Windsor Asian Bistro is one of our favorite dinner spots. The servers are always friendly. Annie did a wonderful job making sure we were aware of our food options. We ordered the veggie tempura appetizer, a Windsor Box with teriyaki salmon, and a hibachi dinner with salmon. Both meals came with miso soup and a ginger salad. The food quality is excellent and well prepared. We enjoyed the meal and would order all dishes again. We did ask for a to go box and a little bit of extra teriyaki sauce because we felt the salmon was under sauced. We were charged $1.50 for the less than a Dixie cup full of sauce. Disappointed with that policy.

Yum! We were staying at a hotel across the highway and looking for a quick, but good meal. We found a treasure! The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The owner was attentive. The prices were reasonable. My teriyaki tofu was yummy. My husband enjoyed his Singapore noodles. We'll be back next time we're in town!

Friday night, something different. New place I've been wanting to try. Immaculate restaurant. Great service and spctacular food. Portions are great and the quality and freshness exceeds. This Asian Bistro in Windsor has Chinese, Thai and Japanese cuisine using fresh and authentic ingredients. There is a Sushi bar and drink bar with comfortable, spacious seating. This place is packed tonight and there is still a light background hum of movement and preparation and enough space to feel confortable. A new place for me but will be come more common. The owner greets you with a welcoming smile and brings yiu to your seat. Ive been checked on three times to make sure I had everything. Sets the bar high

Busy on a Friday night between 7-8pm! We had to wait 15-20 min for a table. Nice atmosphere. Feels like a local place where you might run into someone you know but can also be intimate at the same time. Our server was great. She offered us a special app and we jumped on it along w edamame. Both were very good. The scorpion "bowl" for one was STRONG and I'm not complaining haha delicious. For dinner we shared some sushi rolls (TONS of options) and everything tasted fresh but a little heavy. Smelled like gas fumes by the front door; glad we were seated away from the entrance. Some of the interior could use a little love but overall a nice dining experience. This was my second time here and I would gladly return again.

The food here is excellent!! It's reasonably priced and sooo good. The service is also top notch and everyone is really friendly. I highly recommend stopping in for some lunch or dinner. Everything seemed really fresh and super tasty!

We stopped on our way from the airport to the coast. WHAT A GREAT FIND! Having grown up in Japan. I have never been so impressed with an Asian restaurant as I was with this. The Ginger Tea is the best I've bet had BY FAR!!

This is a great little spot, and part of a family of restaurants with similar menus in Granby and Simsbury. Each was is similar but different. We decided to try our normal order here that we get at Table 570 or Han. The fried dumplings were very good but the dipping sauce was a bit lacking flavor, the bbq ribs are sweeter than the other spots. The biggest difference was the chicken. The other locations serve almost a flat strip of chicken vs this one which is like a fried chicken meatball. The sesame sauce is also different and again sweet. Service was prompt and we were seated quickly. Overall this is a good little spot but I think their Simsbury location is the winner

The menu here has something for everyone and is very good. The ambiance is quiet, with a mix of tables, booths and bar for eating. The servers were very attentive and friendly. I had the General Taos Windsor Box, which included Miso soup, small salad, rice (brown or white), General Taos Chicken, 4 pieces of California Role. I also ordered a side of seaweed salad, which was very good. My wife had Pan Seared Ahi Tuna which she thoroughly enjoyed. See pictures.

Was searching on Yelp and found this restaurant decided to give it a try. Very quaint and beautiful place. We got a very nice server Juliana. She was very attentive and knowledgeable to our questions. The food was outstanding. We definitely will be coming back. Can't wait to try other dishes.

The owner is very friendly, the waitress is very attentive. We order the homemade dumplings which is delicious, we also order beef chow fun, sushi sashimi combo and hongkong wonton noodle soup. Overall is very good except there's a plastic piece in my sashimi I thought I broke my tooth I split it right out and found a long piece plastic.

I was in town for business and was looking for an Asian style restaurant. I happened upon this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give them a try. I came in hungry and was seated quickly and provided a menu. The server came and took my order. I order a tuna tataki app and then a sashimi platter. All delicious. The restaurant is nicely laid out and the atmosphere is relaxed. I would say this place has a Hawaiian Japanese feel to it. But that's just my opinion. Definitely recommend this spot.

