    Lamb Karahi

My husband and I just had a late lunch at Wok and Karahi, the place is very clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We wanted to try 1 dish of each specialty, so we ordered of course a Lamb Karahi, this is a very special dish, comes in a hot wok like plate, very traditional Pakistani, the flavor, texture and aroma of this dish is so unique, definitely a must, we asked level 2 spice and it was wonderful. We also had the Chana Masala, this is the best Chana I've tried, so garlicky, so good, the chickpeas had the perfect texture as well, again mild on the spiciness, just great. We also had Chicken Szechuan chaomein, great noodles, the Szechuan flavor on this dish was just spot on. I'm so happy we came to try this place, I can confidently say and confirm this is one of the best places to eat in Houston. I can't recommend just one dish, but don't skip the Chana Masala.

New halal Chinese/desi spot that a lot of people recommended and was also voted top placed to eat in 2024 by the Muslim community. Just had to try it out! When you walk in, the ambiance isn't that catching. Really basic, little old school set up. Table seating is just for parties of 8 or more. Others would need to sit in the booth. Food: for appetizers we did the crispy beef. It was alright. Extremely crispy to a point there was no beef but just the crunchiness. That would have been ok, if the sauce wasn't off. Extremely sweet. Too sweet. For main courses we got the chicken hakka noodles and beef sheekh kabob and of course naan. Hakka noodles were good! Highly recommend this. Beef sheekh kabob came out hot! Pipping hot! I would have enjoyed it except it tasted just like the crispy beef- it was too tangy! Tasted like the chef dumped a lot of tomato paste and called it a day! What stole the show was the naan. Fresh naan- nice and fluffy! Could eat that and be happy. Customer service was good! Quick and easy. Even though the food did not check all the right boxes, I will still give this place another try because of all the great things we've heard about them. And who knows, the chef may just have had an off day!

Soup was delicious, the crispy beef was pretty good. Nice location, very clean. But did a pickup order and they forgot my rice.

Best halal Chinese in Houston hands down! Got food in 10 minutes, and good decor. We had their famous crispy beef (never disappoints), sesame chicken, steak fried rice, mango lassi and the fried ice cream

We wanted to try Indo Chinese food. It was really awful. Fried rice Tasted like vegetable upma ( all Desi folks will know what I'm talking about). The chilli chicken didn't taste anything like the authentic chilli chicken. I have no idea how this place has 4 stars . If you're looking for a good Indian Chinese place, this place will be disappointing! We tried the chicken egg drop soup and it lacked taste. On the plus side : The place is clean and the people serving are cordial but that hardly makes up for the food.

This restaurant is all around awesome. Indian Chinese fusion is absolutely delicious and they are excellent at everything they do. have catered from there multiple times for events and they are so wonderful to deal with and communicative and the food is always been top notch high quality. Especialy love the noodles and beef, kung pao chicken, they're pakoras are out of this world, and the chicken biryani is Delicious. Update: 2024-10 catered from Abbas & family for a large party and it was very popular even with Sugarland people. Beef lo mein, kung Pao chicken, chicken 65, fried rice, Szechuan chicken, egg rolls, and refreshing mojitos. everything was fantastic

Came here for a business lunch! We were given historical context about this place regarding what it was before and how the food missed the mark. But today, complete with new owners/cooks in the kitchen, the meal we had was great and left us wanting to return in the future. Service was a little slow for the drinks, but that's negligible due to the amazing food we had. Chicken 65 5/5 Sweet and spicy and flavorful. The heat was to "medium" and it had a perfect amount of kick to it. It came out steaming on a cast iron pan. Goat karahi 5/5 Simply flavorful and spicy at medium! There was enough meat for the karahi. Goat wasn't too gamey was enough to let you know you were eating good. So the good type of game flavor. The sauce had so much depth to it. Chicken makhani 4/5 Flavor of the masala was amazing. Very sweet and savory, more on the sweet side which I love. But not enough Chicken in this dish. Spicy garlic chicken 3.5/5 This dish wasn't spicy at all and can barely get the garlic flavor. It was good for a indo-chinese dish. Reminded me of gen tso. Garlic Naan 3/5 I thought the Naan was flavorful but seemed too crispy and burnt Kung pao Chicken 5/5 I would crave this dish the most out of what we had altogether. The flavor of lung pao is normally too plain/bland for me in most Chinese spots but this one packed a savory punch. Plenty of chicken and vegetables in this dish. We also received complimentary gulab jamun at the end of our meal. We'll be back for the goat and Kung pao and to try other dishes next time were in the area!

I've door dashed from here and found it intriguing so when the opportunity arose, I was all in. The is a bright, clean dining room with a very visible owner. Turns out he's also patient as we perused an extensive menu and asked lots of questions. Every meal is cooked to order so be prepared to wait. It is worth it. First up was a complimentary appetizer consisting of chicken pea battered veggies, yum and some spicy chicken chunks. Bring a fire extinguisher as even mild brings out the flames. We ordered the special appetizer tray which comes with a delectable crispy, fiery dumpling and some battered shrimp. For mains we had the Roger Josh beef which featured a rich tomato curry and tender beef. My dining partner ordered butter chicken but was slightly disappointed when she discovered dark meat in it. Management surprised us with a complimentary dessert that was both stunning in plating and taste

Out of this world taste! We went for a birthday party and had the place reserved for our daughters 2nd birthday. Lovely lovely people and amazing food. They played some good tunes and it was an overall hit. Will come again.

