I had a nice dinner with my family to celebrate a birthday. We ordered the sausage trio appetizer which was good but was a little light for $21. I ordered the ribeye steak which was okay, I ordered it well but it came out rare, which isn't the end of the world but not what I ordered. The portion was good but the cut seemed just okay for a premium ribeye, the potatoes were just good but didn't strike me as well seasoned, but I did love the carrots and thought they were delicious. The service was great and the server brought me a free creme brulee for the steak mixup which wasn't the end of the world. Overall, I had a good time, the prices are a touch high and add up quickly, but Wild River Grille is a staple of the Reno Riverwalk and you can't go wrong dropping by.

I was in Reno for two nights, so I had a chance to visit one decent restaurant. I liked what the Wild River Grille had to offer. I ordered a steak and a salad, predictable, I know, sorry. My server, Enrique, was amazing, very professional and courteous. I sat outside and had a nice view of the river, it was a pleasant experience overall. The steak itself was grilled perfectly and the salad had fresh ingredients and was put together tastefully. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good dinner while in town.

Brunch is one of my favorite meals and I was so excited to see that Wild River Grille started serving on weekends! They have a lovely patio so we chose to sit there. They make sure to have plenty of shade and it's so nice sitting by the river. We started with bottomless mimosas and had the Eggs Benedict and wild berry waffles for our entrees. The little potato cakes that accompanied the Benedict were delicious-I'm not really a hash brown fan but loved these! Both entrees were great and our server JJ was outstanding-service is always stellar here. Bonus was a really good band with a jazzy sound started playing at 12:00-so fun!

My first time coming here and the service was friendly, with good suggestions for wine pairings. My husband and I split the salmon dish (and we were told there was a $5 charge to split the dish but extra sides would be added). I liked that they added more sides and the size of the fish was perfect after we split it. We each ordered a salad which was also a great size. The kale salad was delicious with a little heat to it, fresh strawberries, and the perfect amount of dressing. We also had room for crème brûlée. Great date night and nice to finally try the Wild River Grille!

I decided to celebrate my birthday with my friends here during their happy hour. We were a little disappointed that their happy hours changed and all their best apps were gone from their happy hour menu. I made a reservation for my group and when we walked in, we asked if we could add another person. The hostess made it seemed like it was inconvenience even though there were multiple tables open. In the end they were able to change our table with no issues. Like usual, the drinks and food we ordered were delicious. Overall a good visit! Disappointed about their happy hours changed.

We made reservations at Wild River Grille to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary on April 8 2026. What a wonderful, wonderful experience! Annalee was SO gracious, friendly and accommodating. I don't order Filet Mignon often, but this Entrée was literally "done to perfection". It was delicious and tender, served with cowboy butter, asparagus, on an amazing parmesan risotto cake. My wife had their New York steak special with "duck fried " Fries and Delta asparagus- SO GOOD. Imagine our surprise when we ordered Bread Pudding for dessert and it arrived at our table emblazoned with a chocolate "Happy Anniversary" decoration wish on the plate! (See photo) All in all, an awesome experience at what has to be one of Reno's premier dining locations! We can't wait to visit again and perhaps dine outdoors on their charming lighted patio on a warm summer evening.

If you are planning a night out at the theatre, you might want to reconsider your pre-show dining destination. While Wild River Grille clearly markets itself to the arts-going crowd, our recent experience suggests they haven't quite mastered the timing required for an stress-free evening. We arrived at 6:00 PM, giving ourselves a full two hours before an 8:00 PM show. Despite the early start, the service was consistently behind the beat: * Order Taken: 6:17 PM * Salads Served: 6:30 PM * Drinks Arrived: 6:40 PM (Ten minutes after the food had already hit the table) The most frustrating part of the evening was watching the table next to us. They arrived well after we did, yet they managed to finish their appetizers and full entrees before our main courses even appeared. Our entrees finally arrived at 7:30 PM, leaving us a frantic 30 minutes to settle the bill and get to the theatre. We ended up rushing through the meal so quickly that we couldn't actually enjoy the flavors or the atmosphere. Once we brought the significant delay to the staff's attention, they did acknowledge the lapse in service and applied a discount to our bill. While we appreciate the gesture and the attempt to make things right, a discount doesn't quite replace a relaxing pre-theatre meal. For a restaurant that positions itself as the go-to spot for diners heading to a show, the lack of urgency and disjointed pacing is still a major drawback.

