Hi Las Cruces. I have been looking for good Chinese food, saw a lot of good reviews for WoknWorld. We tried the dinner for two package, soup, apps and entrees. I ordered sweet and sour pork and other things but this is not the first time it has happened to me they delivered my food I ate the egg drop soup which was good no issue there. Went to eat the Sweet and sour pork got the pork and veggies for it but NO sweet and sour sauce. I thought I would give them another try 1st time was the same when I ordered Lemon Chicken the sauce as almost nonexistent. This time that was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back. Disappointing. We picked up food from there this evening for Chinese New Year. The Mu Hsu pork did not come with plum sauce. The shrimp and cashews was short on shrimp and cashews and heavy on fillers. The Kung bao chicken was equally full of fillers, celery and water chestnuts. I would HIGHLY reconsider going to this place. Today, I ordered their Won Ton soup, and walked out with such disgust and discontent. As I was eating the soup, I happen to take a closer look and i found a maggot. That's right- a MAGGOT. After I told the waitress, she took the maggot on a spoon (the one i was eating with), and took it to the back kitchen. She came back and told me I wouldn't be charged and apologized. She told me they "think" it was from the vegetables in the soup. I highly doubt that, and think the wontons were sitting somewhere for a long time, in bad conditions. Either way, this is completely unacceptable and people can get REALLY sick. I don't know how contaminated their food is, or how often they actually throw things out and inspect, but finding a maggot in my food sends a clear picture. Called to place a $25 order for lunch. I was going to pickup order and told the lady taking the order I would need the order brought out to my truck. She said they were not allowed to bring the order to my truck, and I would have to go inside to get the order. They advertise delivery service, but I guess my truck in their parking lot is out of the service area. Worst service I have ever received. Stefan treating female waitress badly barking orders in front of patrons. Came to our table and he shooed her away. Chewing gum like a cow. Didn't take our drink order first just gave menu. He just took our entree order and walked away, I had to ask him if we can order drinks. I had to ask him to clean the table so he wiped it down with a wet rag half way, and left it wet. I had to grab a handful of paper napkins and finish. Didn't get our orders right and had the nerve to practically throw the plates on the table before we had finished our soup. We came in to have a nice dinner and he ruined our meal experience. Before we had a chance to eat only a few bites, he brought the bill, as if all he cared about was getting his tip. "Here's your order, now pay and leave". We got boxes but he took our utensils so I had to use my hands. Disgusting. I have been there several times and never got such bad service until tonight. read more

I came here with my dad on Friday because we always like trying new places and we have been craving some Chinese food lately other than the Panda Express that's right down the road. However let me start off by saying a positive note the stuff is extremely friendly and helpful and they have a fairly large menu the even have gluten free and vegan options. I had ordered the sesame chicken with fried rice. The chicken was mostly breading and the sauce it was in was more of a dark brown sweet and sour sauce but mostly sour. It hardly has any flavor and zero spice and mind you it was marked "spicy". The rice also lacked flavor and it was still a little under done at least in my opinion. The only reason why I rated this restaurant three stars was because of the service that was provided by literally every staff member that was there and our waitress was pretty consistent on keeping our drinks filled and seeing if we needed anything else. I might come back and give them another chance but in all honesty I'm not so sure especially because they are on the pricier side. read more

