My husband & I along with another couple went last night hoping for something a little different. If you are looking for A+ service where the manager acts like he cares about you having a great time and enjoying the evening, then avoid Wild Salsa. We made reservations thru Open Table requesting a table because we have a gentleman in our group that's 6'7" and booths just done work well for him. When we arrived they put us in a both in the bar area. We ask Dan if we could be moved. He said, nope not unless you want to wait 20 mins. I asked if he read the request in the reservation and he proceeded to tell us we had not made notes about this without even checking the reservation. The waiter tried very hard to overcome a rocky start. The food was great and the Bloody Orange Margaritas were also enjoyable. Would have been a 5 star review had the manager even acted like he cared. Will not return. Too many other options out there that truly care about customer service. read more

I went here for a friends birthday dinner. The place has a nice atmosphere and decor but they come up short on the food. Our server was also quite helpful and nice. I got the shrimp quesadilla $11.00 which was just okay. It had a little kick to it, I am guessing their were diced jalapeños in it. The taste was not bad but the quesadilla was pretty thin and kind of small for how much it was. Their green house salsa was just alright. Stoped by here on our way to a wedding and had such an amazing lunch! The atmosphere of the restaurant was so fun and well done. Their margaritas look delicious! The chips and green salsa that you get after sitting is amazing! Very flavorful, the tacos look small but are actually pretty filling! My boyfriend got the chicken enchiladas which were amazing! All of the food was beautifully displayed and well prepared. Our waitress was also amazing, she was very friendly and constantly refilled our water. Definitely a place worth trying! We dined here Saturday, Sept. 29. The hostess was so rude going in and leaving. I suggest she either do her job with a smile on her face or get another job. When we left, she had her head down looking at her phone or iPad ?? She did not say one word as we left. I believe it's the job of the host/hostess to greet and thank the customer as they enter/leave. Smh unreal. Now onto the food. It's definitely not Mexico City style as they claim. Nothing special or different, but solid Mexican food at a good price in downtown Ft Worth. It can be hard to find affordable places to eat downtown, so we opted for Mexican. We were seated at a large table with ample room for 4 people. I ordered the Sangria to drink and unfortunately had to send it back because it was very sour, and had a glass of wine instead. We shared the shrimp taquitos to start, which were very good. I then ordered the beef and shrimp fajitas. The beef was tender and good but the shrimp seasoning wasn't too my liking. From the minute we walked in Amanda was helping us find a great place to sit and she gave us amazing chips and salsa and happy hour drinks to get started. Amanda guided us through the drink and food menu like a pro and Sunny made sure the drinks kept coming!! The food, the drinks and the service will keep us coming back!! Where else would we find two hot girls that like to talk about motorcycles, have the patience to help us and a chef and kitchen staff that rock! It needs to be mentioned more prominently and staff should be up front - this place does not want kids. We showed up around 5:50 pm Saturday afternoon/early evening with no one inside the restaurant except maybe five tables of people. We were with two small children (3 and older) and four adults. The host stand basically told us that all tables were reserved at 6 pm for people with reservations and they could not seat us. We left about 5:58 after waiting around some and no rush of people were showing up for a 6 pm reservation. If you do not want kids, just say that please. That would have been easier and possibly allowed for repeat business when we could get a babysitter. Texmex.... I don't know her! From the get go, we knew the food was gonna be delicious when we took the first bite of their chips and salsa Verde. I ordered the steak fajitas, medium rare, and as you bite into the fajita the meat cuts like butter. The meat was marinated perfectly and the sides (guac, sour cream, pico, rice, beans) came in abundance. My wife had the enichladas verde and the corn which was also wonderful. The preparation and presentation were fantastic. For desert we had the churro con helado. On top of all that Jason's service was absolutely fantastic. I recently had my first experience at Wild Salsa and it was a disappointing visit. There are a number of things to say about this Mexican City style of food. Recommending this place is NOT one of the things I would share with the Yelp community. The bartender was a wolf in sheep's clothing...LOL by convincing us she would make two margaritas that would not cost very much. The most expensive margarita on the menu is $15 yet she rang ours up at $20 each! The manager lowered it to $16 each, then said when you have silver tequila we need to expect to pay more. The bartender said they have a silver tequila on tap so it's not an up charge! Wow! The menu offers some lunch specific and dinner specific items. We were there for a Saturday evening dinner, which eliminated some options our friend was interested in ordering. The server recommended three entrees but we are vegetarian, so those were out. When he bought out my wife's entree she was curious if a side of sauce could be brought out. So instead of making a simple walk back to the kitchen the server grabs her plate and takes off with it. At least five minutes past before he returns! Now the feeling of room temperature food is in our mind. Not to mention he forgot an additional item that was requested. This place doesn't have an identity, with so many good Mexican restaurants in DFW I can't see them making it. They are stuck between fine dinning experience and value dinning. I will likely never go back, to avoid over paying for an average food experience and a poor service experience. read more

