The first time I ate here I grabbed an eggplant sandwich to go. By the time I had a chance to eat it, it had grown cold and the gorgonzola sauce was a bit overpowering for the eggplant. The next time I stopped with my kids and had hotdogs and fries and ate in. Delicious! My boys were never fond of sweet potato fries, but after Wilda's, they love them! They loved eating inside the small space with lots of activity. Third time, I had the falafel. Wonderful! It was a huge portion, but I enjoyed every bite. My friend took me there the other day for lunch. We parked a couple blocks away, and were glad we did, cuz it was jam-packed when we got there! I had never been there before, but had an amazing hot dog that I couldn't even finish! It was the BBQ dog with BBQ sauce, onion rings, bacon crumbles, & cheddar cheese. Yummmy!!! I ordered a fresh-squeezed lemonade to drink - very nice! It's very small, and was packed with people on both sides of the counter, but there are tables inside and out, and everyone was very friendly, courteous and willing to help and serve us. Heard a few guys at work getting an order together from Wildas...I was told I cant get anything but the Buddha bowl, and holy Sh!!t ive never got anything else. I crave these things. Explosions of flavor with out all the salt and grease that im used to eating on lunch breaks. And the rice and beans keep you full ALL day. Even if your not into trying new things this place nails it. I keep meaning to try a few things on the menu but leave with Buddha bowl and a grin. i get the Buddha bowl all the time. I tell you it's worth the wait if you come at noon, although I tend to wait until the smaller 2 o clock rush. if you don't want meat or tofu, they'll recommend you get it with cucumbers, red onions and tomato... the best! read more

Our go-to place for lunch. We love the chicken Buddha bowl. It's the perfect combination of ingredients in one lunch. It's big enough to share too- my husband will often split one. We usually regret when we try to eat the whole thing. I can't recommend Wilda's enough! read more

So I've been there once, and I haven't been to the new location. On the recommendation of Yelp and my daughter, I had the Buddha Bowl. I was kinda disappointed. It was served in a take-out container that was narrow and high, was mostly cabbage and rice, not a lot of protein and not particularly flavorful. The plus is that it was a healthy meal, and it was a large portion. The minus is that I can't eat rice and so most of my bowl went to waste. (Not really, my daughter took it home.) I will give it another try, especially since the old location was really pretty awful. Crowded, loud and frantic. If its better, I'll update the review. read more

A great unique place for Redding. Buddha bowl is the crowd favorite and I've rarely tried anything else. The falafels are good, love their sweet potato fries, but the crowning jewel is the Buddha bowl here. Just get it. I like mine with extra sauce and extra avo. read more

Wilda's is a good food, and with their own spin on the classic buddha bowl its a Redding staple. You can't miss the onion rings either, they're amazing when paired with the house made aioli. The dogs a fantastic too, and filling. But the star of the show at Wilda's is there bowls, I like to get mine with extra sauce on the side in case it comes out a little dry. Pair that with a little sriracha and you've got a hit on your hands. If I had to choose one knock on Wilda's it's that both of their locations have limited hours. So make sure you check ahead before you get your heart set on eating here. read more

While I have never had a bad meal here, my favorite thing to eat is the falafel sandwich. It's especially good when you sub the falafels for chicken (I know that makes it a chicken sandwich, but as far as I know that's the only way you can order it). The Buddha bowls are AMAZING!!!! Always great and fast food. Cant give 5 stars because..... I got two items and had them to go. I got my large brown bag and off on my way. When i finally got to my destination, i was shocked to see just my order in a brown bag that could have help a pack of napkins let alot one. Finally tried Wilda's this afternoon. My daughter and I both had Buddha bowls with chicken...they were delicious! Our youngest two shared a grilled cheese and fries which they enjoyed. I tasted the sandwich and it was good, made on like a naan brad. My husband had the Hot Mess...said he would eat it again which means he liked it. Overall, it was really good. The guy at the counter was very friendly and suggested the grilled cheese for our girls. About $32 for all five of us to eat and my daughter and I still have leftovers of our bowls. read more

Tonight it was me showing up 3 minutes after 6pm close time and you turned me away. 3 minutes! And your doors were open and your dining room was half full. Cold nasty leftovers, it gets bad be fore-warned!!!!... it get really bad kept it "PG" but All True. Try at your own risk, maybe you gut is made from steel... I was told "after" they Use to be good. We got their Buddha bowl with chicken... brown rice, beans and chicken were all cold No flavor and more than bland, I called back to see if that's how they serve it and it's suppose to be hot!, it's Not! The beans were not cooked properly, the chicken tasted precook frozen (it's not), the brown rice was like cold leftovers. The fresh toppings were the only thing decent. HOWEVER!!! The cold leftover bland tasteless rice, beans and chicken created such a bad gassing effect shortly after eating and lasting till l/throughout the next day was horrifying and cancelled any plans we had made!! It makes me laugh now but it was a serious disaster as if something had died except worse!! Don't take your date or make public plans afterwards, we both got the gasification kill a skunk effect. It was actually quite worse than that (we ate some where else that was truly horrific, look for that post) we seriously cancelled the next days events, which included talking with their manager, it was that bad no diarrhea just very very bad gas and constipation... I/we will never eat there again!! read more

The hot dogs on fresh, delicious, homemade buns are fabulous - and BIG. Plenty of food with just a Pepsi to top it off. I definitely recommend it, but it's better if you get it To-Go. Had the Tofu Buddha Bowl and it was fantastic. Great flavored sauces, good portion of tofu and red beans, and cute way of plating it with the takeout box. We moved from Santa Barbara and this is the first restaurant I've found that feels like home. I had a Buddha bowl with both chicken and tofu. It was fresh, delicious, & over-flowing. I learned later that if you want easy access to the rice at the bottom you can get it in a bowl instead of the little takeout box. Its packed so we sat at a big community style table. Wilda's grill is absolutely delicious and I can't believe it took me so long to actually go there. When I walked in, I was very relieved to see that everything is under $10. Our party ordered quite a bit of food including, two Buddha bowls with tofu and falafel, one BBQ hot dog, a hot pastrami sandwich, the hot mess, and a side of falafel. The Buddha bowls were $7 and so delicious. I ordered mine with extra sauce and it was perfect. The falafel was delicious. The bowl was so filling and so big that I could only eat half of it. Everyone else in my party loved everything. The hot mess is also a must! Sweet potato fries, fries, onion rings, chili, cheese, jalapeños, what more could you ask for?