Wow - We really used to love this restaurant. The last three times we have ordered delivery from them, more then one of the dishes we have ordered has been bad to the point of being inedible (full order thrown into the trash inedible). Their spring rolls are soft, mushy, and loaded with grease and the dumplings have such a heavy greasy skin that they make it impossible to enjoy the filling. Other dishes either seem like day old food or are entirely under seasoned, except for the Egg-fu-yang which is so over seasoned with cheap black pepper it is also something to stay away from. The only good thing this restaurant seems to consistently have is their Hot and Sour soup which is wonderful. Everything else is just about as bad as American Chinese food can be. We even called the owner and shared our concerns, she told us we were wrong and did not know Chinese and her food best. One on of the best meals I have ever had in a Chinese restaurant. My wife and I have had Chinese food in many countries and all across the USA and we have not had better. I had fried rice and my wife had sesame chicken........fabulous. I had fried shrimp appetizer and egg rolls, all were just outstanding. Was really looking forward to trying this place and was a bit disappointed. First the positive: the eggrolls and the hot and sour soup were really good. The portions are huge and carryout was convenient. They give you a lot of sauces and plenty of soy sauce, fortune cookies, etc. Everything was packed really well and nothing spilled on the drive home. I appreciate the hard working staff; when I visited it was really busy and the staff were doing their best to help everyone. Now the negative: I ordered Mongolian Beef, which is supposed to have a spicy sauce, and instead got what I'll call "beef and veggies." It was not spicy, had very little beef, and was comprised of 75% onions. The sauce was pretty watery and tasted like a basic gravy. My husband ordered orange chicken, which came with no veggies and dry chicken. The fried rice was just ok and the sweet and sour and mustard sauces included with our eggrolls tasted a bit off. A lot of reviews say the food is fresh, but I would not agree based on my visit. I'm not sure I'll give this place another try. read more

I don't like buffets and pre-made fast food Chinese restaurants that much, this place makes the food as you order, fresh, and steamy hot. On our way to the Arts Exhibit at the Las Cruces Convention Center, we decided to give Wok 'N World a try. We were not disappointed. Our lunch of Mongolian Beef and Mongolian Chicken were both delicious. We got the lunch combo which included an egg roll. We both had our lunch with lo mein instead of rice. So sorry that I have to write this... We just moved here from the east coast. This is the first Chinese restaurant that we attempted, Ordered happy family, pork egg fu yang, and hot sour soup. So I will start with the good. The hot sour soup was tasty and filled with mushrooms. But... NO TOFU and not sure if any meat was in there. Also seems like a beef soup base was used. I am used to hot sour soup with tofu and small strips of pork. Next was happy family. Very LIMITED amount of MEAT in there, the sauce seemed like it began with a soup base. It was ...ok at best. Now the disaster. Pork Egg fu yang was disgusting. At the very bottom of the mess was a 1/4 inch thin egg-ONLY patty. On top was a slurry of pork cubes, diced peas and carrots all in a thick amateurish chicken soup base glop. What a disaster. I am used to this dish having a THICK egg, onion, bean sprout and meat patty with a simple gravy on top. What they slop together is sort of a deconstructed strange mess. Almost forgot the fried rice....simply not good. So sorry, I wish it was good. I REALLY want to support local. Why make it so difficult? These are BASIC Chinese dishes that even a crappy place should be able to accomplish properly. It looks like we have several other Chinese restaurants in the area. We will try them all until we find something at least average. This was during the virus carry out only, so perhaps the accountant was cooking, no idea. I have not ordered from Wok n World for years we loved going in person when they were next to Kmart in Las Cruces NM and I called it in and roomate went to get she questioned them saying we ordered not one but 2 meals?... We Had ORDERED 2 meals with 2 entrees, we got ONE... We ordered bbq pork Got NONE... Shrimp were so so, rat on stick were very good and we ordered 4 extra egg rolls, we got Freaking spring rolls I do not LIKE them they are always mushy... Anyway I complained and the manager acted like I had DONE the whole meal wrong... Why on earth don't they just admit that they did it wrong and he did offer to replace a meal but we live like a half our outside of Las Cruces, New Mexico there is NO WAY I was about to have my roomate go back in... I ordered delivery and it took longer than I expected to arrive, I didn't get any kind of update when my food was prepared or the driver was on their way... maybe I've gotten so accustomed to door dash and other delivery services that this felt weird. When I opened my order, the lo mein I had paid for was not in the bag. I called the restaurant and they were kind enough to refund me for the missing item, but didn't offer any kind of apology. The food was just ok, the spicy pepper beef was slimy in consistency and I ended up throwing it away instead of eating it. I must say the sweet & sour chicken was delicious though!
