We ordered from the specials that they had this evening. We were seated in the covered outside area, equipped with many heaters to keep us warm. The inside was nicer, but it was pretty packed and loud with many conversations. We were very impressed that our waiter (Tony, I believe) was able to tell us their specials from memory (probably about 10 different dishes) and to describe them so well that I was able to imagine them. I almost ordered the steak, but wanted to try something a little different that I do not get to have too often, which was the rack of lamb. It was tender, juicy, and delicious. I tried the stuffed shrimp and that was equally good. The service was great. My wife just got her teeth whitened and so she couldn't eat certain foods that could stain (spinach, lettuce, beets). They were accommodating and brought out a dish of other roasted vegetables (carrots, cauliflower, etc). My office went to Wild Garlic for lunch, a party of five. I made a reservation via Yelp so we were seated immediately, there were a few other tables there as they'd just opened for lunch. I ordered the Sea of Cortez jumbo Blue prawns as an appetizer, w/ rock shrimp crab souffle & smoked Gouda cheese, w/ fine herb beuere blanc and it was delicious. I tried my coworkers garlic shrimp and they were delicious as well, both cooked perfectly. I ordered the Beef tips over risotto w/ summer vegetables in a red wine reduction and it was mediocre at best. The vegetables were a weird mix and not seasoned at all. The beef tips were cooked well but again, bland. The risotto was nice but this plate was just weird. The chocolate mousse cake made up for it, great flavor! Our server was Michelle, she was kind and knowledgeable but boy do they have an extensive menu! She recited all the highlights for that day. This was our first and last experience with this restaurant. If you are bitten once you don't come back a second time. The bench seat in the booth not being secured causing me to slip forward frequently during the meal should have been a tip-off. Follow that with a menu so grimy with greasy finger prints that it caused me to ask the server to clean it off should have been the second. But the real corker was the secretive pricing on the 'specials.' When the server orally revealed that there were daily specials she did not mention any pricing for any of them - none. Most restaurants either offer a printed listing of daily specials along with prices. Either that or the prices are offered for each item orally. In this case neither of the above were offered and it wasn't until the bill arrived that I realized I had just eaten a piece of meat that cost three times what other offerings on the menu would have cost. I said nothing of course because it was on me for not asking. But the last straw was when the final bill arrived with a twenty-dollar charge for using my credit card. I'm sorry but no, and unfortunately, our server received an exceedingly small tip for the failings of her employer. You can trick and deceive a customer only so far and someone will end up with the end of it. Unfortunately, our server paid as much as we did. So it goes. read more

First impressions are important and that was what failed greatly for our Valentine's date meal at wild garlic Grill. I do not want to cast a negative review to all the people there since most were good, but the initial interaction at the host station with the gentleman working there, which seemed like the manager, and the other hostess that was an older female was awful. They were both rude and quite disrespectful. Their lack of connection (little eye contact and would rather communicate to one another than us) and friendliness when we checked in, made the start of our Valentine's Day experience uncomfortable. We wondered if we should go elsewhere or hope it got better. Luckily our server Michael was pleasant and the food was good. We expect those in leadership roles to make a great example and welcome people into the restaurant, instead they set a tone of a very disappointing meal. After dinner, we left thinking we would never return again since there are much better restaurants that respect and appreciate their clientele. read more