Everything about this place was incredible, from the food to the views to the service! We were seated outside. The sound of the flowing river also greatly enhanced our dining experience. We ordered the braised short rib, bison burger and seared pork belly. The flavors on everything was bomb! The short rib was super tender. The pork belly was accompanied with honey and chopped pistachios. The bison had 2 super thick patties (one of the biggest burgers I've seen in a minute). And of course once we were done with our meals, we had to round it off with dessert. So we ordered the Bundt cake à la mode - with more crushed pistachios and caramel drizzle. Perfect way to round out a perfect dining experience. Highly recommend!

We have been coming here with family for birthdays and holidays for the past couple years and sadly this will probably be our last time going. We came on Mother's Day so it was busy and we gave them a break for that but the food was not worth the price. I ordered the New York medium rare and my husband ordered the ribeye steak well done, but they flipped our doneness. They were really busy so we didn't want to send back to have them re-cooked but we were pretty disappointed. For appetizers we ordered the Sausage Trio which was ok but not great, and my sister-in-law ordered the hummus plate and she said it was the most bland thing she'd ever had. I think the quality definitely has gone down in the past few years but the price has only gone up.

Came here Friday evening for an early Mother's Day with my husband and little and it was super yummy! We ordered the pork belly as an appetizer and that was divine! I ordered the lamb chops which was very good a little to much pepper but it was still very good! The service was good and the view outside is pretty we will definitely be back in the future

Visited this place as work dinner with my team and overall it was a good experience! The food was good and tasty and overall had a good flavor. The appetizers were good as well and really tasty. The ambiance was great being downtown and right on the river which made it a great experience. The customer service was great and the young lady helping us was amazing. Would definitely come back to eat here. Certainly a place to come enjoy a nice dinner.

I always enjoy coming to Wild River Grille whether that's a random lunch when no one is around or when the place is jam packed before a show at the Pioneer Center. It's so nice that it's right by the river and is both a great place to be with friends or for a more intimate dinner date. My favorite starter has to be the glazed Brussels sprouts, they're flavorful, not mushy, and the blue cheese and bacon go so well together with the sauce. I also always go for the Wild River Salad; light refreshing. Beyond that, their menu is always changing so it's fun to try something new every time. Similarly, the seasonal cocktail menu is always changing so it's fun to try new drinks as well! Of the house cocktails the margarita is solid and the classic razz is pretty good. They also do have a couple of non-alcoholic options. Overall, always a great spot!

This is one of those restaurants I seem to find myself always going back to. The food is consistent, and it's the perfect spot to grab dinner before seeing a show at the Pioneer Center. The Brussels sprouts are a must order every single time. They're crispy, flavorful, and just done right. The mushroom ravioli is absolutely amazing and one of my favorite dishes on the menu though it is only available during dinner(I wish this was an option during lunch time). The truffle fries are also really good and impossible not to finish. The pork belly is another standout since it is rich, well-cooked, and super satisfying. It melts in your mouth! Their salads are surprisingly good too, especially when you add chicken, which I like to do. It makes for a lighter option that's still filling. On top of all that, the cocktails are solid and well made, making it a great place to relax. Overall, it's a go to spot since it is reliable, delicious, and perfectly located for a pre-show dinner. It has something for everyone!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! We had only a few weeks notice to plan our wedding after deciding to get married in Reno (we live about 2 hours away), and I was looking for a restaurant that could accommodate my reception of about 20 people and stay within COVID-19 guidelines. Wild River Grille went above and beyond to work with me on planning the perfect dinner! We rented out the gallery room and it was perfect for the event. They dressed up the tables with pink accents at my request, and even let me bring in my own cupcakes from a local baker (Cake You Happy) and arranged them for me in cute display. The food was amazing, and they were able to make a special delicious plate for a vegan friend as well. I wish we would have taken more photos of the beautiful food to show here. The service was above and beyond great as well! We plan to come back at least once a year to celebrate our anniversary. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

