We used to take our car to AmeriSmog on Lincoln, assuming it is cheaper there, but after dealing with the fascinatingly rude owner there one last time I decided to try this place. I called, I was in at the time they told me and out not much later. All very pleasant and easy. The final bill was also lower than AmeriSmog, even with Amerismogs discount coupons. I went in for a quick oil change at an affordable price. The total was about $37 for it but Marc, the owner I believe, gave me discount of $5 off so I ended up paying only $32. The time estimated for my oil change was about 30-40min but was actually all done within 20min. They check your other fluids along with the oil change. I was told my tranny fluid needs changing which would cost $200, and my brake fluid needs to be replaced which was estimated at $100. I declined both since I didn't have a budget for all that and he said "that's fine, I'm obligated to tell the customer these things. whenever you're ready we'll be glad to help you with that" and kept it in my notes on file for future reference. Didn't feel pushy or anything, just informative on what I need done soon. Very quick and very helpful customer service. I had a great first impression of this place. Thanks Marc! Speaking of overcharging. I hate to write a bad review, so this will be short, and I will be gentle. I found myself in a jam and needed to get my car serviced due to an antifreeze leak. Well, antifreeze flood is the best way to describe it. I was told my car would be completed within one day when it actually took three days total, with me calling for follow-up updates and status. After I was told my car was ready, I had to return it the following day with the exact same antifreeze leak. I was also told in detail that I had another serious issue that needed immediate attention. I will not go into that issue; however, they could fix the antifreeze leak in a few hours. The primary and only reason I landed here is due to its location. The Manager who works here is oh so friendly and every so condescending. He used fearmongering tactics on me and my situation. I came in for a quick oil change and John took good care of me. My car uses synthetic oil but I plan to trade in the car very soon so I went conventional this time to save some money (I didn't communicated this to John). John and the team looked at my past oil change and saw I used synthetic. They were going to notify me about this but I missed the call. The team assumed I was going to go with it anyways so they went ahead with the synthetic oil change vs the conventional. The price difference was $90 vs $50 and this was something I did not want. I told John that I planned to trade in the car and that's why I went with conventional this time around so he went ahead and only charged me $50 for a synthetic oil change and was REALLY nice about it! This was the slowest gas pump I've ever seen. Ten minutes for about a half tank. The gentleman staffing it was quite nice, letting us know it's frequently very slow - usually for now rhyme or reason. All in all the lower gas prices were great but wait time is the trade off for the pennies of difference. Not sure it's worth it, or that we'd use this pump again. read more

I like these guys here. They are always polite and nice. Their gas station is clean and unlike coming here. Their gas prices are a little higher than the other gas stations around though. They have a great service station as well. They have helped me out when in had problem a with my car. In general, they are pretty good. read more

Their credit card reader wasn't working on my pump, and the guy working there first accused me of being too dumb to put the card in correctly, then suggested that I didn't know my zip code, and then when I tried another card, he then told me that I must have bad credit. Oh yeah, they don't have any Choco Tacos in the snack shop area. This place fixes your car quickly. My car battery and starter broke when I didn't use my car for awhile. People act like its common knowledge to start your car once a week. Well I didn't know. Anyways my car broke down on Friday night. I called AAA. They sent it over to Willow Glen 76. They had it fixed by the morning. They even fixed other things that were wrong. My car now runs beautifully. The guy at the register at night is so cool. We had the same bike. I actually thought he stole mine. His friends were hanging out eating pizza. He had me cracking up. 1 star off b/c it was kinda expensive. Well you get what u pay for. For a battery, starter, and broken window it was $600. read more

Honest, reasonable, friendly and did I mention HONEST! I HATE getting my car worked on because I've more than once been the victim of mechanic shenanigans (unneeded repairs on a perfectly good working vehicle). I needed the 60K mi service on my 2010 Lexus hybrid. The cost at the dealership was $584 and I received a similar quote from another local shop. After researching recommendations, I chose this shop and couldn't be happier. My car was done in 1.5 hours with a final cost of $271. Not only that, they could have gotten me for an unneeded brake job (was experiencing a bit of weirdness), but the recommended 60K brake flush took care of the weirdness. After reading the yelp reviews I decided to try these guys out. Also, the mere fact that I could pick up the car after the shop had closed (gas station is open till 9) is a blessing I never thought about. Willow glen is lacking in mechanics, most of the nearby shops are not located in safe neighborhoods, anyway I never trusted gas station shops and I feel so bad because it's taken me years to discover these guys. The honesty, good nature, and the timely and detailed phone calls explains my options are what sold me. I have been coming to this 76 station for years. They are pretty nice but I think their gas prices are a little higher than others. I get Union 76 gas because there are no Toxins in the gas like other stations. That's why when you take your boat on the local lakes you have to have a receipt to show you bought the gas at Union 76. read more

