I have to say, I am so happy with my decision and my savings even slightly exceeded what my projected savings had. When I began shopping for solar I was pretty new to the concept and really needed to work with a company who was willing to educate me and walk me through the entire process. I contacted three companies and received consults/quotes from each of them. I worked directly with the owner of Sunwave, Jose Alvarez. He was knowledgeable, professional and detail-oriented and he clearly enjoys what he does. That was a huge determining factor for me in making my purchasing decision. I also found his price to be very competitive in comparison to the other estimates I received. I am very happy with my decision to give this locally-owned business my support. I feel like they helped us make the right decisions through the whole process, especially for system size to be able to keep our NEM1 status. The new roof looks great and works really well. I waited almost a year to write this review to make sure there wasn't any water intrusion during the winter storms - not a drop anywhere. They were in the mid-high range in pricing on the bids we got, but I'm happy we spent a little more went with them. Can a roof be sexy? Ours sure is. I was interested in adding panels to my existing older solar roof panels. My panels are working well, but I could use more power. Was also interested on behalf of my daughter who wanted extra panels after adding an EV and hot tub. After a couple of tel/cons with Diego, we determined in both our cases, it would not be worth adding additional panels because our True-ups were not high enough annually to warrant a system purchase. We had an extensive discussion about the fact that there are no more perks or discounts to install solar and things have just gotten more expensive over the last year, with loss of rebates, etc. Diego was very honest that in both of our cases, the cost of upgrading our mutual systems was not worth the money it would cost. I truly appreciated his honesty as he talked himself out of not one job but two. During the recent 95° weather in West Sacramento, I kept my AC at 72°, and the battery powered my house for most of the night. If you have PG&E, I definitely recommend getting a battery with your solar system. Their rates are so high that it's nice using the power you stored during the day instead of paying those peak prices when you get home from work. I also had a power outage that lasted a few hours. The switch to the battery happened so fast that my TV didn't even turn off. I didn't even realize the power was out at first. The crews were friendly, answered my questions, and kept me updated through every step. Justin, my solar consultant, was great to work with. He answered all my questions and was always quick to respond. When I get an electric car in a few years, I'll have Hooked on Solar come back and recommend whether I should add more panels or another Tesla Powerwall. I'd definitely use Hooked on Solar again.

i have a Hooked On Solar system that was installed 11 years ago, it has never required a service…read more last week it went off line and I requested a service call. The technician arrived and reset the system and it started working, he could have left it like that but he didn't. The technician opened every panel and checked and tightened the wiring, he then went on roof to check panel connections. The connections were weathered after 11 years of exposure, so he chose to replace them as suspect and provention. This is an example of excellence in service. I would recommend Hooked On Solar for any of your Solar needs, new or service
