I opted for the turkey BLT My bacon wasn't cook (maybe it briefly touched the griddle but it wasn't edible ) I brought it to the attention of the staff and asked if they had a microwave they said no. Then I showed her the bacon and she immediately acted concerned and went to speak to someone. I never heard from her again. I didn't eat the bacon on my $12.50 sandwich. They were the only thing in this general area that was open except McDonald's and usually Wolfgang puck restaurants are very above standards but this one fell horribly short. The lady at the sandwich/salad counter was there, just never acknowledged anyone as she went about messing with pans & wiping counters that honestly didn't look dirty. By the time she finally did acknowledge there was anyone waiting2 people had already given up & left & 3 people had ordered & received their pizzas at the pizza counter. I got the American breakfast with an extra side of bacon. Overall I was satisfied. The line was long but moved somewhat quickly-there was only one cook and one pizza guy (at 8am). I do wish that they put butter on the wheat toast so that it could melt, but there were packets of butter, salt and other stuff by the trash can in the restaurant so I can't complain too much. Tip: grab some napkins for your flight-they're much better than the ones on the plane. The customer service was good. read more

I have eaten at an airport Wolfgang Puck restaurant before (Greenville SC) and I can definitely say that experience was completely different than the one at ORD concourse K. The bar was somewhat empty which I assumed I lucked out but with the staff they had gave the impression that they could not be bothered. I ended up ordering ordering a salad which was served on a paper plate with plastic utensils kind of reminded me of a KFC, the only difference was the spork oh yeah and the price point!! I think the next step is going to be serving drinks in plactic cups but yet charging high end bar prices. The actual salad was a disappointment as well. Had a layover for a couple of hours at O'Hare so I decided to eat lunch. I was familiar with, and liked, the Chinoise Chicken Salad at the Wolfgang Puck Express in Downtown San Francisco so I ordered that. When I started to eat the salad, I noticed the cabbage, greens and cilantro were wilted and rotten. I took the salad to the counter to complain and the lead person told me she had to call the manager. She was the head of that location and she couldn't make the decision to remedy the situation??? We waited 15 minutes for the manager to arrive because he was in another part of the airport. He looked at the salad and could see that it was spoiled and rotting. He asked if I wanted something else and I ordered a pizza. The pizza was less than the salad I paid for but they would not give me back the difference in price! Horrible service the bar opened at 6:30 and it's past 6:30 the bartender is making phone calls and sitting next to the bar as if she doesn't even care. We have a flight to catch and purposely came here to get a fast drink before but had to wave her down while she's looking out the window on her phone making phone calls. This place is falling apart. I'm a frequent traveler and eat here every once in a while When I'm in a hurry. Over the years the service gets worse and worse. Today I was dissapointed to see that they removed the chicken pesto sandwich from the menu. So instead I opted for the chicken salad sandwich which was gross. No flavor besides the random grapes that were in there. The bread seemed day old and was dry and chewy. I can't imagine who would approve to put this sandwich and then sell it for $10.99. Airport or not that is ridiculous for the quality of that food. To top it off my friend got the worst attitude from one of the employees he asked politely that his salad dressing be on the side and she just walked away without responding. When she returned he mentioned it again to confirm she heard and she was like "I heard you the first time!" The poor guy just didn't want them to have to remake the salad and she was rude for no reason. The ordering process is a nightmare as well. There is one long line in the beginning but that line is only for pizzas you get to the front of it an are told that you have to move down to order a sandwich or a salad. Then when you go straight to that section people get upset because they think you have cut them. There has to be more efficient way to get the orders in. The extra star that does get is for the pizza which is not bad. But if you are at ohare terminal one at the b gates you are better off going to tortas frontera or Berghoff at the c gates if you have time. read more

Pretty excellent food for an airport. I didn't really pay a lot of attention to the prices because corporate expense card, and also my coworker was putting it on his anyways. I mean, airport food is expensive even when it's garbage though, so I don't mind paying slightly more for some decent food. We shared the meatballs al forno to start and they were very tasty. We both got the arugula salad with white beans and it was super delicious. Perfectly dressed, very fresh greens, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Had a glass of wine that I didn't love quite so much, it was the Wolfgang Puck Chardonnay and it was sour. read more

