I've been coming to Wild Salsa since it opened a couple years ago. The food is fantastic and the drinks are great. Best happy hour in Fort Worth as far as I'm concerned. Recently, however, the service has been pretty bad. The waitstaff is fine, but we always seem to have issues getting a table. Rude hostesses, and unaccommodating management. For example, we showed up around 7 with a table of 6 and were told we wouldn't be able to even get a table before it closed unless we wanted to sit outside. We walked past several empty tables on our way outside and watched these tables remain empty for the duration of our meal. I have had this near exact same situation play out several times this year. It's disappointing because this is one of my favorite Fort Worth spots. read more

Celebrated a friend's birthday last night. We all enjoyed our food units. The Wild Salsa guacamole with the special twist of applewood smoked crisp bacon stole our hearts. The Sonoran cheese enchiladas, chicken enchiladas, fish tacos & chicken fajitas were a hit! They brought a free dessert for the birthday girl. Two issues.... waitstaff training - George was new to the restaurant but made no mention of happy hour & no entree suggestions. More often his response to questions was a meek "I don't know.". And the scent of Fabulosa. Yup... ever so often it would come on strong. Fabulosa doesn't have disinfectant properties so I'm not sure why it would be used as a cleaning agent anywhere. We spoke to the individual that appeared to be the manager on duty and he said it is used on their floors. I suggested he check the water that holds the rag that wipes down the tables. Anyway... restroom could use the scent - dining room ..not so much. All that said I'd go back. :) read more

Pass. They tried to get too creative with their food and then tried to hide their fails with cilantro. Sorry - Mexican food is about flavor and texture. Sloppy chicken stew that tastes like canned tomatoes (disguised as "chicken tinga") and this brown goop that is supposed to be chorizo and potatoes just won't cut it for me. Add to that their "salsas" lacked any spice, flavor, or creativity and it makes me wonder why I got suckered into paying $20 for lunch. Sorry guys - that was my first and last time there. read more

Wild Salsa is a wonderful addition to Forth Worth's downtown. Not only the place is gorgeous and the service is amazing. Everyone is super friendly, love the bartenders and servers, they are all experienced and they have best margaritas in town!!!! The Food is... let me just say that as a mexican myself, their sopa azteca almost brought me to tears as it reminded me of my mom's green posole, great FLAVOR the kind that only mom's love can bring in the kitchen. I enjoy coming here often, other delicious items that make me feel back in Mexico are the Barbacoa tacos!!!!!! One item that surprised me a lot was the Sonoran Enchiladas, very non traditional these are absolutely my favorite enchiladas from now on. Everything is crafted with a lot more effort and planning than many other restaurants around the metroplex. read more

My husband and I came on a Saturday night and had the best time! Our server was fabulous - very personable and around just the right amount throughout our dinner. The ambiance is very different relative to most other restaurants in FW. Oddly the chips and salsa really stood out to me - the salsa is different but delicious! We ordered margaritas - also wonderful... not to mention thy have happy hour even on Saturdays! :) For the meal we ordered beef and shrimp fajitas. They asked us how we wanted he beef cooked - to me that's unusual for a Mexican restaurant but they cooked them perfectly. The grilled shrimp was also cooked to perfection. Amazing place for a group event. We had a small group of 10-15 and utilized the outdoor patio. The location was perfect for outdoor sunshine during happy hour. The GM Bill Robinson was very friendly, accommodating and easy to worth with. Highly recommended for group events, or just coming out with the family or friends. Amazing service by Jasen! He recommended to try the best Margarita they have which was the Avocado Margarita it is amazing. My girlfriend had the wild-rita too which was also a highlight of the day. The food was unbelievably authentic Mexican cuisine. We had the sopa verde which had great flavor to it and the Fajitas which were also great! Dissatisfying experience. Over priced meh mexican food. But the worst part was the strong smell of Fabulosa Cleaning product bus girl used to clean table next to us as we tried to eat! The fumes from the cleaner were so strong I could taste it. The Over powering smell was so bad my children couldn't finish eating, neither could I. My husband and I went there for September 15th. We loved the place and even though we had to sit outside and it was 80 degrees. Music was good. We ordered a bowl of chips with three different sauces, the street style corn and the Wild Tacos. The sauces were alright, so was the corn. The tacos were pretty cold and not super tasty. Overall, we enjoyed our visit... but probably won't be going back. We can get better tacos somewhere else, cheaper too! read more

I have been to Wild Salsa twice now. We had a huge group of people for my birthday and my sisters birthday. They have really great food, fun artistic atmosphere, and prompt service. I had the chicken tinga enchiladas, the sauce is amazing. My sister had the lamb on the bone fajitas and it was so tender and juicy, probably the best lamb I've ever tried. Terrible tacos. Super dry meat that was clearly scooped up out of a container of steak, carnitas etc (ie Chipotle style) that was all prepared ages before you order. They came out in about two minutes--far too quick for anything to have touched the grill plus the meat was room temp. Margarita was nothing special. Great guac though! It actually seemed fresh/made-to-order and was a generous portion. But the tacos (one of their specialities) were so subpar I won't be returning to Wild Salsa. read more

