What a gem of a place! Took my parents here for an authentic diner experience and it was perfect! Friendly family staff, clean, fast service like you'd expect, and good quality food. Just a heads up, it's cash only and they do have an atm on sight. I'll definitely come back again with my kids who love diners as well - and bring cash. I should also mention we visited this place during the on a Tuesday morning around 11am, so I'm sure it's busier on the weekends. read more

We needed breakfast enroute to Maine, so I pulled up breakfast options in Waltham on Yelp. Positive reviews of corned beef hash in an old time style diner car? The private parking lot was just a bonus at this point. Come on in and set yourself down either at the counter or in one of their four person booths. Service was pleasant by both the lady waitress and the fellow cooking behind the counter. Sure, they weren't particularly busy, it being nearly 10:30am on a weekday, but still our special order of eggs benedict with corned beef hash $11 took only 3 min to hit the table with eggs jiggling and oozing out when sliced. Though the corned beef was the soft mashed sort and the accompanying potatoes small diced, their hash was good, and it was a satisfying dish indeed. Their bathroom is located outside to the right of the building, behind the door - grab the key by the register on the way out. It is covered though, so if it is raining, you might still be okay without an umbrella. In addition to the compliments the cook responded with when we lauded his cooking, he surprised each of us, and the party at another table, with Dum Dum lollipops! Amazing staff....great energy by the whole team chef owner (33 years) was impressive. To constantly hear patrons smiling while eating breakfast was a testimony to the success of the diner. ***This is an update, please read the previous review to put some more context to this one. You know something... after having returned to this place twice since my last review... once because I wanted to give them another go, and another because I had a sustained craving to come back... I realized that I was too hard on this place in my last review. Not that I lied about anything, but I set the bar higher than it should have been. Kind of like criticizing Hard Rock Cafe for the loud music, or Dick's Last Resort for the severs being rude (in case you didn't know, rude servers are part of the concept) Aye... the food here is not the kind of food you'd get at Mistral if it served breakfast food. This is not that kind of place... this is the kind of place you go when you want a no-frills breakfast... Not just a no-frills breakfast, but one you could make on your own, its just you really don't feel like cooking on that particular day. So... for serving exactly the kind of food they should be serving, 3 stars is too little. However, there are a couple of things that still keep this place from the perfect rating. That would be the quality of food... while they food here is supposed to be the same stuff you'd have for breakfast yourself, I sometimes find the ingredients could be of slightly higher quality. Also, I recently had the Texas crunchy caramel french toast... while this was delicious, price was reasonable, and the bacon I got on the side was thick, and great, but perhaps a little overdone. The toast was not of the greatest consistency, and I expected a little more crunchiness than I got from some sprinkled on corn flakes (yes, I think this is true). I do however, give them massive points for not making the toast overly sweet, and for great service (as always) read more

Friendly and Funny Owners From Greece! We stopped in for breakfast when we got off the plane on our way and saw this spot highly recommended on yelp... Yes, yelp is literally how I find almost all my food now! The owner and his wife were both really friendly. He was a funny guy, lots of humor. This place we stumbled upon on accident since In A Pickle was closed but boy am I glad we did!!! It's small and old fashioned on the outside but there is space for folks on the inside to have a cozy and classic kind of feel! The service is friendly and definitely funny; it's important to note it's CASH ONLY but they do have an ATM inside. I ordered Wilson's special which is filling but not overbearing and super flavorful! I left for the first time with money in my pocket as this place is not as expensive and a smile on my face! I've been to this place a few times and it was okay - your typical trolley diner with greasy food, three stars reviews, but the most recent experience was the final straw. Called in a breakfast sandwich and a cup of tea. Went to pick it up. Guess how much? Ten bucks! For a styrofoam cup with a teabag and a very disappointing sandwich which didn't even had fresh eggs - it was that overall slush that they use for all omelettes and still had a remainder of someone else's spinach in it. read more

Service is super quick and friendly. But let's get to the food cause that's what really matters.. had the Wilson Special which consisted of everything I was craving all in one combo. Pretty typical diner, I have to say one of the highlights is that the staff is overly friendly in a good way, as there isn't much of that going on all the time! I like Wilson's. The food is pretty good, but not anything to rave about, the service is fine, I really don't have any complaints. The dining car adds some fun to the atmosphere. What makes Wilson's special is the pancakes. They have a couple of different kinds, I like blueberry, but they are all fluffy and delicious. I don't eat pancakes often because they tend to make me feel like I'm dying, but I gave it a shot after unimpressive french toast the previous time. Food was good and delivered promptly. It was old world classic diner decor. You need to go outside to the side of the car to get to the bathroom. No biggie. Added to the character (besides it was a nice sunny day). I sat at a booth and was asked to go to the counter as I was a party of one (no biggie, I was brought up Catholic so we adhere to the "do unto others" doctrine). Place was small & here is why I couldn't give it 3 stars- they tossed the take out orders practicality in front on me (odd but I can go with the flow) then came the dirty plates from the booths---you got to be kidding me!! There were a lot of take out orders. The space and the so-so service probably contributed to the take outs. I almost walked out twice. read more

I love diners, and I'm glad I found this one. We drove by it a ton since living here, but never tried it till one morning. Went with my sister, and we had a good ol time. Place is owned by a Greek Family or atleast we think. The food had good portions, and yummy just like a dive diner should be. They have a loud cashier so don't sit near it, or it could get jarring. Service was likeable enough, the woman we had was sweet. No credit, just cash. Don't forget. There are ATMs next door so no worries if you forget, LIKE ME!