Called ahead and agreed on price for smog check. Pulled up, got out of my car, and watched the only guy in the bay yak on the phone for about 5 minutes even though he clearly saw me. Finally he's off the phone, and I inquire about the agreed-upon price - guy says "sorry can't do it". I show him that I just called, he verifies with his desk employee, then comes back and says "sorry, regardless of what he said, I'm the owner and I can't do it that's too cheap". It's not often that I'm happy with an auto service joint. We had a roadside breakdown the other day and called AAA for a tow. The Willow Glen Union 76 was the closest approved AAA service location and the tow driver said he liked the place. The next morning, John, a really friendly sort, called me up and we discussed the problem. He did some checking and found it was only a dead battery (which we knew but were worried it was much more because we couldn't even jump start the car). A few hours later, we had are well running vehicle back in our hands. My only complaint is that this place isn't in Santa Clara where I live. Otherwise, I'd come here for repairs more often. read more

CROOKS!! And a busted air machine. But what really got to me, besides the ridiculous prices & general state of disrepair here, was the rudeness I encountered from several employees. The two in the front by the register couldn't bother to pause their conversation to even look at me let alone assist me, then the tech in the garage couldn't even answer a yes or no question concerning the estimate without playing games. Outside of going to your dealership for major/specialty work, I'd definitely recommend WG Union 76. Matt (owner) and his crew are great mechanics. They solved an electrical problem on my MBZ that others couldn't find much less fix. They always keep their time commitments and call when done. After 20 years, I've never had to ask them to re-fix anything. PLUS I believe they still pump gas for senior citizens! Wow! read more

Do not take your car in here for maintenance. I brought my car in 2 times for 2 different issues and these guys had no clue what was really wrong. I had a weird noise coming from the back and they said I need to replace the shocks...which could have cost me a few hundred dollars. Well, I just had the shocks replaced maybe 9 months ago so I got a 2nd opinion from the place I got the shocks from. They said that because I had my shocks problem, this caused deformity in the tire in time that caused the noise. They showed me the tire that got deformed and I saw what they were saying. They replaced the back 2 tires and wallah, no noise and a happy car! Next time I took my car in for a flat tire and gave the car to them ALL DAY because I was off work. I live so close to them I could walk to my house from there. It's unfortunate because they gave me poor advice again. They said that the tire seemed fine and pumped it up and kept the air. I explained that I filled up the air a week ago and a few days later the tire got flat again. That didn't matter to them and sent me on the way. Well, a few days later same thing...the tire was flat again. I took my car to the same place that fixed my other problem and they examined the tire more closely and saw that my inner rim was bent causing air to leak out. This Chevron did a lackluster job at fixing my car in the only 2 occasions and if I followed their recommendation, it would have cost me hundreds of dollars with further problems. Also, I could have landed a flat tire on the freeway causing a major accident or something. They are just too irresponsible and not careful enough. Maybe they just don't know tires well but I am not willing to take that risk and wouldn't recommend anyone either. read more

They were packed with cars and repairs and they still rushed my order and did a wonderful job repairing the radiator and thermostat. Before calling a tow--and possible waiting hours for it to arrive-- I took my chances and walked over to ask if there was any way they could come over and give me a jump. Somebody ruined my center console trying to steal my stereo; Matt and his techs were able to get the whole thing repaired (including fixing cut/missing wires) only a few hours after I dropped it off. It was pretty cheap too, $165 for an hour and a half of fiddly electrical work. read more

I was very pleased with this shops quick and honest service. After I agreed to pay the $55 diagnostic fee, they promptly called me and told me that after checkiing for many things that could have been wrong, including what i had feared, a broken alternater, they told me that all i needed was a new battery and connector cable. grand total of $248 all parts and labor included. I picked up my car later that day. they even took the time to point out what brand of battery they had installed, and showed me where the new cable had been placed and why it had needed replacing. im a very happy customer. read more

Bad business! I had to come here off an emergency roadside call and its supposed to be AAA Approved! These guys tried to screw me over. I get my car back after getting the roter, distributor cap, plug wires, and spark plugs changed. The guy tells me my radiator had a leak and quotes me @ 450.00, before labor! to fix it! Yikes, I then have a problem with it the next day I get it back, with water and coolant spewing profusely from under the hood. I call them out on it, feeling I've been set up, and they take offense so, I contact some friends who have fam mechanics, the new mechanic takes a look at it and says, my radiator is perfectly fine! It turned out to be my water pump, the day after I take my car to these guys. Mind you I never had an issues of this sort before! Lmao, How bout that!? Probably saved me about upwards of 600.00. Dealing with this guys maybe 1200.00. lol. Now I do give credit to getting the car stated back up, but it'd be best to know a little about cars if you're going to take your car here! Seriously! I have been by on several occasions to have things looked at that I thought might have been broken. If it's not broken, they do not sell you something that you don't need - major honesty points. Also, they have made minor repairs (replace a turn light bulb, for example) and charged me cost/no markup and did not charge for the labor. Major Karma points!