Layover in Chicago around 10pm with a delayed departure (it's a trend in O'hare) The restaurant selection is quite slim at that hour but Wolfgang has a good name so I gave it a try. Pizza took about 10 minutes and they made it right in front of me. Ordered the spicy chicken with mushrooms. It was cooked in a huge coal oven with multiple other pizzas. Added some oregano and fresh cilantro at the end which gave it a nice smell and crunch. Pizza was a little bland but that might have been my fault for adding mushrooms and holding out on the Parmesan cheese - my attempt to be healthy.. The ingredients are fresh but I might've made a poor menu selection. It is kind of on the pricey side but I will try it again when at O'hare and I won't worry about the waistline. read more

Traveling with Celiac's disease is never easy but you tend to find accommodating managers who have an allergen menu to show you or will work with you on what they have in stock. Alas, Puck was not that. The staff was impatient when we tried to ask for an allergen menu. When we asked for the manager, we found him equally unhelpful. They have omelettes available for breakfast but were unwilling to make one, despite salads being the only other alternative. When I asked the manager, "please help us. We are hungry, tired and obviously traveling" he responded, "once I make an omelette for you, I have to make an omelette for everyone." There was no compassion or kindness from staff. The menu is far too expensive for that service. Puck should be looking for a change in management from HMS Host. read more

The bartender Mike's service was more as if I was a bother to him. He looked angry at the world, just threw a napkin down on the spot and was not welcoming. The bloody was the worst I've ever had. Won't be coming here for a drink ever again, that's for sure! Not to mention behind the bar was filthy! Spilled drinks not cleaned up, counters and register COMPLETELY covered in dust....just GROSS. The Margherita pizza was great. But unfortunately the customer service was not! Mr Lopez or whatever his name is was extremely rude when merely asking about the pizza my boyfriend ordered. We had waited 15+ minutes and saw several customers leaving with pizza. He gave me attitude and stated since I didn't order the pizza with him that's why I'm still waiting, which made absolute no sense. i even showed him my receipt and he stated I had to wait 12 more minutes. I ended up getting my boyfriend to go up there since he ordered it and Mr Lopez still uses an excuse stating he didn't go up to get it when our receipt number was never called out... after being on an extremely long flight and being up since Midnight Saturday was definitely looking forward to American pizza from Chicago during our layover only to receive an unpleasant experience. read more

Most of the reviews here capture the essence of this place. Name suggests you will have a great experience with quality food and service, but pay up for it. In realty, The food is okay. Average. Nothing spectacular. The service is abrupt, sometimes inattentive and rarely friendly. The price is high for the quality and portions of the food. Years ago, you received a larger portion for the classic American breakfast. Price has gone up numerous times while portion has shrunk. Quality is not as good as years ago. It's time for me to find other spots. The clincher? They would not refill my iced tea. $2.50 for a medium sized cup filled with ice and brewed tea. Probably cost them pennies and wouldn't give a refill. Most places, including McDonalds gives free refills! The margins are so good, everyone can... except Wolfgang... Paying too much anymore for the lack of service, lack of quality and reduced portions. Better places are available that don't hit your pocketbook so much. read more