Great lunch options. Although I sat inside there is a patio area to sit in. Service was kind and efficient. I would try the pear and Brie sandwich or the beet chip salad, both you can add protein to. Their flavored tea and lemonade is great, I would suggest the mango lemonade. I know they have happy hour from 4-6pm but got there a little too early. Will come again! read more

Omg I can't remember having a better experience of dinner! From the time we got there to the time we left service was top notch!! Justin was our waiter and his recommendations from wine, appetizers and main dishes were spot on! Brussel sprout appetizer was amazing and elk was cooked and marinated to perfection!! One of the best happy hours in Reno! Good list of cocktails, beer/wine, and food to satisfy a diverse group of people. Happy hour food is also expansive and most things are large and sharable. During warm months you can also sit along the river, which is lovely to take out-of-towners. I've been several times for lunch and dinner, as well, and both the service and food were excellent--especially their giant candied pork belly/bacon. My gosh that what so surprisingly amazing. read more

Wild River Grille is one of the nicest places to eat downtown that isn't inside a casino. It's situated right on the river across from the Pioneer Center, which makes it great for a nice dinner date before a show, and they usually have some kind of special menu prepared for showgoers as well. Their appetizers are delicious, I especially loved the cheese croquettes, though according to the menu on their site they don't make those anymore. It can a bit loud when it gets busy as the restaurant is fairly small inside, but overall it's still an enjoyable experience. read more

I a BLACK WOMAN came in around 8:10pm and was told by a female hostess that they were completely booked and only taking reservations. She graciously offered to put in a take out order for me. However, 5 minutes later a White couple came in, no reservations, and their name was placed on the waiting list by a different hostess. I asked him what time do you all stop taking reservations and walk ins. He stated, "they stop taking customers around 8:45pm." I told him it's interesting that when I came in I was told, by the female hostess, that they were not taking any ppl without reservations. He responded, that two tables just opened up a few minutes ago and that's why the ppl who came in after me names where placed on the waitlist. He then offered me a table, which I kindly declined. He also stated that he's not sure what the other hostess told me. What BS! It's hard not to be offended! read more

She was responsive, professional, accommodating and friendly. The wait staff that night was excellent and the food was really good! We had a pleasant time at the Wild River. Service was attenrive and pleasant; 530 on a Saturday night seemed to be a perfect time. Hubby had a Sapphire and Tonic; I tried their John Daly. Mighty nice drinks. For dinner the hubby ordered a NY steak, medium rare, came out perfect. He added the extras on to it and it was well worth it. I ordered the Truffle Ravioli - it was good, not the best - came out more like soup. And had onions, so if you aren't in the mood for that, make another choice! The key lime pie slice we got was small, cold and dry. I think you could obtain a tastier dessert down the way at the Chocolate Bar. read more

Had dinner here at 730 on a Thursday night, not very busy, so that was nice. Good food, great service and comfortable atmosphere. Prices were on the up side, I paid $36 for a 14 oz new york strip with minced sweet potatoes. Outside the restaurant has seating with heaters. Riverfront walk right outside, which was really nice. All around nice restaurant, might come back one day if I'm in the neighborhood. read more

I had been here a few times before, but it has been a little while. It didn't disappoint! The crab cakes were phenomenal and Enrique, our waiter was amazing! Only recently discovered Reno's Riverwalk district. Not being from Reno I guess it's no surprise... but what great restaurants I've overlooked! Been to Wild River Grill twice in the past month and its been exceptional. I especially loved the Glazed Brussels Sprouts and the Chipotle Salmon I had recently. This is one of those "I wanna try it" spots that has been on my radar for a while, but we finally made it happen last night... Their regular menu is a bit pricey for my liking, so happy hour was the obvious solution. My friend and I got there around 4:30 and were immediately seated under the umbrella maze outside (nice breeze, without the July late afternoon sun melting us). Our waitress was super quick to bring us waters and greet us, but like other reviews mentioned, we did have to ask for a Happy Hour menu as it was not brought out with the dinner and drink menus. We both got a glass of house chardonnay - $4/glass can't beat that and decided to split the caprese bruschetta and a wild river salad. Wine and food both came out very fast! I WANTED to take a picture of the bruschetta, honest I did. But I was getting hangry and it just looked and smelled so delicious that we started eating before I realized what I had done! I'm a sucker for caprese salad, then put it on bread and add pesto and a sweet balsamic reduction drizzle, I'm sold - delicious! The salad was good too, nothing crazy but the apples, cranberries and gorgonzola cheese were a nice combo. After polishing off our wine and food, we decided we'd have one more glass of wine and give the spinach artichoke dip a try, I'm glad we did. Hot, gooey, cheesy dip served with toasted pita wedges. Another yummy win, in my opinion, especially at happy hour price! By the time we left around 5:30ish the outside tables had nearly filled up (with people and dogs!). Keep in mind they do take reservations, even during happy hour! I will be back again for another happy hour date, still not sure I want to pay the substantially higher prices outside of the happy hours specials. If you find yourself on the river on a lovely day, I highly recommend sitting outside and taking advantage of the people watching and their happy hour! read more

