While in Banning I stopped by Wings Garden Cafe due to Previous Yelp Reviews and recommendations I was not Disappointed at all. I tried the Sesame chicken which was Outstanding With a slight Twang and lots of Sesame seed lightly sprinkled on top:-). I also tried an order of Wings Special Sauté Chicken, Very Flavorful lots of chicken and very healthy. First things first....everything was on disposable paper plates. The drinks are very expensive at $5 apiece and they come in a Styrofoam cup. This is not what I'm looking for when I go into a sit down restaurant. The chicken fried steak was saturated, the breading was overcooked and some places was very hard, the french fries were store-bought, frozen french fries with gravy on them. We ordered the number #2 family dinner for 2 people which was chicken chow mein, where there was I think three pieces of miniature pieces of chicken, sweet-and-sour pork, three very small pieces, over cooked and very hard, I had to use a knife on it, fried rice was OK not a whole lot of it for two people, egg foo young, I'm not a real fan of so I can't really comment on that. The service was very good. We had different people coming up asking how everything was and commenting on how delicious it looked. Place is closed. Fabulous restaurant but no notices or information on status of restaurant. Very disappointing and makes me angry

I'm always ambivalent when we go to Chinese, Japanese or other ethnic Restaurants in little towns. Authenticity is often missing because of ingredient substitutions and excessive massaging of flavors to mold flavors to fit American taste profiles. This is especially true when there is a dearth of the ethnicity population that is represented by the cuisine. At the same time, I also understand that survival comes from giving people what they want and not necessarily forcing authenticity upon them. This is not a critique of Wing's Garden Cafe, it's just how I feel. That being said, we went to Wing's while in Banning for a Pinball Tournament. We were tired and we were hungry. The air was chilly and the winds were blowing. We were greeted upon entering and told to take any available table. There were other guests, none of them Asian. I perused the menu and she pointed out to me that the Pot Stickers were home made and the skins thin. When our server came by, I asked if they were really thin skinned and home made. She went into the kitchen and checked. No, they had recently switched to pre-made and while they were still thin skinned and quite delicious, they were no longer home made. I took her word and ordered them anyway. Pot Stickers - (4) - Best commercially mass-produced Pot Stickers that I can remember having. The skins were thin, the filling juicy. I would have liked more cabbage mixed into the filling but I would order these again. Shrimp in Lobster Sauce - (3) - Flavorful but nothing special. We liked that there was some ground pork in the dish to add texture but there was an abundance of Green Bell Peppers and Onions which were also present in our other entree. Curry Chicken - (3) - While not on the menu, I asked and they said that they would cook it for me. it was on point flavor wise but what threw me off that there appeared to be chunks of skin-on baked potato mixed in along with another large portion of Green Bell Peppers and Onions.The Chinese restaurant that I have been frequently most recently offers both Chicken Curry and Fish Curry and neither has Potato in it. Steamed Rice - (5) - Decent rice served in an odd way. Small portion in a shallow dessert bowl instead of either molded into a soup bowl or a rice serving vessel. Came back for a 2nd visit. I need to come more often. Service is fantastic. Every person here is friendly and at the top of their game. Pot stickers are amazing. Fried onion rings taste as theh should. They don't need ketchup nor any other adornment. I was recognized because of my last review. How cool is that?! read more

I had Jury Duty so I stopped in. I had already sat own and felt bad leaving, so I stayed but the prices seemed high. I ordered the Walnut shrimp which came with a small side of steamed rice. I also got a Coke. My total was $28 plus tip. The coke was $4.85, which seemed very high given it was a smaller cup. Service was great and food was very tasty but I'm one person. We went there this past Tuesday. What a joke, but the thing that wasn't a joke was the price! All food was served on paper plates. We should have left when the very nice, sweet owner brought the soup out in styrofoam cups with plastic spoons. The food was bland and flavorless. I hate to be critical of a business, but this was a categorical rip off with the total bill being $50.00. I think that business owners bring lack of business and misfortune upon themselves by not going a few extra steps to make things nice. As the Banning/Beaumont area makes efforts to gentrify, businesses such as this will not survive. I really want to support local businesses, but I can't say that I'll return to Wing's Garden Cafe unless some serious changes are made. read more

This is the BEST Chinese Restaurant in California. Two weeks ago I had their cream cheese Rangoon--yummmm and Pork egg foo young-- yummmm the BEST in the world. I'm glad to find some old school Chinese food dishes that I love. So far, I have only tried their Shrimp Egg Foo Young, And it was good. Not sure who would give this restaurant 4 stars. The only positive I could say is the place seemed fairly clean. We waited nearly a half hour for our order and there was maybe 3-4 tables tops at the time. The food was mediocre at best. The shrimp dinner ( #3 ) had two very small pieces of shrimp that tasted like from a box at the super market . At $17.00 served in a plastic to go container? I was really looking forward to a good Cantonese place. This wasn't it. The egg flower soup was okay, but not traditional. We got a chicken wing appetizer and it wasn't Chinese style at all. They were previously frozen sort of hot wings. The zucchini was previously frozen too and all breading. We got a family dinner with fried wontons, cashew chicken, and fried shrimp with plain fried rice. The fried wontons were good, but would have suited better as an appetizer. The fried shrimp were doughnut style, but the breading was too dense and not light crispy and golden brown. These were most likely previously frozen. The biggest disappointment of all was the cashew chicken. There was barely any chicken and it tasted like the whole thing was boiled. It was just diced, boiled vegetables with bland sauce on top of crunchy chow mein noodles that were of course, soggy. The rice was dry. I took it home and refried it with some egg, soy sauce, green onion and spam, spam, spam, spam. The service was fine. I'm taking my mom to Capitol Seafood next time if I have to pick her up and drive her all the way to Arcadia or Irvine. read more

Heard about this restaurant from my friend and decided to give it a try. There were four of us and we ordered for dishes. My impression was that the dishes were small and more of a fast food joint. Prices were about the same as in a top end Chinese restaurant. It cost about $72.00 for four of us for lunch. We ordered Chinese tea for four and the charge was $9.00. Most restaurants charge $1.00 to $1.50 per head for tea. To be fair this place will be somewhere I will come for their lunch special if I am craving for Chinese food. I am also writing this from an Asian taste bud who frequents many Chinese restaurants. This will not be a place where I will host my Chinese friends. Owner was very friendly and place was clean. Let me start off by saying, I love Chinese food and am very picky. I live part time in LA and travel often so I've been to many Chinese food places and surprisingly this little place in Banning stands up to the best of them. The food is very fresh and delicious! We have been ordering the Chinese pea chicken, Mongolian beef and shrimp fried rice and are never disappointed , it's all so yummy! My husband and I polish off everything in one night and never have leftovers, it's that good!
