So so so disappointed. From KS and couldn't wait to eat at a restaurant on the beach (or on a pier, you get it). We couldn't get their menu to load but looked at the pictures. It looked great. Even saw a couple of items we specifically wanted. But when we ordered the items in the pictures of their yelp page were only half correct. The items we wanted weren't part of their menu. We ordered anyway but considered leaving. Pigeons kept landing on the tables and chairs stealing food and flying around the diners. The wait staff would chase them off with water guns and if you were in the way you got hit too. They would just circle back around and this action would repeat. Our food was not fresh. I'm sure we could get the same in Kansas. Nothing special. I had grouper my husband had shrimp. Nothing in the photos that were on their yelp page was on their menu. We settled on that. Stopped in for a vacation cocktail to take out on the beach. The bartender Tiana was super sweet and even remembered serving my friend earlier in the week! The bushwacker was refreshing and beautiful (see pic). Went back for a second one and also got lunch, the black and blue burger which was delicious. Went to windjammers on tuesday 6-13-23. Horrible experience! Was told an hour wait. After 1.5 hrs asked why other people were being seated before us when yelp said we were next in line. Guy at front had a whole lot of attitude telling us he can't control what tables come empty and they will seat us AFTER they seat these other people! Got to a table and after about 15 minutes and no one had come by for drink orders or anything we left! 2 hrs total time! Will never go back!!!!!! read more

Outstanding! Arrived close to "closing" time because my 9 year old was dying to try gator bites. The owner was there and made sure that we were seated so we could eat. She interacted with my daughter and was super friendly. Talk about top-notch customer service! Food is absolutely delicious. Daughter loved the gator bites (we did too). Location and the view from this establishment is second to none. If you are a local or vacationer Windjammers is a must! This was not our first time and will absolutely not be our last!!!! read more

5 stars for the view and nice wait staff. Beautiful views. The wait staff was super friendly and very attentive. It's bar food, nothing fancy but good fish tacos, fried baskets, burgers etc. It was with in walking distance from our condo so that was a plus. While you are waiting pay the $1 and walk the pier. Please read entire review before you make your decision Let me start out with the location. The location is in a great spot. It is right next to the pier that stretches out into the gulf. Parking is free in the area and there is plenty of it. The pier cost $1.00 per person all day long (worth it). Wait time. The wait time was a joke. My family of 4 waited about 1 1/2 hours for a table at 4:45 in the afternoon. This was on a Monday afternoon and not even a weekend. Once we were seated we continued to wait for another hour before we received our food. Once the food came out both my son and daughter's hamburgers were so burnt that I would have not even feed them to my dog. My food and my wife's food came out ok but I hated that my kids had already waited so long to eat that they had to wait even longer. I had the deep fried hot dog with chili and cheese and I have to say it was really good (I recommend). Ok now to be far I was never really mad, a little upset but I never took it out on one individual. Our waitress was very upset though that my son and daughter's burgers came out the way they did. She immediately put another order into the kitchen for new burgers. She even got her manager to come by to talk to us. She apologized and comped us for our kids meals. Also the week before my family and I ate here my friend and his wife ate here twice and only waited no more than 15 minutes each time. Would I every try it again? Yes. I always give a second chance. I went there on a luncheon with friends and was blown away at the prices. I asked if they had freshly made lemonade...I was told yes. So I asked for a half sweet tea and half lemonade...It was horrible. I couldn't even drink it it was so bad, definitely not homemade lemonade. I ended up ordering a cheeseburger that was like $16 I think...It was decent..nothing to write home about...The fries were actually really good. Service was good, no complaints there...When I got my bill with automatic gratuity of 18% added my cheeseburger and fries and nasty drink came out to just under $25. Yikes...I was definitely not impressed. Navarre really needs some better options when it comes to restaurants. My tip to management...go to Aldi's and try out their lemonade. Ate there as a family on March 27th 2021. Came to the area for spring break as this is right next to the pier. Placed was packed. We were seated quickly and told they could only offer deep fried food. Not very healthy but the food was pretty good for deep fried. Kids had chicken tenders and we had fish finger basket and shrimp basket. Food was not too greasy and tasted good. Reasonable price. Server was attentive and our drinks and food order came out quickly. Great vacation type atmosphere on the beach. We went on a Sunday for lunch and we're seated quickly but the service was really subpar. 30 minutes for our food as we watched people who came in after us and with larger parties eat and leave before our order came out. We had the shrimp basket. Comes with fries, slaw, and hush puppies. Shrimp was good and came with a house sauce we liked. Everything else was bland. Also didn't get offer any drink refills. I'm not sure if the waitress just didn't care because we didn't have some huge bill and she thought she wouldn't be tipped well or what her deal was. We live in Navarre and have often taken friends to Windjammers. We loved the atmosphere and food. We even took one of our grandsons there, at his request, 2 years ago for his 10th birthday. He had a delicious adult meal with butterflied fried shrimp, rice, and steamed broccoli. It was absolutely amazing, so when they were just here for Spring Break he asked to go again. What a disappointment! Everything offered was pretty much fried and greasy. French fries were not offered on the menu; only tater tots, and they were overcooked and also soaking with grease. My sister had a salad, which was decent. I have heard the bar area is nice, but we don't drink, so if you are actually going there for just a decent meal, there are other great places in Navarre to go. Also, the fact that you can go from the beach directly into a restaurant is still a nice feature. The staff were still kind. I am uncertain if they are under new management, have new cooks, or they were overwhelmed that day. All I can say is the menu is no longer what it used to be, and I will no longer recommend it, nor go there. read more

Grilled Tuna. My food was actually better than I expected. But my wife ordered the crab cakes expecting them to be filled more with crab than dough and sure enough they were doughy. They do have a good selection of local breweries on tap which is great. It's basically outdoor shaded seating so be prepared to sweat a little while you eat and wait for your food. Told us we had to wait for seating to let the kitchen catch up, which is understandable but we only had just the two of us, looked very confused when asked if we could sit at the bar, proceeded to go in and found there was plenty of seating available and seated ourself and instantly got help. Great bar and grill located on the beach with a great view of the ocean. They have a great beer selection that is all decently priced. You can get anything from ipa's to proters to stouts to wheats (my personal favorite for the beach). As for food they have your classic bar food that really hits the spot after a couple beers. I've tried everything on their "On-A-Bun" section of the menu, the gator bites, and the crab cakes, and it has all been very good! -The view is breathtaking! You can see the ocean from most of the dining area/bar and you also have a good view of the pier. -The atmosphere is very friendly and easy-going -The staff is all friendly and fun to talk to Neutral Comments: -The prices are alright. It's not awful considering the convenient location and gorgeous views, but some things can probably go down in price. Negatives: -The only real gripe I had with this place was that the service wasn't the best at times. The one bad experience I had, I'm sure, was due to how busy it was at the time. So we asked just for our main course. 45 minutes later, in a nearly empty place, we still hadn't been served. Several guests who were seated well after us had been served, eaten and paid their checks, while we were still waiting. We finally caught our waitresses attention, who said she saw our order being plated, and would be right back with it. 10 minutes later...nothing. So either she was lying to us, or our food was now stone cold and getting soggy. Either way we had enough, got up, found the waitress and paid for our overpriced draft beers, then left.
