The D-Lux is our go to pizza. I like how they have the box you can use as plates and also store in a smaller space which makes eating at the room / reheating it simple. We arrived Friday late afternoon and driving and unpacking we didn't feel like going out so a phone call and pick up was what fit our schedule for the evening. We ordered two different pizzas. Best lunch choice. First of all I'm in love with the cheese curds. I mean holy heaven these are seriously the best I've ever had. Also ordered the cherry walnut greens salad. This Wild Tomato location is conveniently located right outside the entrance to Peninsula State Park, so this was the perfect place to go right after a hike with the doggos. The dogs were allowed on the patio and the host was very accommodating and put us in a spot that had a little more space for the dogs to be. They had 18th Street Brewery's The Fox and the Hunted on tap - one of my favorite porters! They even had Une Année's Framboise on tap, which is another favorite brewery of mine. Though I ended up getting a sangria, because it felt like that kind of day. We started with the artichoke dip, which was fabulous. It was the right portion for 4 people because we split it evenly without feeling too full before our pizzas. For our pizzas, we ended up ordering the Fun Guy and the Veggie Pizza. The Fun Guy was amazing. I loved the wild mushroom on it. The garlic cream sauce was a great addition. The Veggie had tons of veggies on it, even artichoke! I will say, I was disappointed in the integrity of the pizza crust. It got soggy towards the middle of the pie and couldn't hold. It was difficult to eat a slice from a large pizza. Im not sure how I stumbled upon this place but if Divine Intervention is a thing, consider me officially blessed! I have a culinary degree, have eaten at some of the beat restaurants in the world, and hands down if I got to choose my last meal it would be here! I do not understand how anyone thinks this is pizza. Frozen pizza is much better. Went here on a Saturday night and the place was packed!! It was over an hour wait, but quick tip, just get your food to go or go to the bar next to it and it was only a 25 minute wait. We ended up waiting in the bar for our to go order. They had a decent selection of beers on tap with many that I hadn't seen before. This was my first Wild Tomato pizza experience! We went during the lunch hour and it was fairly busy but we were seated immediately. We chose outdoor patio seating but they have indoor too. Been to Door County many times and somehow haven't hit this place before. We were there in the off-season so it was not crowded when we went in. I am told this is not the case normally. The cauliflower sandwich was different but very good. If you don't like cauliflower, I wouldn't get it but if you do, it is a huge chunk of it with some great flavors around it.
