The staff at this location are attentive and respect patrons. Candis was our server on Saturday, March 5th, 2022. She checked on us just enough and went above and beyond just running ordered food and drinks from the kitchen and bar. For the last couple of months we have been getting takeout from Willie G's and decided to eat in restaurant today. We have been getting the fried and grilled catfish as they are delicious and as good as you will find anywhere! Everything is cooked perfectly and seasoned just right, not too much. We also had the onion rings--thick slices of sweet onion in a light batter. Thanks to Morgan for being such a great server. We will definitely be here anytime we want catfish--which will probably be a couple of times a month! Thank you so much for the $10 coupon you all sent me back in the spring for my birthday. We frequently shop in the area and noticed that the parking lot is usually full at Willies'. We assumed the food must be terrific. We ate there and were not hugely impressed. To be fair, the food was not bad, but given the business they appear to do their food wasn't as good as we had expected or hoped it would be. I would place Willies in the same category with Chilis or TGIFridays. Given a choice, I'd prefer Willies over Chilis or TGIFridays. I know that's not setting the bar very high but it's my honest assessment of how Willie's compares to its most similar competitors. read more

Love all the usual faves...chicken fried steak, buffalo chicken bites, onion rings. Love their ranch dressing and fries. But their grilled options and veggies are very good as well. We do not recommend this place. Today was our second time expecting a better experience than last time 4/30/17 our last visit, we had a problem with crawfish was so small and half of the order was bad. No refills on our drinks. Today we had same bad service, our waitress Natali did not refill our drinks. We had to get up to get our own. Appetizer plates were never removed from table. Ordered a "hand cut ribeye" to-go (literally most expensive item on their menu, $18). Told the girl taking my order very clearly medium RARE (emphasized the rare). Went to pick up food, asked her to confirm the order was for a medium RARE steak. Confirmed. I cut into the steak and sure enough its cooked medium well. The manager did get me a new one with no question, and I told her to make it just rare. Apparently that is not possible for some reason as it came out a little more on the medium side, with one outer edge rare. I'm not sure how they pulled that off. The steak was okay. The salad that came with it was minimal and plain. The place seems to only hire high school kids, and is run by people who aren't much more professional. They were very nice, but not very good at their jobs. All in all, skip this place, because Applebee's is a lot better for the same price. read more

Stopped at Willie's with a group of friends after a hike in the Sam Houston Forest. Willie's has a strange method of ordering food - you pick a beer while standing in line and someone writes your order on a check. You take the check and give it to your server who then orders the food! Very cumbersome and inefficient to say the least. I ordered a Black and Blue burger but was brought a turkey burger instead. When I told the server that was not what I ordered I had to remind her to look at my written check order! When my food finally arrived it was nothing that I expected - the burger was overcooked and dry, the bun was hard, and there was little blue cheese on the burger. Server seemed disorganized. Luckily we set in the patio away from the indoors noise. Absolutely no need for me to visit this place again! read more

Very causal environment. Great for a kids sports party or a casual burger and beer. FYI they have a sand pit for the little kids to play in. There is plenty of seating, but a lot of it is outside. Came here a couple years ago when visiting the woodlands so we decided to come back. I ordered the seafood platter grilled. The catfish and shrimp was great but the fried crawfish was horrible. My husband order the crawfish it was good. They have IBC root beer in the soda fountain so that is a plus. read more

This was the worse food...potato was not cooked throughout...cold and hard...the ice cream was put in the bag with hot food and it melted before it ever made it home...and we only live 1.5 miles from the restaurant...no queso for the nachos...glad we had some here...very disappointed...will not return to indoor dining, or pick up. I ran a marathon. I'm not saying this to brag (ok, maybe I am), but just so that you don't judge me too harshly by the amount of food I ordered. So, I ran a marathon. Later, I got hungry and this was the second closest restaurant to our hotel (and the closest was more of a bar and I wasn't really feeling that scene). You wait in line, you order. Maybe you order fried pickles, a side salad, and buffalo chicken strips and fries because in your stupor, that's what sounds the best in the world right at that moment. Then, you get your drinks and sit down, having no idea how your food is going to get to your table without an order number or beeper or whatever, but it's magic because they do. The fried pickles are an unexpectedly giant plate for the very small cost, but they are delicious. Chips, not spears. The salad is pretty epic in side for a side salad. I shared some around the table because I figured if the pickles and the salad were that big.... the food was going to be epic. And, it was. 5 giant chicken strips, not frozen cafeteria fingers, freshly breaded, with tons of spicy sauce, tons of fresh fries. My husband got the plate of fried shrimp and catfish and those were amazing as well. My dad got a giant burger that he seemed to be a fan of, and my mom got steak and salad and veggies. She said it was a little chewy, but for a 11? (I think) dollar steak meal, it was perfectly fine and everything else was great. I took half of it back to the hotel with me. Let's be real, I ate it a few hours later because I just ran a marathon, but in normal people food, this would have been two, if not three meals with what I ordered. I'm signed up for the race again next year. I'll definitely consider hosting my post race celebrations here. read more

The restaurants of the missing cooks. We ate at 4 pm when they weren't busy and honestly not sure how we waited over 30 minutes for just our starter. There were more staff members sitting down at tables than actual people in the restaurant. We ordered 2 salads, a kids burger, and a chicken salad. We ordered at 4:04 and didn't get our meal until 4:44. Our server came up and explained to us that she was making the food because all the cooks walked out of the kitchen and didn't come back in. I don't know what kind of management is running this place at this point but it is a mess. We counted 14 staff members there and 9 of them were sitting at tables eating food talking. We will not be coming back or suggesting willies for school fundraisers. read more
