Very cool pub in a quaint town. We wanted Irish food and this place did not disappoint. Erica was the best!

I currently have a problem with eating and swallowing food... so before I eat out I check out online menus to ensure that there's something available for me to eat, and Wilde Irish Pub offered several options that I knew would work: Shepard's Pie and colcannon. They did not disappoint. I was meeting a childhood friend who'd also traveled with me in Ireland, so choosing an Irish pub was a no-brainer. We both ordered the Shepard's pie which is topped with house-made colcannon (which I love). At first, I thought the serving size seemed a little on the wee side, but in addition to lunch, the leftovers provided a couple of dinners for me back at home (so no worries about serving size). My friend is not a big drinker, so was thrilled to see the extensive mocktail menu. Our booth was pretty private, which was nice because we stayed there gabbing for several hours. I suspect the noise level could be a problem when the joint is jumpin', but we were there mid-winter mid-week, so it wasn't an issue. On the long ride home (I'm about a 2-1/2 hr drive from Shelton) I was already planning an excuse to return to Shelton and Wilde Irish Pub because it was just that good. read more

Food: Absolutely amazing and unique, which is what I love about this place. Service: I have been here a dozen times and so far it has not been the greatest. The male bartender has no personality nor smile. You are not greeted once you sit down at the bar, even on their slow lunch hour it took over 20 minutes to be noticed and offer a menu. This is probably THE place to take out of town guests visiting Shelton. Tons of beer and cider selections. Craft cocktails made to order. Most of the drinks I order are call outs, which the bartenders handle admirably. The only cocktails I've ever ordered there that I didn't like were my fault for not being specific enough in my order. The food is great. It isn't your standard Irish Pub. I mean, you can still get all the classics, shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, etc. but you can also get tuna tataki, pork belly sliders, and a whole host of other delicious small plates and meals. In a small town with a dozen bars and taverns, the Wilde Irish Pub has definitely distinguished itself in many ways. For me, as a martini lover, the biggest way is by having fresh dry vermouth. Most other places in town seem to keep it on their back bar, where it never gets used, and it tastes like turpentine. But every martini I've ever ordered from the WIP has been made with fresh vermouth. The other thing I'll mention is the ambiance. I like music. But I don't really go to bars for the music. Most other places in town usually blare the same music so loud you can't hear yourself think, let alone talk to another person. They have garish red and blue lights flashing, and live bands with sound systems the blow the places out. At the fine dining bars, they are silent. You feel like you have to whisper while classical music plays softly in the background. The WIP plays music at decent levels, the lighting is bright and energizing. It is an atmosphere contrived to evoke a good time of conversation and enjoyment. They've found the sweet spot for atmosphere. That's not to say the WIP doesn't know how to party. But when they host live music, they do it outside, closing the street down, and creating a whole event. Those are some really fun, memorable times. If you're new to Shelton or just visiting, and only going to eat in one place, this is the place you should go. read more

Amazing food and dog friendly! Wonderful selection of brews but the food was on point. I am doing keto right now so I had a steak salad that was perfect! I loved every bite. I had my Pomchi with me and he appreciated the steak and even a little corn beef just for him to go. read more

We have been here a few times. The only time I've been dissatisfied was with the fish and chips. Maybe we got bad batch but the fish was old and tasteless. We will be back because other food is delicious. read more

Found this pub in Shelton WA I. Our way to B.C. they welcomed us and our pup and gave us a treat to eat! Sydney recommended the potato balls and friend chicken sandwich, and we agreed to both. Today was my husband's birthday. He had his choice of several restaurants for his birthday dinner and chose The Wild Irish Pub. We have eaten here at least 12 times and have never had a bad meal. Our favorites are the Fish-n-chips, the Irish sampler, and the 50/50 burger. We tried the pork belly and Colcannon appetizer, so, so good, like lick the plate good. They have a full service bar and an extensive beer list. Their cocktails are made to perfection, one of the best Old Fashions I've ever had. To top it off, Brianna waited on us and she is so much fun. We watched her work the room, taking such good care of her customers and staying on top of our service too. It was a perfect evening. What an awesome place Shelton needs more of these places that liven up the town with great food and great atmosphere. Had a burger and HAD to try the corn beef and cabbage at an Irish place both were fantastic. The cabbage was a little bland, but the corn beef melted in your mouth. Our waitress was named Renee, and upsold is on the soda bread, which was what did it for me. Definitely worth a couple bucks for the bread and garlic butter. All the staff was fantastic! in fact I had a great conversation with one staff about what wac he used in his mustache so that was really cool! Perfect birthday celebration hubby, Loved my Guinness Beef stew, rich flavor that filled me up. My husband got the sampler, which he also enjoyed. I too got to enjoy bites of his Irish sampler which had the best mash. Soda bread had the perfect inside softness to outside crunch ratio. read more

The food and atmosphere are good, but it's a small space so seats fill up fast. There is often live music. I enjoy the Shepard's Pie or the trio for variety , and my husband likes the Fish and Chips. Particularly the chips, he has ordered more! The service is usually good. We had one not great server, but otherwise it's been good. They were out of my husband's usual whiskey but took time to recommend others to find one he liked. read more

A surprised gem in Shelton. Sampler platter exceeded expectations and everything was delicious! Also had hot honey chicken strips. Would not call them strips, there was three breast pieces. After hearing nothing but good things about this place, finally got to try this place out. It's a cute space, comfortable, clean and trendy. Our server greeted us with a big smile and asked if we had ever been in before. When we said no, she told us about some if their specials and other things specific to them. Two of us had a friends lunch here today. I had the fish and chips with a half wedge salad and she had the steak salad. For a starter with shared a side order of sautéed prawns. The food was delicious. the service was so very good too! Making a reservation was not absolutely necessary, yet they were oh so accommodating. Who wouldn't want to go to a friendly, warm Irish Pub with great food and outstanding service? Note to our server: you were just over the top with humor, service and just a delight personality. We made a reservation 2 weeks before st pats. When we got there, they said no reservations even though i got a confirmation yesterday. and a $12 cover per person. The manager said there was nothing she could do about it and was very unprofessional. We didn't want to pay the additional money along with there high cost of food. And at 14.00 for a cocktail you have your margins as you're getting 16 pours a bottle IF you're pouring an ounce and a half.
