish) and other options. My wife is from Asia and spent a lot of time in Japan and although this is not that kind of quality, the sushi rice is seasoned, there is a balance to the flavors and rice to other ingredient ratio. That seems like a very basic ask but much of the sushi in West Michigan is not seasoned. One of the rolls that is a favorite amongst most of the children as well as myself is the crunchy crab roll. It is a great roll for people that are unsure about sushi and think sushi is raw fish, lol. The reason is that it is all cooked and imitation crab, fried shrimp, and a lot of flavors. My wife's favorite roll is the dragon roll. For sushi lovers that need the sushimi in and/or on their sushi, this is a great roll. The salmon sushimi and white tuna are always a family favorite! The children like the fact that the vast amount of cooler grab and go beverages are included with the all you can eat. If I could be more precise I would give this sushi restaurant a 3.75 which ranks very high for all you can eat sushi places in West Michigan we have tried.
