Came back again with friends and enjoyed my omelette a lot! The loukaniko sausage was super yummy and the service was as good as ever. Still cash only with tax already accounted for!

    Busy behind the counter.

The cash register is from the 1940's..... so what! It works. If you are looking for a diner, look no further, you have found it. This place bustles with activity and the reasons for that are deliciousness! A word of caution and insight for chocolate lovers..... you can order EXTRA chocolate chips on your chocolate chip and banana pancakes (so sinfully good). Now if you like Nutella, order the Nutella French Toast. Oh my they are way above expectation. The place is a gem. Do not miss it. The atmosphere is rowdy and fun.

This establishment only accepts cash. The service and ambiance are good. I had the Wilson's special. I will say that the food isn't bad. It's just alright. Basically, nothing to write to home about. Nothing stands out. I also don't think this meal was worth $17 i.e. not a good bang for your buck.

Cash only! The diner is super cute and very clean/maintained inside. I visited at the end of the summer and they had the doors open, didn't have AC. It was a little warm but not terrible. The staff is friendly, food came out quickly and came out quickly. There is a little parking area with a few spaces next to the diner. Otherwise there is street parking.

If you want a classic diner experience, this as best as you can get. Located on Main Street in Waltham, a small trailer with lots of bar seating and a few booths. 50s themed which is cool. In all honesty, it's not the cleanest, but that's as expected. The food is decent, I liked the ham and cheese omelette. Coffee was so-so.

It's the worst service I've ever received and saying it from my experience as a waitress... we didn't know they closed at 2 in the afternoon we arrived at 1:20 pm, they didn't even let us see the menu when we sat down (it was our first time)... When the waitress approached the table 2 seconds after we sat down, she said that we could eat but that they closed at 2.... I think that instead of rushing new customers they should better close at 1:30 or inform before sitting down. Too rude and a fatal experience

Yes another diner from the king. I was informed that the booths fill up with multiple people so I sat at the counter. The owner greeted me at the door. The cook came over and reviewed the menu with me. How is that for service? I ending up getting a couple poached eggs and fruit cup. The fruit cup was delicious. It had fresh blueberries, strawberries and banana. I am trying to stay away from the carbs. No toast or hash browns for me. I was sitting at the counter when there was an ordered decaf coffee. The waitress made a cup of decaf using instant coffee. I could not believe it. So much for a fresh brewed cup of coffee. I had to knock down the rating down from 5 stars to four because of this. I would return for breakfast. I just would not order decaf.

    Homemade corn muffin. Tasty!

I visited this MA diner due to the great reviews. I am so glad I listened to yelp. Nice sized lot for the busy part of town. The staff was VERY friendly that I wished I lived closer. The retro vibe was so inviting. Food was tasty. The corn muffins were fresh. They were so good that I took one to go. I'll be back

Quick, delicious, friendly. Great ambience. Classic old school diner experience that's very hard to find today.

Great old school diner in an authentic diner railroad car. Very friendly staff. Try the grilled blueberry muffin.

If half-stars were a thing this would have gotten a 3-1/2 stars. Somewhere between okay and good…read more Seating was a breeze when we arrived for our 6pm Friday reservation, and we got a booth, always my preference. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I ordered an Old-Fashioned and my companion a glass of chardonnay, both of which came promptly and were enjoyable. After some inquiries I settled on the self-advertised fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs. My companion asked about a favorite no longer on the menu, a salad with grilled chicken, and after checking with the kitchen our server was happy to report it could be ordered. My companion asked for dressing on the side and unfortunatel the salad came out dressed. Our server was happy to return it to the kitchen and it came out after not too much time had elapsed, the way she'd ordered it. I'm always skeptical that ribs will be fall-off-the-bone but these were close. Unfortunately, they seemed a little off; I still can't decide if they were on the dry side, lacking in flavor, or both. But the meat did come off the bone easily, so there was that. They came with french fries which were good, The location is handy and there is on-site parking. The atmosphere was energetic and it must be a popular after-work place because there were several large (10+) tables occupied. Still, not sure I would go back soon when there are other comparable places in the area.

I found The Local Kitchen while searching Yelp for a restaurant in Waltham near I-95. It had a…read more3.4-star rating, but some of the reviews were positive and the location was convenient, so I decided to give it a try. We were asked whether we preferred a table or a booth, which I always appreciate, and we chose the latter. My first impression was that the open dining room was very loud. The noise was amplified by a party of about 10 people to our left and the ambient bar and TV noise to our right. Our friendly waiter arrived immediately, as did water and menus. Service started off nicely and remained good throughout our lunch. I wish I could say the same for the food. I was considering the Salmon Poke Bowl, but our waiter explained that the salmon wasn't served sushi-style, so we both ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl ($23.95). The bowls arrived in about 15 minutes, with the wasabi dressing on the side as requested, although technically the cup was placed inside the bowl. The portion was substantial and included seaweed salad, some avocado and a generous amount of grain. Unfortunately, the tuna had a noticeably fishy taste and an unappealing texture. Very disappointing. I left much of it untouched, along with quite a few of the other ingredients. When our waiter asked whether I wanted to take the remainder home, my answer was definitely no. Would I return? Probably not. I'd be more inclined to try some of the other restaurants in the area in search of better-executed cuisine.
