They stole from me and refused to work with me to make it right after I provided proof of their wrong doing. These thieves didn't cancel my subscription years ago and have been charging my card for 3 years. Yes, I should have paid more attention to them charging me after I cancelled, but it was on an account I don't touch since everything is auto-debt. After I showed them I cancelled in April of 2023, they refused to refund the $2k they collected over the years. I've talked to their support and they constantly refuse to acknowledge the two years of theft. I understand this was during the time they went bankrupt, so I assume it was a technical issue they had. Though they refuse to correct the wrong. Save yourself the issue down the road, use a service that has a better support team and maybe not theifs. read more

Terrible customer service. Ordered for one month and then skipped the next month. Received two emails that state "you're skipping your next month" and then I still got charged for. Customer service says I can't cancel and get a refund because it is processing the order and it's too late. The order hasn't even shipped, just don't ship the box. What started out as a surprise birthday gift for my wife turned into a nightmare scenario and TERRIBLE customer service. Absolutely Awful Service and Company. They continued charging my account for 17months after my 3 month trial. Totaling more than $1,000 in used membership, I asked for less than half of the unused amount back, which they declined. Not too mention my wife and I got tired of constantly changing our orders during our trial because "this wine isn't available in your area." Completely confused I didn't understand how that was possible when we already confirmed our state can receive their deliveries. In the end I would NEVER recommend this service unless you have a bottomless bank account and prefer drinking mediocre wines. read more

Great service, good prices if you use some coupons or promotions, but as of now, I've tasted 4 of the 5 different wines I got, 2 were ok, 1 drinkable and 1 was very sweet and hard to drink. Hope the next selection is better, if not, I'll have to cancel it. read more

Pretty confusing. I got a gift card and went to try and use it, but couldn't figure out which numbers to put in. Finally just tried the Pin# and figured it out. But when I went to checkout, none of the PIN numbers were working. So gave up, then realized in my email it gave me an online activation pin. So that was pretty frustrating, and confusing as hell. Then when I went to go purchase, it forced me to sign up for a membership in order to place my gift card order. I get trying to reel customers in, but that's pretty frustrating when I'm only trying to buy one time. On the upside, customer service was great! Very prompt in responding, and cancelled my membership pretty quickly. Just wish using gift cards were more user friendly online, and that you weren't forced into getting a membership. I already vented to customer service, so I'll keep it brief 1. $60/month fixed rate. That's 2x more than i try to spend on wine a month. 2. Extremely limited selection. All the wines I wanted to try were out of stock, and never went back in stock in the 7 months of my subscription. Laughably small options, too. The Total Wine down the street had WAY more options, all of which were cheaper. 3. Delivery was hell. The ONLY benefit of this subscription is wine delivery, but if you're not home when they decide to deliver (like, you know, when you're AT WORK), you gotta go to a Fedex sponsored drop-off point and pick it up, ruining the only benefit of this, i.e. delivery. You cannot adjust delivery time on the site. 4. No option to cancel subscription, only monthly pauses. You actually have to contact customer support to CANCEL. This is such a predatory business model. This business model has so much potential. It is utterly wasted with Winc. read more

This company is a scam. Had a promotional offer with a rental car 10 months ago for few bottles at an affordable price ( they said). Did not notice I was signing up for something else ( be cautious probably written in very small characters, if written at all.. Ended up getting rid of 60 usd per month, discovered it after 10 months ( having a nice Winc credit of 600 usd) forced to buy vinegar, sorry wine only good for cooking during the week end (I am French, although not an expert I can tell you when a wine is good for cooking only) Their canceling system is also very complicated... have to follow a complicated track on the internet. I have been a Winc customer since 2022. I typically order every month or every other month a nice selection of wines. I recently had an issue with trying to place an order. Customer Service Rep Olga quickly provided help by placing my order for and alerted Winc's Tech Team, so they could resolve the issue. For my inconvenience, Olga gave me some extra credits too use on my next order which was unexpected. I look forward to receiving my wine selection this month and more in the future. read more