Went here today, 10/23. Had bruschetta, Brussel sprouts, ahi tuna for starters. Then chicken Cobb , chicken wrap and beet chip salad. Everything was AMAZING! Would definitely come back. Our service from Grant was impeccable! read more

This place is just awesome! We eloped in Reno and needed a place to have a dinner with our family and thankfully they were able to accommodate all 15 of us (while following social distances rules). We were seated right away by the super cute hostess Emma. She made sure we were at a table kind of away from everyone because that's what we wanted. Korey wasn't our waitress but she had walked by and answered questions for us and found a great whiskey for my boyfriend to drink. Then our actual waiter Danny went above and beyond to help us. He let me taste test wines and gave great recommendations. He was one of the best waiters I have had in a long time. The food was also great. Everything about the night was amazing. Went here for lunch yesterday during Hot August nights here in Reno. A very busy event. We were expecting a long wait but got in right away. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was great. We got the black bean burger and it was very yummy. We also got the lobster mac and cheese that was also pretty good. But the fries were my favorite! I could've just eaten a whole plate of those! If we are in downtown Reno again this will be on my list to stop by again! read more

At first, we were hesitant to dine-in because of Covid-19, but luckily there was an option to dine outside, so we went for it! The food was amazing!! The New York Steak and the Spicy Shrimp Pasta was so good!! Highly recommend. The service here is great as well. Our server Jensen was really nice and attentive. First timer! Sat at the bar to avoid a long line to sit at a table. Very popular place. The ambiance was very mellow and cozy. Great place for a date. Service was friendly enough not to complain. Bartender was slammed which kept him from adding a personal touch but he was very efficient and nice. Stiff drinks a major +. I got the rainbow trout and it was delicious. I tried the filet minion of the fellow next to me and it was even better than the trout. Food is great, but be prepared to pay a premium for it. They had live music and a great ambiance outside, which would be worth the wait next time. Recommend and great for a date night. read more

I have heard nothing but good things about the WRG and finally had the opportunity to check it out for myself. I went on Saturday night with a girl friend and had no problem getting a table. We started with the Caprese Bruschetta which was so flavorful and really nice sized portion. My friend ordered the French Onion Soup and Braised Short Ribs. I had the Wild River Salad and Plum Chipotle Salmon. All the flavors were super delicious and the preparation perfect (short ribs incredibly tender and the salmon melt in your mouth consistency). The margaritas were just the right mix of not too sweet and good ratio of tequila. The service was also attentive but not over bearing. I can't wait to go back with my husband, who looks for good value, decent portions and great flavors. WRG does not disappoint! read more

Excellent food. Love the patio. Came here twice this week from Truckee just for lunch. Veggie flatbread, shrimp tacos, prime rib sandwich, and hamburger were amazing. Delicious food! The house salad is great as well. Highly recommend! read more

This is a great local place to hang out especially during nice summer evenings along the Truckee River. Always a great local music scene too with wonderful selection of drinks, wine and food. Ordered bruschetta as an appetizer and berry lemonade cocktail. The grapefruit moscato sangria is a great freshening summer drink. Love this place. read more