My recent transfer stop in Chicago || I had about an hour and a half to burn and I spent about ten minutes walking around and browsing my options. Due to the time left, my game plan was pizza, popcorn stop, smoothie king and dash to the gate to board. Ordered the mushroom and sausage pizza. They threw that bad boy in the coal oven... 2 minutes later, my pizza was done. Not bad at all. I requested to have some basil leaves thrown on it for a more aromatic pizza experience. This was very disappointing. I got a pastrami sandwich it was a little bit better than the cold fries that came with it. My wife got a roasted veggie pizza witch could be described in one word. So bad. This is now my second time giving this place a try at the airport. You would think with Wolfgang's reputation, this would be good, but the service makes the whole experience miserable. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes looking employees in the eye trying to get their attention - and they weren't working on any orders and no customers were waiting - and no one helped me. Finally, I went to the cashier and asked for help and she said "I cant help you you have to go to them first or they get mad at me." I was upset that no one would help me. Finally, some time later, I got their attention and was able to order. Seriously, each time I have stopped here it's been terrible service. My "Bucket List" primarily consists of wonderful things. Seeing the world's wonders and dining in restaurants rated in magazines as the "Best". Wolfgang Puck is probably the most famous of all the restaurateur names. Being from Portland, Oregon, I hadn't had a chance to try his fares until recently, when I was waiting for my plane in the Chicago O'hare airport. Not very hungry, having eaten on the plane, I ordered the tortilla soup. Not very chi-chi or grandiose, but my plan was to save my appetite and eat a real meal there on my layover going home. However, I was never able to return to WP's, because my flight was delayed and I barely made my connecting flight home. That being said, I have the soup to judge the restaurant on. Thank goodness it was fantastic! Not only was it topped with fresh avocados and tortilla chips, but it was full of beef. It was so delicious that I found myself hungry and wishing I'd ordered a bigger bowl (not that there was one). It was spicy, but not so much that it's give you heartburn or burn your lips. I had to add a burn of pepper flakes...but that's only because I don't mind my mouth being on fire. The hotter the better! However; he keeps it pretty mild - for the masses. I'm excited to find another Wolfgang Puck restaurant and try more of his famous dishes. The hunt is now on! read more

Airport food that doesn't suck. I was stuck in the airport for a while and I kept seeing people with delicious looking round pizzas. Finally I stopped someone and asked "where did you get that?!?!" For the price of 10-12 bucks (yea, it could be cheaper but you're in the airport..) you can pick between several pizzas that they cook in their fire oven. It might not have been the greatest pizza ever but it was pretty darn good, especially for being stuck in the airport. Brand new renovated location in the LAX Airport. A much larger dining area split into two areas, 70% waiter service area, and 30% a to-go dining. One of the pricier airport dining options, but worth the extra expense on days you might need a little extra "comfort" in your airport fast food. The biggest selling point of Wolfgang Puck Express at LAX? The bar. Get a drink while you wait for your delayed flight, and you can order your dinner right from the bar. Sold. My favorite menu options are the Four Cheese Pesto pizza, and the Butternut Squash soup garnished with red pepper sauce and chives. If you want a little lighter dish, the Chinois Chicken salad is pretty tasty too. read more

I created a Yelp account just to relay the awful experiences I've had at this place. The level of customer service goes beyond bad, and is frankly just bizarre. A typical interaction with the staff typically involves them avoiding eye contact or acknowledging your presence for as long as possible (don't expect any greeting, you won't get one), if they don't happen to have a pre-made pizza in the variety you've ordered the response is typically a mumbled "no". There won't be any offer to make it, or helpful suggestions as to what they might have ready to go, just "no". At this point the cycle starts anew and you're back to being ignored. read more

Dear Wolfy. Shame, Shame. Shame. The bar for airport food is indeed low, and this venue provided food well below our meager expectations. Chinois Salad, a staple, was composed of still frozen 'chicken' and partially frozen slaw slathered in sauce. The Roasted Vegetable pizza, appeared to be microwaved crust (although that implies it was at least cooked) and topped with frozen broccoli and tomato. Both dishes were inedible. read more

If you have some time to kill, this is a good place to eat at a leisurely pace. We were seated immediately, then waited about 30 minutes for our food - no problem since we had a 5 hr layover. I opted for the sirloin burger served with cheddar cheese, carmelized onions and aioli. Per the menu, it was also supposed to have remoulade on it, but if it was there I couldn't taste it. I also paid a little extra to have salad as my side. The burger was huge, cooked to order and good, if a bit dry. The salad was a large portion of mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onions, julienned carrots and broccoli and topped with their house dressing, which is balsamic-based. It was definitely the highlight of my meal, and I likely could have made a meal off the salad alone. Our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered Tortilla soup (10oz.+/- @ $7.00), a single size pizza ($13), and a warm pastrami sandwich w/fries ($12). Entrees were literally "pushed" against our soup bowls in order to get the unfinished soups out of the way. Plenty of free refills on soda, though. Bottom line- Food was pretty good, but slightly over-priced (in my opinion). But then again, the way these airport authorities legally "extort" their rent and % of profits from their tenants, who could blame the high prices?!! Yeah...