I attempted to order a Gift Card from this company for my sister's birthday today. Winc's website kept saying that there were issues processing my payment method. When I called, I got the Philippines. I asked for US customer support and they said they didn't have this. Meanwhile, I looked at my debit card online and Winc took out four payments of $75 (see attached screenshot) even though their system told me the payment couldn't go through so I am now out $300 from my checking account all the while I cannot get a US-based rep on the phone from this company. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed Winc. Wine delivered through the mail seemed like a bad idea, I expected bottles to arrive broken! But the packaging was always very secure! Unfortunately, I don't remember any of the specific bottles I bought, but I've liked everything I tried! I don't recall disliking anything. Everything is reasonably priced. Loved the experience!! I joined during the pandemic and continued afterwards. Wines were fun and great variety. Only drawback is if you fall in love with a wine it may not be available for purchase when you run out so it may be best to order a couple of the same If you see it again. Customer service has been stellar and no issues when trying to cancel. Wines are a little pricey but the skip option is convenient. I had to cancel because I'm pregnant and don't want to forget to skip otherwise I see myself rejoining. read more

I thought the Winc business model was very interesting, so I gave their introductory offer a try. I had found it hard to find Cabernet Sauvignon wines, which are my preferred wines. I ordered the only two they offered and went ahead and sampled their substitutions. The wines arrived quickly and very well packed. I had high hopes for the experiment. To make a long story short, one wine, (a true Cabernet from Australia, Rogue Admirals) was exceptional. Two others I literally spat out, they were so awful. The fourth wine, Sapore Locale from Puglia is drinkable - about what I would find at the grocery store. Needless to say I was not impressed. Tonight, I tried to cancel my subscription, and my only option was to pay $30 "cancellation fee" to do so. That means that the introductory offer of $27 was really the cost of a regular delivery of their sub-par wines. I paid it just to be rid of them but felt used and abused. I am 68 years old and know my wines. It appears to me that the target audience for this company is young people new to wine drinking. Perhaps they can make their idea work with young wine experimenters, but I recommend that anyone who knows what he likes stay away from this company. read more

For Mother's Day I received a gift card for Winc . I have never ordered wine on line before or joined this type of a membership so this was all new to me . I was hoping it would a fun thing to do , for the most part it was except for a little aggravation along the way .My intention was to only use the gift card as I was not interested in committing to a membership . Their prices are comparable to any liquor store , delivery is free and if you are a member it's a few dollars less per bottle . So off I went and logged into the site , made an account and proceeded to navigate the website. Mind you I am not very savvy with the computer , I get by ok . It all seemed easy enough , I selected the wines I wanted and proceeded to the check out . I put in my code for the gift card and oh boy , it would not accept it . I tried several times with no luck so I thought maybe I needed to put in my payment first, so I did . Well by doing that I now have signed up for a membership !! Ok it didn't help . I tried calling their number but I could not get through . Next I emailed them , no response . Finally I tried the Support Chat . Yeah a real person to chat with . I should have done this at the beginning it would have saved me a lot of grief ! The representative was so helpful ,polite and patient. Turns out I was putting in the wrong code , I miss took an i for an l. Ok give me a break .. senior citizen here LOL ! Once that was taken care of I asked to be removed from the membership and had no problems doing so . I received an email that my wine would be delivered shortly. The next day I was notified by FedX my Winc order would be arriving on Friday just 4 days after I placed my order ! I was thrilled and so looking forward to trying my new wines ! Sadly my ordered did not arrive , apparently the package was damaged in transit and was sent back ! I went back onto the Winc site and the Support Chat and explained what happened . They couldn't have been more courteous and professional, they said they would reship my order but one of the wines I had ordered was no longer available, so they were sending something comparable . Fine with me ! Just a few days later I received an email my new shipment was on the way and it arrived within the next 2 days ! Yeah ! Was so excited to try the wine . It was exceptionally well packed so I don't know how the first delivery even got damaged ! I ordered 3 different wines , 2 Cabernets and 1 blended ( this is the one they replace as what I ordered was no longer available). Today I tried the Chop Shop $14.99 it was bold yet mild , fruity and smooth . Excellent ! Love it ! I'm sure the others will just as good ! There are plenty of liquor stores close by me so not sure if I would do this again but you never know ! read more

I am thrilled with this membership. It seems too good to believe and it is! It is fabulous. You can skip any month you do not want to have a credit. The wine is always fantastic and usually wine that you couldn't purchase elsewhere. Prices are good, customer service is awesome. They have a live chat to resolve any issues you might have. If you refer a friend you are credited two bottles. I ordered a case two days ago and it is arriving today. I hope they continue to stay in business and that others will discover this fabulous wine membership. read more

