Every order with this place is a new nightmare, tonight's was the last straw. We called in and started with the dumb AI operator (Ethan) and then got to the actual store because we needed some clarification. The guy who answered was short and rude with his answers, then would not give his name when asked, then he hung up. Called back to give them a 2nd chance and place an order, but he was even more rude and hangs up without a goodbye, thanks for calling, etc. They're training is either very lacking or the young guys working there just don't care. Every time we go they get the order wrong. I've eaten at different locations, but only get bad service at this one. The worst food experience I have ever had. As someone who works in food service this place is a nightmare. Not only was my order messed up. The server gave us a survey and asked us to give them five stars so we could get free food, this was before we received our food of course. I came to this location that was absolutely not busy at all. They only had one other customer in the dine area with me. I placed my order exactly at 8:40pm 09/07/2024 with an employee named Kristan. My order was 6pc boneless combo and 15pc classic combo. I waited well over 30min for my food to be prepared which is quite long for an empty store. I finally grabbed my order and took it home which is already a 30 min drive. I came to realize after I got home they forgot my 6pc combo wings. Unfortunately, I did not want to drive back to the store for the order.. so I tried to call the store to issue a refund. I knew the store wasn't even busy so I called and waited 10 min for them to answer but no one picked up... I already knew from there they weren't going to answer the phone.. so I drove back and I called again and remained on hold for through out the whole drive to the store. Once I arrived to the store i walked in.. of course no one is to be found. finally someone came from the back and I explained the issue and let them know I was trying to call and showed them I was still on hold with them. I insisted on a refund because I did not want to wait at that store any longer.. but they insisted they can make it fast all of the sudden.. so I got my missing item on the order. Once I got home I open it and the order is still wrong!!!!!! They gave me the wrong flavors. This is unacceptable service and a waste of my time and my gas. Imagine driving 30 min back to the store because your employees lack to do their job and answer the phone. For them to still get your order wrong!!!! Even after insisting to get a refund... So I made a online order and came in, while I was adding ranch to my online order since they only give you one for 15 wings. I then proceeded to watch the young kid cooking the wings literally not wash his hand stick them in a bag of raw chicken, add them to the fryer wipe his hands on this pants stick them back in the bag of RAW chicken, proceeds to add them to the fryer then touch his hair and proceed to touch the raw chicken. If I didnt actually live through this experience I wouldn't believe it. If only one word could describe this place it would be: "horrifying" -this place was a absolute disaster. In case you were wondering if all the bad reviews are true? They are. And it is very unfortunate. This Wingstop is possibly one of the worst restaurant establishments I've ever been to. From top to bottom they are doing everything wrong. 1. Dirty, unsightly cafe. There are no trash cans for customers in this location. As a result the tables sit dirty while customers wait for them to be bused by the staff. Problem is they rarely get bused. 2. Bad customer service. This is their biggest problem. The entire staff is comprised of young teenagers and adults who seem completely disinterested in attending to customers. They move at their own pace and pretty much do as they please. Some upper management would do this place a solid. 3. Subpar food. It's a crapshoot every time you come here. Sometimes the wings and fries are great. Sometimes they're terrible. They struggle with consistency big time. This problem seems to go hand in hand with the staff not putting in 100% of their efforts. In summation this wingstop is off to a very poor start. The bad reviews are piling up quickly, and as a local Poway resident it makes me upset that a new business that is typically pretty tasty continues to fall on their face time and time again. Really disappointed after waiting so long for this! Before opening day, they gave away free Wings. My husband went and noted that they had precooked all the wings, and they gave away lots of freebies. Overall, this part was cool. One star here. We went yesterday for the first time together. It seemed decently busy. After placing our order, the cashier confirmed our order would take 18 minutes, and confirmed if that would be okay. Seemed a bit long, but hey, they're new, so maybe they have lots of Postmates or something. The cashier (Daniel, I think) was very nice and attentive, and got our order correct. Another star for him. The tables are arranged interestingly. We picked the corner table by the window, and the way they had the tables shoved in, no one could've sat across from us at the same table. It was pretty cramped overall. As we waited, people finished their food and got up to leave. There isn't a trash can, so the staff has to come clean up the trays from the table. They did not have a separate person to do this, and it was left up to the cashier. With the amount of people coming through the door though, he wasn't able to clean the tables properly. Most of the time he would start, and then get interrupted to take someone's order. Mostly he removed trays and then had to run back to the register to take an order, and was not able to wipe down the tables immediately. Because of this, people end up sitting at tables that didn't get wiped down in between. He needed some help. Next to me on the floor and on the window sill was a mess. Sticky soda that somebody had spilled (that already dried hard - I initially tried to wipe it) and crumbs. The restaurant was only open 2 days (and not very big) and it looked they already skimped on