This was our first time eating here, and we will most definitely go back. If my husband was writing this review, I suspect he'd give it 5 stars. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars, is because it didn't wow me. There was absolutely nothing wrong, I'm just not blown away. We came for a little 4 year wedding anniversary happy hour. We arrived at 5 p.m. and We found parking close by at The Basement, so that was nice. We were seated right away in a back corner. It wasn't the greatest seat in the house, but it was nice because my husband and I talk about crazy stuff sometimes, and I didn't feel like I had to censor myself. I had looked at the menu before I came, so I knew what we wanted to order. Water was provided, and we ordered a house wine and a gin and tonic. My house wine was just okay, I have had better. The hubby's gin and tonic were probably the best I've ever had. It must be the ratio and the fresh lime, but all 3 were solid. Yes, he had 3. For food, we ordered the garlic fries, garlic wings, and BLT sliders to begin. I was going to order a salad, but the point was to share and I knew he wasn't having any of that. The food arrived rather quickly. The garlic fries were covered in garlic with a ranch cilantro dipping sauce and ketchup. We never eat ketchup unless it is from The Depot, so that was quickly discarded. Cilantro ranch was yummy, not too overpowering with the cilantro. The fries were cooked so crispily and perfect, that I ate more than I had originally planned. The wings were surprisingly good, and we received 8 medium sized wings. I LOVE chicken wings and I really loved sauced wings, so I wasn't too sure I was going to like these, but they were awesome. These were also cooked perfectly. The BLT sliders had avocado mayo, so I didn't think hubby would enjoy them, but he thought that they were awesome, he loved the slider buns they came on. I thought they were a typical BLT, not much to write home about. We then ordered the pork belly sliders because hubby just HAD to have them. I don't like pork belly, so these were for him. However, once they arrived and he couldn't stop RAVING about how great they were, I had to take a bite, which led to me eating the whole thing because it was delicious! Overall we had a great time and it's the best upscale happy hour we have found.4 apps, 2 cabs, 3 gin and tonics, $50. and a tip. That is a steal. You can't really beat that. If I was just basing this off of service and the lovely patio seating there would be more stars. Maybe dinner is better because the burger I had was bland. No flavor in the meat and over cooked from what I asked for. The warm greasy lettuce mixed in with the pieces of onion was not a good flavor. Tried the regular and truffle fries and they were just meh. Nothing special at all. Burger was lacking flavor big time and it was the special of the day. Nothing very wow unfortunately. Left wishing I'd tried a different place. read more

After a disappointing stop down the street, we decided to finally try WRG and we were very happy we did. We sat at the bar. Drinks and service were excellent. I had the Elk Medallions... also great. We want to go back and try sitting outside next time... nice setting on the river. Highly recommend! read more

When we showed up, we asked if we could sit at a table outside, the guy was a little overwhelmed, he said "I can sit you in 10 mins". I said "can we have this table". Then a table on the railing with shade opened up, I didn't care about the table was dirty with dishes, so we decided to move. I love to look at the river and watch the people go by. He came over to our table I said "I hope you don't mind, I moved to be in the shade, I know I'm one of those pain in the ass customers". This included: cup of cream of mushroom soup, pretzel bites, spinach dip, poutine fries and Brussel sprouts. 2/5 were a huge hit where the orders we would not try again. Cup of mushroom soup: cup size is a good appetizer portion, good mushroom taste but WAY too salty. Would not order again. Pretzel bites: SUPER YUM! Slightly crunchy at the corners and fluffy inside. Perfectly bite sized and great dips (cheese and mustard). Loved these and would absolutely order again. Spinach dip: not a fan. Talk about feeling spoiled with the whole place to ourselves! Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. We knew they had just hired a new chef and he has been working hard on a new menu that will rollout very soon. Apparently, he has offered several specials over the past few weeks as an "introduction" to his culinary talents and all have been well-received. We look forward to returning when the new menu is fully integrated. The whole restaurant/bar/club is beautifully decorated and feels very upscale, but not pretentious. Quite an enjoyable way to spend the day with friends and family.

I've had just about everything on the menu, and not once have I been disappointed. GET THE SALTED BUTTER PECAN ICE CREAM!! You will most likely be too stuffed to eat it there, but take some home. It'll be the best decision you ever make. If I had one complaint, it would only be that they get very busy on weekends, so it can be tough to grab a table. I highly recommend making a reservation! The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. But we were stopped outside by another customer that was seated 2 tables behind us and they said they are going elsewhere to get more food and how they think that there's drama in the kitchen and how our waiter/owner seemed angry and slammed the menu down at the bar. That sirloin was so well done they must have cooked it twice. It was like eating a middle school burger with a knife and fork. This place is decent. Just stick to burgers and wraps and you'll be fine.

