I recently moved and Wise Choice Movers were highly recommended to me by my property manager and I was very impressed, pleased and more than satisfied with their service. First of all they called me the morning of my move and informed me that they were checking the truck for safety and would be arriving at my property at the time we planned. They arrived exactly on time as they said they would and went straight to work without hesitation. My movers were Shane and Jason and they were very professional and pleasant to work with. They made sure to treat my items as if they were their own items which impressed me because they handled all my items with care and made sure to wrap the items needing extra protection. They were very social along with professional which i also liked so I'd advise requesting them to handle you move. When I booked I dealt with Brandon first and he turned me over to Rachel who was very informative and polite to deal with when I booked my moved with them. She gave me a step by step description of how the process would go and she even gave me 2 different estimates with 2 movers and a second with 3 movers and explained the pro's and cons of both which I like. Oh did I also mentioned that this company is military friendly for both active and retired. Being a retired military veteran myself I couldn't say no once I found out they support their veterans They will now have all of my moving business and I'm gonna recommend them to all of my friends from now on. I have several issues with Wise Choice Movers, but I'll start with the positives: the crew were nice guys; they were polite, hardworking, and on time. That's why this is 2 stars instead of 1. My real complaints are with the owner, the foreman, and the planning behind the move. **Wasted time on the clock.** The owner (Shane) correctly recommended two trucks for my move, but the foreman (Pete) only let himself load the first truck. That meant three of my four crew members stood around while the second truck sat empty -- at $349/hour for a 4-person, 2-truck crew, that adds up fast. **Move stretched to two days.** Because loading took so long, the foreman said we had too much to finish in one day, so the move to Marysville became a two-day job. Given the pace, that call was probably right but better planning should have prevented it from being necessary in the first place. **The size/complexity assessment failed before the move even started.** Before the move, Shane had me record videos into an AI tool so he could gauge the size and complexity of the job. Based on how the day actually went, that tool was worthless or Shane didn't use it properly. Either way, if your move has any complexity to it, insist on having an experienced human mover come assess it in person. Don't rely on an app. **No ramp for a steep driveway.** I warned them in advance that my new house has a steep driveway. A side-loading truck can park at the base of a driveway like mine and use a ramp to walk items straight up. But the foreman refused to back the truck up the driveway, and the crew showed up with only rear-loading trucks -- which can't be ramped up an incline that way. Some of the crew told me that Wise Choice's one side loading truck had a mechanical breakdown and wasn't available. The result: instead of rolling things up on a ramp, everything had to be carried up the steep driveway by hand. **Understaffed, and they knew it.** When I texted Shane about the pace with only one person to pack both trucks, he admitted he'd planned to send an extra crew member at no charge but had too many other moves that day. Honest, but not exactly reassuring in the moment. **Handling felt more amateur than professional.** I've used corporate movers under Intel/Microsoft contracts before, and this crew felt more "semi-pro" by comparison. A shelving unit was dragged across a console and scratched it. The foreman -- who said he had 25 years of experience -- hadn't padded the railings until I asked. A "protected" cabinet going up to the third floor ended up dinged in several spots because the cardboard padding was flimsy and too thin. I honestly think I could have done a better job wrapping and preparing my furniture myself than these guys did! **Bottom line:** I have nothing personal against the crew. I liked them. Some of what went wrong was bad luck, but most of it came down to poor planning, poor management, and a failure to equip and prepare the crew properly. I can't recommend Wise Choice Moving. Specifically, when I reached out initially, they were unable to answer the phone. However, I received a return call within minutes. They listened carefully to my request and answered my questions and concerns. We then set up an appointment for the move. A handful of days before the move, they reached out and even asked if we required assistance in packing. On the day of the move, they communicated their ETA and were prompt. They assessed the situation and prioritized their efforts in meeting our needs. They were very careful with our belongings within the home we were moving out of and the one we were moving into. This was our 2nd time using WCM and they didn't disappoint. This particular move was pretty challenging. First - we have a lot of "stuff" - 3 truck loads, second and perhaps more importantly the destination was on a large hill AND 2 flights of stairs. These guys worked for 12 hours, pushing, pulling and moving our items from place to place. They were very communicative, careful with our items (nothing broke), and really, just nice guys. This was a very challenging move but they handled with grace and ease (I'm not sure they would say "ease"). They'll be our first call when and if we need to move again. read more

