Parking is at a premium, so be prepared to walk a bit if. The food is good, the people are friendly and I can tell they have a lot of regular customers. I've only been once- got the falafel. It was delicious and I would get it again. I won't try to eat it in my car again however because it was messy. ;) I look forward to returning. read more

I did a search on Yelp for "healthy lunch" as we were passing through Redding. This place came up so we decided to check it out. The Buddha bowl was definitely worth the hype - wish we weren't just passing through from Canada as I could eat that all the time! Visited Wildas on Churn Creek last night. The place was packed with standing room only. I was wondering how long it was going to take to get thru the line and get our food since we were told they only take orders til 7 and it was 6:30. I grabbed the first available table and left my daughter to order. She ordered the BBQ dog which was full of onion rings, bbq sauce and many toppings. I had the Pastrami sandwich and it had plenty of meat, grilled onions and banana peppers. We split an order of sweet potato fries which we couldn't finish. The food was delicious, served quickly and plenty of it. The service was fast and efficient and even though the place was packed it was clean!!! We left with a to go box and happen to also forget our hand bag. When we called back they had already found it and put it in a safe place for us as we were on our way back to pick it up. Definitely will be back not only for the fantastic food but the amazing customer service during such a busy time. read more

We really enjoyed the old downtown location and The Buddha Bowl!! Even though that place was crazy busy at times, it was efficient. The wait times were always appropriate for the time of day. We have tried the new Churn Creek Road location twice. Both times, the waits were excessively long for the time of day. The second time we thought that our order was lost. If we had been on any type of schedule, we would have been late. It seems like the old efficiency is gone. The food is still very good. We might return on those times when we don't have a schedule to keep. I hope that you are able to fix this efficiency problem that others have noticed as well. read more

Went in for a hot dog. Place was clean and employees friendly. The hot dog, however, disappointed. There was WAY TOO MUCH BUN - at least half the bites contained no meat, or sauerkraut either for that matter - might consider slicing the dog lengthwise. Sauce is wonderful. read more

Amazingly tasty food and a huge portion! The sauce was great and not too spicy! I was able to eat half for dinner and the remaining rice and beans in the morning for breakfast (I just added eggs!). Came here for the first time and it will be my last. Food was way overpriced (your getting a hotdog people). When I asked if I could get extra pickles they told me they didnt have any. I asked the person to please clarify that you are telling me that this is a HOT DOG place doesnt offer pickles on their hot dogs. The associate didnt seem to care, which is fair, because I'm sure its not their fault their work doesn't have them but still. It just seems a bit odd. Well I had decided that Redding was a flavor black hole until Wilda's Grill. Yummmmm I had the falafal and it was great. Just the flavor I was yearning for. She said no problem making a falafal plate for me but I'm going to have to try the budda bowel. I bet they'll do it with cabbage instead of noddles. I now have a place to go every week. I like the Big Orange as well but a girls gotta have a handful a fab places and now I have two. Redding there just can't be two???? I'm betting everything on their menu is fab. Friendly a little slow, but it's so good it must require time, well worth the wait, as you do with good food. Tiny but very comfortable and clean. read more

Wilda's Buddha Bowl is always sure to put a smile on my face. It is the perfect combination of rice, beans, cabbage, chicken and avocado with a subtle spicy kick. They are a weekly habit I enjoy. The hot dogs are also quite good. another favorite of many is the bbq hot dog. It is crazy good. The place is in a very small building, they are very busy at lunch time. It takes a little extra time to get to the counter and order. However the are always very fast at finishing your order. The other customers are quite enthusiastic. A must try place. read more

Yummy! I love Wilda's. I had heard a lot about it but was never around when they were open. Finally a friend had me meet her. Although everyone raved about the Buddha Bowl, I was nervous so I had the falafel. Yum, yum, yum. Ever since though, I have had the tofu Buddha Bowl. The tofu is cooked well with lots of spices. They have no problem modifying the Bowl to meet your dietary needs--they don't even question it. And, of course, the price is perfect! (Buddha Bowl is $6.00 and lasts me for two meals) read more

The Buddha bowl was tasty, I would have liked more sauce, it was a bit of work to dig to the bottom to get to the chicken, tofu, rice and beans which were buried under a layer of shredded cabbage. Eat in or take out, the "bowl" is a carton commonly associated with Chinese take out and its completely full of good stuff. Comes with fork/break-apart chopstick thing I've never seen before. Onion rings were hot and crunchy, very good. Staff was fast and friendly in the smallest restaurant I've ever been in. It is very cramped and at times very busy. Neighboring businesses have signs and cones warning you not to park, parking is as minimal as the seating. Overall positive experience. read more

Great food but 100% of the time I have called in my order (which you have to do if you want to get your food in under 30 minutes and not right a crowd) they have gotten it very wrong. Not only did they get it wrong but they gave me someone else's order and when I told them that wasn't my name the guy said "that's the name you said on the phone so that is your order" and then walked away. I wish I lived closer to Wilda's. I found this gem by searching for "gluten free" in the area during a business trip in Redding. While canning the reviews online I was secretly hoping they would have gluten free buns for their delicious sounding hot dogs (didn't try them, for the record) but was swayed by the reviews of the buddha bowl. I ordered the "both" version (tofu and chicken) and was met by a mountain of deliciousness. Everything about this meal was interesting - the container (a paper box/bowl), the fork that doubles as chopsticks, the crunchy-fresh cabbage with yummy sauces on top, the warm, comforting beans and rice on the bottom. The Bad Brains inspired tshirts worn by the enthusiastic food delivery team made me smile. But my favorite part was seeing the cross section of Redding locals all enjoying this place. I can't wait to get back to Redding to eat here again. That statement alone seems incredible to read out loud. read more