This restaurant is at the same location the China Sea used to be. When I first moved to the area (late 1990s), the China Sea was an excellent Chinese restaurant with exceptional service. Over the years, however, with a change in ownership, it went downhill. Very happy that the location now houses the Windsor Asian Bistro. The restaurant's decor is modern, beautiful and inviting. Had lunch there on a Friday with colleagues, and then went back again today (Saturday) just to make sure that my first impression wasn't a fluke. The food is very tasty, lunch portions are ample, and the service is very friendly (if not over solicitous). Being of Asian descent, I am incredibly happy (and yes, even proud) that there is a nice Asian restaurant in Windsor again where I can take friends, family and work mates. Will return for dinner service soon, and call for takeout as well -- and will update this review accordingly. So far though, Windsor Asian Bistro is a solid four stars, based on my two lunch visits. read more

04/21/16 -- Sign on door says "Temporarily Closed due to a Fire. Will be open again ASAP." I have eaten here two or three times in 2016, and enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere is nice - not super fancy, but business-casual, if you can apply that to a restaurant. Quality was excellent, and the menu is a nice blend of sushi and Thai dishes, with some carefully selected Chinese options as well. I had various sushi rolls, including some creative house specials. All were delicious. I hope they are able to reopen soon! read more

I've been to the Asian bistro a few times now and they have yet to disappoint! I recently had the lunch special General Tso Shrimp and it was amazinggg along with a side of Wonton Soup. The customer service here is always great and the restaurant is very clean. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

This place is absolutely amazing. Visiting from LA and stopped here on the way to the airport. Our server Avery was very informative and patient to explain the menu and their specialities. We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and it was really good, but this review is coming after we were recommended to try the sushi here. Their black pepper tuna is to die for!!! It's one of the best tasting sushi I've ever had! It melts in your mouth and the Yuzu sauce goes so well with it. I will be back here when visiting family in Connecticut. DELICIOUS! read more

I was here tonight with a group of coworkers. The atmosphere is chill and beautiful. Our sushi was amazing . We each had different rolls. The godzilla was good. The volcano roll was exceptional. We had the shrimp and calamari appetizers also. BOTH Were perfectly cooked. We will definately be back. We were welcomed by the owner/manager and talked a few minutes. I have always depended on this place to have excellent food and variety of Asian cuisine and excellent service. My son likes sushi and I like chines so it's perfect. However I hesitate to give today experience five star rating. Few reasons: I placed an order for take out and asked for sushi roll and miso soup. She asked only about the size of the miso soup so I said small bc it was only for my son. For me I asked for a pint of shrimp fried rice and veg low mein. She never asked about the sizes for the sushi roll or the low mein or rice. I only specified rice being a pint. With my son having the sushi roll and soup if he wanted the rice I knew the typical pint size would be more than enough for us When I went to get hype order I did not wait long and the women was very nice except when she brought out the food in paper bags. I asked her for a plastic bag and she said oddly no she doesn't have them. It was awkward. Bc it wasn't like she said we ran out or we don't provide. Anyways I have experienced receiving plastic bags in other take out foods so not sure what her problem was. My only thing was is I am carrying out soup and driving and I don't want there to be spills etc. also awkward to carry these two paper bags too. Anyway if that weren't enough get home and the sushi roll is about half what we usually get in restaurant eating in. That pissed me off The miso soup looked a lot bigger than a small, there is still left over The shrimp fried rice too was not a typical pint size. Maybe not a quart either but too big for a pint And the low mein was a lot I like this restaurant a lot but what I hate is the type of experience where you no longer trust what your order is what they put in the paper bags. I don't want have to check ever time they got my order straight. I might not return based on this experience read more

We have been going here to eat and also getting takeout regularly ever since our friends met us here for a double date a couple years ago. Best Chinese or Japanese food we've found in Windsor. They also have other Asian cuisine such as Thai and some Indian, so it's convenient if one member of our party is hankering for sushi but the other has in mind Pad Thai, or some other non-Japanese food. I usually order the 'King of the Ocean' when we eat in, which is always good, a variety of grilled seafood and vegetables. I also get sushi from time to time, or split it as an appetiser with my wife. For take out, we usually get house fried rice, General Tso's Chicken, egg rolls, and beef and vegetables. All hot and fresh. read more

Tonight my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Windsor Asian Bistro. The space is beautifully done with sound and visuals creating an intimate dining event. This is definitely a place to return to. I am already planning... A quick mention - the presentation of the food deserved its own rating. The plate was beautiful! That applied to each course including dessert. A definite win at this establishment. read more

Consistently good experience. I've eaten here 3 times, which I know isn't a lot, however, it's spread over the course of a year. I travel in for work and stay at one of the close hotels. I've visited each trip to get sushi and have yet to be disappointed. Fantastic service, good food, and best of all it's a place I know is close to my hotel where I can get a good meal. I am writing this after one lunch experience, but I seriously doubt I will go back. I got the General Tsou's chicken with rice from the lunch menu. The chicken nuggets were completely inedible pieces of fat that made me throw away the dish after cutting 3 open. EDIT: I went back to try again. On my order I made sure to include that last time the pieces were chewy and fatty. When I showed up, the manager told me that could not have been possible because they only use chicken breast. I was taken back and responded "there is no way that I was served chicken breast." He then said it was a mistake and my specific dish used dark meat. He actually thought customers could not tell difference. The pieces were the same chewy and fatty bites from before. Not going back. read more

We're new to the area and have been trying out restaurants. Sushi is our favorite. But we were sadly disappointed by this restaurant. The rolls were bland and the fish was not fresh. The waitress needs to work on friendliness because her attitude was not kind or helpful. read more