cleaning. We received our food, which was nice and hot and crunchy. The flavors were lacking overall. One of the flavors my husband got was mango Habanero, and he said it was barely hot. I got the regular hot, parmesan garlic, and Hawaiian. The parmesan garlic was a dry rub, and tasted okay. Nothing impressive. I felt the same with the other sauces. The biggest issue between both of our orders, was that the wings were not really tossed. The sauce was just poured on top. The bottom of the wings were dry. Though the sign on each table literally stated how they toss their wings to perfection. The cheese fries were undercooked, soggy fries that had gas station nacho cheese sauce poured on top. The fried cajun corn was very dry. While we were eating, a woman with her baby went into the restroom, came back out, and went into the other restroom. After a second, she came back out clearly frustrated. We overheard her tell her husband there wasn't a baby changing station. Later before we left I went to the restroom and noticed there wasn't even a mirror in there either. I'm starting off this review by stating the fact: I LOOOOOVE WING STOP with my whole heart. I was excited when I found out that it was opening up in the Poway area. I read some of the reviews before coming here today and braced myself to encounter the horrendous visit/service the majority of people claimed they received. So, after having dinner here today (1/7/2020), here is my take on this location: 1) I already felt nervous walking in the door because of what people said. My boyfriend and I entered and there was nobody in line. The first thing that caught me off guard was that the cashier was wearing AirPods (or had one AirPod in her ear). I doubt that she was using it for work related services so it seemed a little unprofessional to me. 2) I order my usual small combo and after telling her the details of my order, I added my usual cheese dip on the side (yum!) I go to sit down at a table and start reading my receipt. It said, "cheese fries." Sigh, I was sure that I said "cheese dip on the side" but it's fine, everyone makes mistakes and I eventually got the dip. One thing that bothered me was that the cheese dip didn't come in the usual dip container, but it came in two tiny containers that are found by the ketchup dispenser. Was it because I paid less for the cheese dip? Because if it was, the cashier was the one that made the mistake and should have made arrangements and/or accommodations with me. 3) All of the soda in the soda machine tasted watered down or superrr diluted. Not blaming the workers, because those soda machines can have unpredictable behavior. 4) idk if it was just this location but are the fries usually superrrr salty? I know they are seasoned but for some reason I reached a point where I couldn't eat any more of it because the saltiness started to numb my tongue. 5) my bone in wings (mild) were kind of lacking flavor.. but the boneless wings were just right. 6) the workers were super nice and doing their job, which definitely made the environment comfortable. 7) empty around 7pm! Overall, the food was good despite the few setbacks I mentioned above. There definitely are some improvements that need to be made at this location. There is potential for this location to be a popular spot for one of the best wing chains ever and it would be a shame to watch it degrade because of the failure to respond to customer's criticism. read more

I read some pretty horrifying recent reviews before deciding to go in? However I decided to give this place a try. I was greeted and served by Elva. She was was very professional and pleasant. After placing my order, I asked her if she was the manager and told her what I read on Yelp. She proceeded to tell me that she just took over managing the store. I complimented the level of service she gave me and told her that I can see the difference compared to the reviews I read. As a manager, I can admit it is very challenging and you must wear may hats. I witnessed Elva wearing 3 different hats in my short time there. I could immediately tell that she was a great manager and there to make a difference. Not to mention that they are all hard workers. Without these three it's just another wing restaurant, but with them it's THE go to wing place. The positive vibes and food is a killer combo which makes it a great place to eat with friends, coworkers, etc. Theres nothing I look forward to more on a Friday night than going here. Gonna go with three stars for now. First time I went was the day after opening day. Was incredibly good, wings were good, fries were crunchy, service was fast and accurate, but when I went a second time they almost forgot my sauce until I checked the bag and caught it. Unfortunately it seems I need to open every box in the store and make sure everything is there as well because they forgot to give us the fries with one of the combos that we had paid for. It didn't make sense to go back and wait in line, so I didn't attempt to go back, but it's disappointing nonetheless. I understand growing pains are to be expected and I'm really excited to have this place in poway, but I hope these kinks get worked out soon. I'll update this with time, hopefully for the better. UPDATE 10/21/19 I received a phone call today from a manager named victor, he apologized about the incorrect order and gave me a 6 piece combo for free to make it up to me. I was really iffy on going and getting food after seeing some of the reviews on here. But I was hungry and knew at some point we needed to try it. It was really good! We did the meal for 2. It's 15 wings choice of 2 sauces, 2 dipping sauces and a side. And 2 20oz drinks. I got the BBQ and Garlic Parmesan with fires. I also ordered some cheese sauce to go with the fries. Everyone who knows me knows I love my Wingstop. Now I'm glad I don't have to drive all the way to Escondido to get fill my Original Hot and Lemon Pepper wing craving! Oh yeah and the seasoned fries! So good. They're a little salty and a little sweet. Just perfect. The Poway location is small but mighty. I've been twice so far: I've ordered once at the counter, and once online.