These movers are not like the rest, they arrived on time, with mountains of blankets and multiple hand trucks and furniture dollies to move anything. This review is long overdue...sorry! We moved in May of 2022 and opted to use Wise Choice Movers, and we're sure glad we did. Moving is one of the most complicated life things...but getting all of our stuff from one house to the next was easy once we left it to Wise Choice. We had been in our home for 14 years and had a lot of stuff. A lot. Wise Choice made it easy by giving us an idea on the cost ahead of time, and what made it even better was that they didn't dork around with things like extra fees for stairs, or TV's or whatever. On move day, they showed up on time and got right to work. They didn't balk at any of the items that were ridiculously large or heavy. The answer was always "no problem"....and it wasn't. Anything they took apart, they put back together perfectly at the new place and everything was well protected. They knew what they were doing for sure and it inspired confidence in a stressful time. Each of the movers was very friendly as well, which made the day easier. Even with 2 big trucks, and filling a 6x12 trailer that we towed...they still had to come back the next day to finish up. This was unexpected, but they handled it well. I hate moving. During our unpacking, the only damage we found was to a few fragile items that we packed ourselves...and should have packed better. It wasn't their fault...they did an amazing job. I'd rather eat glass than move. But I'll tell ya...if I have to do it again, I'll be calling Wise Choice. read more

I picked this moving company based on the reviews I saw, and their availability. I spoke with Steve and he was very polite about moving us within the next few days (I called on Thursday and they were able to move us on Monday). I moved from a 3/2 to a 4/2/2. Steve was very nice and told me I would receive a courtesy call the day before the move to confirm the moving time. I told him it wasn't necessary. I didn't get a call the day before. The two guys called 22 minutes before 9 and showed up on time. They were nice and I felt like they took care with our items. I chose to put less stars because I've had multiple movers before, not in this state, and I felt like there was more sense of urgency. If I'm paying by the hour, I'd like to know they're working, not conversing and standing in the van while one is working. I also felt like the accountability for time was unclear. I have no idea at what point they stopped the clock and started it from their lunch and leaving one location to the other location. They didn't assemble as a team, so some things took longer because they did require an extra set of hands. If it wasn't for the 10% discount because I found them on yelp, I would have been less happier. I don't think moving less than 5 miles down the road with as little stuff as we had should have been over 6 hours. Especially when I moved most of the non furniture items myself out of the apartment and into the house. read more

Let me start by saying that this is not another 5-Star review. My moving day started with a nightmarish call from Steve, telling me that their driver didn't show up and would need to reschedule. This is the worst thing you want to hear with a 6 month old by your side and all things packed and ready to move. This is by no means a big time moving company but we took the risk because we prefer local businesses and read the reviews on yelp. So now what? Steve, even though just one of the crew members was extremely polite and apologetic and helped coordinate a replacement in less than 20 minutes. Timely and good initiative, since I was blowing steam by now. So why the 5 stars? These stars are JUST for Anthony and Vince. They were the most energetic, well - mannered, professional young men I've had the experience working with. The company made the right calling hiring these stars to their team. Now, The move was a breeze. These guys are Fast AND Careful at the same time! We were moving from a 2 bedroom, 2nd floor apartment to a brand new, 3 floor home with prestine hardwood all over. I was obviously very worried about any dings and scratches. Right off the bat they impressed us with their work ethic. They used the stairs instead of the elevator since it was the closest to the apartment and the most efficient/fast way, even though it would mean much harder work from them. They made light work of 30-40 pound boxes and the furniture was properly shrink wrapped. I observed their stacking skills in the truck and everything was perfectly placed and held secure with bungee cords. At the destination, they used furniture blankets. They were fast moving each box to its room but we're extremely careful, putting each box down like it was full of glass to avoid any dings or scratches to our shiny floor. They even helped me assemble my bed, even though I had disassembled it myself. So there you go, my 5 stars to these awesome guys. read more

[pictures uploaded] Hired them to move a piano on 5/16/2018. They showed up 30 minutes past the three hour window we agreed on. They moved a stand up piano quickly, but damaged the lower keyboard of the piano with a tie down strap, left a large scratch on the wood floor, and broke off a trimming of my front door. I called the owner Brandon Wise and explained the situation, to which he replied that he didn't believe me since the crew was an experienced crew. Still, Brandon offered to come over to repair the trimming himself. I didn't ask for compensation since the piano is old and not worth much. The trimming can be nailed back in, and I can use wood filler to fix the floor scratch. But all these things should not have happened on the first place and just created more work for me. All could have been avoided with a little more care. I will say, the crew was really polite and worked quickly. The piano was a stand up grand. Pretty big, but three movers packed it up quickly and got it to the new house 5 miles away in about 40 minutes. Paid for 2 hours of service. read more

