Don't sleep on the deli area at Winco!!! For $6 I feed 3 of us for lunch including chicken strips and potato wedges. They also sell plenty sides all for a very reasonable price especially considering the price of food now a days! The chicken strips are super good. We've even catered them and it's been a hit!

Chicken deal is always a good idea when you're in the area. Service was quick. I'd come back.

I have shopped at a couple of WinCo Foods stores in the Sacramento south area before. The stores are a big mess all the time. The shopping experience is not enjoyable! I want to pick up what I want and get out of there quickly! But this one in Folsom changed my view of WinCo Foods. They're good! I don't expect WinCo Foods will have much customer service. The main selling point of WinCo Foods is the good quality food at an excellent price. The Folsom store is keeping the low prices, good quality, plus a clean and well-maintained store. Much better than the other WinCo Foods I have shopped at in the past! The parking lot at this location is also spotless. It was pretty busy when I was there on a late Sunday afternoon. But I was still able to get a parking near the entrance.

These cotton candy things taste disgusting. Had the Dr. Pepper version. If cotton candy sounds appealing to you, seek out the real mccoy.

I've been a fan of Winco since I shopped Boise Winco years ago. Modern day Pak 'n Save, but Winco is employee-owned. I've been in this store a couple of times in recent months. It's "flipped" compared to the Orangevale location. A little challenging to find things. Today this location had excellent cilantro. I don't find the best bunches at the Orangevale location. BTW, if you like cilantro but don't eat it fast enough, get an herb keeper online or at a retail store. Cilantro lasts me 2+ weeks if I change the water every 2-3 days! Shopping Winco you'll find that they have most of what you need but not always a variety, it must keep costs low. Be sure to check out the bulk items - candy, beans, pasta, trail mix, nuts, dried fruit, and tons of seasonings and herbs. They also sell inexpensive herb jars.

Our son moved to Folsom and has been raving about Winco. We finally got to go in around 11pm on a Tuesday night. As you would expect, parking lot and store were pretty empty. We just walked around to check it out, comparing products and prices to Costco and Safeway. Wow. Great selection and great prices. Just bought some snacks for the trip. If we lived closer would probably make Winco a regular grocery stock-up place. Big + that it's open 24 hours. I like shopping when it's not crowded. - that it only takes cash or debit.

I wouldn't recommended getting meat, deli meat or produce there...I came home and my deli meet looked green and hamburger meat was all brown in the inside

In the rare occasions when I'm not able to find something I wanted, it's because it's something so obscure I wind up having to either ordering it online or making a trip to some hidden specialty store in the Bay Area to get it. I've been shopping here for a couple of years. There's another grocery store that's five minutes from my house, but I drive the 20 minutes to shop here because the overall experience is so much better. Today's trip really stood out to me because of a couple things... while I was at the deli waiting for the clerk to work on my order, at least three other employees came up to me and asked if I was being helped. I've been to other stores where I've stood at a counter for literally 5 minutes, watching employees going out of their way to not acknowledge me. That never happens here. Then I was really taken aback by how the peppers and mushrooms were displayed. The fact that whoever stocked these mushrooms took the time to turn every mushroom cap side up and arranged all the portobellos the way they are speaks to a dedication to quality work. You can tell that in this store, nobody half-asses anything, and the employees take pride in what they do.

After scanning my return code, was instructed to place my item in one of the provided plastic bags. Only my item did not fit inside of the bag. Do I just slap a label on the item without the bag? Hmm. None of the FAQ applied to my situation. ie, Item too large for Dropbox? Nope, it will fit inside of that just fine. Too many items to fit inside bag? Try separating them into individual bags. Nope. Only had one item to place in the bag. Sooo. Since it was none of the above, I pressed the get help button. Mainly to see if I was just supposed to forgo the plastic bag part. The kiosk instructed me to wait for an associate and the red light came on. No one came over to help. Had to extend the time on the kiosk 2x. Finally, a RUDE worker came over to let me know that his "preference" was for me to go to the service counter. No apologies for the long wait or lack of signage or instructions to go to the desk. There was no signage stating that employees prefer customers to come to the desk instead of waiting at the kiosk. As a first-time customer, I followed the kiosk's instructions, which told me to wait for an associate. When one finally came over, I was rudely told it was their preference that I come to the desk instead. If that's the preferred process, there should be clear signage or the kiosk should say so. I can tell you what my preference is: clear instructions for customers and courteous service. My preference is also to never return here again.

From my recent experience this hasn't changed. That's a shame. This is not my usual Raleys I shop at. But the other day I did drop in to buy some needed staples. It was about 7 pm when I was there. There was one cash register open. The line was 6 customers deep and that doesn't include customers that bailed out. They left their grocery cart and basket high and dry and walked out. Plus they don't have self checkout here. I stuck it out and another register eventually opened. When the second register opened, my mood was uplifted . Then the cashier brings it down again. He lectured the customer before me about digital coupons. The customer asked if a particular item rang up on sale. The cashier said the discount is a digital coupon that he needs to upload to his account and "that's why it's called a digital coupon". Hmmm this automatically made my nearly nonexistent eyebrows rise. That's some attitude. The shopping vibe here is dismal. No joy in Mudville. And don't get me started on their antiquated rewards program account setup. It's not an app. The password reset takes nearly five hours for it to be sent via email.

Tasting the box of food, it really wasn't that good either, not like before. I was disappointed. The BBQ pork bun selection was not much, just the steamed ones and no baked ones. I did get some roast duck since I was there. I had them cut it up and put it in two boxes. Over at the bakery, I did see these Portuguese Egg Tarts, they looked similar to the Chinese egg tarts, but more browned on top. They came in a box and I was told they just baked them today. I got one box. I'll say, this 99 Ranch location is much smaller than most of the other locations and the selection at the deli is smaller too, I guess they just don't get the foot traffic like the Bay Area or Sacramento proper.
