I came here on a recommendation of a co-worker who travels here on business a lot. So glad I made the effort to find this place. Amazing! Wild Eggs was, if I understood it correctly, a local business with 4 locations that was turned into a franchise and now there are locations in about 5 states. On their way to worldwide domination, or so it seems, and I hope they keep the quality standards up as the food was delicious. Went here for brunch last Saturday, food was good, service was good. Social distancing not good. We were seated at a table set up in what was formerly waiting area. It was socially distanced appropriately from neighboring table. Older couple came in and sat down on benches even though signage says not to, then to top it off, both remove their masks and the woman proceeds to sneeze, no mask, didn't cover her sneeze. Middletown Wild Eggs location, has the best customer service, from the time you walk in the door to pickup your order everyone greets you and keeps you updated on your ordered. The food is fresh and very filling. If this is your first time at Wild Eggs I would recommended the breakfast burrito with a side of extra potatoes. Call me a band-wagoner but Wild Eggs has to be my favorite breakfast place in town. I love their Kalamity Katie (sp?). It is eggs benedict with chorizo served on cornbread. HEAVEN. Gosh, now my mouth is watering. Most (maybe all) of their meals come with an everything muffin. I am not sure if they call them everything muffins because they have lots of different ingredients and I don't know what they have in them. Or if the call them that because they are literally EVERYTHING. haha! They're really good and hard to describe. Usually there is a long wait but it's well worth it. We typically sneak into the bar area on a Sunday which is first-come-first-served. So we've never had too much of an issue getting a table. They have lots of great menu items including the breakfast burrito. It's like you have never seen before. It's huge. They also serve fresh squeezed orange juice which puts them over the top for me. I recently had breakfast at the English Station location with a friend. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and was pretty disappointed. This isn't my first time at Wild Eggs, and I've been (mostly) happy with my experiences there. The staff is always friendly, and this was no exception. Our waitress suggested I get the hot sauce on the side, and I'm glad I took her suggestion - I like hot food, it this was pretty spicy. That said, aside from the hot sauce, the chicken was pretty dry and flavorless. It was overcooked and difficult to cut. The waffles, on the other hand, were mushy. What happened? I have been to wild eggs many times just to have pancakes which I have always considered the best. The past two times I went something has changed, the flavor is not there. They are bland they taste like a boxed mix sort of gummy not fluffy but the main thing is the taste it's just not the same. I asked the manager about their pancakes and if they had changed their formula or there supplier? She said no, they're still round like they're supposed to be. I did not find that funny it was my money I was spending on an inferior product. That's all she said and walked away. The waitress was too busy on her cell phone to come by even once, when I go to a sit down restaurant I expect to have service. Of course she expected a tip maybe she doesn't understand that tip is an abbreviation for : To ensure promptness, what tip I did leave was not for promptness. Just to make sure it was not a fluke, I tried a second time at a different store with the same results. I'm an older person I do not like change once I find a restaurant that has exactly what I want I stay with it. Wild eggs is usually a hit or miss with me. Sometimes it's really good and others it's just meh. Today it was a hit. We waited about 15 minutes for a table which is typical and then an extra few minutes for a waitress which was no big deal because we watched her dealing with a needy table. So we ordered our food the same time as drinks. My husband ordered a Proud Mary *extra spicy. I think they forgot the normal amount of spiciness because it wasn't at all. We added hot sauce and it was fine. We ordered a breakfast burrito to split with a side of jalapeños and 1 chocolate chip pancake. Our waitress came back to our table a long while later and said they made our burrito wrong (they put the jalapeños inside of it) and that it would be out ASAP. I will start by saying that over the past 11 years, this place has been a staple for my and my family as the go-to breakfast spot. I love the people there like Kelsey and other waiters/waitresses. Here is my only issues with this place and why I used to give them always 5 stars and nowadays only 2 or 3....first, they used to have breakfast nachos, it was my favorite thing on the menu and after reopening from Covid, they took it off. Secondly, my number two dish was the French toast, it used to be so delicious and unlike any French toast I have had elsewhere. After reopening from Covid, they must have changed the recipe, because the French toast no falls way short of what it used to be. I have ordered it (one piece) every time juat waiting for the old taste/style to come back, but it never has. Thirdly, my go-to lunch item was the egg salad (kinda goes along with their name Wild Eggs) and their egg decor. After reopening from Covid, they took off their egg salad sandwhich. Now, my two breakfast items and one lunch item I would routinely get are not available anymore. I do like some of their other food items, but they just weren't on the same level as my favorites, which are no longer served. So, I still go here, but typically leave slightly disappointed only because I know how much better it could be/was. I couldn't have picked a better place to catch up with one of my oldest (as in time that we've known each other) and dearest friends. Life, marriage, jobs, babies, moving, sickness & health had all gotten in the way of us staying in touch so it was essential that the meal be a great one and the environment suitable to chatting and staying a while. Everything delivered on all fronts. Yes, the dreaded Wild Eggs line was in full effect when I walked in but I was impressed with the ease and quickness the host staff moved everyone to seats. They know that they're a hot commodity and they know how to manage crowds. Good. After a brief wait, we arrived to our table and started gabbing. Early into the marathon session, we began to look over