TL;DR UP Top - If you're scrolling through reviews to see if you want to hire these guys, just stop and do it! Now on to the review: I contacted Shane about a month before my recent move. I was calling around to get rates of a few different companies and found that for the most part they are all pretty competitive in terms of pricing. Shane had availability on my move day, so we booked it. I followed up the day before to make sure we were still scheduled, and everything was on track. Move day came and the crew of Steve, Niel and Steve showed up right on time with a fairly large truck. After a quick meet and greet we walked the house and went through each room identifying items to be moved. They got started right away; this team was very efficient. Steve had a game plan in mind, and Niel and Steve were busy executing it. They shrunk wrapped key pieces of furniture and handled each item with care. It wasn't long before the first house was nearly empty and we were on the way to the new place. The crew took a quick lunch break and then met us up at the new house. The unloaded process obviously went a bit faster, but they took the extra time to consult each box coming in as to which room it was going and make sure that the bigger items were in the correct rooms so we didn't have to move them around ourselves. Overall I was pretty impressed and pleased with the scheduling and the effort the guys put in. I've heard some horror stories with movers, but thankfully haven't experienced any yet. Wise Choice Movers was hired to move upstairs furniture because new carpet was being installed. Tyler, Marcel, and Danny arrived on time, introduced themselves, and went to work. We finally made it home after a year of all of our belongings in storage following a water damage event, and the great movers/people at Wise Choice helped at both ends of this adventure. We live on a very narrow street and had two truckloads of home items to unload quickly to avoid a traffic jam, ... the Wise Choice Crew handled it quickly, carefully, and with good cheer!! They asked for direction of placement at the house and offered to help setup difficult items!! We hired Wise Choice to unload a 26-foot rental truck that we had driven 900 miles after it was packed by a local moving company at our previous home. The two-man crew from Wise Choice was excellent. They arrived on time and unloaded the truck in three hours, putting all the boxes and furniture in the locations we asked them to without damaging any of our stuff or the new house. They handled a tricky flight of stairs with no problem, including a heavy sleeper sofa and heavy triple wide cherry dresser. They even laid out a runner to protect our wood floors. 5-25-15:SECOND update! Another customer of Wise Choice contacted me and told me that Wise Choice also contacted him and offered him money to remove his review! This explains the great reviews - they bribe reviewers to delete the negative ones! BE WARNED! I am updating as I was contacted AGAIN by Wise Choice - this time by a much more polite manager (Steve). He expressed upset about the way I was treated and told me that the two people that moved me were new and that Wise Choice never schedules two noobs together like that (ok...so?). He also shared that they are no longer with Wise Choice (this is good but how does it help me now?). Finally, he explained that Brandon does indeed have serious problems dealing with people (!!!!). He was very upset about this review and wanted me to remove it - he specifically asked me that! He asked what he needed to do to make that happen and I said "Credit me and leave me alone." He suggested that they could "maybe" take a few hours off the marathon 6 hour move to make me happy. Really? Let's review: No, let's sum up. I had to blast them publicly and endure days of verbal abuse and threats for them to consider charging me a reasonable price for a competent move - a service which they did not provide - instead of the ridiculous 6 hour fiasco? Too late for that. I told him I would be willing to update my review if he credited me in total. He called me the next day to magnanimously offer me the 2 hour discount - after he spoke to his supervisors. Really? Is this a joke? Is this a car dealership or something? Now, anyone that follows my reviews knows that I am very diligent about updates, so here it is: -They packed computer equipment with wet, liquid bathing supplies that leaked and ruined my PC components. - When my clothes fell out of the armoire they LEFT THEM IN A HEAP at the back of the storage unit, under boxes where I couldn't see them. - They gave me some boxes for the last few delicate items, which I clearly indicated should be handled with care. Instead of charging me for them like a normal moving company (this is the ONLY thing they didn't charge me for) they DUMPED THEM OUT at the back of the unit and took the boxes back! Since a photo says a thousand words I uploaded a few. Enjoy Wise Choice's quality service service through me, and the sight of my ruined hats and table (just to start). - A brand new chin up bar, unopened in the box, never made it to the storage unit at all.