My husband had a similar experience, he didn't like the schnitzel, (also very tough) but loved the fries! We have been spoiled on really good schnitzel though so probably are biased! Very nice seating and ambiance! Just not the best food I've ever had. I would try it again, but would not recommend getting schnitzel here.

Also, don't miss the extra seating tucked away behind the bar if the front looks full. I also opted for their house michelada paired with a shot for $8 (I believe), which was a great deal. Another nice touch was their frequent visitor stamp card. I'll definitely be back and plan on trying the chicken wings next time. I saw so many people ordering them, and they looked absolutely delicious. Royce has a great atmosphere, great food, and easily earned a return visit from me.

It's all about perceived value. My family and visited Wild River Grille on our way home from Las Vegas. We were too hungry to look around for other options. Upon arrival we were fortunate to get a patio seat. My family of 4 each ordered an entrée, 2 chicken, 1 Salmon, 1 shrimp pasta, 1 appetizer to share and zero drinks because it was late and we were driving, we chose water. There was no bread or chips and salsa for the table, I thought it wise to order an appetizer. The first appetizer we ordered was the hummus, but they were out of hummus. The appetizer we ordered the second time was bruschetta it arrived with 5 two-inch crostini's, we each had one, and the kids rock, paper, scissored the last. So far.... ok. As the entrées arrive and I was shocked at how small the portions and presentations were. The chicken entrée my husband and I received was an incredibly small. I will say the few bites we did received were in fact tasty. However, the bed of thin, runny maybe mashed potatoes (???) the chicken rested on hadn't any flavor and there was a few tiny and I mean seriously tiny pieces of broccoli on the side. Needless to say, adding to my great dissatisfaction, my husband and I were still very hungry after the meal. In addition to our already unsatisfying experience our bill was $148.69. Taking in consideration the drive time ahead of us, I promised to make us both grill cheese sandwiches when we get home. I politely mentioned my discontent to the waitress and paid my bill. After spending the last week and a half in Arizona and Las Vegas not paying less than $100-$250 for any meal 2-3X daily and always feeling completely satisfied, I was quite disappointed at what we received from the Wild River Grille in Reno. Sadly, for them we will not be returning nor will we ever recommend this place to anyone. If I may suggest to the management of the Wild River Grille, up your portion sizes to complement the customers desired value. These teaser entrées provided at the time of our visit make you and your business practice look profit focused only and ill prepared to provide a quality customer experience. The benefit gained by doing so will help build a better perception of value for your customer and inherently generate continual repeat business. *** As any restaurateur should know a patron's perceived experience is their reality. I am confident in stating the Wild River Grille has indeed fallen short of providing a quality and valued experience. read more

I know that I am doing this a little late but I've been out of the country on vacation with no phone or computer. I came here on New Years Eve with my girlfriend and had a blast. The food was terrific, The server was terrific, and the ambiance was the best that I could have imagined for a town like Reno. They only offered a pre-fixe menu that night for $50 per person that included a glass of Prosecco with our dessert course and party favors. The first course was a Veggie Napleon and a Seared Scallop with Mushroom and Arugula. They both were amazing. The scallop was huge and came with plenty of mushrooms and arugula that I almost forgot that I was eating a first course. Ditto for the Napoleon as well. Both of the choices we fantastic. The Second Course was great as well. A Beetchip Salad and Tomato Bisque woth Goat Cheese and Balsamic. The Best Choices we with the Main Course tho. You had Filet Mignon, Duck or Petrale Sole. I chose the Seared Duck with orange burgandy sauce and roasted red potato. The girlfriend had Fiilet Mignon with sauce perigeaux and roasted fingerling potatoes. Now I have never been a huge duck fan but this duck was amazing. I was absolutely one of the best things that I have ever eaten. I tried the Filet and you could cut it with a spoon. The Desserts were really good as well. Panna Cotta with berries and Chocolate Torte. The best part of the night though was at the end of our meal and we got to sit in the wamth of this restaurant and watch the fire works over Virginia Street when it turned midnight. Now that we are back in Reno we will definately be eating here a lot more. read more