I'm torn between a 3 and a 4. I like the location, the patio is nice, and they have bean bag outside. The service is excellent and they had a good happy hour. I loved their green salsa. The decor was nice. But the food just wasn't great. We had the shrimp ceviche and it was super bland. It tasted like a green smoothie. Then we had the lamb shank tacos. The sides were nice and fresh, but again, really no flavor except a burnt taste which was not good even though it was not over cooked. We tried to order coffee but they were out. We were going to order dessert, but they only had 3 options and they didn't sound great. I might be back during happy hour, but probably not otherwise. read more

I came here for my birthday dinner and was extremely disappointed. The ambiance was great but after taking our orders the server informed us they were out of half of what we ordered. I understand it happens but we were there several hours before close. Also they didn't have the margaritas that are featured on their Instagram page which is a reason I chose to come here in the first place. The sever was livid with the owner and was confrontational with the owner and yelling in the kitchen at the cooks. The owner or manager of the restaurant came to the table and offered to cover my meal but it was awkward how he was complaining about not being able to run the restaurant as he'd like. Wife and I swung by last week. Chips and salsa were excellent, really set us up expecting great things at start of visit. Drinks came quickly and our waitress was attentive without being intrusive. My wife's carne asada was good and we would order that again. Unfortunately, my spice rubbed redfish was over cooked and dry. Menu said it came with black bean sauce, and maybe some of that was under the rice, but none on or near fish. Plus, the entire platter was ribboned with sour cream - no mention of that on menu and I detest sour cream. I moved my fish off the plate so I could eat it without fear of accidental "contamination". All in all, we liked the vibe in the bar and chips and salsa were awesome. We'll likely try again. read more

Stopped in with the yelp gone wild event. Figured we would get here early and actually eat some food. My wife and I we glad we did. First, where did this come from? We have driven this area Suzette of times and never saw it. The food was great. The service was great. The decor is really cool. My wife and I really enjoyed this. Great place for a date night or hanging with some friends, or even an upscale party, they have some really beautiful tables in the back with chandeliers. The churros we hands down the best I have ever had. Free popsicles by the door, don't miss those hidden gems. And make sure you use their parking people not the Sundance square Parker's. I typically try not to jump the gun on reviewing new restaurants because I get that there are always kinks that need to be worked out, but I also think you can tell if the place is going to be a winner or not right off the bat. Some pros are that the ambiance and location are great, I love the decor and it's nice to have something different like this for downtown. We also saw online that they have a nice happy hour menu, so we decided to stop by and try it out. When we went they didn't have any printed happy hour menus available, and the bartender wasn't sure what was on the happy hour menu, so we just pulled it up online and ordered. The drinks -sangria and margarita- and the nachos were good, but the shrimp ceviche might be one of the worst dishes we've ever had. It was room temperature ingredients that just tasted spicy. No other flavor profile. The plantain chips tasted like cardboard, terrible texture and zero flavor. The other issue was how uncomfortable our experience was. We were sitting at the bar and had to constantly listen to the bartenders and management fight right in front of us. My husband and I are honestly pretty low maintenance and so we kept trying to ignore it, but it was constant throughout our entire time we were there, and unfortunately loud enough for us to have to listen to. There are definitely some pros to this place, but you can tell when a place has good leadership and opens up their restaurant on top of their game. What a disappointment for me since this was my first meal in Fort Worth. I ordered the tropical salad to go, and added steak ($6) and shrimp ($8). The server was very friendly and nice, even packed free chips and salsa for me. But that might have been the best part of the wild salsa experience. Got back to my hotel room and was looking forward to enjoying this meal and very much to my surprise, only 3 medium size shrimp came with the salad (essentially just a bed of greens with cut up mangos), and the steak was as rubbery as you can imagine. Altamese was amazing. She was so helpful with her suggestions but above all she was a great conversationalist. I was surprised it was her 3rd day. Wild salsa got themselves a great professional. Freddy was also great at keeping an eye on us and making sure we were well taken care of. My wife and I had a great time and we truly are blown away by the food and ambiance. Food sounded good. However, service was terrible. Manager attempted to serve us free chips, but neglected to give us water. Even bar servers seemed to frazzled and unorganized.