Third week having dinner here. First 2 weeks enjoyed meal. Last night I was very ill after eating here- food was cold and took forever to come out- they had a large party that backed up kitchen, so I ate my food and did not complain. Should of sent it back something was not right - undercooked and not tasty. Be careful is my warning - I will not go back and gamble on getting a good or bad meal. read more

We were there for lunch today, service was great had hot & sour soup plus 2 appetizers then our luncheon meal. The owner came by each table to check on how the food was & did we need anything. It is one of the better restaurants that we've been to, food tasted fresh, and did not feel greasy and leave your stomach in knots after. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

WOW! One of our FAVORITE sushi spots. Went here with my buddy Darryl that introduced me to it. Its rare to find a place that has good everything and this place nailed it. Appetizers, (we always go with the steamed dumplings) sushi, and regular food is off the charts. Definitely recommend the WAB even if it is a little bit of a drive for you. Its worth it. read more

This place was surprisingly amazing. It's in a very unassuming strip mall and has a modern decor that made me question if any real Japanese were involved in its development. However once the food came out I knew it was legit. Thick cuts of super fresh fish with amazing presentation. Even the tempura was awesome. 5 stars for sure would absolutely come back. read more

Went here for the first time for my birthday with my grandmother and boyfriend. The interior is absolutely gorgeous. The manager is very welcoming and got us seated right away. Our server Avery (I think was her name) is so polite, professional, and informative. Food is absolutely delicious and very appealing to the eye. Our drinks were beautifully presented. Pretty decent place to get food. The interior is super nice and cozy. It's a fairly small place but it feels very accommodating. The menu combines Jalanese, Chinese, Korean, and Thai which normally makes me skeptical. I had some sushi and a Thai dish and was pleasantly surprised. Great ambiance, decent food, and decent prices. Will definitely go back for their lunch box special. read more

Delicious food and friendly service. Fellow dinners a bit pretentious and "Real Housewives'esque" So if you're looking to be seen, this seems like the place to be. I'm a jeans and tee shirt guy and despite this I enjoyed the food and the service was great. read more

Had an awesome experience here tonight. Made a reservation with my boyfriend and we were seated early and immediately serviced by our waiter. The owner came by to check how we were doing too. The ambiance was refreshing and it was busy, but easy to talk to the people you are with. The restaurant was immaculate and the food was amazing and plated so beautifully. Talked to some locals who come every week for the lychee martinis! A great place for a date or a dinner with friends. Will definitely be going back! read more

Dumplings were extra doughy with little meat. The only edible items were the chicken wings, they had some flavor. No one finished their plates and we threw out all the leftovers. Sorry to have to leave this review however it was that bad.

You can eat in. The ambiance is not romantic or cozy. What it lacks in ambiance it truly makes up for it in the taste, quality and portion sizes. The menu has something for most. The House Noodles (no shrimp please) are my go-to! They were my late husband's fave (with shrimp) and you do get a very nice portion. As with everything I have ever ordered, and I've lived in Windsor 23 years, things are cooked to your request, they are thorough, and best of all I have never had to wait forever to pick up my order. They have expanded their menu! They participate with popular delivery services. I choose to pick up as I have the time to and do not like others handling my order. Sidewalks were torn up but the place is hard to find with lack of signage. We were able to get seated right away, and looked through their digital menu. We got a smattering of dishes, wontons and dumplings, a sandwich and a ramen. Food came out in a reasonable wait time. We took pics and dug in. The 7 flavor dumpling was the star of the show. Light and thin dumpling wrapper, savory sweet sauce, plenty of filling. The pork dumplings were good, but the wrapper was thicker and denser. The twice cooked pork sandwich was pretty tasty, the pork needed to be more present compared to the veggies, but appreciated the crisp of the bread. The ramen had a good amount of braised beef and noodles. The broth needed a little doctoring to coax out some of the more savory notes. Broth needed more aggressive seasoning though. The price was not too bad for the area. It's kind of like dim sum, where you get a small plate for the price but it's all shareable and the flavors are good. It's not very well lit, gave the place a very dark air about it. But as a restaurant, it's pretty good. It's close to a sporting complex, in the same plaza as a larger brewery. Not the easiest to spot, will need the gps to assist. The inside is sparse in decoration but the staff was very friendly. We got the spring rolls, the fried wonton, a pho and a bahn mi. Food came out quick, we took pics then dug in. The wontons had a good pork and scallion filling. They didn't need sauce to taste good, which is a good sign. The spring rolls were okay, crispy but oily and the dipping sauce was weak. The pho was good, meat was tender, noodles were okay, and soup base was chicken broth with spices. The bahn mi was pretty good as well. Pickled veggies were very sweet, the ham was tender enough and the mayo butter was heavy handed. The bread was crusty but soft, not what I consider to be proper bahn mi bread, but good enough. Had dinner with a friend last Friday at Windsor Asian Bistro.....loved it!!! I was greeted at the door by the owners. We asked to sit at the bar, they asked which bar, sushi bar or drink bar?
