I go to Wojo's for Chicago style hot dogs. I get the special with fries. My kids always try a new milkshake flavor. Both the dogs and the shakes can not be beat. They are always high quality and always delicious. I do not live nearby, so I only get to stop in every few months. But the owner remembers my name practically every time! Have driven by and was curious of their menu. My brother and I decided to try it. 1 buffalo burger with Swiss and grilled onions, med diet, and fries for him. 1 1/4lb bacon burger With grilled onions tomato and cucumbers, and a med diet for myself. Total bill 18.88. We got our order, my brothers burger was a small patty with the melted Swiss and grilled onions lost in a huge sesame seed bun. Fries were well, fries. My bacon burger at least had additional toppings but was flavorless also lost in a huge bun. The best part of the meal was the bacon. We were both extremely unimpressed and dissatisfied. For the amount of money we spent we could have enjoyed a fabulous double bacon cheeseburger from Portillos At least our curiosity was sated. Will not be returning again. read more

I don't know what day the other people on this site went to Wojo's but I went this past weekend and it was not all that good as expected based on the other reviews. I've had better burgers, the milkshakes were really milky (personal opinion) and the waffle fries were hard! Also, I got some cheese for my fries and it was very buttery (yuck!) so i took the long trip from humboldt park to Wojos. i had been there years ago , but i'm mature now to give a proper review. we ordered bison and ostrich burgers. psst. between you and me , i couldn't taste a difference between a regular burger. i didn't load my burger with too many accoutrements on purpose. it had a good taste, but it wasn't different as to justify the price. got regular fries. pretty good and perfect combo of crisp and soft. and got 1 fudge and 1 strawberry shake. meh. fudge wasn't mixed well so the fudge was all around the edges. strawberry was ok. all in all it seems like a good neighborhood burger and dog place. won't make that trek again though. read more

*Review for shake only; I didn't try their food* I tried one of their shakes for the first time and it was absolutely the best shake I have ever tried in my life. They have 75 different flavor combinations for you to choose from, also. I know it sounds disgusting to most, but I chose to get a mint Nutella shake, and I am so glad that I did. The flavors actually blended so well together. I usually cannot finish a whole shake when I get one at other places, but here I just had to finish it. This place is awful. Not only are they over priced, but they're slow, and the employees are rude. Being my first time, I asked what came on a cheeseburger and the woman taking my order almost choked because she actually had to tell me. Not only that but I was with two children who are indecisive which also seemed to piss her off. To top it all off, the burger I got was cold. When I asked them to cut it, some teenage slob touched my food with his BARE HANDS and scraped all of my fries out of the basket. It should not be $21+ for two kids to eat a burger and fries. It wasn't busy so you think making a burger and beef / sausage combo would be easy. 0 for 2, burger not made as requested and combo was dipped when asked not to be dipped. If i could give them zero stars i would my husband and i loved the food here and one day we went in to get shakes my husband got a pinnapple banana and strawberry shake. My husband took a drink and than a sniff and broke out and throat swelling he has a terrible nut allergy and when i called they said that no nuts should of been in the drink. Please be careful going here if you order a shake epically if your kid has an allergy. I understand it was a mistake but if we didnt live so close to home it couldve been even worse. If you are looking for an awesome burger spot I would not recommend Wojo's. The burger patties taste like grade school cafeteria and are very thin. I'm a hunter and I enjoy gamey meats, but my burgers I make are much more flaverful. The shakes are the hero of this place. Big variety of shake flavors make it worth it. Too bad it could be an awesome place for an exotic burger and a unique shake if the Burger quality was better. read more

Very disappointing, I think the place has changed. Ordered a Ruben, a shake and a cup of soup. Guess how much. $16.98! Now I don't mind paying for good food, but when I got home and opened up my sandwich, there was no swiss cheese on it and it was TINY. Like the size of 1/2 a sandwich. I have ordered that from them for years now, something's changed. The soup was suppose to be Minestrone but it tasted more like chili and it was so horrible that I threw it away. When I called to complain, all he said was that was the correct size. No apology. He couldn't have cared less! So, I said you just lost a customer and hung up. Don't waste your money. Very high prices and very small portions. And not the most hygienic place either anymore. I think the kids run the place now. read more

My husband and I were really excited to try Wojo's tonight. We've lived in the area a couple years and know it's a local joint. We stopped by tonight to try a burger and a shake. We must have been close to closing, but the open sign was still on. The girl at the counter glared at us as we walked in. I smiled and said hello and her response was "we close in ten minutes so...". When I asked if we could order she didn't respond, the gentleman behind her tried to recover by telling us we could place an order. However, this girl continued to look at us rudely that we chose to leave. I worked in jobs like this when I was her age, and we always knew that even if we didn't like it, we took orders up until close. There are so many great small local places in the area that have young people working for them and have great service standards. This young lady was beyond rude and Wojo's should be conceded that she represents them. I am very disappointed that I don't feel good about giving my money to this local restaurant because of the bad service they allow. I hope management knows that reputations can be destroyed by bad service, even if the food is good. read more

Went here with my son today for late lunch/early dinner. There are over 60 different flavors of milkshakes! We ate there, and there was plenty of seating, but I don't know if there would be earlier or later in the day at peak meal times. Service was fast, we didn't have to wait long, but again it wasn't very busy. I got a steak sandwich and a banana split shake; both were very tasty, and my steak was cooked as specified. My son got an ostrich burger and a peanut butter chocolate shake. The shake was good; he told me he usually gets that flavor(I don't know why since theres such a large selection, I'd get a different flavor every time), but the burger was in his words "not good"; in my words it was terrible! It was like a freezer burnt turkey burger, but worse. If ostrich is supposed to taste like that, I don't know why people eat it! So I would recommend this place, but not the ostrich. My son says he's trying the elk next so if I taste it ill update. read more

Amazing burger! I had the 1/4 lb. cheeseburger with bacon and it was everything I could ever ask for. The bacon was crisp and crunchy, but not over cooked. The fries were thick cut, salted but not overly so, and cooked perfectly. The only downside I found is the parking lot. There is only one way in and out and it's narrow for larger vehicles. The bannana split milkshake is the best shake ever! It has real chunks of bannana and strawberry and is nice and thin. The burgers are very good, nice and greasy and cooked right when you order. They do take a while but everything is made to order and they do hustle. The only problem i realy have is they have teenage workers with no real supervision and no training in sanitation. The last time i went i was appaled to see the cook trow raw hamburgers on the grill and then put my lettuce and tomato on my meal without ever even wiping her hands (let alone WASHING them). The girl that was doing the frys kept wiping the sweat of her head and then using that hand to help make [people's sandwiches. I've been driving past Wojo's for over 10 years and just ate there two weeks ago. I bought their turkey and veggie burger there as well as their sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious. On my first experience, both the manager and I forgot my drinks and when I called back, I was told I'd be given a credit whenever I wanted to use it. Well, two weeks later I went back and my credit was honored. Very good customer service. I even bought some of the frozen veggie burgers for home. Yum!!! read more

ive been going here since it first opened. if ur gonna pinch a penny then go to burger king.....but if you like great burgers n dog n shakes then this is the place to go. youll pay but it is worth it even if it is a one time treat. i took my kids there...then their kids...n now my great grand kids. i go about 6 times a year n i have yet to be disappointed. sure a lot of young people go there...so what...remember u did the samething when u were young. we all had our hang out....this still is one of mine. try it out youll find it quite an enjoyable experience. tommytee. read more
