I've been coming here more than a few times and almost twice a week lately because I love the ambiance and fresh bagels. I came last week and service was OK but today (03/16/18 1000am), I got a little turned off by the service. The hostess was awesome but the server was not accomodating at all. It wasn't busy and he took awhile to come to my table, when he finally came up he didn't even greet/smile, just asked me if I want anything to drink other than water. I ordered hot chocolate and asked if they have nondairy options and without looking up from his paper, he said "almond or soy". Then I proceeded to order my bagels. He came back and set the plate on my table without a word or a smile and I still thanked him. I just thought that was rude and a good enough reason not to come back. I've been here a couple times for breakfast and both times have been a great experience. Last time, we had Mary as our server and she was absolutely stellar! My coffee was never empty...we never waited for anything. Wild Wheat is a little more expensive than your run-of-the-mill breakfast joint but worth every penny. I had the Eggs Florentine. It's a beautiful dish and so delicious! All the bread is baked on site and used in some form in most of their dishes. I always want to love this place and I'm always disappointed. Waited a long time for a server and then waited even longer for coffee and a latte, which was made incorrectly. My friend got the wrong omelet but the server didn't come back for about 15 minutes so by that time she just decided to eat it. When she did finally return, my friend just asked for some sliced tomatoes to put on her wrong omelet and after another 15 minutes, instead of the tomatoes they made her another whole omelet after she was already done with the first one. I've heard great things about this place so opted I give it a try. We were sat down in a corner with big tables surrounding us.. I asked our server if we could move to a window table so it doesn't feel like I'm trapped in a cubicle. Well he definitely had some attitude to go along with it. Immediately was not feeling it. Looked at the menu to find everything was so overpriced for what your getting.. they don't have hash browns! We got our water only to find there was a black speck floating right above it and looked like it wasn't cleaned at all. We walked out right after.. I'm sure this place may be good but I didn't feel welcomed here whatsoever. Overall this place has good food but I don't like the way they are taking advantage of their customers by selling some bakery items at astronomical prices. For example they have been selling bread for $6 while exactly the same type of bread costs $4.99 at another store such as Whole Foods or Central Market (pictures attached). I've been to Wild Wheat twice for lunch and enjoyed it both times. Because they are a bakery, the bread was fantastic. Service was friendly and personal. Their corned beef is superb, some of the best I have had for a long time. Salad was fresh and tasty. Two words, Tandoori Chicken! Basically, a sandwich made with Indian spiced-grilled marinated chicken. Served on a baguette with a mango Chutney and mint mayonnaise. I've owned a business on the same block as Wild Wheat for nearly twenty years, and I've seen lots of businesses come and go here in Titusville (old town of Kent) but Wild Wheat has remained a staple on the block. Wild Wheat is great for breakfast and lunch. That says a lot with many other options two blocks north at Kent Station, which is great for lunch and dinner, but not much for breakfast. Wild Wheat's new owner is charming and friendly. The restaurant thrives during breakfast on the weekends, but the wait is well worth it. Absolutely amazing place for breakfast, lunch or brunch! We arrived at 11am on Saturday, and although the place was packed, we were seated within 10 minutes. The decor is contemporary understated, but the view of the park on one side is quite nice. The restaurant sits on the corner across from major railroad tracks. In the hour we were there, two express metro trains and one fast freight barreled past. We didn't hear the metros over the conversations around us, and the freight was a not-too-distracting deep rumble. The fresh herb and Swiss cheese 3-egg omelette was incredibly delicious, the cheese so fresh, too, that it stretched like melted mozzarella. I skipped the home fries and toast, and chose a small fresh fruit bowl that was brimming with blackberries, blueberries, and the usual melons. Portion sizes are generous, so either come very hungry or expect to take leftovers home. My husband had the stollen French toast--also a generous portion, and loved it. (It made sad to have celiac--no wheat for me!). It wouldn't be worthy of the Seattle area without excellent espresso. I use a vanilla latte as a litmus test everywhere I go. Wild Wheat's espresso is neither bitter nor ashy, and balances very well with milk. And it was flavored just right--not too sweet. Prices are above average. Our tab was ~$40, including a side of ham and two cafe beverages. We were so happy overall -- no downsides here! -- that I can't wait to go back! read more

Also I've traveled quite a bit and I've never tasted a bearclaw pastry as good as the one at Wild Wheat. I just wish they'd make more per day. You have to go early to catch it. I've been coming here for a few years and noticed I have yet to review this place. First off, parking isn't too bad. This establishment uses street parking so during the weekend parking can be a hassle but if you are looking for a solid breakfast this place is worth it. The restaurant its self is nice and open, they have a lot of windows which allows a good amount of natural light. Their menu is what you expect from a breakfast joint, but what makes them different is that all their pastries are made fresh daily. A few of my favorites is the spinach feta quiche and the eggs benedict, both this taste great and are a generous portion size. I wouldn't say they have the best eggs benedict and quiche but for Kent area its very good. They also have a homemade berry jam, be sure to spread this on your toast, its delicious. Cons: The service isn't the greatest, often times they are slow and always forget to fill your water. read more

The food was pretty good, and it was cool to see a train go by just outside the window, but the service could be better. We felt like we were bothering them, like they didn't have time. Staff is constantly circling but focusing on their tasks and not the customers? My son had to work extra hard to get the attention of a server to ask for water, because they gave me and my daughter some but not him? They were moderately busy, but there wasn't a line or anything to sit down, so not sure why they were taking some time to seat us, greet us, and could never check back in with us? Delicious breakfast! Went for the first time two weeks ago with my husband and two friends. They're super busy on the weekends, just a heads up. The service was great too and food came out pretty fast considering how busy they were. I had the eggs benedict and my husband had the salmon omelet and both were amazing. Pretty big portions. I found a live bug in my food and management made me pay for the meal even after the staff saw it crawling in my food. This happened today.

I was looking forward to trying this place and taking my daughter out to breakfast as I heard the food was good. Sadly, we never got to eat. They sat us down and gave us waters, but then no one ever came to take our order. 20 minutes went by and we saw people who came in after us get their drinks and orders taken. No one acknowledged us. The Hollandaise sauce was very good and slightly sweet. The food was very well seasoned and I enjoyed every bite, with the crisp bread bringing it all together. Loved the spinach and potatoes.