    Sesame chicken

I ordered sesame chicken, fried rice, saag paneer, and goat biryani. The food was freshly prepared, so we did not mind the wait. The establishment offered good food, a clean environment, and courteous servers.

It was a nice experience. We were familiar with chinese cuisine but not Pakistani/Indian. It is better to scan the menu at your table, because that menu has pictures! Spices can be adjusted on every meal 0 to 9. Zero being not spicy, nine being HOT! The food was very good. We had orange chicken, beef and brocolli, and butter chicken. Also, had garlic naan and sesame naan. One thing that was not good was they don't serve rice with any of the dishes! All that sauce and no rice. Main dishes were around $17, you think rice could be included in that price. The service was awesome! Alex was serving us and did a fantastic job. Lunch for 3 of us with tax and tip was $87.

Ambiance: This may be a longer review because I tried various things. We wanted to try a new location yesterday and decided to give Wok & Karahi a try as it mentioned they are a blend of Indian and Chinese cuisines. We learned they are under new management so the inside is being revamped going with a more achromatic color scheme and adding a buffet as an option for items pictures on the menu with a red background. I will say when you first drive up it is easy to miss as the name on the outside states "Halal Chinese" - this may be an old name before the revamp or not; but it is the correct location. Order: Buffet: the buffet included items like veggie & spring rolls, dumpling soup, 2 versions of the fried rice and noodles, chili & sesame chicken, and Mongolian beef. I took pictures of the items I tasted before going back for larger portions of what I liked. The soup was flavorful and good; but I am not a fan of the thickness within it. Everything else was great, especially the Mongolian beef, beef fried rice & noodle. Those were a 10/10. I loved the veggie roll, especially when it was paired with the sweet chili sauce. Samosa: I order the samosa, which is separate from the buffet. The samosa had this slightly sweet coating while the inside had the slightly spiced flavor. I loved it along with the sauce. Definitely recommend. Lemonade: the lemonade was okay and is separate from the buffet but I was able to have a cola as well. Service: Everyone was nice but there was this one staff member that was very helpful in explaining what each item is, he checked in various times, was very energetic and true to himself, he held great conversations and made great recommendations. He's the reason I tried the buffet Payment: The buffet is priced at 19.99 and the payment was quick and easy. Overall experience: I will say the buffet is small when we're speaking on options but the flavor is great to where you aren't worried about other things. It gives the focus on quality and not quantity. I plan to visit again and try the curry and other items.

I don't know how their first review is a negative one because I went in with a big party and we all got great customer service add great food. Granted, the waitress was not the best, but the owners were so gracious and nice and visited our table a couple of times to make sure our food was up to a good standard. I really liked that they brought our food out as soon as it was ready, because then we were able to eat very hot food. Nothing bothers me more than going to a restaurant and getting food that just tastes a warm and not actually hot. The honey garlic wings were very good and so were the spring rolls. My favorite things was the chicken tikka and the chicken Popsicles which were essentially the chicken tikka with a lemon and butter sauce on top of them. I really enjoyed the dumplings as well we got them steamed and Pan roasted and I like them Pan roasted best. The mango laasi is delicious as is the gulab jamun. I wish them much success and I'm so happy to have a new halal chinese/pakistani place open! Can't wait to visit again!

I had an alternate plan initially, but timing didn't work out for me, so I perused my bookmarks as I took the parking shuttle to my car and settled on Curry Masala. I called them once I got to my car and was told my order would be ready in about 20 minutes, as my GPS read out that I was 20 minutes from the restaurant. Everything was coming up Milhouse. Because I am a basic B, I ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. It was ready about 3 minutes after I arrived, and off to home I headed. I enjoyed both, but thought the tikka masala was definitely the better of the two, and the wife agreed. We had a favorite Indian spot really close to here that has unfortunately closed down, so I have been on the hunt for a new one. Curry Masala did not quite match that level, but it's not a bad option when in the area.

If you don't like spicy or seasoned food, this place works for you and you don't need to continue this review. If you do care for those things and you try this place, you might agree that the flavor profile is catering to the demographic of the location that the restaurant is in and not the authenticity of the culture that it should represent. I know of another location, but this is not to take away business for one restaurant, but to help encourage this one to lean more into its authentic flavor. Even if that means moving locations because your demographic may not care for it. I had chicken Biryani (safe for an American) but the chicken was dry and with minimal flavor. The rice lacked flavor. The raita was ok, if you like everything blended together. The onions and lime/lemon you might usually have on the side was not offered with this. Fried cauliflower with chicken 65 seasoning, had a good spice level, but it was soggy.

The moment I walked through the door, the smell alone had me questioning why I hadn't ordered anything for myself. I walked up to the counter, gave them the name on the order, and boom the food was in my hands. I truly appreciate a restaurant that respects to-go times, and they absolutely nailed it. While exiting, I noticed they also offer a lunch buffet from 11-2:30 which immediately caught my attention for a future visit. Now comes the dangerous part. The kids opened their containers of butter chicken with rice and spicy aloo, and my mouth instantly started watering. The portions were generous, and I found myself asking the same question over and over...**Why didn't I order anything?!** Curiosity officially got the best of me, so yes... I stole a bite. Actually... maybe two. The butter chicken was incredibly flavorful with a rich, creamy sauce that had me wishing there was another container with my name on it. But the real surprise for me was the spicy aloo. I'd never had potatoes prepared quite like that before, and they completely stole the show. I wanted that entire side for myself. Needless to say, next time I'm not just picking up food for the family I'm ordering my own meal too. This visit was more than enough to convince me I'll be back to explore the rest of the menu.
