Old Fashioned Oatmeal with Brown Sugar and Candied Pecans.

On 11/8/25 Swan Pointe HOA took 14 Residents to Wild Eggs in Middletown for Brunch. Our servers today were Kimberly Z and Carolina C. These servers did a fantastic job taking our drink requests and getting them to the correct guests and then they came around and took our orders. Their menu has such a great variety that it took a while for me to decide but my husband knew exactly what he wanted to have. They were only going to have the Pumpkin Pancakes for a few more days. Many had French Toast, Make Your Own Omelets, I chose Eggs Bennie and Fruit. The food came out pretty quickly and I loved how Kimberly knew exactly who got each plate. Carolina came by and checked on us so often. These 2 girls made a great team. There were a couple of guys that helped out but I didn't get their names. We had a great time talking to our friends and the restaurant's volume was low enough that we could talk to our friends. I really hated to leave. Ally is the GM and We want you to know that the staff was unbeatable! And that: The food was great. The servers were great. The ambiance was great. You all need to come and enjoy Wild Eggs! if you've never been here before!

Very kind and attentive staff and fast service, even though they were super busy! Great for a casual brunch. Everything we ordered was delicious, flavorful, and very filling. Very reasonable pricing. Kalamity Katie's Border Benedict was delicious on cheddar corn cakes, and some of the best chorizo I've had. The skillet potatoes were so crispy. The Potato Head Casserole and Carolina Casserole were both excellent, although I personally preferred the Potato Head. The muffins that came on the side were warm, fresh, and probably the fluffiest, softest muffins I've had.

I woke up wanting oatmeal and the first spot that crossed my mind was Wild Eggs. They have the ultimate oatmeal ensemble. When I say an ensemble it truly is an ensemble. Not only do you get a warm hearty bowl of oatmeal you get three choices of accompaniments. I chose brown sugar, candied pecans and strawberries. The serving size is large enough for me to eat on a couple times so that is a plus for me! The staff are always so friendly and the service was great. Added entertainment was listening to the table of men talking about the Caribbean across from me. That was a trip! It had been awhile since I had visited Wild Eggs but when I want the best oatmeal I know where to come. You can't beat the service at Wild Eggs. They're always so polite and efficient. I will add if you like spicy chicken, their Chicken & Waffles is the bomb!!!!!

They made me a dairy free waffle

UPDATE 9/22 : The manager who was so amazing and made me a dairy free waffle is gone. The new manager wouldn't even consider it and wasn't helpful at all. So, that sucks. Docked 1 star for that. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The staff, the food, the atmosphere, all of it. I currently have to do no dairy due to a dairy allergy and most places would have basically just said too bad if something I wanted had dairy BUT NOT HERE The waitress made sure to tell the kitchen I was dairy free AND THEN The manager literally made me a waffle that was dairy free. I was truly so impressed with the kindness.

Wild eggs is a good little breakfast diner that has good breakfast food and is quite busy during meal's in the morning especially. It's been remodeled and has some tables on the side and some more private areas to sit if getting there early.

When we came here we did not realize that Proof on Main is a not only a wonderful restaurant/bar but also a 24/7 free museum. You can order drinks and then walk through the exhibits. We just opted to eat breakfast first. As soon as you enter, you are standing in a colorful and fun art museum. The walls are adorned with many different types of art from living artists. The staff also encourages you to walk through the dining room and if able they will walk along as your own private docent, explaining a lot of what you see. We had to pause the dining room and bar exhibit tour for a short time to have breakfast which included: - BREAKFAST SANDWICH - Scratch Biscuit, House Sausage, - FRENCH TOAST - Ricotta, Strawberry, Pistachio - BISCUITS & GRAVY - House Sausage Gravy, Sunny Eggs, Chili Crisp Scrambled Eggs, Melty Cheese, Hash-brown - STEEL CUT OATMEAL - Spiced Apple Butter, Apples, Candied Walnuts I will not go items by item but I will say that everything was so perfect-tasty-fresh. The portions are very robust here and I am sure no one goes aways hungry. They have a lot of unique twists on items as you can see by the menu we had. After breakfast, we resumed our tour of the main floor then the basement. It's hard to describe just how large the viewing area is and all spots within the area are used for some kind of art display... Even the bathroom. Everything is so unique and I tried to capture a fair amount of it in photographs and information about the piece as well. This too should be a must visit if your in the Louisville area. Set aside an hour or two to stop in and relax with some great food and art. KUDOs to the team at Proof on Main.

My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I came here two Fridays ago ahead of a bourbon tour (thinking, correctly, that we should probably have a hearty meal beforehand so we didn't end up face-first in a gutter somewhere). Several Kentucky natives told us that we had to try a Hot Brown during our visit, and since it was literally created at the Brown Hotel, this seemed like the logical spot. The actual Hotel has some gorgeous interiors, especially upstairs in the lobby. We didn't see that area until after our meal, so when we laid eyes on the Lobby Bar & Grill, we knew immediately that that was where we SHOULD have gone for this Hot Brown dish. J. Graham's, I'm sorry to say, doesn't have the history and personality of the rest of the building and just looks like a generic breakfast spot you'd find in any hotel. It probably exists solely because the other dining options in the hotel aren't open until later and they want to give tourists and their own customers a place to eat at all times of the day, which isn't a terrible reason in my book. But it's also unfortunately not very good, and the dirty walls and overall meh appearance of the establishment just make it very clear that the hey day for this hotel overall was decades ago. The service was the biggest miss here. Our waitress was scatterbrained, often not around or around but hanging out with co-workers or talking up other customers. It was honestly pretty mystifying because when she DID come by, she was often overly apologetic and trying to make amends. But the best way to make amends is not to have to keep doing that throughout the meal. She forgot my friend's coffee (didn't write anything down when we ordered, which is fine if you remember everything but...) and when my chum asked what was in the hummus (one of just three apps), she didn't know and had to go ask someone in the kitchen. That's arguably a nitpick and she DID try to figure it out, but the lunch menu is pretty small and it was a little odd that her menu knowledge was that limited. The bigger problem was that we were in there for over half an hour longer than we wanted to be because she wouldn't come by our table. I actually actively looked for her on the way to the bathroom so I could remind her to come to our table, but instead found her off to the side gossiping with other staff. Not a good look at all. So this might have been an overall positive experience if some of the hospitality from the hotel had spilled over here. We actually both enjoyed the apps, which were the only real positives of the experience. The Bourbon Barrel Fries and the Two Timer, featuring Smoked Bourbon Hummus (bourbon tends to be the theme of your days in this town, I've found) were both really good, and I probably ate more of those than the actual entree. The fries were cooked perfectly and were well seasoned/addictive. The Hot Brown was fine for what it was (we split it to try). It's basically a dramatic turkey melt, with slices of turkey coated in cheese and other sauces. It also came with strips of bacon on top, which on a personal palate level I didn't think really helped the dish so I barely nibbled on those. It's definitely a solid entry but it wasn't mind-blowing for either of us. Maybe it's just from where we come from in the Northeast, but I'm conditioned to like my turkey with accompanying stuffing, and usually in the latter part of November. I think it felt kind of weird to be eating turkey with warm cheese. But I'm glad we tried it and got the context at least. You might have a completely different experience with better service, but I'd still recommend going upstairs for any dining. It's a much better atmosphere and you can really appreciate where this hotel fits in the chronology of Louisville. You're not going to get that from going here.
