I tried Willie B's for the first time this past Tuesday for lunch and it was incredible. I had a lunch special which was amazing and three vegetables. I chose the white meat fried chicken which was cooked to perfection and my three vegetables were fried okra, butter beans, and macaroni and cheese. Everything was perfect. I had to wait 1 hour and 10 minutes for food that tasted like it came from the freezer section at Costco. When the food arrived I realized it took so long because they think that is the proper amount of time to cook a burger to medium temperature. We also ordered an appetizer that they did not have a full serving of due to the freezer being locked, so they substituted without asking and continued to charge the full $14 for food that was not worth that amount. Only order the fried chicken at dinner if you want the leftovers from lunch. Our waitress understood how horrible of an experience this was for us and attempted to get our ticket discounted, but the manager (who appeared to be about 17 years old) refused right in front of us saying he was waiting for food all night as well. Wednesday anniversary so we decided to eat at a local place. I'm sorry I suggested it to my sweet husband. We started with the onion rings they were good. We ordered the 40oz ribeye steak for two. 2 salads and fries. Salads were alright the fries were great. The 40 oz. ribeye (I know you'll judge me but) I ordered it medium to medium well. We got it the first time center was totally raw sent back to be cooked some more. The picture is the second attempt of it. I even said they could butterfly it since it was so thick if necessary. Besides not being the temperature that we could eat there was no flavor. I don't think there was any seasoning on it at all. As rare as it was I thought well at least it should be tender but it wasn't. I guess with steakhouse in the name I thought it would be good. Sadly I was wrong. The picture is also what we left on the table. I don't know if it was a bad night to order steak or if that's their norm. It was our first and last time to go there. The macaroni and cheese was refrigerator cold, my zucchini wasn't hot, and my grilled pork chop was room temp. The very tearful server apologized profusely for what appears to be an ongoing issue with incorrect orders and cold food. The manager offered to immediately refire me a new meal. I called to discuss an issue with what I received from the restr. Incorrect order. I was told by the female manager, Moe, that she was going to call me back in regards to the issue. Never heard back from her or anyone else. Friends of mine won't go back to the restr due to how they were ignored at the door. Waited over 10 minutes to be seated, ignored by the staff. I called at 1:47pm to discuss the issue with the food I received and can't eat. No return phone call. The same couple who waited over 10 minutes to be seated just to be ignored by staff, invited me and my husband out to dinner. I suggested Willys only to be told "absolutely not" by the other couple. We ended up at Shaggys. Mine and my husband's tab was over $200, not including the $50 tip that we gave the server. The other couple was around $150. Have no clue regarding tip. That would have been $350 spent in your restr that night in a 2 hour span. I am now joining the couple in regards to not spending another dime in or with this establishment. Best of luck to y'all. What an amazing find. Went on a Monday night. Husband had the Cowboy ribeye. Delicious and cooked as ordered. I had the early bird special, blackened catfish with two sides $9.95. The looks of the place is nice. It does smell like a cigar due to being right next door to the cigar shop. The food was nothing special. Chicken was tough, the patty melt was really just a cheese burger on toast. They brought 1 entree out WAY before the other. One of us sat and watched the other ear their whole meal before the other entree were brought to table.....25 min later. Amazing food!! It was soo tasty, just melted in our mouths. We shared an order of crab stuffed mushrooms, they were huge & delicious. My husband got the veal in cream sauce and I got the gator basket, we both got the home fries with our food. We are a bite of each other's food, the veal was super super tender and juicy. The gator bites was also tender and mouthwatering! 100% satisfied. We were seated promptly & our waiter was real nice as well as the other staff. Our food even arrived in a very timely manner. Just left Willy B's. My husband and I sat there for 15 minutes. No one asked us what we wanted to drink or take our order. The waitress looked at us 2-3 times, but never came to our table. We overheard her tell someone else that the kitchen was closed. Why even sit someone so close to 8:30 if kitchen is closing? Ordered the 12oz Ribeye dinner along with the shrimp and crab dip for an appetizer. Chips were warm, dip was runny, but both had a good flavor. Ordered my steak medium, received it well done all the way through. Waitress asked me to cut and check it upon delivery. I told her then it was over cooked, she did offer to take it back, but I told her we didn't want the wait. I first tried aujus, then A1. Dry, very little flavor. Twice our waitress apologized and said she informed the cook. No visit from the manager, no visit from the cook, no discount offered. I had high hopes for this place. Not to be.
