Haven't been here once and I'll never go ever. Was placing an order, and you have to pre pay or they won't make your food till you show up. That's a first. I live in Buffalo Grove and we visited Stades farm in McHenry for strawberry picking. Right before we were ready to leave, I found this place on Yelp and thought I would give it a try based on the reviews and I am so glad I gave it a try. I understand the combos on the menu could be a bit pricey depends on which combo you get but it is so worth it. The taste was great, seafood was fresh and it was just such a great experience overall. I had a very bad experience on NYE that spoiled this restaurant for me. At 3:30 pm on 12/31/2020, I pre-ordered my food for pick up at 5:45pm. Upon my arrival at 5:40pm I was asked to wait in my car and my food would be brought out to me. By 6:00pm my food had not arrived so I went back in to the restaurant to ask why. After several trips back to the kitchen, and after a shouting match in the kitchen that could be heard throughout the restaurant, I was asked to repeat my order. I then asked if my order was not ready and was told it was not. When I asked why I was told "We are busy". I then said that I understood they were busy, but that I had ordered at 3:30pm for pickup at 5:45pm and did not understand why it was not ready. I was told again "We are busy". I was then rudely asked "Do you want your money back?". Being that it was NYE and I had dinner guests coming, I did not want to cancel the order. Had it been any other time, I would have asked for my money back. I really wish I had asked for the tip back as I left an 18% tip and it was truly not deserved. I was treated very rudely and there was never an apology for the lateness. To make matters worse, once I did receive my order and got it home, I discovered they missed part of my order and had to go back for it. Their food is really good so it is quite a shame that I was treated this way. Not sure that I want to go back there, after my experience. read more

The food was actually good, but the service meaning the host/waitress wasn't very pleasant right when we walked in she asked how many and I responded 3, her response was there's a wait we just put an order in for 8 ppl (mind you the only ppl in the restaurant) so I asked how long is the wait?! she responded idk I don't work in the kitchen... (which I thought that was rude) so I asked again 30 min, 1hr or 2hrs and she responded oh no like 30 min which I responded oh that's fine, but she made it seem like it was going to be a very long wait... Idk didn't feel welcomed then she had like 4 tables to attend and felt like she couldn't handle it a little flustered so maybe she needs help or doesn't want ppl going in and trying to scare them off by her responses. The only reason she got a tip was bc it automatically gets added to your bill or she wouldn't have gotten that amt. hope your service gets better! read more

Our first visit was positive. Ave eaten at others with this same biz model, and we would return again. Our server was the only one, and he got busy pretty quickly, but stayed on top of things, which was a big plus. Although there were some minor ambiance annoyance, there was nothing show stopping. We were there for Valentine's Day. We were there pretty early. Long story short, we loved the food. Everything was delicious! The service however wasn't great. Well our server, wasn't. She only checked on us twice. Once to take out order, second to bring us our food. (She was a younger girl with glasses.) she didn't state her name. We waited about 30 minutes for her to see if she would come by to leave the check or give us to go bags for our leftovers. She never did. We got up to pay. Waited another 20 minutes for a server to call her over. She still didn't come by. The person at the front rang us up. Once he rang us up, she appeared. We were pretty annoyed. Had a great meal her on my birthday! The place wasn't that crowded and service was good. A bit pricy, but for how much food we got in the combo meal, it was well worth the price. Three of us shared the "D" combo and we brought home enough leftovers for two more hefty meals. Food was a bit spicy, but there are different levels of spice to suite your taste. We went this past Saturday (July 11, 2020), THEY WERE OUT OF CRAB LEGS! They only had one server for inside and out and it was busy.