The food was very good. My husband got a special ciopinno. It was HUGE with an entire lobster tail along with miscellaneous shellfish, and miscellaneous fresh fish. Enough for 2-3 people. The grilled pastrami sandwich was okay, meat was slightly dry. The mushroom soup was very good. Our server had only been there 2-weeks, but she was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. A+++ server. This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. It's consistently exceptional. The food is plated artistically with extremely large portions. The flavors are always so unique yet cohesive. Our server was great. He listed off every single special they had without wavering. We were so impressed! Wow what a gem!! We came here for my birthday dinner and actually were originally going to Flemings. Our Uber driver suggested this restaurant and it honestly was probably the best meal we have had in 2022! ATMOSPHERE: such a cool chic vibe with chalk handwritten menus all over. SERVICE: we had awesome and attentive wait staff! They had many suggestions on the menu which we sampled and really enjoyed!! FOOD: the food was amazing!! We tried the special appetizer which was the seared foie gras and man it was delicious!! Super flavorful and moist! The lamb chops were also a big hit! Highly recommend. We also got a steak and some shrimp lobster that was equally delicious! Overall we had a WONDERFUL meal at this small unique hole in the wall restaurant!! Let me start out with that I love this restaurant and would order the garlic fries or vegan entree any day. But our experience yesterday was insane for a restaurant in the foothills. We walked in and sat at the bar with a pitcher sitting right in front of us so we moved to the high top at the bar only to find out that the first high top had restaurant supplies all over it and our high top had a dirty glass next to it and silverware buckets and baskets and servers supplies on it. We ordered two beers and watched two ladies deny their food right off the bat because it had sat for over 10 minutes under the warmer. Let me say this was like the dead time of the restaurant before 4pm. We then noticed boxes everywhere and unorganized liquor bottles everywhere. It was HAPPY HOUR and the tvs weren't even on!!! After multiple staff and patrons had mentioned they were off and should be on. Then if things can't get any worse the kitchen staff were going in and out of the main door past us with garbage!! Multiple times. Having worked in many restaurants there are back doors for a reason. That should NEVER be allowed in a nice restaurant such as this. It was seriously the dead time of the restaurant and non of this stuff should have been visible and should have been taken care of. Lastly I noticed they use total GARBAGE olive oil!!! They use OLIVE POMACE OIL!! That's TOTAL BOTTOM FEEDER OLIVE OIL!!! It lacks the flavor and antioxidants (like polyphenols) of extra virgin olive oil due to the refining process. For such an expensive restaurant and such high clientele I would expect they would demand bare minimum which should be EVOO!!! Little does anyone notice all the barrels of olive pomace oil everywhere. Guess you have to be drunk to eat here. Totally insane for a restaurant that's supposed to be as nice as it is and take in as much revenue as it does. read more

We've eaten at Wild Garlic Grill several times, both before the pandemic and recently. We've found that the servers are very friendly, but--as others have mentioned--it's very noisy inside (even walking through to the patio), the wait after ordering can be very long (an hour one time), and the food isn't as perfect as one would like for the price. The pluses - great servers, many specials in addition to menu options, shareable portions. The minuses - long waits for entrees, overly rich sauces on most entrees, and vegetables that border on raw. The last time we were in, my partner had the swordfish special, and I had lobster-stuffed salmon special. Our waitress was lovely and made sure that our beverages were full and that we had as much bread as we wanted while we waited. The entrees, as usual, were large! The waitress even commented that my salmon probably would make two to three meals for me (she was correct). Both the swordfish and salmon were cooked properly. The lobster stuffing was too rich for me to eat, and the vegetables on both plates were inconsistent - some cooked well and others virtually raw. We'll try Wild Garlic Grill again, but it may be awhile. read more

With hundreds of restaurant visits over the course of a few years, it fairly uncharacteristic of me to leave a such a low review, however cockroaches really take it to another level. After placing our orders, we were presented with a complimentary loaf of bread that tasted delicious, heightening our anticipation for the upcoming meal. However, our excitement quickly turned to shock when we noticed a FAT ROACH sitting on the wall next to our table. The presence of a roach in a restaurant is undeniably alarming and raises concerns about cleanliness and hygiene practices. Unfortunately, the staff seemed unaware of the situation for about a minute as we awkwardly waited for them to address the issue. We were the only guests in that section during that time of night. Once alerted, they wanted to reseat us at a different table. We really should have just left. The manager hunted and killed the initial roach. The wait staff seemed completely unphased by the critter which now obviously infest the land and the surrounding areas. Not longer after, we noticed another friend scaling the floors and walls, likely hunting for food. At this point we just left. Personally felt embarrassed by the situation as I've NEVER left a restaurant before, but I wouldn't regret doing it again. While the Wild Garlic Grille Restaurant tried to make adjustments with the seating arrangements, it was a too little too late. They did end up giving the food away, on the house, but unfortunately this rating is 100% based on the lack of bug/pest control preparedness and not necessarily on the quality of the food. The encounter with the roaches greatly overshadowed these positive aspects. Hopefully management takes this feedback seriously and implements measures to prevent such incidents in the future. I know that bugs are bugs, but roaches live in large groups and they feast on trash and food. If I'm to pay for $50+ a meal, I'd expect the facility and surrounding neighbors to at least control all pests. read more