Highly Recommend! We had a phenomenal dinner! Came in last weekend a little late after deciding to have an impromptu date night. The manager Reego was super gracious getting us in outside on their patio even though it was last minute and slightly past their last seating. Kudos for the extra customer service, especially since we came past closing. (Hint: it says they close at 10, but that is their last seating not closure) The outdoor area was beautiful with nice lighting and extra spacing for safety. Our server, Chris, was both knowledgeable and fun. He knew his wines! He did a great job making it a fun and delicious evening. Now for the food! The crab & salmon cakes . . . . duuuuuuude! Excellent doesn't even begin to describe them. We had the special halibut which had a good authentic flavor, but was a little dry. Might suggest a little more sauce. Also had the filet with shrimp scampi and it was delicious. Finished the evening off with a marvelous creme brûlée, which was only $8. Thank You very much Reego, Chris, and the wonderful chef that cooked our food. We had an exceptional evening and meal. read more

I was very disappointed with Wild River Grille. I made reservations 2 weeks before Valentines day and showed up 5 minutes before my reservation. We were told that it would be a few minutes, and that we could "stand right over there". 25 minutes later, at least a dozen other couples, with the same reservation time as us had already been seated, and yet, we were still standing there. We were standing directly in front of the hostess and yet, she ignored us and set other people instead of us. She would walk by, stare at us, but not seat us. Finally I went to say something, and she simply said that " I thought that you had already been seated!" even though she looked me in the eyes multiples times while walking by and seating other couples. I felt humiliated and not welcome. THANK YOU WILD RIVER GRILL FOR RUINING MY VALENTINES DAY! You guys should really make sure to get a better hostess We will never return, and we will tell everyone we know to never go there. read more

While on a recent visit to Reno, we found this charming restaurant. Originally, we chose the River Wild Grille because they were advertised as having a 'dog friendly' patio. We made reservations for dinner for our anniversary, and we were very glad we did. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, and seated promptly at a nice patio table. The food was excellent, prepared very well and presented nicely. The friendly wait-staff even brought a dog cookie for each of our dogs. We never felt as if the dogs were an imposition to the staff, and felt the dogs were as welcome as we were. The food was not only prepared by skilled chefs, but the portions were very generous as well. Our server was friendly and helpful, explaining the menu and the specials. The steak was cook as ordered, the mussels tender and flavorful and the crème Brule was outstanding. We will be back the next time we are in Reno. read more

Loved this restaurant! I just got into town for my little cousins graduation and was totally surprised by how much I loved this spot. The staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we got there. Our server Chris was patient when I asked him a bunch of questions about the menu. I usually order my steaks well done but my family gave me a hard time and he assured me that if I got it cooked under and didn't like it he'd get it cooked up more. I went for medium and it was delicious! I am a changed woman! I also ordered some tequila drink off their cocktail list and it was sooooo yummy. I don't remember the name of it but I am pretty sure its the only one with tequila in the name of it. Wish we had a spot like this in San Jose. My cousin said that her and her friends go there all the time for happy hour. Wish I didn't have to go back home tomorrow or I'd be there again the next day. read more

I stopped by Wild River Grilled for a quick drink and appetizer before a show at the Pioneer Center. Despite it being a Saturday at dinner time, there was plenty of indoor seating and we were able to grab a seat at the bar. We ordered two drinks and a hummus plate. The drinks were both strong and tasty. The hummus plate was just okay in my opinion. Nothing about it made it stand out and for the price, I expected more. Our total tab was $45, which felt like a lot for what we got, but I guess that's the price of things these days! The bartenders were extremely busy, but made sure to take the time to greet and serve us. Overall, I enjoyed Wild River Grille, but nothing on the food menu stood out to me so I'm not sure I will be back for a full dinner. Highly recommend stopping by for a drink if you have time before a show at the Pioneer Center! read more