the menu... and we stopped talking. It's huge. The amount of choices are overwhelming. I know some people take umbrage at this. I enjoy it. Life is all about choice; give me more of it. With so much to choose from, we did what any sensible duo would do: divide and conquer. By choosing two dishes (one sweet, one savory), we got the best of both worlds and maximized the menu. Do this. First, start off with the freshly squeezed OJ. Florida sunshine in a glass, there's no better way to start breakfast/brunch (no, not even coffee). On the sweet side, we ordered the raspberry lemon pancakes. A stack of cakes piled high, topped AND FILLED with berries, this couldn't have been a better answer to our collective sweet tooth. The cakes were fluffy, perfectly cooked, packed with flavor from the berries and batter, and topped with whipped cream. What made these bad boys even better was the lemon curd/raspberry sauce that draped the plate. You'll want to lick the plate clean. This can be awkward if you're a.) sharing the plate and b.) in public... but go for it. They're that good. On the savory side, we decided on the BLT with avocado & cheddar, served on sourdough and accompanied with potatoes. Delicious. I'm not usually a fan of sourdough, but the crunchy, chewy and slightly sour (duh) bread went so well with the salt of the bacon and creaminess of the avocado. The potatoes were plentiful and home-fried, which is my favorite preparation. In between bites, we laughed, gossiped, furrowed brows, clasped hands, and wondered wth took so long for us to reconnect. And, truthfully, I think the food and environment helped with that. The food was so good, our endorphins were sky-high. The environment was easy, so there were no negative distractions. And, the service was fantastic. I believe our server's name was Cody (I apologize if I have it wrong). She was knowledgeable of the menu, helpful when it came to choosing our food, quick with refills and to clear our plates, and preemptive when it came to actually serving our food: rather than eating off each other's plate, our orders came out on separate plates. Kudos to anticipating our needs and making our experience so easy breezy. I look forward to coming back and can't think of a better breakfast/brunch option in this part of town. read more

Bean sprouts sittin pretty atop an egg white omelet filled with avocado, mushrooms, spinach, cream cheese and lots of other goodies I can't quite remember at this moment. Soooo good! And I'm not exaggerating one bit. Wild Eggs is fabulous. The menu is filled with sooo many things that sound good on paper and taste even better in your mouth. Pancakes, waffles, crepes omelets, burgers, grilled cheese, the "Kelsey KY Brown -- I could go on, but I think you get the point. I haven't had them all, but I've seen enough nods of approval to know they'd make my cut. If you haven't had the opportunity to visit Wild Eggs, make it happen ASAP. I brought my family who were visiting from Florida. We ordered chicken fried steak and eggs, french toast, kid's pancakes, and Eggs Bennie. As usual, based on my experiences at other locations, the food came out fresh, fast, and tasty. I didn't love their french toast as much as I assumed I would (just personal preference: The bread is too sour and porous), but everything else was delicious, and my family was very pleased...and stuffed. They didn't like the savory muffins, and they found the grits (of the day) too salty. So when a bunch of us visiting Louisville decided we should go out to eat before we left, I was pumped when we decided on Wild Eggs. First, my sister had been here before and spoke very highly of it. One of our party also needed gluten free offerings and Wild Eggs has a separate menu for it, nice! So it was a Sunday so honestly, we knew it was going to be busy, especially for a party of 6. It was packed and we were quoted about 45 minutes. We weren't in a big hurry (besides hungry) so we decided to stick it out. We just used this as an opportunity to explore the menu! My sister has tried a variety of things here and said they are all good but she did admit she thinks the "sweet" options tend to be smaller portions. Decided to avoid those since I am not always a fan of a ton of sugar in the morning. We were seated a little faster than quoted and I liked that while the restaurant was full, it didn't feel cramped. Good job with the layout, the place is decorated in pictures of eggs, and other egg touches everywhere! We were promptly greeted and given a pitcher of water to use, cool concept so no one has to constantly fill water cups but the pitcher is also kinda small so it only helps a little. We got a liter of fresh squeezed OJ and it as delicious as it sounds. Our server told us about some new menu additions that I had not noticed on the front of the menu and I went and changed what I was going to order! I got a crab bennie, don't remember the exact name...delicious! I got the grits of the day which was 3 cheese and it hit the spot. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals as well, my husband got the Jimmy the Greek Frittata and he loved it. I tried some of his "everything" muffin that came with and it was very good, I was worried it would just be all onion like some "everything" baked goods are, but it isn't and everyone should try some! Prices are fair, not cheap but you get quality food. Everyone left full but not overstuffed. I definitely want to come here again and try one of their sweet options. The best breakfast I've had in a long time! I got my breakfast to-go this time. I ordered the Surfer Girl Omelet with grits. It was so fresh and so delicious! The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the veggies were crisp and seasoned well. What makes this omelet really different and so delicious is that it has a layer of cream cheese in the middle of it. The cream cheese makes it so savory and decadent, it is cheesy heaven! The grits were really great as well. They were also savory and had sausage mixed in them. The kids short stack of pancakes was excellent, fluffy and just the right portion for a hungry 6 year daughter. My wife had the Surfer Girl with veggies....amazing. The grits of the day had bacon, sausage and cheese added. ...Not true southern fair but tasty ( i finished her's). I had the western omelet JD's Way. I am a breakfast junkie and will say without hesitation this was the one of the best breakfasts i have ever had, equal to The Griz Killer from Main Street Over Easy in Bozeman Montana and the Lox Bennie from News Cafe on SOBE.
