Ehh... this place just isn't good. I gave it two chances and won't be going back. The manager is super helpful, the bartender is cool, they have a full bar, and the menu has a bunch of good ol' American junk food options... but it just isn't very good. The tenders, wings, and fries are just okay. The cheese fries are gross (nacho cheese). Ranch dressing should be a staple for a place like this, but it is also mediocre. The desserts are no better than HEB's freezer section. First we came in and were seated in an area that wasn't being served. Then when we finally, 40 minutes later, were given a server, we waited an additional lengthy time to get our drinks. Our server was over the top helpful. He was very honest with his opinions and I found it refreshing. I ordered the 5pc garlic Parmesan wings and they were DRENCHED in butter on the bottom. I ate a couple of wings that were on the top and noticed all the butter on the bottom after that. I ate a third wing and it was just soaked in butter on the bottom and really unappetizing. It literally just tasted like butter. I couldn't finish my last two wings because it was so gross. I let the waitress know I didn't like the wings at all and couldn't finish them because of the butter and she said she couldn't do anything for me. I wish they would have given me a discount or something on the wings since I couldn't finish them. Called to ask if their wings are breaded or gluten free (I have celiac disease) and the man who answered the phone said he would check for me, which was nice. He did not mute the phone and I heard him say some extremely rude things and inappropriate words I won't type here, essentially making fun of my question. The bartender was very flat (saw him animated with other guests) took my order ( salad-requested as a app, fries and wings and a beer) and brought me my beer (which was a little flat but I digress) I wait...no salad...I politely ask the bartender on the whereabouts (because I dislike my app being served with my entree..hence the request) and he tells me that when it's ready then it comes out, but that he would go and check...which he did. A few mins after that here comes the salad..and literally 3 mins after that here comes the wings and fries. Really? Fine..so I finish my small salad and start in on the wings..at first they taste like what I normally order..but about a couple in... oh. My. Gawd. What in the hell? My mouth was on fiyah..so I ask another tender if they had a xtra hot one and she replied , yes a "caliente" one. Well I can sure as hell tell ya I didn't ask for those! So obviously someone made a mistake...and my fries were overdone and lukewarm..they took those off the tab at my request. We ordered a sampler with fried pickles, fried jalapeño rings, & fried green tomatoes. It was my first time trying those & all of them were delicious! Their ranch dip is perfect too, I'm kinda picky on ranch. Kids ordered off the kids menu & I heard no complaints. I got the shrimp dish which was delicious! Their macaroni salad was bow ties which threw me off & a bit watery, but I did like the chopped green peppers & red onions in it! We have eaten here several times and we've never had an issue with the quality or taste. Today we decided to eat in with my Mom, who's in town, and I changed up what I normally order. I got the steak fingers instead of the chicken tenders and I was not a fan. That's the ONLY reason I'm giving them 4 stars. The fingers were bland, tough, and were rather difficult to eat. My Mom got the wing and rib combo and it was beautiful. My husband got a double chipotle chicken sandwich and said it was tasty! Great place to bring your family or come solo. We were driving by and they had a person in a chicken suit with a sign advertising their Wednesday special, "$6.00 burgers". We rolled down the window and chatted with the chicken and she said they were great so we decided to give them a try. For the record...DON'T LISTEN TO CHICKENS! The burgers were over cooked and the fries were cold. Our waitress took our order and we NEVER saw her again. Another guy actually came by long after we had finished eating and our drink glasses were empty and we asked for our check. We even noticed another couple at a different table walking around looking for the waitress too. They almost walked out. Not sure if we'll be back. Wasn't a very good experience at all. No. Just no. We came in Sunday night a little before 9 PM. The restaurant is still relatively crowded with several large parties. Nobody's at the host/hostess stand. Two different servers come by with a promise that they'll be right back. Neither of them come "right back." Eventually, the hostess makes her way to the front and starts walking us to a table clear in the back of the restaurant. When we get to the table, it's filthy. The booths haven't been wiped down. There's a roll of paper towels under the table along with a few wing bones and some french fries. We return to the host/hostess stand to tell them we're leaving and why we're leaving. No response. Wings N More has FAR superior wings and much more affordable. We have tried 90% of the avail sauces and they are all delicious! Wings are always crispy and NEVER soggy!! Would seriously compare their wings with Pluckers and in a blind taste test not be able to tell the difference. I have only had wings and more twice, but both times were great! I am from Dallas texas, so I rarely get to stop by. The first time I came by was back in August, and the last was yesterday for lunch around 1:10 pm. Both times I was lucky to have the same server. She is a beautiful tall blonde with glasses, I just found out she was pregnant this time around-the first time not knowing at all! I honestly do not remember her name, but as soon as I saw her I remembered her and I told the sweet hostess with glasses "I WANT HER!" That was today. She did tell me her name this morning when she greeted me, but I forgot it already. I am 68 years old and I literally had my daughter in law help me make this yelp, just so I can let the world no what great amazing service you guys have! And not to mention your food is amazing! If I lived in Austin, I would make it my effort to stop by once or twice a week! You guys are a beautiful family restaurant and have one of the best servers I have EVER had in my life time.