We had a reservation for a party of seven to celebrate a graduation, and I have to say, the service was absolutely outstanding! We had a couple of guests with food allergies and special dietary needs, and the restaurant was incredibly accommodating. They even had a specialized menu for those with dietary restrictions. The location by the river was lovely, and the decorations, especially the graduation balloons, added a festive touch to the evening. For appetizers, we enjoyed a delightful cheese plate that exceeded our expectations. The braised short ribs with Demi glaze were simply mouthwatering, and the rib eye steak was cooked to perfection. Even the Chicken Piccata, which was gluten-free, was incredibly delicious. I can't recommend this place enough, and I'm definitely planning to return the next time I'm in Reno. read more

This restaurant has consistently remained one of the best in Reno, and our recent visit reinforced this reputation. We've dined here multiple times, and it has never failed to impress. During this visit, I had the unique experience of being seated inside by the window, which was a pleasant change. My wife and brother enjoyed their Spicy Shrimp Pastas, while I opted for the House Meatloaf, all of which were outstanding. The service was impeccable. However, the star of the evening was undeniably their Bread Pudding. It was unparalleled, featuring a delightful blend of nutmeg, cinnamon, white chocolate chips, golden raisins, creamy rum butter, caramel, and white chocolate syrup. This dessert is an absolute must-try and was the reason we chose this restaurant for dinner. We'll definitely be back for more! read more

I am not one to review, but our experience this past week was above and beyond in amazing service and food. We were a business party with 17 guests. Upon arriving, we were ushered to a private area and once seated, we felt a bit cramped. Our server did not hesitate to bring an extra table with settings to allow us to spread out and be more comfortable. Our drinks were brought out quickly, along with 3 bottles of wine suggested by our server, and 17 glasses to accommodate each person. The food came out quickly as well, rach cooked to perfection. We're from Australia, so we were extra excited to tryWild River Grilleas aReno, institution and it didn't disappoint. The staff were very attentive and our main waiter particularly friendly. My only issue with the meal was that my dinner guest was able to enjoy a winter prix fixe special with matched wines for , which is not available for vegetarians. The vegetarian prix fixe (with matched wines) came to. I don't believe there would be that much of a difference in preparing one or the other, so I'm not sure why there should be a $40 difference. Having said that, the food was delicious and I am grateful that Wild River Grille has an extensive vegetarian menu. Superb! read more

Once a vibrant hotspot, the restaurant, unfortunately, has succumbed to the passage of time, leaving behind a dated and lackluster experience. The décor feels worn and tired, reminiscent of an era long gone. While the staff tries their best to provide attentive service, the overall atmosphere lacks the energy and excitement it once had. The menu, once innovative, now feels outdated and lacking in creativity. It's disappointing to see a once-thriving establishment fall behind the times. Perhaps a revitalization effort is needed to breathe new life into this restaurant and regain its former glory. Until then, it struggles to live up to its once-happening reputation. read more

We came in on our last trip to Reno because some friends recommended it. We were disappointed it was too windy to sit on the riverside patio, but the inside was super cute and cozy. We started with the brie and spinach dip that our server, Danny, recommended with the bottle of red we ordered. We loved it so we asked for more recommendations. She recommended the New York and the Mahi and both were awesome! After we were done eating she even gave us some ideas on things to do while we were in Reno. We LOVED Virginia City. We had dinner here on 3/16/2023. We ordered Caesar and wild salads which were both very good. Our entrees however were not. We ordered the wild mushroom raviolis and the special which was a filet mignon and lobster penne pasta. The mushroom raviolis were bland and tasteless, and required salt and pepper in order to be eaten. The special pasta had very little lobster which was tasty. The filet mignon had the texture of pot roast and wasn't good. This meal was expensive for what was served and also gave the person who ordered it serious runs during the night. The service was good. Not sure if we would go back to try other menu items. read more

Last night my husband and I dined on the patio of the Wild River Grille. We had the most satisfying experience. Our server was completely professional, yet casual and friendly at the same time. For some reason that is a combination that is hard to find. Our food was perfect. I had the meatloaf, sounds a little hokey, but it was delightfully savory. My husband had the salmon, which we were told was the 'house specialty.' It was a nice combination of sweet with just a touch of spice. My wife and I are frequent travelers to truckee and decided to head to Reno for a midday adventure and we came across the wild river grille. This place was awesome. When we walked in we were immediately greeted with smiling faces and we decided to head to the bar. We ended up just having a few apps and beers... Sometimes that's all you need!