Selection is pretty bad, they didnt have ANY of our regular wines. The biggest complaint is that they make it IMPOSSIBLE to cancel the subscription ( that i didnt know i agreed to). The ONLY way to cancel is to chat with them online. Ive tried a few times now and each time i want to cancel they stop talking to me immediately. I ended up having to tell my credit card to block them from future payments. Also they do a really good job of hiding in the fine print that you are subscribing and not just buying wine one time. Nothing about the experience led me to believe that i was agreeing to a membership, it was very well hidden. I dont suspect this company will be in business very long and they wont be missed. Got a gift card as a wedding gift - used the credit and then was forced into a membership. Didn't realize this and then was charged $49.50 and was told credits are non-refundable. Can't cancel membership unless you talk to their terrible customer service. Delivery service requires someone to be at home - neither my husband and I work at home so it apparently took them 4 tries to deliver and our mail man was not a happy human. Wine came incredible dusty - not sure how this store these wines. Wine was fine - nothing special. Overall not worth the time for the drama and poor selection read more

Solid option as a wine club, although selection feels a bit limited. Consistently good wines at a fair price. Contrary to at least one reviewer, I found their customer service to be prompt, attentive, and action-taking. Brought them an issue that was largely outside their control (failing deliveries) and customer service went beyond expectation to both address it with the delivery service and to offer credit on my next order. read more

Update: Was able to get the gift card to work! Ordered the wine and received it. Updating to three stars. I believe the issue might be when first creating an account, there's a countdown on the top of the page for 50% off the first month, and it's possible that one can't use a gift card until that discount expires? There were three of us who received gift cards for Christmas last year. All of us had issues using the gift cards. One finally gave up. Two of us sorted it out and ordered. So far only I've received the wine. So better than one star! But with lack of selection and the other issues, I'm honestly not all that impressed. read more

We recently made the decision to drink less, so I canceled my membership. I am not happy that they make you talk to a live agent to cancel. It's 2023. People have choices. I signed up hoping to explore some new wines and find bottles that I liked. All of the wine I received, though, was Winc produced. The branding looks like it's from a particular company or winery, but on the back is shows that it's a brand made just for Winc. So, if you're getting this to learn about new wines, be aware that you will only be learning about Winc wines (not anything that you can pick up at your local wine shop). The wine was FINE. Not amazing, but for the price I didn't mind it. Cancelling my membership was a FEAT. They don't let you do it yourself, and so you have to chat with a representative to cancel. My rep would go quiet for long periods of time, and I'd have to send a follow up message to get the chat back on track. I had to request a cancellation 4 times to finally get it, after being offered lots of pause options. It was clear that they were hoping I would simply give up and that they're training their customer service reps to make it as long and difficult as possible for people to cancel. read more

So many bad reviews are from people that never even received any wine. I don't get it. I believe that you have to try something before you can review it "restaurant had a crappy sign - 1 star!" I've been a member for a few years now and used to work in the wine business. They have great value for what you get. They're able to ship you what I would consider $30-40 bottles for $15-20 because they are D2C, Direct to Consumer, there's no retail markup. By rating the wines you get, they actually start to dial in what you like and do not like (I do not like Chardonnay, for example). The system works. Customer support is via text, which I think is convenient, but I could see how old people and communists might not like it. I've been in literally 40 wine clubs (and used to run one myself), and Winc is solid. read more

I liked the whole process, and the wine they sent paid attention to my requests and tastes. I had to cancel due to a surgery, and the process was very smooth and no obnoxious retention attempts. For these reasons, I will re-start my membership when I am once again able to have alcohol. read more

I have had really great experiences with Winc. I have been receiveing wine for at least a year and have shared my love of the subscription club with many friends. The shipping is prompt and the ordering process is simple. I have had a select few bottles that are no good - meaning i dislike the taste of them but that's normal when trying any new types of wine. The best in my opinion are Chop Shop and Porter and Plot Petit Syrah. I recently had a shipment and one bottle arrived without a cork -- like i could not find the cork anywhere... So obviously this made a small mess but i chatted online with a service associate and they credited me the value of the bottle straight away. So all in all - great experience so far. read more
