This is my favorite Bbq place to eat at. Im super excited that this location is open because its closer. The Plano location is an hour away from me so I didn't go often. For now they are only open on the weekends. I got there at 1:00 pm and the line wasn't to bad (15 mins). Know what you are getting before its your turn. The menu is on display and that way you won't hold everyone up. I got the 2 meat plate $15 with greens and Mac. The greens were just ok, I wouldn't order them again. The Mac and cheese was a big hit with me and I fell in love. The ribs and brisket were superb and extremely tender. This owner knows what he is doing on that freaking BBQ grill. While looking for Black Owned BBQ places in the DFW/ surrounding area, a friend suggested Winners BBQ and said if I didn't try it I'd be missing out. I went to the Plano location and boy was I in for a treat. First off the staff is amazing. So nice and accommodating. The ribs here are great. I have been to both locations. I prefer this one as it is closer to my home. Their rub is what makes this place SOLID. Ribs are great. Brisket is pretty good. Of course it's better than any chain, it ranks high among the local joints. Not a fan of their sauce, but it isn't needed. We just finished having dinner here and I have to say we will be coming back. Service was excellent. The ambiance is quite enjoyable. Best collard greens I've had in awhile. Two BBQ sauces to choose from a thicker one which is sweet and smokey and a thinner one which brings sweet and heat with a hint of vinegar. Potato salad is good with a hint of sweetness. It was my first time here. I really wanted chicken but they had no chicken ready. So you had to choose between brisket, sausage and chopped beef. I got sausage and brisket. Nice sized "Kids" meal for like $6.50. One meat, one side and a drink. Quite filling if your in the mood for some BBQ and don't want to over order food. This is a brand new location and I have only been once on opening day. Brisket was excellent. Nice flavorful bark and a moist meaty center. whoop whoop Mac n Cheese gets it's own 5 star rating. Good thick consistency with some secret seasoning they sprinkle in. Winning @WinnersBBQ for sure. Man I also saw there Potatoes on the way back to my table. DANG !!! They are dry, nonchalant, not friendly and indifferent. No amount of training would give those ladies pleasant attitudes or warm personalities. I met the owner. I like the way he works the restaurant crowd and greets people. Having cordial workers out front would serve him better. Good customer service brings people back to your place of business. read more

This a barbecue establishment that was recommended by a co-worker. I wasn't disappointed after eating my food. I had brisket, chicken, mac n cheese, and potato salad. I judge barbecue by how well the brisket is. Brisket can be the most difficult and time consuming cut of meat to smoke. That being said my brisket was tender and had a unique smoke flavor to it. I couldn't tell what kind of wood was used. Both pieces of meat were lightly seasoned and the sauce complimented the flavor of the brisket, but was not a necessity. The mac n cheese was southernly rich and dense, which is very hard to find at restaurants. The plates can be pricey, but the portions are not small and are worth it. The owner was there working on a Saturday and I love to see owners and management in general putting in work. Very similar to a General in the trenches with his soldiers. I've been to this BBQ restaurant a few times and the first time (a couple of years ago) the meat was too salty for my taste. However, since going back recently I tried the ribs and they were very good-tender and juicy. My cousin had the 3 meat plate and loved the sausage, ribs, and especially the chicken. We both thought the baked beans were excellent. The greens were okay but a little too spicy. I love collard greens but have never had them with that type of "kick." At least they didn't need any hot sauce--if that's ones preference. LOL We both gave the Mac & cheese a thumbs down (To be fair, most restaurants seem to struggle making good. "homemade tasting" Mac & cheese.) The restaurant is comfortable and clean with sufficient space to dine in. I called in our order to go on a busy Saturday evening and it was ready promptly. I got the 3 meat plate. Chicken, brisket and ribs w/ 2 sides and a drink. And the only thing I liked was the chicken. It had a little sugar taste to it. Which was good. Brisket was on the dry side and way to over smoked for me. Ribs was just ok. I also got the potato salad which was ok but looked dry and needed a little more mayo or something to bring it to life. Not a moist coating glaze over the potato salad as a whole. It was cold. And I got the green beans which was ok. And the BBQ sauce was good. As soon as I walked through the door, I knew the food was going to be amazing. The old school jams playing in the background made it feel like a backyard bbq. Everything from the premium sweet tea to the ribs were amazing. Particularly the ribs they were so tender and seasoned just right. They sprinkle a special seasoning on top of the ribs and after every bite your taste buds dance in joy. I would definitely recommend this joint. So stop losing and head to Winners BBQ! Went again on 8/27 and got the "GOAT" 5 meat potato. To say the least it was well worth the 20 bucks as it took me just about 4 servings to finish it. The chopped brisket and chicken here is pretty good, though. The potatoes are big and tasty. The sides leave a lot to be desired, so you're paying a lot for a little, in my opinion. And I don't know if they add a salt seasoning during the cooking process or after, but it's waaaayyy too salty. We had a group of 10 and everyone agreed they went overboard with the salt. They have a different set up then their Plano location where you hand a guy your ticket and wait for him to serve your food. There was lots of "white space" in there, lol! But I figured it would be more than enough food, and it was. Everyone is right about the seasoning they put on the ribs, it's definitely different-in a good way. The brisket had a bark that would made a tree jealous, lol! I think it was just someone trying to do too much to make it special or different. But it ended up tasting more like some strange "lemon-iced-tea" flavor of soda; not like Tea at all. I was kinda irritated by it since first of all, they up-charge you an extra dollar when you order Tea and then deny you refills. Who doesn't do refills on Iced Tea? Every restaurant I've ever been to will serve you tea until it's coming out of your nose. So that alone was off-putting enough. But to order good ol' Iced Tea and get some contraption that someone made up, and then not have that disclosed was a little irritating. Especially since I was charged an extra dollar for the privilege of drinking this "carbonated lemon-tea experiment." Maybe if they hadn't put all that extra shit in it they wouldn't feel like they needed to charge an extra dollar for it, lol (Hi, I'm Petty Pendergrass, pleased to meet you) ! I will say they don't seem to have the most efficient way of checking people out and getting food to you and the kids working today weren't in any real hurry.