Came here for a work dinner with 5 other people. The margaritas, queso and guacamole were good. However the Carne Asada was served cold... for a $22 Carne Asada I would expect a "hot" meal. Happen to be visiting Dallas Fort Worth for a company conference and was staying at the Renaissance downtown. Myself and a bunch of coworkers stopped by the wild salsa for a late lunch on our first day in town. We were a large party of about 12 and we're seated promptly. Our servers were awesome and made sure she went over the menu with us and made recommendations. We started off with their complimentary chips and salsa which was really good the salsa was quite spicy had nice kick to it which I loved, although some of my colleagues complained it was too spicy for them. I ended up ordering their Tanqueria tacos which came with three tacos and I was able to mix them up. I picked the beef barbacoa, Arrachera steak and the chicken Tinga and a side of rice and beans. All our food came out pretty fast and I really enjoyed all three tacos although my favorite was the beef barbacoa. The side of rice and beans was absolutely delicious, to honest it was best rice and beans I have had at any Mexican restaurant. Don't be fooled by the green color of the rice. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals with no serious complaints and service was great. read more

My husband and I tried Wild Salsa for the first time for our anniversary, and while the food was good, the service was very poor. We were shown a table and then never had anyone stop by, so we had to ask a passing waiter for water and to take our order. We then had a different wait staff member every time we received something. We had to continually ask for refills and then were not even offered dessert. Halfway through eating, my husband received a call asking if we were still coming for dinner even though we had let them know as soon as we arrived. Though we didn't have complaints about the food, the poor communication and lack of organization greatly took away from our experience. read more

I made reservations to have my graduation party at the Fairview location. Renee helped make the booking process super easy and the food was great (get the enchiladas you won't regret it)! Our waiter made sure everyones drink glass was full, and the manager came to check on us multiple times to make sure everyone was taken care of. Cornhole and swings were outside, tv playing sports, and 80s music in the background. Took a shot in the dark since I had never been here before and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Came in with a large group for a birthday party. About 30 people. The organizer of the event had contacted them weeks before explaining how many people and what the occasion was. Started with happy hour about 6. Happy hour ends at 7 They started us in the bar area. 2 waitress were working the bar area. About 15min to 7 the waitress started closing our tabs with no option for a last drink. Telling the people asking for one last drink that they could not have it. We had to close out and move to the dinning area that was prepared for the group. So I went to the bar. Thinking I would ask the bartender. The nearest bar tender was working the well. So he was a bit busy. I asked for a drink and he told me i would have to ask the other bartender as he was to busy. Ok I understand that. So I try the other bartender. Another from my group was trying to get the bartenders attention. You could see she was avoiding him. So I spoke up asking for serves. She stated we need to get drinks from our waitress. I explained the waitress had closed us out without asking if we wanted one last drink. You could see in the bartenders attitude she did not want to serve us. So I did get a bit loud because I wanted to get her attention, saying we should just take our group else where. As she turn away I she said "you should." She then asked what we wanted. We ordered she brought it back and charged us full price. We looked at our watched and it's before 7. She said it was the computers. She had not rung it up yet so how cold it be the computers. So we left the drinks. And I went to the manager. I explained what happened He tried to explaining it was just all the people and they were trying to manage the group. He looked at his watch. And it turn to 7pm as we looked. It was a digital watch. Well oblivious they are not capable of managing a group of people. He did bring us our drinks and did not charge us. I don't know what the food is like as I did not stay to eat . So the moral of this story. Is don't plan anything here with more than a few people as they are not capable of handling any volume. This is tied for my favorite Mexican Restaurant in DFW. Tucked away in downtown Fort Worth, this cozy dine-in adventure offers everything. From atmosphere, to drinks, to appetizers, and desserts, everything is top-notch. I highly recommend the Wild Queso as an appetizer. It's not your typical cheese dip from a bag, and has a unique flavor that you'll remember (and crave) for weeks. If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be for all of the servers to engage with their customers and ask questions like "Have you ever been to Wild Salsa before?" That was the one element that was missing, though service was very prompt and polite. Despite that minor suggestion, the restaurant is worth every one of those 5 stars. I have been here a number of times for lunch. The ambiance is lovely, but it is not carried through the food. If you are expecting Tex Mex, this is not it. I'm not really sure what it is. The food is bizarre and does not taste good. I get that they are trying to distinguish themselves from Tex Mex, but you still need an identity to do that. The food appears to be any eclectic grouping they can put. For example, the tortilla soup offering has hominy. Not just a few here and there, but a bunch. It was also tasteless. Came here as a suggestion from a friend one evening and when I tell you I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food is, well I was floored! The food here is amazing. Everything from the salsa to the cuisines to the drinks are fresh and well made and mixed, it's just the best foodie experience I've had in a while. Everything here is made from scratch which is A++ in my book because I love authentic cuisines and all the menu items are fresh and made on request. The salsa is to die for and that queso blanco is great. Now, as far as the cuisines go, the tacos are also delicious especially the chicken and shrimp. The quesadillas are light but still filling and tasty with the add ons and fresh fillings of tomatoes, onions, etc. However, my favorite dish was the lamb entree served with a side of tortillas and rice and beans. The lamb was moist and seasoned well and paired phenomenally with the sides. My stomach was soooooo excited. Get the lamb! You won't regret it. Also, the margaritas are on point and well made.
