We got a outside table which was very nice, I enjoyed the breeze. The waitress was very nice, I actually never walked inside. I got wings which were excellent, very very good. Everyone raves about them so I thought I'd give them a try. The black bean burger stood out to me.. but it was missing something. It wasnt seasoned well. We came for a late lunch. The staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodated our larger party. We got fries, several burgers, grilled veggies, chili, a salad, Mac & cheese, and quarts of chowder to go. Everything was excellent, and everyone was happy. There is something for everyone. This place was awful! Had reservations for 6 pm on a Friday, was seated right away, drinks served fairly promptly, order taken in a timely fashion but, that was the only good thing. You can get Buffalo wings anywhere in western New York but you can only get harbor wings at Windjammers! Harbor wings are a dry rubbed wing that are not Buffalo style (fried crispy and sauced) but they are really tasty! Some people like to dip the dry rub in Ranch dressing but I like it plain. They also make a Spanish style that is probably made with Puerto Rican Adobo (a garlic salt blend). If you really want Buffalo style you won't be disappointed either but as I said you can get that anywhere from here to the Peace Bridge. Monday and Tuesdays are cheap beer nights... $1 and $2 beers! Windjammers has the BEST bar food in Rochester, for a long time now, and no one else is even remotely close. If you randomly walk in, looking around the place, you would have no idea that they are dishing out delicious grub. It's fairly small, and they have a $1 and a $2 drink cooler. The burgers are HUGE, and perfectly made to order. I tend to stick with their Bacon Blue Cheeseburger. It's not always easy to finish in just one sitting - they are seriously large. The best deal on the menu is their chicken fingers - you get 5 or 6 large pieces for about $7. I usually get them in the Wet Cajun flavor. Another hidden secret - they may have the best wings in all of Roc City. Go with either their Harbor or Smokey Mountain flavors, and you won't be disappointed. The drinks are cheap, the wings are great....but i wont go again if I can help it. It had a kennel smell. Like urine covered up by bleach. I went to the bar and it smelled like cleaded up vomit. Being from Buffalo I know what a good wing is and this place has by far the best wings consistently I have ever had. They are way bigger than Buffalo Wild Wings or any other place I have had them, but don't just stop at the wings I have been eating there for over 10 years and have never had a better meal under 10 bucks anywhere. I walked into Windjammers after one of the concerts that they have on the beach to get a brew. The $1 and $2 beer shelves are awesome, and they have more than the PBR for a buck. My friend got Molson, and I got a Heineken. People in the bar were in the 35+ club. It was difficult to get up to the bar and order a drink. Not many considerate people were willing to let you in, hogging space up with friends. The inside was pretty packed so we had to sit outside near the smoking benches. I think that the divey- feel, and the location is great for the demographic, and for a post-pier walk, but it didn't put out the vibes that I would be attracted to for future hangouts. read more

Upon walking in, I was assaulted (yes, that bad) by thousands of colored Christmas lights strung all over the ceiling. It was abrupt to the point that I actually said "whoa." On all the tables were signs that said "please see waitress or hostess for seating." I had no idea there was a hostess or a server other than the bartenders. We stood around awkwardly for 5 minutes or so before someone walked past and gave us a table. The wings took a shockingly long time to come out for a slow Thursday night and they were okay. One out of three flavors were really good and eve then it was really salty. To be expected from wings, but not what I was looking for. Servers have been good and friendly. The sweet autumn wings and their smokey mountain are a couple family favorites! There are wet and dry runs to choose from. would have given them a 5 on their wings alone, but when taking out and picking up orders bartenders have been sometimes a little rude. Order the wings! There are so many flavors and types and they're all just delicious. I believe I ordered the smoky mountain and peach. I actually had the smoky mountain two nights in a row, they were that good. Theres a large variety of flavors and the wait staff can help describe what each flavor is similar to. I also ordered clam strips which were good but again I can order most places and be satisfied. They have dollar and two dollar alcoholic drinks which I think is awesome. I had a white sangria for a dollar! It's probably something cheap but whatever I thought it was delicious.
