I'm such a huge fan of breakfast food whether it's biscuits & gravy or just some old fashioned bacon & eggs and here at Wild Eggs you'll get exactly that but also some incredible service to go with it. I wasn't aware that Wild Eggs is a Louisville local business at all which makes me even happier to try them out. On this first visit I immediately love the atmosphere of a very welcoming environment. I really dig the retro looking semi-circular table you can sit at and that also even have their own bar as they do serve cocktails such as a Bloody Mary. Our server was very nice at welcoming us and letting us know all about the menu, which has a really great selection of breakfast items from omelets to Benedict's and pancakes among the many other options to choose from. I decided to go with their Carolina Casserole which is one of their listed Signature Creations and boy oh boy was it delicious! Every single bite was full of flavor and one thing I really appreciated was the portion size was not at all overwhelming and just right. We were consistently asked if we needed anything at all and always made sure that we were taken care of which is something I'm very big on. The food came out very fast and exactly as I had ordered. I had absolutely no issues at all on this visit and it is absolutely a place I'll be coming back to and one that if you're looking for a great breakfast it's lots of options and a very friendly staff this is definitely a place you should check out. read more

This would have been a 5 star breakfast if not for the poor service. I made a reservation online, not that it was needed as there were plenty of open tables. Water and menus were brought quickly. Coffee was served up nice and hot. Then, our group of 4 placed our orders. It wasn't long before our meals were served. Again, nice and hot. At least, I assume they were hot. We wouldn't know, as we had no utensils. We asked our server for setups and it took a good five minutes before they were brought to us. Then another several minutes before they brought syrup for the pancakes. Friends, they just weren't that busy. One of our diners ordered a gluten free pancake. When it was served, we noticed they brought a regular pancake. Thankfully, we spotted the error. Not the server. Our celiac diner would have been seriously ill had she eaten that pancake. They took the pancake and said they'd be back with the right one. After we had finished our breakfast, another server brought the gluten free pancake. No apology. We boxed it up to take home. Ok. Service came darn close to ruining our breakfast. Fortunately, the food saved the day. I had the Loco Hash. Eggs over easy, potato, pulled pork and a topping of Avocado. Delicious. My wife had the avocado BLT. She couldn't finish it. The pancake stack also provided a culinary challenge and half of the order went home with us. The surfer girl omelet was also a hit. In fact, the only "miss" was a side of bacon. 4 good sized strips that I would have preferred a little crisper. Very good food. Very poor service. Hopefully, it was just an off day. read more

While I was in Louisville I was looking for a breakfast place that's on my way to Indianapolis. I found Wild Eggs in my Yelp search and decided to give them a try and I'm so glad I did. My all time favorite breakfast dish is chilaquiles so I was estatic to see it on the menu. While it's not the best chilaquiles I ever had in my life, it's not bad. We went around fall/winter time so my partner got pumpkin spice pancakes, and that totally hit the spot for me. I love anything pumpkin spice flavor so every bite of the pancakes just tasted like sweet, sweet fall. Had brunch here before I left town. We came in on Sunday during brunch but only had to wait 10mins. I ordered the basic breakfast with bacon and "scrambled" eggs and subbed the bread for a side of French toast and homefries. I also had the gran gala mimosa. Great breakfast spot for a wide array of American classics. I ordered the Chicken and Waffle- the fried chicken breast was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The waffle was also good and supposedly chicken-infused, although I didn't taste much chicken flavor in there. There were some bacon bits on the waffle as well, which are always welcomed. The house made buttermilk maple syrup was tasty and not overly sweet. $14.49 is a reasonable price for this dish. The interior of the restaurant has plenty of seating with some cute breakfast/egg-themed decor including cute photos of breakfast items and a bunch of colorful eggs in a glass case. Our waitress was friendly and the service speed was pretty quick. The restaurant is located in a shopping center with a parking lot in front, making it a convenient location. We had a blood sugar emergency today- my husband and I were out doing all the Christmas chaos and his sugar dropped. Needed food now. We walked in at 1:45 and they close at 2:30. I was bracing myself for a rude experience, but instead was greeted by a friendly waitress in a breakfast place long after lunch was finished and the rest of the patrons had gone. My daughter enjoyed it and the portion size is more than filling Another was the breakfast burrito - $13.49 - flour tortilla stuffed with scrambled eggs, chorizo, cheddar & jack cheese, poblano peppers and onions, topped with queso, sour cream, and pico de gallo, avocado, and green onion. Comes with home fries and black beans. We enjoyed our brunch at Wild Eggs - the entrees were flavorful, the staff friendly, and the portion sizes quite large. A few considerations: - parking next to the restaurant is limited but ample one lot over. - if you are into dining al fresco, the outside dining area is small. - weekends? Go early or be prepared to wait 45 minutes to an hour. Only my second time here, and today I got to enjoy brunch with my girls, their guys, the grands and two other friends. Lucky for us Wild Eggs takes reservations, so we didn't have a long wait. "Table party of nine"might be intimidating to some, but Almita wasn't one of them. She answered all of my questions, and helped me decide which of my final two contenders would be the best fit for my taste. I was not disappointed with her recommendation. I got the Wild West omelet with extra jalapenos and home fries. The omelet was quite tasty, but didn't have as much kick as I like. Not to fear...Wild Eggs has hot sauce, as well as Tabasco on the table. A few drops, and the heat was cranked up to where I like it. I also had a Tequila Sunrise, which was a bit on the pricey side; however, I did have a fairly nice buzz after drinking it on an empty stomach. And it tasted great! The 4-star review is merely because there is ALWAYS a wait to get in here, and that's frustrating when you're hungry or want to enjoy a brunch but know you're going to be standing around every single time. Alas, I do realize that a restaurant that always has a wait is a good restaurant... Nonetheless, today I went out for breakfast alone and was able to walk in Wild Eggs and sit immediately at the bar since I only needed one chair - there were roughly 15 people waiting when I got there at 10am on a Saturday, and the wait for a table was 25 minutes. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito JD's way (JD's way means that they smother the burrito in a pork-based chili sauce) with fried potatoes and black beans. The plate arrived fairly quick considering how busy they were, and it was large and delicious. The potatoes were crisp, the plate was hot, and my server was very attentive, bringing ketchup, Cholula, and Tabasco without my asking. Other items I highly recommend are the oatmeal (it is served with 6 little cups of additions you can add to build your own oatmeal, like blueberries, brown sugar, etc.), the bourbon apple crepes (a small portion, but sweet and wonderful), the Mr. Potato Head hashbrowns (soooo good - smothered in a white cheese sauce!), and the orange juice is phenomenal if you can ignore the shame you feel for paying $3.50 per glass or $13/pitcher. So we've been to the Wild Eggs in Louisville and I have to say this location did not meet the mark. We did a preorder so I will give them the benefit of it being takeout but we did have to wait for the order so it should have been fresh. At the other location, portion sizes were generous and the quality was good. Here, as you can see I got hardly any eggs and my ham slice was the thickness of deli meat. Normally ham off the bone is about 1/4 thick at least, nope. The description said two slices and I also only got one. The fruit and biscuit were good. My husband got the gravy on the side and it was cool that you could split half and half with chorizo and bacon. Both were good but we preferred the bacon. His scramble was quite literally eggs with some mushrooms and a shit ton of truffle oil. He liked them enough but nothing special. The only reason we would come back (and it is worth the trip) is the cinnamon roll. Even out of the skillet and in a to-go box its AMAZING!
