The food was alright not that great seasoning. Me and my friends went in and there was hair in the food of my friend. My friend asked for them to take it back or at least discount. The lady working then proceeded to argue with us and said we use hair nets or that probably is your hair when clearly we knew it was not. She tried to argue and then proceeded to head to the kitchen where there was yelling. Then barely gave us a discount of 20% on the noodles we ordered. Also I had asked to replace a tea as I did not like it and the same lady refused to change the tea. It would be a quick fix but she refused. Horrible service, ok food, and overall look was clean and nice but quiet and dead which clearly makes sense. And to top it off my friend received a fortune cookie with no fortune in it. read more

This is such a cute little Chinese cafe who's punny name truly caught my eye. It is a fairly small restaurant and you are almost always seated immediately. We definitely beat the dinner rush on the day we visited! The menu is expansive, they have just about everything and veggie options too! The servings are such a good size, not too much and not too little. Perfect for my husband and I to share! The Hello Kitty soy sauce was a cute touch and this was a perfect spot for our Friday night date. The food is flavorful and comes out hot since they make everything fresh to order. We came in here tonight and there was no one else in this restaurant. We thought okay surely they must be having a slow night, but they have four stars so let's give it a try. The young lady who sat us down took a while to ask us for our drink and food orders. We ordered the egg fried rice, peppered steak, and beef/chicken Kung Lao chicken combo. They food was barely average. I thought that being that we were the only ones in the restaurant our food was surely made to order, but it was out in less than five minutes. I don't even know where to start as to how horrible this food is. No salt. No soy sauce. Not even MSG to give this flavor. These two bowls were almost $20 for the lunch special. I have no idea if it's inflation or something, but this is just horrible. Now, if this tasted amazing, I may have possibly paid it, assuming it was the ONLY thing open. But that's not the case. I got more bean sprouts than noodles. More broccoli than bland "teriyaki" chicken. And the most bland fried rice ever to be in the face of the earth. Bad. Bad all around. They do not use MSG and they have several vegetarian options for those who need them This family-owned and operated restaurant is consistently good. The prices are reasonable and the portions are hearty. Try the sizzling rice soup, and the Szechuan chicken. I recommend getting the family style meals that come with an appetizer, soup and two main dishes. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. The food is prepared quickly and it never disappoints. They just opened for lunch , entrance was not so inviting , the hostess stand had torn up paper signs and there was that looks like a scraping tool on the floor. I was greeted by the server and got seated. I ordered the orange chicken from the lunch special. The runny sauce was tasty but the battered chicken was not as how I expected it to be . Looks like it was frozen since chicken was so dry inside the almost crunchy hard batter. I wasn't able to eat any good pieces of chicken .. The sweet-and-sour chicken lunch was just OK. Enough food to fill me up because it came with soup or salad, but for some reason it just didn't seem super fresh. I never heard them cooking in the back. All of a sudden my food just appeared. It was drowned in sweet-and-sour sauce, so much, so that it was all in my rice which I was not a fan of. I recently made a return trip here with my in-laws and something was amiss. I was telling them that there was average Chinese food available in Redlands and decided to take them there for lunch. We walked into a very busy restaurant and were seated immediately. What caught our attention was the lunch specials because they were ridiculously inexpensive-- about $8 to $10 for what seemed to be a full meal. The lunch specials even included soup, salad, and a choice of white rice or fried rice. I opted for Kung Pao shrimp with fried rice. However, the food came almost immediately, almost as if the food was premade and sitting around waiting for someone to plop on a plate. The salads ended up being shredded lettuce with some thousand island dressing drizzled on top. The soup? It was a dark yellow color masquerading to be egg drop soup. The Kung Pao shrimp was not made with fresh shrimp. And the fried rice you ask? It was nothing but white rice in soy sauce; there wasn't even any meat or vegetables! The worst part was that my mother-in-law got food poisoning afterwards... Definitely not a good meal with the in-laws! read more

I had the rose milk tea and the banana milk to start. I really liked the flavor, especially the banana milk, so I ordered food. The food: I chose to evaluate something familiar. I was pleasantly surprised at how the food brought me feeling. Their chicken is breaded, but not too thickly. It is well cooked, and the flavor is great. The orange sauce had a good balance between spicy (if you ask, for it, and mine was extra spicy) and sweet. The orange flavor does not overpower the chicken, which is moist without being greasy. The dish tastes great by itself or with rice for added texture (the flavor is the chicken). Dine-in or take-out? I spoke with the owner and learned that they have been here for 7 years. They do not do delivery because the apps charge their customers more when trying to place an order. Instead, they ask everyone to call in an order and pick up since they lack a delivery service. I am placing a large pick-up order for anime movie night with my friends, and I can't wait for them to try it. Anecdotal side note: I grew up on State Street in the 2000s, and this brought me back to middle school when we used to have family dinner night at a Chinese restaurant, Ichiban. (I don't see any more as much has changed here over the decades.) While the café style ambiance here is charming and modest, the food is much better than the Ichiban restaurant I remember from 20 years ago. Cooking 101 suggests that when you cook and serve for guests, you have to taste your own food before serving. This restaurant is the opposite. They have a set customer base and for most of them this place might be the best Asian Place in the world. When you serve any fusion or pure Asian cuisine, you need to make sure it does not loose taste after the wok cooking. Hot wok in cooking any Asian Stir Fry dishes is so very important. When I got served my dish, it was sloppy had no taste and most of all it was very salty. Service was good. I was asked for water atleast twice in my entire lunch experience.