First of all, I ate at this restaurant years ago when it was on 1st and the food was amazing then. I ended up going with my partner this weekend for the first time in Skyline location, which is pretty but not really atmospheric. There was one weird thing. They brought us bread, which I ate half a piece of and a bug crawled out of the other half. My partner noticed and pointed it out and we asked the server to take bread away, telling him issue and he sort of shrugged. Besides that, the food was outstanding. The elk, which I had never had before, was the most incredible layers of flavor. The Peruvian potatoes were as my partner said, so good he could bath in them. Wonderful seafood and the tastiest vegetables. Port after dinner was sublime. Just a lovely meal. We will probably go back. read more

We went there this evening, as is our usual routine celebrating our girls going back to school after break, and sadly this will be the last time we go. Our last few visits, we have noted a decrease in the overall quality of food, but after tonight we won't be returning. My daughter and I both ordered braised beef shortrib, while my husband and other daughter ordered chicken and ribeye respectively. When our orders came out, both short rib meals were still cold in the middle indicating that they had been cooked previously but then reheated for our meal this evening. They took them back, but by the time they came back, my husband and other daughter were completely finished with their meal, so we ate by ourselves. After cooking it again, the meat was completely decimated and indistinguishable from all of the mushrooms and sauce it was floating in. It was overall inedible. Ultimately, we paid $100 for two plates of very sad food. This was it for us as we will not be returning, and I caution others about trying Wild Garlic, as they have definitely lost their touch. We will now find a new place for our anniversary and other celebratory events. Good bye Wild Garlic! read more

Warning!!! This was our 5th year attending Valentine's Day dinner at this restaurant and our party of six was disappointed to say the least. After sitting at our table for 30 minutes and not yet meeting our server, we asked a hostess if we could at least order drinks, follow by our understanding for the busyness, even with a reservation. Our server came up shortly after this. She seemed promising at first, taking our drink order but unfortunately our drinks and our server never returned. After our party of 6 waited over an hour without a drink we asked to speak to a manager. At this point our server came up promptly ready to take our order after making a rude comment under her breath. I stated I would actually rather just to speak to a manager. The server then went on to say "Did you want to order your food or not?" I again stated I would rather speak to a manager. The manager then comes over. She showed a lack of patience or empathy to our situation repeating its Valentine's Day and they are busy. She then went on to say "I am rambling and to just get to the point!" Another individual in the party said we would like another server. The manager said fine and walked away. At this point it was almost 1.5 hours into our reservation and all we had was our drinks and were extremely frustrated. We chose to leave this reservation where we paid $90 for 6 drinks and had no discount for our troubles on Valentine's Day! Forgot to mention the multiple dirty glasses and it was NOT even raining at this point in the evening for the "Owner" to use this as an excuse as she has in previous reviews. Worst service and dining experience we have ever had. We then went to a different restaurant, nearby, where we were served drinks and had appetizers ordered within 15 minutes of walking in the door. This restaurant was just as busy if not more. All we wanted was a great night like everyone else but unfortunately all this restaurant did was discourage us from ever returning. read more

Underwhelming, and mediocre- or not bad but not good. Caesar salad overdressed with way too much cheese- had to scrape some off. Should order dressing on the side if you don't want soggy lettuce leaves and high cholesterol. Which brings me to the scallops- they were well cooked. Tender. However, the presentation with corn risotto (puzzling) and random butter soaked vegetables left me unable to finish more than 2. The plate lacked flavor and direction. We had a reservation for 6 for a birthday party and asked to be seated at the round tables in the center of the floor but were relegated to two tiny tables haphazardly pushed together. Overall just not impressed. I wasn't happy to go in the first place after my last experience but will do everything possible to never come back. Hopefully my friends were equally as underwhelmed and won't subject me to a plate of butter laden sadness. read more
